“For every weapon class to have a purpose”

One of the major sources of constraint among Call of Duty Warzone players has always been the severely unbalanced meta of the game. But with the upcoming release of Warzone 2, fans hope that the developers will bring a balanced meta to the game where every weapon category will have a proper purpose.

The main problem with the current meta of Call of Duty Warzone is the disparity between time-to-kill (TTK) and the lack of effectiveness of certain categories of weapons.

The mainstream meta of Warzone is more partial towards assault rifles and sub-machine guns (SMGs). Why would a player equip a sniper when a long-range AR does the job better, or why would they choose a shotgun when an SMG kills faster at close range?

The game’s current meta is such that the entire category of snipers and shotguns have become ineffective in players’ eyes.

Reddit fans want the meta of Call of Duty Warzone 2 to have a bit more variety

The mainstream meta of Call of Duty Warzone heavily favors ARs as the primary long-range weapon and SMGs as the preferred close-range gun. The low recoil meta allows players to wreck their opponents at long range with just assault rifles.

As such, this category has mostly replaced snipers as the go-to long-range weapon among the operators.

Similar cases can also be observed in close-range engagements where SMGs outperform the shotguns even when the distance is as close as 5-7 meters. Due to these reasons, a severe drop in the pick rate of snipers and shotguns among players has been observed in the Call of Duty Warzone.

The disparity between the performances of certain categories of weapons has been a source of frustration among the players. They hope the meta will be much more balanced and diverse in the upcoming Warzone 2.

Redditor, u/Juken- feels that Call of Duty Warzone has been an excellent experimental board for the developers. They have collected a lot of data on how to nerf or buff the weapons. The Redditor hopes the developers will use this data to deliver more viable mets in Warzone 2.

Reddit user u/Youssef-Elsayed has posted an excellent way to nerf the extreme long-range potential of the ARs and improve the viability of the snipers. He stated that if a second damage drop-off is added to assault rifles at extreme ranges, players must use snipers to engage enemies at that range.

Redditor u/caksut1905 feels streamers mainly determine the meta with a much broader audience. The user thinks that the developers should also emphasize the feedback from the casual players in Warzone 2, who will make up the majority of the playerbase of the game.

Another user has provided a viable way to balance the shotguns so that they can also have a place in the mainstream meta of the game rather than being a niche weapon. He feels that shotguns should have a viable TTK up to 10 meters to perform well in that super-close range. This will improve the weapon’s usability for players willing to take the risk of engaging enemies at such a close range.

Another player feels that if the balancing of weapons is separated for multiplayer and battle royale mode, then the developers will have a much easier time balancing the weapon according to the playstyle and environment of the game.

As of right now, the meta of Call of Duty Warzone is a mess. Since Warzone 2 is being developed from the ground up as a proper battle royale rather than a separate game mode, players hope they will enjoy a balanced and diverse meta in the upcoming title.

How to back up worlds in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition

Sometimes Minecraft players require the ability to make a copy of or “back up” a given world for various reasons. They may be transferring their world to a new device, or perhaps they simply want to copy a world before they make alterations to it, in case they make a mistake.

youtube-cover

For Minecraft: Bedrock Edition players, the process of backing up a world is made incredibly easy and should only take a few moments. Once players back up their world, they’re free to do whatever they want with it, and can even import the backup to a server or realm if they’d like. Regardless, players can find a quick guide to backing up their world in Bedrock Edition below.

Minecraft: How to back up a world in Bedrock Edition step-by-step

It goes without saying that before Minecraft players can back up a given world, they’ll need to have one made first. It’s also possible to back up worlds obtained elsewhere such as the Minecraft Marketplace or from the World Export function via Realms.

As long as the world is accessible from a player’s play menu, they’ll be able to back it up all the same. Furthermore, once the backup is created, it’ll be accessible from the play menu the same as any other world, providing easy access.

How to Back Up Your Bedrock Edition World

youtube-cover
  1. Open the game and click the play button on the main menu.
  2. By default, players will be brought to their world list. Find the world you’d like to back up and click the pencil icon next to the world’s name.
  3. In the world settings menu, scroll down the right window all the way to the bottom. Here, players should find multiple buttons including the export, copy, and delete world buttons.
  4. If players would like to make a standard backup to use in the game that’s currently running, simply click the Copy World button. Doing so will create a localized copy that players can access alongside the main world.
  5. If the players need their world transferred to a different device, select Export World. This will convert the world into a .MCworld file which can then be transferred to another device running Bedrock Edition.

However, it should be noted that the console version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition does not contain the export world function. This is due to most consoles not permitting file browsers on their hardware, so players would have no way of exporting the file and then moving it.

Players who have homebrewed their console may be capable of manipulating the game’s files and can back the world up manually, but homebrewing tends to be against a console manufacturer’s policy and will void its warranty.

If players have a .MCworld file that they’d like to transfer, it should be placed in a reliable location. As a next step, open the game, press the play button and select Import World. Players should then be able to browse to the .MCworld file’s location and import the world to a new device.

League of Legends patch 12.15 is combating smurfs with the new ranked Duo queue changes

League of Legends patch 12.15 dropped yesterday, and a new set of changes have implemented a system that will work towards significantly reducing the number of smurfs in the game.

Like most competitive multiplayer games, the MOBA also sees its fair share of smurfs in ranked matchmaking, which ultimately hampers the game’s competitive integrity.

🛠 Patch 12.15 Notes 🛠⚡️ Energy based champions get a boost 🔧 Fine tuning Mastery Yi and Sivir 💪 Buffing up some engage supports⬇️ Nerfing Divine Sunderer and First Strike

High-rank players often do not shy away from making a smurf account to either help out a friend or just ruin the fun for another who has taken their ranked climb seriously.

This issue has been plaguing League of Legends for many seasons now, and with patch 12.15, Riot has implemented a solution that will look to combat a fair bit of the issue.

The developers have addressed the growing concerns with smurfs earlier on in Season 12, and with the new update, they will eliminate the ranked Duo queue for high-level players and primarily make it a Solo-queue only option.

League of Legends patch 12.15 will reduce the number of smurfs in the game

youtube-cover

League of Legends patch 12.15 wasn’t exactly a big one when it came to introduce champion balance updates. While one of the more significant changes was buffs to the energy champions, the patch, to an extent, dealt with fixing some of the issues with the title.

Riot introduced changes to the Duo queue system, which will now not let high-ranked players employ the system.

In the patch notes, the developers stated:

“Having a premade duo is a slight advantage, and while current Apex Tier (Masters, Grandmaster, and Challenger) players aren’t able to duo with anyone, the system only works off current rank. With this change, we’re tightening up the Apex Tier restriction to apply to MMR as well.”

“The goal of this is to prevent climbing smurfs from being able to duo queue into Apex Tier. That said, decayed Apex Tier players and the highest skilled Diamond I players may also be impacted by this change. Up until now these players could duo and reliably get into Apex Tier games, which isn’t fair when the people they’re playing against can’t duo. If this change works as expected, we’ll evaluate shipping it to the rest of the world with plans to re-evaluate before Season Start.”

youtube-cover

From now on, League of Legends players will no longer be able to queue up for a ranked game with a friend if they are both of the Master rank or higher. The system will not take MMR into consideration and will ultimately look to reduce the number of smurfs that one gets to experience in ranked matchmaking today.

Riot Games have also mentioned that they have successfully tested this method back in patch 12.10 for both the Korea and NA servers, hence, with 12.15, they have officially made it live for all regions.

5 tips to avoid getting lost in Minecraft in 2022

Since Minecraft worlds are so massive and generate for millions of blocks in every direction, losing your way can happen on occasion. This is especially true for newer players who may not have their bearings quite yet.

youtube-cover

Fortunately, there are several strategies to employ that can prevent players from getting lost. Some tactics require items, while others simply demand players to use a little know-how.

Either way, any and all of these tricks are super helpful for both beginners and veterans who may just be returning to the game after a lapse in playing.

Note: This article is subjective and reflects the opinions of the writer.

Minecraft: Tips to remember to avoid getting lost

1) Keep a compass on hand

A compass in Minecraft (Image via Mojang)
A compass in Minecraft (Image via Mojang)

The compass is one of the most helpful items in Minecraft, and it costs very little to make.

Created via four iron ingots and a piece of redstone dust, compasses will always point towards the world spawn. This ensures that players can return to the point where they first arrived in the world.

Furthermore, players can link compasses to lodestone blocks in order to point them to certain locations if the world spawn isn’t preferred.

Compasses can be looted from certain generated structures, including villages, strongholds, shipwrecks, and ancient cities.

2) Using a map

Maps are excellent at keeping track of one's surroundings (Image via Mojang)

Players can create maps in Minecraft either by combining nine pieces of paper in Bedrock Edition or eight pieces of paper and a compass in Java and Bedrock Edition. Maps begin blank, but when players use the item, the map will begin to fill.

As players progress through the area that the map details, they’ll uncover more of the area. Initial map sizes are limited, but players can use cartography tables to increase the amount of ground that maps cover. These items can even keep track of buildings and other locations of note, making them invaluable for beginners in particular.

3) Mark Your Way

Tall towers can mark a player's path (Image via Mojang Bug Report)

As players travel through their Minecraft world, it never hurts to keep some extra easy-to-collect blocks on hand. Specifically, these can be used to create tall structures or other large landmarks for players to look back on if they get lost.

Granted, these landmarks’ effectiveness will depend on how closely they’re built together and how far a player’s render distance is set, but they can be incredibly helpful.

For example, if a player is lost in a forest biome, they can climb to the top of a nearby tree, look to the sky for their last-placed tower, and make their way back to it.

4) Use Console Commands

Console commands can return players to a certain point (Image via Mojang)

If Minecraft players don’t mind having cheats enabled, they can use console commands to keep their bearings no matter where they find themselves in the world.

Players can use commands like /locate to find specific biomes or structures they may be looking for. They can also use the /teleport or /tp command to immediately appear at certain coordinates.

It’s even possible to return to the world spawn or a player’s set spawn point like a bed by using “/tp @s” and then entering the coordinates of the player’s spawn. If players get lost in their Minecraft world, teleporting and other helpful commands can greatly help.

5) Use Map Mods

JourneyMap is a fantastic map mod (Image via frankv_/CurseForge)

If all else fails, it may not be a bad idea to download a map mod and install it to avoid getting lost. Awesome mods like JourneyMap provide players with a minimap to help them keep their bearings while also featuring a larger version viewable in a web browser.

On the larger map, players can mark points of interest or spawn points, and the map is refreshed automatically over time so that players always have up-to-date information on their surroundings.

All Bug Out! 2022 Field Research Tasks and rewards in Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO’s Bug Out! event has returned this year, and trainers can now catch both old and new Bug-type Pokemon. Trainers have access to various new sets of research tasks to complete, including Field Research.

youtube-cover

Field Research in Pokemon GO differs from the game’s Special Research, as it is obtained primarily from spinning Pokestops. The tasks that trainers receive are randomized from a pool, and each task has its own rewards linked to it.

Below, trainers can find a list of what is required for the event’s Field Research and what will be rewarded when the research is completed.

Every Pokemon GO Field Research Task and reward for Bug Out! 2022 listed

This year, the majority of Bug Out!’s Field Research Tasks require Pokemon GO trainers to catch Pokemon. Trainers will also want to practice their throwing mechanics, as some research tasks require certain throw qualities to be completed.

There are also a few miscellaneous tasks to consider. However, they’re fairly simple to complete in-game and won’t be as complex as searching for and catching Pokemon.

Overall, trainers will need to complete 11 different Field Research Tasks.

All Field Research Tasks and Rewards for Bug Out! 2022

  • catch 5 pokemon – Caterpie or Weedle encounter
  • Catch 10 Pokémon – Volbeat, Illumise, Dewpider, Wimpod, or Venipede encounter
  • Catch 15 Pokémon – Burmy encounter, including any of its variants
  • Catch Ten Bug-type Pokemon – Volbeat or Illumise encounter
  • Make Two Excellent Throws – Never encounter
  • Make Three Great Throws – Grubbin encounter
  • Make Three Great Throws In a Row – Paras or Dwebble encounter
  • Make Three Nice Throws – Venonat or Kricketot encounter
  • Make Three Nice Throws In a Row – Silcoon or Cascoon encounter
  • Take Three Different Snapshots of Different Bug Pokemon You’ve Caught – Ledyba, Spinarak, or Yanma encounter
  • trade pokemon – Karrablast or Shelmet encounter
  • Use Ten Berries to Catch Pokemon – Combee or Sewaddle encounter

youtube-cover

The good news for Pokemon GO trainers who are looking to complete this research is that they can use the rewards they obtain to complete other tasks. For example, if players obtain a Venipede from a task, they can capture it and take a picture of it for their snapshot task.

Additionally, during the reward catch encounters, excellent/great/nice throws should also count towards Field Research requirements. The throw requirements may be the toughest out of all the event tasks, as hitting Bug-type Pokemon with accurate throws can be tricky due to their size.

Trading may also be tricky, but Niantic, fortunately, released the Campfire app recently that allows Pokemon GO players to coordinate better if they reside in a similar area. If trainers don’t have any friends nearby, it may not be a bad idea to check out Campfire and look for any trainers in the community that may be nearby.

Is Elden Ring coming to Game Pass? Xbox glitch got fans excited

From Software’s Elden Ring is the biggest game of the year by a wide margin.

Some players recently saw Elden Ring appear on Xbox Cloud Gaming as part of Xbox Game Pass, sparking speculation that the title was coming to the subscription service.

Many other games, such as GTA 5 and Soul Hackers 2, also appeared with the service’s branding on store pages.

youtube-cover

Xbox is no stranger to adding big AAA games to Game Pass. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Elden Ring and some of this year’s biggest titles pop up on the service.

Recently, Grand Theft Auto 5 also appeared as xCloud enabled, which is in line with Microsoft’s push towards the expansion of Cloud Gaming beyond its first-party titles.

Unfortunately for fans of Elden Ring, the game is definitely not coming to the Xbox Game Pass. It appears that all the confusion was caused by a bug.

Details of what went down and why fans thought Elden Ring and other non-Xbox games were coming to Game Pass

Twitter user Klobrille recently shared a screenshot of Xbox’s Cloud Gaming page. On the page, Elden Ring was shown to be part of Game Pass and was ready to be played via xCloud.

Titles such as Dying Light 2, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Resident Evil Village also showed up as part of Game Pass.

A user replied to Krobille’s tweet with a screenshot of an ad that they received, which showed that the FromSoftware title was available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The user got the ad on a loading screen before it redirected him to another page.

In June 2022, Microsoft confirmed their plans to expand the xCloud and Cloud Gaming platform by including non-Game Pass titles with Game Pass Ultimate later this year.

Many players thought this could be the reason why third-party non-Game Pass titles showed up with Game Pass and Cloud Gaming enabled tags.

youtube-cover

Microsoft representative confirms that cloud listing was caused by a bug

A Microsoft representative confirmed to Eurogamer that the cloud listings of non-Game Pass titles were a glitch. An update was even rolled out to fix the issue. The games no longer show up as Game Pass or Cloud Gaming titles.

The representative said:

“We’re aware of a bug that incorrectly displayed some titles as available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. We rolled out a fix and this is now updated.”

The Xbox Game Pass subscription service has been one of the most profitable ventures for Microsoft. It gives players a plethora of quality games at a small monthly fee.

You are the hope of the Golden Order, Tarnished. Your choices will shape the future of all who dwell in the shadow of the Erdtree.#ELDENRING https://t.co/dTp3UC7Q7k

Getting Elden Ring on the service would’ve been really awesome for Xbox and PC Game Pass owners. It would’ve allowed them to experience one of the best games of the year at no extra cost. The game truly redefined the open-world genre while also acting as the natural evolution of FromSoftware’s Dark Souls series.

Why did OTK and MoistCr1TiKaL’s Starforge Systems receive backlash from fans?

Earlier this week, the esports and content-creator organization One True King partnered up with the popular Twitch streamer Charlie “MoistCr1TiKaL” to release their very own PC-building company, Starforge Systems. As expected, the announcement was met with significant excitement from the community. However, upon the price ranges of their PCs being revealed, fans are extremely displeased.

Furthermore, many have also speculated about the lack of marketing strategy and understanding that some of the members of the group, such as Nick “Nmplol”, display, coupled with the fact that Mizkif has allegedly banned or removed users that were critical of the company .

Although MoistCr1TiKaL has attempted to pacify the lambasting comments about the company by claiming to restructure the pricing in the future, fans are still disgruntled.

Looking at what is going wrong for Starforge Systems

Fans have been breathing down the necks of Starforge Systems’ management for several reasons. The primary reason that has upset the fans is the absurd pricing that they have marketed their PCs with.

For context, Starforge’s entry-level gaming PC with the RTX 1660TI and an i3 processor is offered at a price of $1K. However, both the aforementioned components are antiquated in today’s gaming industry and to charge such a hefty amount is considered unjust.

Even though the flagship models feature the latest and most up-to-date equipment and components, their pricing of $2.5K to $3.5K is still rather high, according to many fans. Gaming experts have found that building a PC from scratch is going to cost less and interested gamers can easily save over $1K by avoiding buying from OTK’s latest enterprise.

In addition to all this, there has been severe backlash at the lack of marketing understanding of some of the OTK members. One Reddit user mentioned how Nmplol was completely ignorant of their existing market rivals, such as NZXT, who sell PCs at much lower prices than Starforge.

Matthew “Mizkif” and Zack “Asmongold”, co-owners of OTK, were also embroiled in controversy after they reportedly banned users for expressing their negative opinions on Starforge Systems.

Any provocative response on the livestream during their announcement was encountered with a permanent ban. Any viewer who commented “sell” or used stock”, or sent the “corpa” emote received a perma-ban shortly after, with some bans spanning across multiple OTK channels.

Leading up to the reveal, a few of the streamers participating in the reveal explicitly told their audiences to engage freely. However, the overall negative response to the company’s debut was evidently too much to endure, resulting in major censorship.

After a torrent of criticism, Starforge Systems has altered their prices, but not by a great extent. The opening model PC, which was initially priced at $999.99, is now available at $899.99. Prices for both the flagship models have also been reduced from $2499.99 and $3499.99 to $2399.99 and $3399.99, respectively. The pricing of their second model, Horizon Pro PC, has remained the same.

@StarforgePCs Thank you for the feedback everyone – we’re in this for the long haul and are working tirelessly to deliver the best value and experience possible. Our commitment to improve is unrelenting and we look forward to embarking on this journey with you all.

Additionally, Starforge Systems have also decided to upgrade the hardware of their most expensive PC, the Horizon Creator Edition PC. This review will see the rig featuring a more powerful GPU, the RTX 3090.

It currently remains to be seen how the fans will react to the changes going forward. Despite the heavily staunch reviews, the gaming community remains hopeful of having another functional and healthy PC-making company in the industry.

New Survivor – Ada Wong

New Perk: Wiretap

New Perk: Hyper Focus

  • After hitting a great Skill Check while repairing or healing, this perk gains one token, up to six tokens. Each token increases the chance of Skill Check trigger by 2%, the Skill Check cursor speed by 4% and the bonus progression for great Skill Checks by 10%/20%/30% of its base value. The perk loses all tokens in case of normal Skill Check success, Skill Check fail, or if you stop performing the action by any means.

2) content

The Racoon City Police Station map has been split into two separate layouts:

  • Raccoon City Police Station East Wing
  • Raccoon City Police Station West Wing

Both maps feature new openings to make it easier than ever to navigate, wider hallways to improve gameplay, and are much smaller than the original version.
