Zack “Asmongold” has been playing Tower of Fantasy on his secondary Twitch channel since it was released. Known for his MMORPG streams, the OTK founder has already spent a lot of money on the game. Zack came across the bizarre sight of gigantic in-game mobs while roaming the world and was stunned.

A direct competitor to Hoyoverse’s Genshin Impact, Tower of Fantasy was touted by many as the Genshin killer. With its recent launch for Western audiences, the game is being played by many streamers and has made a spot for itself in the top most-watched games list on Twitch in the last week.

Unfortunately, the game has had quite a rocky launch, with stability issues and multiple instances of bugs and disconnections. The apparent glitch of gigantic characters, however, is probably a hack. Asmongold was flabbergasted at encountering the phenomenon and expressed his disappointment by saying:

“How’s this so bad?”

Like Genshin Impact, Tower of Fantasy is an open-world MMO gacha game with tons to do. Released to Western audiences on August 11, the game has garnered a lot of attention from both gamers and streamers. Being a popular MMO streamer, Asmongold has been playing it extensively on his alternate channel titled zackrawrr.

While roaming the vast world Tower of Fantasy, the streamer was making his way to a world boss called Lady Lucia when the giant NPCs happened to attack him. The absurdly disproportionate size took the Texan by surprise and the only way he could express his astonishment was to repeatedly ask the rhetorical question:

“What? Why? Why?”

The streamer, however, was not determined from trying to kill the mobs. As the towering NPCs gathered to fight, Asmongold declared that he would fight them no matter their size:

“I mean, I’ll take care of all these guys. This is no big deal to me. You think I’m afraid of them just ’cause they’re big?”

After making short work of the monkeys, the streamer made his way to boss Lucia, but being starkly underleveled, could not put a dent in her health bar. Despite the fact that her huge character model of her had clipped through the ground and she could not attack him back.

Suspecting foul play, I tried restarting the game. Even that wasn’t enough to fix the issue, and the streamer had to change his channel lines to get rid of the funny but irritating bug.

His chat clearly found it hilarious as NPCs around him started to appear as behemoths compared to his character model. They flooded his stream with laughing emoticons:

A YouTube commenter by the moniker “A Boy Lost in Thoughts” had a theory about the bug being a hacker trying to mess with the streamer’s game:

“Think its not a bug but somebody hacked amd [sic] changed the code in that server. Because it doesn’t happen in my server or region”

Tower of Fantasy is far from a polished game, and while it does have features such as customization, many streamers and gamers still feel that Genshin Impact is the superior game.

During a recent livestream on his alternate Twitch channel Zackrawrr, the content creator reacted to lore videos related to the League of Legends universe, and was left bedazzled after watching a CGI video titled “The Call | Season 2022 Cinematic.”

Following this, Asmongold provided his opinions on the massively multiplayer game that is in development at Riot Games and claimed that the latter has “everything that they need to succeed.” He said:

“I hope that the… I hope it’s good. I think this is like one of those situations where it’s like, everything is in their, in like, they have everything that they need to succeed.”

Zack has regularly been streaming on his alternative Twitch channel over the past few days and has spent recent broadcasts playing the newly launched open-world multiplayer game Tower of Defense.

At the three-hour mark of his August 12 stream, Asmongold reacted to some of the most viral League of Legends content and came across YouTuber Necrit’s titled videos “The World of Riot’s MMO is Already Done.”

Fans then asked the World of Warcraft gamer to view the CGI cinematic trailer produced by Riot Games, which was released earlier this year. Zack commented on the game’s hype after noticing that the video had garnered more than 135 million views:

“Okay, let’s see it. By the way, like, for the amount of hype that this game has, this came out f***ing seven months ago, it has a 138 million views. If you compare that to the Dragonflight ( World of Warcraft’s upcoming expansion) announcement, it has two million views.”

The OTK co-founder was impressed after watching the cinematic video and hoped that the upcoming MMORPG would do well. He stated that Riot Games has everything needed for the game to succeed and said:

“They have a tremendous, massive existing fan base, they have an apparently gigantic, f***ing world, that I didn’t even really know, like 95% of. They have a like… a huge company. So , because it’s a huge company, they can spend a tremendous amount of money. They don’t have a history of games that have pay-to-win, and that.”

Asmongold cited Valorant and League of Legends as examples to highlight Riot Games’ huge success:

“So, it’s like, every single time, like, you know, one of these games comes out and people worry about, and it seems like, you know, they have the foundation, they have the resources, and also like, they have come success too. Valorant is a great game, League of Legends is a great game. Everybody hates League of Legends, but they still do play it.”

He continued further by saying:

“So, it’s like, I feel like they’ve made very, very good games, and they’ve cupped up with those good games.”

The discussion came to a close when Asmongold confirmed that he would play Riot Games’ MMORPG once it releases.

Aside from this, the American game developers also stated that they’re simultaneously working on a fighting game codenamed Project L, and an action-adventure game codenamed Project F.

The streamer is a known completionist and has been hosting mount and rare item collection streams on his alternate Twitch channel.

After being unable to get a rare item called Necroray Egg from an in-game box, Tribute of the Ambitious, Zack stated that he has taken the matter to Blizzard Entertainment and complained about the drop rates of such items.

The OTK (One True King) co-founder is a vocal critic of the game and does not shy away from providing his opinions on Blizzard Entertainment’s hugely popular MMORPG.

On August 8, Zack was busy farming rare items and mounts on stream. While he was at it, he completed the required activities to get a box called Tribute of the Ambitious, which had a chance to contain a rare mount, Necroray.

After opening the box and failing to get the mount, Asmongold revealed that he complained about the matter to Blizzard Entertainment and asked his viewers if they were interested in seeing what he wrote to the game developer.

Fans expressed their eagerness, so the streamer opened a word document and began reading the message out loud:

“What is the design goal with the Necroray Eggs that drop from the Maldraxxus calling boxes? Personally, I’ve opened ~170 boxes and received 0 eggs, and while I thought maybe I was having bad luck, I looked online, and there were people who had opened over 300 without seeing a single egg.”

Asmongold claimed that the average player would likely spend a year farming the items in the hopes of acquiring them:

“Assuming the chance of getting an egg is between 1-50 and 1 and 100, an average player would have to spend an entire YEAR farming these callings, assuming equal representation of covenants (anyone serious would be Maldraxxus covenant so they could get the generic ‘complete Maw encounters’ and ‘collect rare items’ etc. callings to reward a Maldraxxus box as well as they are given based on your current covenant) to obtain just one of these eggs, let alone the three that are required to have all the mounts.”

Zack continued by saying that if the low chance of the item dropping was an intended design, he would continue farming them. However, it felt excessive that a player had to work so hard for an item that was merely a recolor of a mount that was released two expansions ago:

“As someone who’s collected every single paragon mount in the game, farming these has to be a dramatic departure from the rest in a generally negative way. Looking at comments on Wowhead, others feel the same. If this is actually the intended design, then so be it! I’ll keep farming lol. However, it seems disproportionate that a reward you need 3x of that’s just a recolor from the 7.3 Argus Ray takes seemingly over 10 times longer to obtain.”

The strong message to Blizzard Entertainment came to an end as Asmongold claimed that he did not want to come off as an angry mount collector and was only expressing legitimate concerns regarding the low chances of obtaining certain rewards:

“I don’t want to come off like a mount collector who’s salty, they didn’t get the drop (I am), but moreso draw attention and ask a legitimate question considering there’s a good chance it might not be intended, given the precedent set by previous paragon box/calling box rewards.”

After reading the message, Asmongold added some final thoughts on the subject:

“I genuinely don’t believe that there was any thinking involved. It’s just thrown in there haphazardly and without really any consideration. You know what another example is? It’s like Blizzard didn’t even know the health of Castle Nathria bosses went up. “

Dragonflight is the much awaited update to the massively popular MMO by Blizzard. With many referring to the new features as one of the best additions to World of Warcraft in a long time, tensions run high as Blizzard continues to update the alpha with new patches.

Blizzard is notorious for making anti-player decisions and has faced massive backlash for many choices in the past. The most recent nerf to Dracthyr’s Soar ability, which used to let players fly at speeds of up to 930%, has reduced the speed to boost by 30%, angering a lot of fans.

Asmongold seemed to be one of them as he reacted to a comparison video by Maximus from the Liquid Guild, which showcased the extent of the nerf. The streamer described the pre-nerf ability as fun and enjoyable, saying:

“This is how fast it used to be. Look at this. Look how cool that is man.”

I have used a few choice words while describing the current way Soar works, calling it lame:

“It’s worse, yeah i know. It’s lame. How cringe.”

Clearly disappointed with the nerf, Asmongold revealed that changes like this have made him question the new update:

“As I said, that change made me lose more, uh, hope for Blizzard with Dragonflight than anything else. Like, if they don’t change that I’m going to expect Dragonflight to be dog a** sh*t.”

Blizzard’s reasoning for the change was that the ability was overpowered because it was exclusive to the Dracthyr race. The developers revealed that their playtest showed no change in fun factor, noting:

“Soar is also a Racial ability, and was never intended to be a massive efficiency or performance improvement over other races… What we’ve found while playing these changes internally is that the speed change didn’t diminish the fun of the locomotion mechanics.”

Maximus, like many other World of Warcaft fans, did not find the reasoning substantial for the nerf, and he made his feelings clear by expressing:

“At this point I’m inclined to believe Blizzard hates good feedback and makes sure it never happens.”

Other YouTube comments showed a similar sentiment, with many remembering previous features that were nerfed by Blizzard. A few even had theories of why the developers were purposefully nerfing things.
