How to destroy cracked stone walls in Tower of Fantasy

Tower of Fantasy has finally arrived in the West, and players are diving into the futuristic open-world MMORPG en masse. However, they’re sure to encounter more than their fair share of obstacles as they explore the world.

youtube-cover

One such obstacle in Tower of Fantasy is cracked stone walls, sometimes referred to as Sanctuary Rocks. Once broken, these walls can occasionally lead to many treasures, which makes them worth breaking.

However, players won’t be removing these cracked walls with their ordinary weapons. They’ll need help from a particular relic obtained through the game’s story.

To break cracked rock walls in Tower of Fantasy, players will need to use a Super Rare quality relic known as the Missile Barrage. The relic places a launcher behind the player for eight seconds, firing a barrage of missiles to deal damage to enemies.

However, these relics can also be used to shatter cracked walls. Fortunately, players should be able to receive a Missile Barrage relic relatively easily by simply playing the story. To get this relic, players will want to enter Ruin A01.

Doing so should reward players with the Missile Barrage, and eleven players clear the ruin, they can do as they please with the relic. Players can also upgrade the relic to increase its potency. However, no upgrades are required to shatter the rock walls that are encountered throughout the open-world MMO.

youtube-cover

Once players have obtained their Missile Barrage, they simply need to search for cracked rock walls. When the wall is encountered, all players need to do is aim the relic and activate it with whatever button or keybind they are using (F is the standard keybind in many circumstances).

The missiles should fly out and impact the wall at multiple points, shattering it and allowing players to uncover what the wall was protecting. In addition to shattering cracked walls, Missile Barrages are quite helpful when taking on opponents. The missiles fired are numerous and deal solid damage, especially when many missiles make contact with their target.

Furthermore, sequential upgrades increase the missile damage, as well as the duration for which missiles are fired. At the five-star upgrade, more missiles are fired from the launcher, making Missile Barrage a deadly relic to keep on hand.

Considering that players can get a free Missile Barrage from Ruin A01, it’s also a great relic for beginners. The ruin is far from difficult, and progressing along the game’s storyline should allow players to become strong enough to tackle any and all challenges they might see inside the ruins. Furthermore, having Missile Barrage available during the run can make things even simpler.

Asmongold encounters hilarious glitch in Tower of Fantasy as NPCs become literal giants

Zack “Asmongold” has been playing Tower of Fantasy on his secondary Twitch channel since it was released. Known for his MMORPG streams, the OTK founder has already spent a lot of money on the game. Zack came across the bizarre sight of gigantic in-game mobs while roaming the world and was stunned.

youtube-cover

A direct competitor to Hoyoverse’s Genshin Impact, Tower of Fantasy was touted by many as the Genshin killer. With its recent launch for Western audiences, the game is being played by many streamers and has made a spot for itself in the top most-watched games list on Twitch in the last week.

Unfortunately, the game has had quite a rocky launch, with stability issues and multiple instances of bugs and disconnections. The apparent glitch of gigantic characters, however, is probably a hack. Asmongold was flabbergasted at encountering the phenomenon and expressed his disappointment by saying:

“How’s this so bad?”

Asmongold encounters bizarre bug in Tower of Fantasy and has to change channel lines to avoid it

Like Genshin Impact, Tower of Fantasy is an open-world MMO gacha game with tons to do. Released to Western audiences on August 11, the game has garnered a lot of attention from both gamers and streamers. Being a popular MMO streamer, Asmongold has been playing it extensively on his alternate channel titled zackrawrr.

While roaming the vast world Tower of Fantasy, the streamer was making his way to a world boss called Lady Lucia when the giant NPCs happened to attack him. The absurdly disproportionate size took the Texan by surprise and the only way he could express his astonishment was to repeatedly ask the rhetorical question:

“What? Why? Why?”

(Timestamp 1:22:57)

The streamer, however, was not determined from trying to kill the mobs. As the towering NPCs gathered to fight, Asmongold declared that he would fight them no matter their size:

“I mean, I’ll take care of all these guys. This is no big deal to me. You think I’m afraid of them just ’cause they’re big?”

After making short work of the monkeys, the streamer made his way to boss Lucia, but being starkly underleveled, could not put a dent in her health bar. Despite the fact that her huge character model of her had clipped through the ground and she could not attack him back.

Suspecting foul play, I tried restarting the game. Even that wasn’t enough to fix the issue, and the streamer had to change his channel lines to get rid of the funny but irritating bug.

fan reactions

His chat clearly found it hilarious as NPCs around him started to appear as behemoths compared to his character model. They flooded his stream with laughing emoticons:

A YouTube commenter by the moniker “A Boy Lost in Thoughts” had a theory about the bug being a hacker trying to mess with the streamer’s game:

“Think its not a bug but somebody hacked amd [sic] changed the code in that server. Because it doesn’t happen in my server or region”

Tower of Fantasy is far from a polished game, and while it does have features such as customization, many streamers and gamers still feel that Genshin Impact is the superior game.

How to download the Tower of Fantasy APK file

Tower of Fantasy is intended to be played on Android or iOS devices, but players can get their hands on a PC port of the mobile version. The open-world gacha adventure is taking the gaming world by storm, rivaling the extremely popular Genshin Impact. This has players trying to access it by any means necessary.

Those who want to give the mobile version to go on a PC have to download an APK file. This file will include the game and all of its assets, allowing Windows and macOS users to enjoy the experience on their computers rather than their phones.

How to install APK file for Tower of Fantasy

APK is short for Android Package Kit. It is a file format used by Android systems to install games and apps. APKs are often used to bypass the need to use the Google Play store to download applications for the purpose of running them on a PC.

When it comes to Tower of Fantasy, there are quite a few APK files already available. There are several sites that allow users to download files of this type. A trustworthy name in this regard is APKCombo, which can be accessed through a PC browser or a web browser on a mobile device. The download size for the game is around 950 MB and will include everything it has to offer.

This is what the APKCombo site when you're about to download Tower of Fantasy APK (Image via APKCombo)
This is what the APKCombo site when you’re about to download Tower of Fantasy APK (Image via APKCombo)

Here is how to download the APK file and install it on PC:

  • Head to the APKCombo page to get the game’s APK file.
  • Install an Android emulator on the PC (the APKCombo page recommends LDPlayer and has a download link available).
  • Download the APK file on the PC.
  • Follow the instructions given in the chosen emulator to drag and drop the APK file into it.
  • Wait for it to be installed into the emulator.

The steps for installing an APK file on an Android-based mobile device are very similar:

  • Go to the APKCombo page and tap on the file to begin downloading it.
  • Tap on the file if it appears in the notification drop-down menu or navigate to the device’s download folder.
  • Accept the installation of the APK file and then follow the on-screen prompts for the specific device to complete a full installation.

After following the steps and getting the APK file for Tower of Fantasy installed, players can dive right in. They just need to open the file on mobile devices or select it through the emulator on PC.

This method of downloading and installation works well for many different mobile games. Moreover, gamers who want to pre-download a title that may not be available in their region yet can do it using the steps mentioned above.

If for whatever reason the APK file does not work, try and search for another trustworthy source to download it to use with the emulator. If that still doesn’t do the trick, the problem could be the emulator itself, so download a different one and try again.

How to break Sanctuary Rocks in Tower of Fantasy

Throughout Tower of Fantasy, players will come across Sanctuary Rocks that will lead to a hidden room on the other side. These rocks are giant walls with cracks in them that are highlighted when a player targets them. It takes more than a simple target and attack combination to open them up, however.

youtube-cover

The only way to break open the Sanctuary Rocks and access the area on the other side is by using a Relic called the Missile Barrage. This can be obtained fairly early in the game, in one of the very first dungeons.

How to break rock walls in Tower of Fantasy with missiles

The Missile Barrage will decimate Sanctuary Rocks in Tower of Fantasy (Image via Perfect World)

Players will quickly realize that Sanctuary Rocks are near-indestructible, even though they look somewhat destroyed already. Moreover, Tower of Fantasy doesn’t really explain how they can be fully broken at the start. To do that, the Missile Barrage is the tool needed.

Missile Barrage is a Relic that can be utilized in and out of combat. In both instances, the Relic spawns a missile launcher behind the player and fires several missiles forward.

The Relic can be made to shoot missiles wildly or in a specific direction by targeting hostiles and rock walls. Each missile that lands deals a solid 34.8% damage based on the player’s ATK stat, which means the entire barrage can dish out a lot of hurt.

Players just need to open the Relics menu and select the Missile Barrage. It can be assigned to one of the Relic shortcut buttons or activated right from the Relics page.

If missiles are used on Sanctuary Rocks, they will break. A massive hole will be opened that Tower of Fantasy players will be able to enter, revealing an area devoid of enemies. Players can rest here for a moment and potentially find a lot of treasure as well.

How to acquire the Missile Barrage

Getting the Missile Barrage Relic depends on how fast players move through the first chapter in Tower of Fantasy. Those that focus on the story and its missions instead of exploring aimlessly can get to that point rather quickly.

By completing the main questline, players will eventually be introduced to the dungeons. These are called Ruins, and the first one, Ruins A-01, must be completed to forward the story.

While inside Ruins A-01, players will stumble upon a character named Smart Servant Peanut. Interacting with this NPC will grant them the Enchanted Cube Relic. This item can be opened to reveal the Missile Barrage Relic.

This is the first weekend with #ToF! Have you and your team joined us yet? 🤗Share your best footage of you&your teammates with #ToFweekendparty and @ them! We will draw 1 team to win a $50 pizza voucher + more mystery gifts from our friends! 🍕Stay tuned for more prizes! 💰 https://t.co/C1ImKzcN0c

The game will provide a brief explanation regarding the Missile Barrage tool and allow players to use it for the first time; several Sanctuary Rocks are found inside Ruins A-01 that can be broken down with the Relic.

The remainder of the dungeon needs to be beaten, including its final boss, so that players can continue exploring in Tower of Fantasy and utilize the Missile Barrage on Sanctuary Rocks elsewhere.

How to see your mail in Tower of Fantasy

Players are able to communicate back and forth by sending each other mail in Tower of Fantasy.

It is great to talk to friends in chat while playing. However, sometimes, the schedules of two players do not align, and players need to send messages to keep their teammates in the loop. This is where the ToF mail system comes into play.

youtube-cover

The game’s mail system also acts as a channel for players to obtain their rewards. There could be compensation for server issues or log-in rewards waiting in the mailbox. Thus, players should be on the lookout for an envelope at all times.

If a player is in the middle of a session, they will be immediately notified of any mail. An envelope icon will appear in the top left corner of the screen, next to the minimap.

For those who receive mail while they are logged out of Tower of Fantasy, the envelope icon will be waiting there when they sign back in. Be sure to look for the envelope after logging in to make sure that you are always up to date.

Here is how to open the mailbox and read through the mail sent from friends or the development team:

  • Mobile players can tap on the envelope icon to directly open their mailbox
  • PC players are able to click it with their mouse while holding the Alt key to bring the mailbox screen up
  • If there is no new mail and players want to access the mailbox, they can click on the three hexagons at the top right corner
  • Selecting the Friends menu will allow access to the Social Networking section which has a Mailbox tab that can be viewed
  • The left side of the Mailbox tab will hold all of the mail that has been received and not deleted up until that point
  • Click or tap on the mail to see what it says

Players have a 400 mail limit before they run out of space in their inbox. There are also a couple of handy buttons underneath that players should be aware of.

One button is labeled “Claim All.” Pressing that button will automatically claim every reward. The other option is “Delete All,” which will delete all mail and clear up space in the mailbox.

  • A letter area will appear
  • Type your letter up to 50 characters and send it

Once players get a response, they can follow the aforementioned steps to check their mail and reply.

Chemtech Drake is set to make its return along with League of Legends’ pre-season 2023

Chemtech Drake is arguably one of the most infamous dragon souls within League of Legends. The buff that it provided and the way in which it altered the entire map were so obnoxious that the developers themselves decided to just ban it across the board.

However, it seems that, along with pre-season 2023, the developers are finally ready to introduce Chemtech Drake back into the game. The changes that it is set to receive have been discussed in this article in detail.

youtube-cover

It is tough to predict how fans will react to the Chemtech Drake’s return, as it was quite an issue before. However, the changes to the dragon soul are likely to make it much more balanced this time around.

Chemtech soul will no longer revive champions within League of Legends

The previous version of Chemtech soul is often considered the strongest and most obnoxious in the list for a pretty valid reason. This is because, once the soul was obtained, it provided champions with a sort of ‘last stand’ type ability, where they would revive for a few seconds and were able to deal damage before dying shortly after.

As expected, these vital few seconds made a massive difference in fights as it prevented the team without the Chemtech soul from gaining any substantial gold lead. Besides that, once the Chemtech Drake took over the map, it created camouflage zones everywhere.

Put that chemtech drake back in the basement i’m so serious I can already feel it getting removed again within 2 weeks

This, in turn, made pink ward management a nightmare for players. With the developers failing to find a proper solution to this, they decided to remove it from the game for the time being.

Changes to Chemtech Drake in League of Legends

As it so happens, the developers seem to have found a solution to the issues mentioned earlier, as the new Chemtech Soul will no longer briefly revive champions. Instead, it will now provide additional damage as well as damage reduction when their health is low.

Along with this change, once the Chemtech Drake takes over the map, interactive plants will become mutated. This means that Scryer’s Bloom will now grant movement speed while chasing revealed enemies and Blast Cone will fling players further than before.

Hello @RiotPhroxzon, I’ve just seen the new LoL Pls video, the changes to communication & vision seem really cool, also pretty excited about chemtech drake coming back. I have to admit though, I’m pretty disappointed to here nothing about toplane and seeing jungle changed again.

For clarity, players will be able to travel from the blue buff to the mid lane by simply using the Blast Cone once the Chemtech Drake takes over.

Out of all these changes, the mutation aspect is definitely interesting. However, the increased damage and damage reduction can be problematic, especially if there is a champion like Tryndamere on the team.

Perhaps, this may be something that League of Legends developers will need to balance once the Chemtech Drake returns to Summoner’s Rift.

Asmongold comments on Riot’s upcoming MMORPG

Twitch star Zack “Asmongold” provided his thoughts on the MMORPG that is currently being developed by Riot Games.

During a recent livestream on his alternate Twitch channel Zackrawrr, the content creator reacted to lore videos related to the League of Legends universe, and was left bedazzled after watching a CGI video titled “The Call | Season 2022 Cinematic.”

youtube-cover

Following this, Asmongold provided his opinions on the massively multiplayer game that is in development at Riot Games and claimed that the latter has “everything that they need to succeed.” He said:

“I hope that the… I hope it’s good. I think this is like one of those situations where it’s like, everything is in their, in like, they have everything that they need to succeed.”

Asmongold compares World of Warcraft to Riot Games’ upcoming MMORPG, and provides his thoughts

Zack has regularly been streaming on his alternative Twitch channel over the past few days and has spent recent broadcasts playing the newly launched open-world multiplayer game Tower of Defense.

At the three-hour mark of his August 12 stream, Asmongold reacted to some of the most viral League of Legends content and came across YouTuber Necrit’s titled videos The World of Riot’s MMO is Already Done.”

youtube-cover

Fans then asked the World of Warcraft gamer to view the CGI cinematic trailer produced by Riot Games, which was released earlier this year. Zack commented on the game’s hype after noticing that the video had garnered more than 135 million views:

“Okay, let’s see it. By the way, like, for the amount of hype that this game has, this came out f***ing seven months ago, it has a 138 million views. If you compare that to the Dragonflight ( World of Warcraft’s upcoming expansion) announcement, it has two million views.”

Timestamp: 03:58:24

The OTK co-founder was impressed after watching the cinematic video and hoped that the upcoming MMORPG would do well. He stated that Riot Games has everything needed for the game to succeed and said:

“They have a tremendous, massive existing fan base, they have an apparently gigantic, f***ing world, that I didn’t even really know, like 95% of. They have a like… a huge company. So , because it’s a huge company, they can spend a tremendous amount of money. They don’t have a history of games that have pay-to-win, and that.”

Asmongold cited Valorant and League of Legends as examples to highlight Riot Games’ huge success:

“So, it’s like, every single time, like, you know, one of these games comes out and people worry about, and it seems like, you know, they have the foundation, they have the resources, and also like, they have come success too. Valorant is a great game, League of Legends is a great game. Everybody hates League of Legends, but they still do play it.”

He continued further by saying:

“So, it’s like, I feel like they’ve made very, very good games, and they’ve cupped up with those good games.”

The discussion came to a close when Asmongold confirmed that he would play Riot Games’ MMORPG once it releases.

Fans react to the streamer’s initial thoughts on Riot Games’ MMORPG

The YouTube comment section featured more than 1,000 fan comments, and here’s a snippet of some of the most relevant ones:

Why Final Fantasy VII Remake’s VR mod is a ‘bad idea’ for gamers with motion sickness

Thanks to a modder, Final Fantasy VII Remake players now have access to a VR mod called the “ultimate VR legs test.” The creator of the mod, Luke Ross, previously worked on GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 VR mods, though Take-Two did not appreciate the gamer’s work and sent a DMCA notice.

While it can be an immersive way to experience Cloud Strife’s adventure, is this really such a good idea? VR motion sickness is incredibly discomforting, and even people who think they won’t be affected can wind up being miserable as a result of this particular mod.

This isn’t to say that the mod is terrible or that it’s a bad idea, not at all. It is, however, going to potentially be nausea-inducing for many gamers.

youtube-cover

Final Fantasy VII Remake’s VR mod is an interesting but potentially nauseating idea

The notion of action RPGs set in VR is an interesting one, at the very least. It’s a way to dive deep into a game like Final Fantasy VII Remake in a way that no other experience can match.

People experienced with VR may not have issues with this particular mod, but anyone who experiences remote motion sickness will want to be aware of what they could be getting into. Several videos are available on YouTube showing the Final Fantasy VII Remake in VR, filled with constant shaky camera motions.

The writer of this piece watched several but could not get through them. The constant motion, combined with the combat and cutscenes, was nearly unbearable. A word of caution came from Luke Ross, the creator of the VR mod.

youtube-cover

He warned that it would “hit you with the force of a speeding steel train.” Even experienced VR gamers might have some issues playing it, but that’s not guaranteed. It’s incredibly immersive to walk into the Reactor areas and be able to look up at the skyline and see the world.

Combat was already fast and furious in Final Fantasy VII Remake, but in VR, it’s going to be multiplied by a fairly serious amount. The creator of the VR mod even talked about it briefly in a post online.

“Sooo…Tifa! And cities in the sky! And combat where the camera moves so fast that it feels like you’re riding the Formula Rossa!! What’s not to like?

It’s not just combat that would be difficult to watch either. The various driving cutscenes and events would be potentially very nauseating to endure. There’s the motorcycle stage and any cutscene that involves flipping, jumping, or quick combat.

The cutscenes and fights involving Tifa and Barret while beneath Midgar could be a horrifying experience. All that jumping, leaping, and dodging while in VR, in addition to the shaky cam from the VR headset? The writer of this piece had to take breaks when watching video clips from other YouTubers.

The wild, savage way that Cloud swings the Buster Sword when combined with constant camera motions can be incredibly taxing to watch, and gamers with motion sickness in or outside of Virtual Reality should definitely be careful before considering this particular mod for their PC version of Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Sodapoppin regrets not moving to Mixer in 2019

During a recent OTK livestream, popular Twitch streamer Thomas Chance “Sodapoppin” expressed his regrets for not moving to Microsoft’s Mixer when it was scouring platforms for talent.

Mixer gained immense popularity in 2019 and also signed massive exclusive deals with streaming phenomena Tyler “Ninja” and Michael “Shroud.”

Expressing his frustration, the Twitch streamer revealed that he missed out on an unbelievable amount of money that other streamers received for joining the interactive streaming platform. With that being said, Mixer’s acquisitions didn’t amount to much as it was shut down in 2020.

The streamer lamented nonetheless:

“I f**king wish I went to Mixer.

Sodapoppin reveals why he is jealous of Ninja and Shroud for moving from Twitch to Mixer

Sodapoppin has been among the top Twitch streamers for over a decade, boasting over 8.8 million followers on the platform. This figure makes him the 10th biggest channel on the Amazon-owned medium, behind high-profile streamers such as Ninja, xQc, and Pokimane.

The 28-year-old is mainly known for his IRL and gaming streams, which include various top titles such as World of WarCraft.

Sodapoppin recently joined the One True King Twitch channel for a livestream of their new PC building service Starforge. However, during the August 11, 2022 broadcast, the Twitch powerhouse revealed why he was willing to ditch the purple platform for the now defunct Mixer in 2019.

youtube-cover

The streamer even explained why he was jealous of Ninja and Shroud, both of whom accrued a massive fortune in their deals with Mixer. Furthermore, following the platform’s downfall, both streamers were able to return to Twitch, much to Sodapoppin’s annoyance. The clip has already crossed over 63k views on Twitch alone.

Regretting his decision, the American streamer lamented:

“I f**king wish I went to Mixer, I’m so jealous. These f**k-sticks signed these contracts for tens of millions of dollars, and then they got to come back! They shut down, and they get to keep the f**king money.”

I have further added:

“Do you know how that feels, to like get a contract and be like ‘Hmm, morals?! And I keep getting f**ked! I’m just gonna start doing shady sh*t. It hurts. Goddammit. The Mixer deal, f**k man, I wish I’d signed that s**t, I really do.”

About Mixer

Emphasizing on interaction between streamers, viewers and low stream latency, the start-up was acquired by Microsoft in 2016 for an undisclosed amount. It quickly entered the limelight with incredible features such as faster-than-light technology and multiple highly synchronized feeds.

Due to its increasing prominence, many reckoned Mixers could dominate the streaming industry and compete against Twitch. However, that wasn’t the case as it egregiously failed to replicate its rival’s follower count.

Millions invested in securing top creators didn’t translate to significant viewership as their overall growth on the platform was painfully poor. Following much scrutiny, it was shut down by Microsoft in July 2020.
