“This is a business that has its tentacles in all different parts of the economy. To show such broad revenue and earnings strength throughout the franchise, it gives me a lot of confidence that the broader economy is performing pretty well,” said Jim Shanaham, analyst at investment firm Edward Jones reported the Australian Financial Review.

The company revealed its revenue grew by more than 10 per cent to $US76.2 billion ($A110 billion) in the quarter as many of its businesses increased prices.

Elon Musk reignites bitter feud with US politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Elon Musk has said US politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has “great taste in lipstick” in an apparent reignition of his feud with the New York Congresswoman.

The Tesla CEO made the remark on a podcast called full-sendin which several co-hosts made comments about the 32-year-old politician’s appearance.

Two of the co-hosts called AOC “attractive,” then another said the New York Democrat was “all right,” the new york post reports.

Musk then chimed in, saying, “Yeah, great choice of lipstick I think. Great taste in lipstick, I mean, that’s my observation. That’s a genuine compliment.”

Musk then added, “Tell me I’m wrong,” before sipping an alcoholic seltzer and laughing alongside the podcast hosts.

AOC’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Musk’s remarks.

The world’s richest man has a history of sparring with Ms Ocasio-Cortez.

In April, the politician tweeted: “Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform.”

Musk responded: “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy.”

Ms Ocasio-Cortez then said that she’d been referring to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg – not Musk – then deleted the tweet.

She later posted a screenshot of her back-and-forth with Musk with a shrugging emoji and the caption: “Like I said, ego problems.”

Then in May, she said she was looking to ditch her Tesla Model 3, which she bought in 2020 for commutes between her New York City district and Washington DC She said she was looking to buy a car from a company that uses union labor.

“At the time, it was the only EV [electric vehicle] that could get me from New York to Washington on like one, or one-and-a-half charges,” she said of her Tesla. “I would love to switch.”

Musk, meanwhile, posted a Twitter poll asking his followers whether they have more trust in billionaires or politicians.

His followers chose billionaires – and Musk dared Ms Ocasio-Cortez to run the same poll with her own followers.

The Tesla CEO recounted the exchange on last week’s podcast episode, saying that Ms Ocasio-Cortez “was like coming after me or some bulls**t, I don’t know”.

“She was saying billionaires are evil and you’re a billionaire therefore you’re evil,” Musk said. “And I was like, well you’re a politician.

“People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones,” he added.

Elon Musk says $63.7 billion Twitter takeover could move ahead with bot info

Elon Musk says his planned $US44 billion ($63.7 billion) takeover of Twitter should move forward if the company can confirm some details about how it measures whether user accounts are “spam bots” or real people.

The billionaire and Tesla CEO have been trying to back out of his April agreement to buy the social media company, leading Twitter to sue him last month to complete the acquisition.

Mr Musk countersued, accusing Twitter of misleading his team about the true size of its user base and other problems he said amounted to fraud and breach of contract.

Both sides are headed toward an October trial in a Delaware court.

“If Twitter simply provides their method of sampling 100 accounts and how they’re confirmed to be real, the deal should proceed on original terms,” Mr Musk tweeted.

“However, if it turns out that their SEC filings are materially false, then it should not.”

Mr Musk, who has more than 100 million Twitter followers, went on to challenge Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal to a “public debate about the Twitter bot percentage.”

Twitter declined to comment.

The company has repeatedly disclosed to the Securities and Exchange Commission an estimate that fewer than 5 per cent of user accounts are fake or spam, with a disclaimer that it could be higher.

Mr Musk waived his right to further due diligence when he signed the April merger agreement.

Elon Musk’s dad Errol Musk denies he is ‘not proud’ of his son after Kyle and Jackie O Show comments

Elon Musk’s father created a whirlwind of controversy this week after telling Australian radio hosts he is not proud of his billionaire son.

Errol Musk, 76, told Daily Mail Australia his three daughters were so upset with the comments on Kyle and Jackie O they refused to speak to him for days.

But the retired electrical engineer said the comments were misunderstood and that he didn’t properly hear the question.

‘Elon knows it’s not true, so he would never get upset about it. He just laughs this kind of stuff off,’ Mr Musk said.

‘But the last message Elon sent to me was ”Dad, the press play you like a fiddle so please keep quiet”.’

While the two have shared a somewhat rocky relationship over the years, Mr Musk said he had been proud of Elon since ‘the day he was born’.

Errol Musk (right) said his billionaire son Elon (left) knows his comments to Kyle and Jackie O are ‘not true’ – ‘he would never get upset about it. He just laughs this kind of stuff off’

The media storm follows bombshell revelations last month that Mr Musk has fathered two children with his stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout, 34.

It also comes on the heels of Elon’s ongoing tensions with US President Joe Biden – as well as his bitter legal fight to pull out of the $44 billion ($63billion AUD) Twitter buyout, something his father says he may partly be responsible for.

The Australian radio interview

During Monday’s radio interview on KIIS FM, Jackie O said: ‘Your offspring is a genius. He’s worth so much money and has created so many things, you can’t take that away from him. Are you proud?’

But Mr Musk shocked listeners by replying ‘no’.

‘You know, we are a family that have been doing a lot of things for a long time, it’s not as if we suddenly started doing something,’ Errol replied.

I have clarified the awkward mix-up by saying: ‘I didn’t actually notice her question about being proud? I thought she asked “were you expecting this coming?”

‘It was only when I listened to the recording afterwards that I realized.’

Mr Musk, who was calling from South Africa, said he simply got lost in the conversation of the energetic hosts.

‘It was a bit more confusing because the other chap (Kyle), who was a nice fellow, was laughing a lot so I never quite picked up what she (Jackie O) was saying while I was talking,’ he said.

‘If you ask any parent if they are proud of their son, you are proud of them from the day they are born.’

But while he knows Elon is far too busy to be concerned about how his comments were reported, he revealed his daughters were extremely upset.

‘I still fly airplanes but my kids think I should go to a retirement home after that,’ he joked.

‘All three of them got a hold of me and said “what’s wrong with you, how could you possibly say something like that?”

‘Alexandra wouldn’t even speak to me. I kept sending her messages from her but she refused to talk.’

Mr Musk has since explained his mistake and he and his daughters are once again on good terms.

Backlash after having children with his stepdaughter

Kyle and Jackie O also asked Mr Musk about his relationship with 34-year-old stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout – who he was married to and shares two young children with.

He was married to her mother Heide Bezuidenhout in the early 1990s for two years before they divorced and Jana was placed in foster care.

‘I never really saw her much at all after that but Then in about 2014, she wrote to me and said she was in a desperate situation living in a store room with some chap and they had no food and her eight-year-old daughter had been put into care,’ Mr Musk said.

‘The next day I went to see her and I sorted her out with some funds. She was so thin – I couldn’t believe anybody could be as thin as she was.

‘She is a real princess but she was dressed in rags so I took her [shopping] for clothing and food.’

Mr Musk continued to provide her with money for a number of years and the two grew closer.

‘She left her boyfriend and came to me at one point when she was about 30 years old,’ he said.

‘Obviously there was a big generation gap but we really liked each other and enjoyed each other’s company.

‘We had a little boy, Elliot Rush who is now five, and I can’t imagine a world without him.’

Jana also welcomed a girl, Asha Rose Musk, in 2019.

‘She since has gone back to that boyfriend, and he is more her age, but I provide them with an apartment and medical aid, a car and whatever they need,’ he said.

‘We’ve never had DNA tests done because we love her anyway, no matter what. The main thing is we all love her.

‘They both have their little life and I don’t interfere. I get along with her boyfriend great. And Jana’s mother loves them too.’

Elon’s battle with Biden and the Twitter deal

Mr Musk said he’s never had any doubts about Elon when it comes to his work ethic or scientific mind.

The 51-year-old is the world’s richest person after amassing a fortune of US$242billion, following his incredible success with the payment service platform PayPal, solar car company Tesla and the rocket-building firm Space X.

But his father does ‘worry’ about his recent political statements and the immense pressure he’s under.

‘At the beginning of this year Elon started making a lot of political statements because of this Biden situation in the United States,’ Mr Musk said.

‘You have this really strange thing where you have this guy who can’t put two sentences together who is supposed to be the President.

‘I told Elon, you are getting into the political side now. How is your security? You have to be careful because the political situation is very dangerous.’

The US President earlier this year ruffled Elon’s feathers by ignoring Tesla and calling rival manufacturer GM – the nation’s electric car leader.

Mr Musk said Elon’s growing appetite for politics coincided with his ambition to purchase the social media platform Twitter for $44billion ($63billion AUD).

‘Elon had this idea that both sides have their chance to give their opinions, not just one side,’ his father said.

‘Then he decided he was going to go after Twitter with a plan to make it a neutral platform – that’s all he wanted. But from my experience that was a bit naïve.’

Now the tech billionaire and Twitter are set to go to court after Elon blew up the deal, accusing the company of drastically under-estimating the number of fake accounts.

‘A little while ago I tried to join Twitter and it told me I already had a profile with over 400 posts,’ Mr Musk said.

‘It was a fake account. It had foul language and all sorts of stuff like that. It was not me.

‘I mentioned that to Elon recently and told him to keep it in mind – and Elon has realized that now and he’s said ‘I’m not going to buy this platform if it’s full of a bunch of fake accounts’.’

Musk suggests deal could go through if Twitter provides info on confirming users

Tesla CEO Elon Musk suggested early Saturday that his acquisition deal with Twitter could still go through if the social media platform provided information about how it confirms that sampled accounts are real.

“If Twitter simply provides their method of sampling 100 accounts and how they’re confirmed to be real, the deal should proceed on original terms,” Musk tweeted. “However, if it turns out that their SEC filings are materially false, then it should not.”

Later he tweeted he was challenging the CEO of Twitter to a debate.

“I hereby challenge@paraga to a public debate about the Twitter bot percentage. Let him prove to the public that Twitter has <5% fake or spam daily users!” Musk tweeted.

Musk also tweeted out a poll asking if less than 5 percent of daily users on Twitter were spam or fake.

The tweets from Musk are the latest in the drama between the SpaceX CEO and the social media platform following legal action over his bid to buy Twitter.

Earlier this year, Musk reached a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion, but less than three months later, he terminated the deal. His legal team argued at the time there was inadequate information provided about bots on Twitter’s site. The team also alleged that the social media company had fired several employees in violation of their agreement and that its statements regarding bots were not accurate.

The social media platform sued Musk to force him to complete the acquisition.

“Having mounted a public spectacle to put Twitter in play, and having proposed and then signed a seller-friendly merger agreement, Musk apparently believes that he—unlike every other party subject to Delaware contract law—is free to change his mind, trash the company, disrupt its operations, destroy stockholder value, and walk away,” the lawsuit against Musk said.

But Musk filed a countersuit earlier this month, with his lawyers alleging that he was not consulted on big decisions at the social media company and that the billionaire had entered into the agreement without knowing about the platform’s “misrepresentations or omissions,” which impacted his perception of the site’s value, according to The Associated Press.

Twitter hit back against the countersuit, saying that the argument was “imagined in an effort to escape a merger agreement that Musk no longer found attractive once the stock market—and along with it, his massive personal wealth—declined in value.”

Elon Musk says he would fight Kim Jong-un, Vladimir Putin

Elon Musk has thrown the gauntlet down at North Korean leader Kim Jong-un after challenging Russian President Vladimir Putin to physical blows earlier this year.

speaking to the full-send podcast, Musk said in the hypothetical scenario posed to him that he “wouldn’t say no” if the North Korean leader wanted to fight him.

In March, Musk went viral for a tweet in which he challenged the Russian President to fight.

“I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat,” he wrote.

“Stakes are Ukraine.”

When asked who Musk’s biggest “enemy” was at the moment, the billionaire mentioned his challenge to the Kremlin.

“I am not sure if they are going to send him, but I did challenge him on Twitter,” he said.

So how exactly would Elon Musk battle against the Russian leader known for his military martial arts background?

Easy. Musk says it’s a little known technique called “the walrus”.

“Listen, (the fight will) be a pay-per-view,” the Tesla and SpaceX CEO envisioned.

“It’ll be an interesting question because (Putin’s) good at martial arts and he’s pretty buff. You’ve seen those pictures of him on a horse.

“He has won like Judo championships… so he is pretty good, but I think I am 30 per cent bigger than him.”

Musk said his “weight advantage” would help him overthrow Putin with his ultimate MMA move.

“I’m going to use a move called ‘the walrus’, where I just lie on you. You can’t get away.”

While Musk is known for making controversial commentary that even he worries “could really backfire” on him, the billionaire has focused part of his Starlink efforts to aid Ukrainians.

As Ukraine enters its fifth month during the Russian invasion, Musk has deployed thousands of Starlink satellites to aid the Ukrainian defensive effort.

Musk activated the broadband service in Ukraine, after a Kyiv official urged the tech titan to provide his embattled country with stations.

“Starlink service is now active in Ukraine,” Musk tweeted, adding “more terminals [are] enroute.”

The Satellites have been a vital resource allowing Ukrainians to maintain access to the internet with encrypted data as Russia seeks to target Ukrainian power grids in attempts to disrupt information sharing.

Elon Musk’s dad Errol Musk gives savage Kyle and Jackie O interview

Elon Musk’s 76-year-old father has given a stunning interview to Australian radio, taking aim at his tech billionaire son and opening up about his controversial relationship with his 34-year-old stepdaughter.

South Africa-born and based Errol Musk, who has seven children including two with his stepdaughter from a second marriage, Jana, spoke with KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O this morning in a bizarre 20-minute interview, in which he dismissed his son’s success .

“Your offspring is a genius. He’s worth so much money and has created so many things, you can’t take that away from him. Are you proud? Jackie O asked.

“Nope. You know, we are a family that have been doing a lot of things for a long time, it’s not as if we suddenly started doing something,” Errol replied.

Elon is his eldest son with his ex-wife, model Maye Musk, who joined the Tesla CEO at the Met Gala this year. Maye and Errol also share are Kimbal and daughter Tosca.

Errol said his billionaire son feels as though he is running behind schedule in his career achievements. The father agreed with that sentiment.

“He is frustrated with progress and it’s understandable,” he said.

“I know it sounds crazy, but we tend to think like that as a family. He’s 50 now and I still think of him as a little boy. But he’s 50, I mean he’s an old man.

He went on to sledge his son’s body and diet while discussing recent shirtless photos of Elon on a yacht in Greece.

“Elon is very strongly built but he’s been eating badly,” he said, adding that he’s recommended a supplement called garcinia cambogia, which supposedly aids weight loss without additional exercise or dieting, to his son.

Jackie O then asked if the South African engineer drove a Tesla, to which he replied he instead drove a Bentley, Rolls Royce and Mercedes. He then told the hosts it was Elon’s younger brother Kimbal who was his “pride and joy” about him.

Asked about marrying his 34-year-old stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout – who he had raised since she was four and now shares two young children with – Errol said the relationship was “completely normal”.

Last month, the 76-year-old revealed he had had a daughter with Ms Bezuidenhout in 2019, a year after they had their first child, Elliot Rush, now aged five. The children do not live with their biological father, with Errol telling The Sun they “get on their nerves” when they visit.

He refused to rule out having even more children, however, saying: “The only thing we are on Earth for is to reproduce.”

According to The SunElon finds his dad’s relationship with Jana “creepy”.

Recently, it emerged Elon welcomed twins last November with a senior executive at one of his companies, 36-year-old Shivon Zilis.

The twins were born just a few weeks before Musk had a second child via surrogate with his on-off girlfriend, Canadian pop star Grimes.

The father-of-nine also has five children with his first wife, Canadian author Justine Musk.

Elon Musk’s dad says he isn’t proud of Tesla founder and explains kids with stepdaughter

Elon Musk’s father has admitted he isn’t proud of his billionaire son and explained why he married and had a baby with his stepdaughter in a candid radio interview.

Errol Musk, 76, called in to the Kyle and Jackie O show on Monday morning for a bizarre 20-minute interview in which he joked he could be Kyle’s biological father.

The father of the Tesla CEO said Elon had ‘surpassed the mark’ of what he deemed success but said the Musk family had ‘been doing a lot of things for a long time’.

‘Your offspring is a genius. He’s worth so much money and has created so many things, you can’t take that away from him. Are you proud?’ Jackie O asked.

‘Nope. You know, we are a family that have been doing a lot of things for a long time, it’s not as if we suddenly started doing something,’ Errol replied.

Errol said his billionaire son isn’t as happy as he could be when it came to his success and said he feels as if he is running five years behind schedule.

‘He is frustrated with progress and it’s understandable,’ the 76-year-old said.

‘I know it sounds crazy, but we tend to think like that as a family. He’s 50 now and I still think of him as a little boy. But he’s 50, I mean he’s an old man.’

In reference to recent shirtless photos of his son on a boat in Greece, he said he had been encouraging his son to eat better and take a supplement.

‘Elon is very strongly built but he’s been eating badly,’ he told the hosts.

In a ruthless aside, Errol said he had recommended garcinia cambogia – a supplement that can supposedly aid weight loss without additional exercise or dieting – to his son.

Jackie O asked the South African engineer if he drove a Tesla to which he replied he instead drove a Bentley, Rolls Royce and Mercedes – similar to Kyle’s car collection.

Errol said he had not once received a handout from his billionaire son and that it was Elon’s younger brother Kimbal who was his ‘pride and joy’.

‘We are a very frugal, stingy family. If I want to spend anything I have to answer 100 questions of why,’ he explained.

‘Elon lives a very frugal life. He’s up at work at six o’clock.’

Errol said he worried Elon, who is currently single, will never find a woman who will give up her career to be part of his life, like Kimbal’s wife had done.

Errol was then asked about the relationship he shares with his 34-year-old stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout – who he is married to and shares two young children with.

He said he was married to the 34-year-old’s mother for two years in the 1990s and that he hadn’t seen or spoken to Ms Bezuidenhout after the divorce until 2014.

He said it was when she reached out to him during a difficult time that their friendship turned into a romance.

When Kyle said he thought Jana was his biological daughter, Errol interjected.

‘No, it’s not completely normal,’ he said, to which Kyle agreed, despite the 42-year age gap.

Kyle then bizarrely asked what Elon’s penis looked like and if it was circumcised, blaming the personal question on the ‘promiscuous’ Australian women who wanted to know.

‘I’ll get him to send a photo,’ Errol joked.

Kyle concluded the interview by asking the father-of-seven if he could be his father.

‘Maybe I am. Has your mother ever been to South Africa?’ Errol replied with Kyle screaming ‘daddy’ to the Musk patriarch.

A sixth child, their first, died of sudden infant death syndrome when they were just ten weeks old in 2002, prompting them to use invitro fertilization.

Then Justine gave birth to twins — Vivian and Griffin — in 2004, followed by triplets — Kai, Saxon and Damian — in 2006.

Their eldest child, Vivian, 18, recently filed a legal request to change her first name to reflect that she is transgender and her last name to signal she doesn’t want ‘to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form ‘.

Elon Musk has filed a countersuit against Twitter over $65 billion deal

Elon Musk has countersued Twitter, escalating his legal fight against the social media company over his bid to walk away from the $US44 billion (more than $65 billion) purchase.

While the 164-page document was not publicly available, under court rules a redacted version could soon be made public.

Musk’s lawsuit was filed on Friday, hours after Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery ordered a five-day trial, beginning on October 17, to determine if Mr Musk can walk away from the deal.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Also on Friday, local time, Mr Musk was sued by a Twitter shareholder, who asked the court to order the billionaire to close the deal, finding that he breached his fiduciary duty to Twitter shareholders and awarded damages for losses he caused.

Mr Musk owes a fiduciary duty to Twitter’s shareholders because of his 9.6 per cent stake in the company and because the takeover agreement gives him a veto of many of the company’s decisions, according to the lawsuit, which seeks class action status.
