Kate Middleton has worn $83,000 worth of clothes in 100 days

There are always defining moments in every Queen’s career, say when Elizabeth I stood before her troops at Tilbury in 1588 and gave one of British history’s most famously rousing speeches or in 1947 when the future Elizabeth II delivered her famous radio address from South Africa promising to dedicate her life to her job.

But for Kate, currently the Duchess of Cambridge and the future Queen Catherine, one of the most defining moments came on April 30 2011, the day after her wedding to Prince William, and her first full days as a bona fide member of the royal family.

Crossing the lawn at Buckingham Palace as the newlyweds made their way to a helicopter to whisk them off to start married, just what did Kate choose to wear? An $85 Zara dress.

The symbolism was clear: Kate might have snagged the prince, gotten herself a title and was now calling a palace home but she was the same woman as she had been 48 hours earlier. With one outfit she was making it clear to the world that she would do things her way of her and that despite her elevation to royal ranks, she remained firmly tethered to normal life.

It was a powerful and very canny move and a style strategy we have seen her wheel out again and again in the year since then.

So, what in the name of her extensive collection of tepid coat dresses has been going on of late?

According to my calculations, in the last 100 days Kate has worn more than $83,851 worth of readily identifiable clothes, shoes and jewellery, not including the number of bespoke designer pieces she has showcased, items that I could not find prices for or the value of. the royal jewelery she has worn. (If we added that all in we would easily be well into the six-figures, I reckon. Keep in mind too that members of the royal family cannot accept freebies either.)

What is clear if you pore over photos and details of the last three and a bit months is that over the course of the last 100 days there has been a very discernible shift in her wardrobe towards the much more costly.

Gone, by and large, are her high-street favourites, affordable pieces from mainstream British chains and in their place is an ever-growing roster of four-figure frocks and diamond earrings.

No look came with a higher price tag in this time period than her very chic, pared back ensemble for the Top Gun premiere with Kate opting for a $5,115 Roland Mouret dress, Prada heels, a $4,418 Alexander McQueen clutch and new $18,133 diamond earrings from Robinson Pelham.

While Kate did re-wear a number of pieces, most notably the white Alexander McQueen suit she first debuted during her and husband Prince William, Duke of Cambridge’s disastrous Caribbean tour and a striking Catherine Walker coat she first donned last year, these are all pieces that cost into the thousands. (There are no prices listed on the Catherine Walker website and you know what they say about having to ask how much something is…)

This is a sartorial tendency that extends to her in her off-duty hours too. Back in 2019 Kate was last photographed at the polo wearing a $740 LK Bennett dress. In July, the 40-year-old was back at watching her husband de ella working up a sweat playing a few chukkas but this time she chose a ladylike Emilia Wickstead number from the designer’s 2019 collection. Currently, a white sleeveless dress that is similar is selling for just under $2000.

Since early May, Kate has worn Alessandra Rich on multiple occasions (whose dresses start at about $2,511 and go up to more than $4,000), plenty of Emilia Wickstead, again costing in the thousands, and a variety of pairs of Emmy heels ($690 to pop) or Gianvitto Rossi pumps which come in at $1022 a pair.

The genius of Kate’s style for so long was her ability to seamlessly pair bargain items, such as the $3.95 earrings she chose for her first official event this year, with high end pieces, a perfect blend of the accessible and the aspirational.

What was so delightful about this was not just the demonstration of her fashion nous but the implication it carried; just because ella she could afford all the designer loot she could cart home from Bond Street did not mean ella she wanted to.

It all felt refreshing and just real and over the years the duchess’ regular choice of budget looks interspersed with the luxe carried with it the message that royal life had not fundamentally changed her as a person.

Which is why this emergence of this recent Kate who seems increasingly wedded to top tier labels only is a bit disquieting. To some degree I feel a certain sense of disappointment that one of the most meaningful ways she has, for more than a decade, set herself apart from the royal status quo seems to have disappeared.

(The only notable exception to this trend came on June 3 during a St Paul’s service during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations when she accessorized her bespoke Emilia Wickstead yellow stunner, which would have set Kate back thousands, and her $2000-plus Philip Treacey hat with … at $34 clutch from homegrown Australian brand Forever New.)

Maybe what I really liked about the Zara-era Kate was that every time she got out of her official car for an engagement clad in a $27 dress it carried with it a certain wonderful sense of defiance and refusal to suddenly change who she was. The takeaway: she She might have a title but she was still Kate.

One way to explain the change in her wardrobe direction might be that it reflects the repositioning we have seen of William and Kate’s image in the last year, from plucky young ‘uns to future king and queen. The runway from where they are now, as working foot soldiers of the royal family, to their coronation inside Westminster Abbey is being very clearly laid out by the Palace, driving home a message of monarchical continuity as the Queen looks shakier and shakier.

Perhaps the argument has been made that it’s fine for a workday duchess to slip into a few pounds worth of polyester but not for a queen-in-waiting. Or perhaps Kate has just grown up a bit and like women the world over is now focusing more on better quality pieces she can wear more often.

But to some degree the ‘why’ does not matter here; what does is what flow-on effect this shift might have.

On a purely functional level, Kate’s deployment of modest clothes over the years went a very long way to making her seem uniquely relatable in a way no royal WAG has before. Now, the more she chooses out-for-reach for everyone but the super-rich labels, the more she risks eroding those gains and making herself into more of a remote figure.

For William and Kate to truly ensure that the royal family remains a thriving concern, they need to seem approachable.

The danger there is obvious – central to the brand the Cambridges’ have assiduously been trying to build is that they are the congenial, normal royals, the hardworking duo happily transforming The Firm from fusty, frosty and all-too grand into a powerhouse of do -goodery.

At a time when the UK is in the grip of a cost-of-living crisis, seeing the woman who has been sold as the refreshingly normal duchess-next-door gadding about the better part of a $100,000 worth of designer duds is a potentially dangerous and certainly ill-conceived move.

Closes might maketh the man but Zara could help maketh a queen.

R. Kelly accuser to give key testimony on trial-fixing charge

R.Kelly‘s federal trial in Chicago that starts on Monday is in many ways a do-over of his 2008 state child pornography trial, at which jurors acquired the singer on charges that he produced a video of himself when he was around 30 having sex with a girl not older than 14.

There’s one big difference: This time, prosecutors say, she will testify.

Kelly goes into Chicago federal court already sentenced by a New York federal judge to a 30-year prison term for a 2021 conviction on charges he parlayed his fame to sexually abuse other young fans.

READMORE: A timeline of the case against R. Kelly

Among the most serious charges the Grammy Award winner faces at his federal trial is conspiracy to obstruct justice by rigging the 2008 trial, including by paying off and threatening the girl to ensure she did not testify.

Testimony by the woman, now in her 30s and referred to in filings only as “Minor 1”, will be pivotal. The charges against Kelly also include four counts of the enticement of minors for sex — one count each for four other accusers. All are also slated to testify.

Even just one or two convictions in Chicago could add decades to Kelly’s New York sentence, which he is appealing. With the New York sentence alone, Kelly will be around 80 before qualifying for early release.

Prosecutors at the federal trial plan to play the same VHS tape that was “Exhibit No. 1” at the 2008 trial. While it was the only video in evidence 14 years ago, at least three other videos will be entered into evidence at the federal trial.

Prosecutors say Kelly shot the video of Minor 1 in a log cabin-themed room at his North Side Chicago home between 1998 and 2000 when she was as young as 13. In it, the girl is heard calling the man “daddy.” Federal prosecutors say that she and Kelly had sex hundreds of times over the years in his homes, recording studios and tour buses.

Before the 2008 trial, Kelly carried a duffle bag full of sex tapes everywhere he went for years, but some tapes later went missing, according to court filings. In the 2000s, bootleg copies of some videos appeared on street corners across the US.

Kelly, who rose from poverty on Chicago’s South Side to become a star singer, songwriter and producer, knew a conviction in 2008 would effectively end his life as he knew it.

On June 13, 2008, Kelly shut his eyes tight and bowed his head as jurors returned from deliberations. As a court official read the jury’s decision and it became clear Kelly would be acquitted on all counts, tears streamed down his cheeks from him and he said over and over, “Thank you, Jesus.”

Two Kelly associates, Derrel McDavid and Milton Brown, are co-defendants in Chicago. McDavid is accused of helping Kelly fix the 2008 trial, while Brown is charged with receiving child pornography. Like Kelly, they have also denied any wrongdoing.

Double jeopardy rules bar the prosecution of someone for the same crimes they were acquired of earlier. But that shouldn’t apply to the Chicago federal trial because prosecutors are alleging different crimes related to Minor 1, including obstruction of justice for fixing the 2008 trial.

Minor 1 first met Kelly in the late 1990s when she was in junior high school. She had tagged along to Kelly’s Chicago recording studio with her aunt, a professional singer working with Kelly’s music. Soon after that meeting, Minor 1 told her parents of her Kelly was going to be her godfather of her.

In the early 2000s, the aunt showed the parents a copy of a video she said depicted their daughter having sex with Kelly. When they confronted Kelly, he told them, “You’re with me or against me,” a government filing says.

The parents took it as a threat.

“Minor 1’s mother did not want to go up against Kelly’s power, money, and influence by not following what he said,” the filing adds.

Kelly told the parents and Minor 1 they had to leave Chicago, paying for them to travel to the Bahamas and Cancun, Mexico. When they returned, prosecutors say Kelly sought to isolate Minor 1, moving her around to different hotels.

When called before a state grand jury looking into the video, Minor 1, her father and mother denied it was her in it. Prosecutors say an attorney for Kelly sat in on their testimony and reported back to Kelly what they said.

Prosecutors from the Cook County state’s attorney’s office chose to push ahead with charges and to take the case to trial in 2008 despite what they knew was a major hurdle: their inability to call the girl in the video to testify.

Any confidence Kelly may have had of beating similar charges a second time were likely dashed when he learned Minor 1 was now cooperating the government. With more resources, federal prosecutors also boast conviction rates of more than 90 per cent compared to around 65 per cent for their state counterparts.

In 2008, his lawyers argued the man in the VHS video who appeared very much to be Kelly was not Kelly. They showed jurors that Kelly has a large mole on his back of him, then played excerpts of the video in which no mole was visible on the man.

A file photograph of R. Kelly arriving at the Cook County Criminal Court Building, in Chicago in 2008. (AP)

One of Kelly’s attorneys, Sam Adam Jr., told jurors during closings that no mole on the man’s back meant one thing: “It ain’t him. And if it ain’t him, you can’t convict.”

Some 2008 jurors told reporters after the trial that they weren’t convinced the female in the video was who state prosecutors said she was.

That shouldn’t be an issue at the Chicago federal trial. Prosecutors say both the girl and her parents of her will testify.

What defense Kelly’s legal team will present this time isn’t clear.

The defense is likely to say Kelly’s accusers are misrepresenting the facts. Kelly was more blunt in a 2019 interview with Gayle King of CBS This Morningsaying about the women: “All of them are lying.”

Brad Pitt’s transformation ushers in new phase

It was either the Dalai Lama or Shania Twain who once said, “OK, so you’re Brad Pitt? That don’t impress me much”.

But Brad Pitt is not the kind of guy who cares about impressing the Dalai Lama and Shania Twain. He knows he impresses everyone else. That’s why he’s now taking confident strides into the next era of his life from him and embarking on a style revolution.

The 58-year-old has been hitting the red carpets over recent weeks for the premiere of his new movie Bullet Train while rocking a distinct new lewk.

The key fashion elements? Cakes and skorts.

Classic. Timeless. Sophisticated. I wore the same thing to my formal school.

Brad has entered a new phase. Throughout his career, he has transitioned smoothly from Hollywood heart-throb to bona fide movie star. Now he’s keen to explore the territory of eccentric artist.

And, look: We’ll accept Brad Pitt any way we can get him. He has reached a point where he can do whatever he wants and we’ll continue to take him seriously.

In the past, the actor has been accused by memes of stealing his girlfriends’ styles. He cut his hair like Gwyneth Paltrow when the pair dated in the ’90s. I borrowed Jen Aniston’s sea salt spray in the 2000s. And when he started dating Angelina, it seemed the pair made frequent trips to the blow bar together.

But his latest style revolution is truly one to behold. Is he simply being an eccentric artist? Or has he suddenly slipped into competing with the TikTok kids?

Whoever thought we’d see the day where Brad Pitt is trying to keep up with the internet’s boyfriends Timothée Chalamet and Harry Styles — with their flamboyant fashion choices of crushed velvet and bold statement patterns.

In Berlin I rocked a pink shirt, combat boots, and kilt. Then he brought a burst of color to LA with a green suit and yellow sneakers. Other appearances have seen him donning zip-up tops, relaxed jacket-shirts and baggy drawstring pants in a variety of pastel hues.

Asked about the skirt and his latest sartorial explorations, the actor simply replied: “I don’t know! We’re all going to die, so let’s mess it up”.

He makes it sound like there’s not much thought going into it at all – that he’s just taking life as it comes. But coordinated pastels don’t just happen. Co-ordinated pastels are achieved through many meetings with stylists who strategize with Pinterest boards.

For us regular people, you get to a certain age where it’s just too late for a style revolution.

When you’re younger, you can experiment with looks and people. But by the time you reach your 30s, you’ve pretty much settled into who you are. Your style is as predictable and expected as Bart Simpson’s blue shorts and orange shirt combo.

A style revolution doesn’t just affect your own life. It rocks the worlds of everyone around you. Like, imagine if your dad just started wearing accessories.

Or if your mum became one of those annoying people who really overcommits to 1950s rockabilly fashion.

Even a colleague. If your middle-aged boss waltzed into the office tomorrow morning wearing a bowler hat, it would throw the workplace off its axis. No deadlines would be met that day. The pings would be going insane.

It takes a certain kind of confidence to wake up one morning and decide on a whim that you’ll now become Bowler Hat Guy. And it’s foolish to think that the rest of the world will accept it without comment.

Remember when Karl Stefanovic shook up his personal life a few years ago and went through his own style revolution by trying to be Matthew McConaughey with a fedora and braided leather bracelets? We all had a field day.

A style revolution is only for the brave. Like those women who decide they’re going to exclusively wear purple until the end of time. They dedicate their entire lives to purple like it’s a religion. Suddenly, their entire wardrobes are a patchwork of magenta and violet. Amethyst. Lilac, plum and mauve.

They usually also get a purple streak in their hair. Then paint the front door of their home a glossy shellacked purple. If you spot one of these women in the wild, follow them to the car park and you’ll find she probably drives a purple Honda Jazz.

It goes without saying Brad’s new style revolution would be tipping his ex Angelina Jolie over the edge. Her mates of her will have been texting her relentlessly after every red carpet appearance of her: “Did ya see the skort?”

Seeing an ex move on with their life is annoying enough. But seeing an ex go through a style revolution? Enraging. Who the hell do they think they are?

In Australia, a style revolution of Brad Pitt’s scale just wouldn’t fly. Russell Crowe? The country couldn’t handle it. We as a nation will only ever allow Rusty to wear that one black Best & Less tracksuit.

Where is Cindy Jessup, the woman who ‘stole’ Olivia Newton-John’s first husband, now?

She was the young blonde babysitter blamed for the break-up of Olivia Newton-John’s first marriage after striking up a flirtation with the actress’s husband while they raised money together to fight her first cancer battle in 1994 – only to marry him in secret years later .

And today in an exclusive interview, Cindy Jessup tells DailyMail.com how she is mourning the ‘angel’ star following her death at the age of 73.

Jessup was just 23 when she met Olivia and her then-husband Matt Lattanzi.

A beautiful young cyclist from New Zealand, she was invited into the family’s home near Byron Bay, Australia, to look after their seven-year-old daughter Chloe. Two years later, Olivia and Matt split, leaving Olivia – 48 and single – battling breast cancer for the first time. Four years later, Jessup, then 28, married Lattanzi quietly in California.

Now, DailyMail.com can reveal how their marriage broke down years later, and how Jessup moved on to marry a successful California transplant surgeon. The pair have two young children, attend music festivals including Burning Man, and are great lovers of the outdoors.

Today, going by her new married name of Cindy Fisher, the once vilified blonde is now a trainee relationship therapist and masseuse.

Speaking from her$2.7million San Diego home, Jessup paid tribute to Olivia – who ultimately embraced her marriage to Lattanzi despite her personal heartache for the benefit of her daughter.

‘The world has lost a true angel. Olivia cared so deeply about people and the planet. She was such a force for goodness, always helping others,’ Cindy, now in her early 50s, said.

Jessup’s name was thrust back into the spotlight this week after Newton-John’s death.

The pair first crossed paths in the 1990s while Newton-John and Lattanzi were living near Byron Bay.

She had met Matt in 1993 and bonded over their mutual love of cycling, but they were just friends.

The family invited her into their farm to look after their daughter Chloe, then just seven.

A year later, when Olivia was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time, Cindy offered to cycle from Sydney to Perth to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.

The pair posed proudly together for press photographers.

Joined by Lattanzi in some of the shots, the trio looked playfully at a map for the photographers’ lenses and shared jokes amongst themselves.

In others, she posed with Newton-John’s nephew, Emerson, and with Lattanzi alone. Cindy was just 23 at the time.

The following year, Matt and Olivia parted ways. She was 40, and he was 36.

And four years later, in 1999, Lattanzi married Cindy, by then 28, in a quiet ceremony in Malibu, California.

At the time, the National Enquirer reported that the only people who knew of the nuptials ahead of time were Olivia and her daughter, Chloe.

An unnamed friend of the couple insisted that their friendship only turned romantic after Olivia and Matt’s marriage had ended.

‘It looks bad, because Cindy would often babysit his daughter and she was a friend of his and Olivia’s — but in those days there was no romance.’

Jessup, who is originally from New Zealand, stayed in the US after splitting from Lattanzi. Now, she is happily remarried to a transplant surgeon. The pair live in Encinitas, near San Diego

Matt, thrilled not only with his new bride but with the fact Olivia had embraced her, said: ‘I am so fortunate. I couldn’t ask for a better outcome.’

Olivia didn’t remarry again until 2008, when she married John Easterling. They remained together until her death.

She had been hesitant to get married the first time.

‘Olivia had delayed marrying until the age of thirty-six because she was desperate to get it right after being scarred since the age of ten by her own parents’ divorce.

‘She married Matt full of hope for a lasting union, but after a golden few years where they seemed to live in a perfect world, their marriage had been buffeted by events and circumstances often beyond their control. Inevitably, they had both changed. At forty-eight, Olivia was alone again.

‘Matt and Cindy eventually set up home together in Malibu so he could continue to be an attentive father to Chloe.

‘In June 1999, Cindy became Matt’s second wife,’ Olivia’s 2011 biography reads.

It’s unclear what ultimately led to the breakdown of Jessup and Lattanzi’s marriage in 2007.

Lattanzi moved on to his third wife, Michelle. The pair live together now in Oregon, where they grow marijuana on a farm.

Michelle paid tribute to Olivia this week on social media, writing: ‘Today we lost one of the world’s greats Olivia Newton-John,’ she posted on behalf of the couple.

‘Matt and I are so overwhelmed with the love and gratitude shared with us by friends, family and a deeply loving community of fans who will all miss Olivia’s presence in this world.

‘I have heard truly lovely stories and memories from people near and far, and honor in each of you where those feelings and memories come from.

‘Nothing will replace the icon we lost, yet her legacy is alive and well in our hearts and memories, as well as her contributions to our global culture, her beloved daughter Chloe Lattanzi, and her cancer research and wellness center in Melbourne.

‘Please honor your sadness, and then celebrate the joy that Olivia’s heart and lifetime achievements endowed in our world. Sending all kinds of love.’

‘You can’t just let it flow’: Emma Thompson defends intimacy coordinators | emma thompson

Emma Thompson has joined the actors pushing back against Sean Bean’s criticism of intimacy coordinators, describing the profession as a “fantastic introduction” that has made actors feel comfortable and safe.

Bean, best known for his work on Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, said earlier this week that coordinators reduce “the natural way lovers behave” into a “technical exercise.”

“It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things,” he said. “Somebody saying, ‘Do this, put your hands there while you touch his thing.’”

Coordinators have been introduced to film and TV production over the past five years in response to concerns raised by the #MeToo movement about safeguarding on set.

Speaking on the Fitzy and Wippa radio show in Australia, Thompson said: “Intimacy coordinators are the most fantastic introduction in our work. And no, you can’t just ‘let it flow’.”

Thompson continued: “There’s a camera there and a crew – it’s not on your own in a hotel room. You’re surrounded by a bunch of blokes carrying things. So it’s not a comfortable situation, full stop.”

She added that she’d been in positions where people said of the coordinator: “’It made me comfortable, it made me feel safe, it made me feel as though I was able to do this work.’

Thompson was promoting Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, in which she plays a widow who hires a sex worker. That film, directed by Sophie Hyde from Katy Brand’s script, did not employ an intimacy coordinator despite an abundance of nudity and sex scenes.

“Intimacy coordinators are really important, and their work is so valuable and so useful and needed,” Thompson’s co-star, Daryl McCormack, has said. “But at the same time, we were able to come to each other and go, ‘What do you think is going to best serve our relationship with this?’ And we just found that out of the safety and out of the connection that we had already found. It felt real exciting to us to actually build that ourselves with the director.”

The film has been bought by Searchlight in the US, making it eligible for awards season despite having premiered on the small screen in the US.

Other actors to have criticized Bean’s opinions include Rachel Zegler and Jameela Jamil.

Bold & Beautiful: Will Sheila Return to Kidnap Steffy’s Baby?

Bold mashup hope taylor sheila steffy

“It’s finally over,” said Taylor as Bold & Beautiful bid farewell to Sheila, with the Forrester family relieved to hear that this time, she’s really, most sincerely dead. “As if,” said the audience, who’ve definitely been down this road before.

Bear-ing Witness

I’ve got to give Bold & Beautiful credit for saying that the indestructible Sheila Carter had been done in by a marauding bear. Of course, before they got that news, we had to play the “drag it out as long as possible” game. It made no sense that Sanchez started his meeting with the family by saying, “We found Sheila” as opposed to immediately setting their minds at ease with, “Sheila Carter is dead, and I can prove it.”

Finn strangle Sheila B&B

Already, Finn is missing the mother/son bonding moments he and Sheila shared.

Credit: CBS screenshot

But the best moment was when Sanchez whipped out Sheila’s middle toe (which looked, by the way, ginormous!). For my money, that was right up there with As the World Turns presenting us with Shannon’s shrunken head. And like Shannon, I have no doubt that Sheila’s alive and well.

Now, all she has to do is wait for the Forrester family to let their guard down and then seek revenge. Finn and Steffy might want to keep a real close eye on Hayes, because something tells me Granny Sheila might just decide to raise that baby is the “do-over” she desperately needs!

Child’s Play

It struck me as odd that Hope, Liam and especially Thomas weren’t called in for the big “bear attack” reveal. Then again, everybody kinda seems to have forgotten that Thomas was helping Sheila keep quiet the real reason Brooke fell off the wagon. Plus, if they’d all been over at the Forrester Creation offices, who could we have had sitting around talking about Sheila as the others were getting the news?

This did, however, serve to set in motion a secondary story, and I’m always grateful for that. Did you see the way Hope’s hackles went up at the very thought of Thomas wanting to — gasp! — raise his own child? I mean, the dude has gotten his act together and is rich enough to afford a great place to live and a nanny for Douglas. But clearly, Hope is not going to be handing that kid over without a fight.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. I mean, on the one hand, Hope did Thomas a solid by helping him out after Caroline died. And yes, they forged some kind of shared custody agreement. But come on… legitimately, she has absolutely no claim on the boy.

Taking Sides

Already, you can see that the whole Douglas thing will become the latest issue to divide Ridge’s family against himself. You know what I wish? That, just to shake things up, Brooke took Thomas’ side of her, while Taylor — however reluctantly — supported Hope. That won’t happen, of course. Each mom will support their own child, and Ridge will be caught in the middle.

Ashley, Nikki rivalry Y&R

Once they realized there was plenty of hairspray to go around, Nikki and Ashley learned to co-exist.

Bold & Beautiful lives in a world where blended families do not co-exist well. I mean, if you look at General Hospital, the various women with whom Sonny has had children don’t necessarily like one another, but they manage to get along well enough. And while Victor’s Young & Restless exes aren’t gal pals, Ashley and Nikki (and their respective off-spring) have figured out how to get along.

Of course, the big difference is that on Bold & Beautiful, not one ever truly moves on. Victor and Ashley are a thing of the past. Sonny and Alexis know their time has come and gone. But Ridge, much like Liam, will forever exist in a world where at any moment, he could simply jump from one woman to the other. He’s a horribly narcissistic person, and the damaged women have allowed it to go on for decades.

Here We Go Again

Which, of course, is exactly where we’re heading now that Taylor and Ridge kissed in Monte Carlo. (Get used to those beautiful shot-on-location flashbacks, ’cause we’re gonna be seeing them often!) It drives me absolutely batty that World Renowned Psychiatrist (patent pending) Taylor would allow herself to be drawn back into this month, or that Steffy would literally encourage her mom to fight for a jerk like Ridge.

Brooke is a different story. We’ve sort of been taught, over the years, that Brooke believes she and Ridge are destiny. And sometimes, you just have to forgive the person you’re destined to be with, especially given how often he’s forgiven her slip-ups from her. Should Brooke move on? Without a doubt. But we kind of have a better understanding of why she doesn’t… especially since, at the end of the day, Ridge does always come back to her.

Random Thoughts

• Loved the little montage of Sheila’s greatest hits they threw on the end of Thursday’s episode, as if to convince us that yup, she’s really gone this time. Still not buying it, but great touch.

• Having recently moved to a wooded area — and knowing that Brooke’s guest cottage is surrounded by nature — I couldn’t help but think, “Please tell me when Douglas and Beth come back inside, someone’s doing tick checks on them!”

It comes after it was reported that Victoria Beckham will finally be reuniting with the rest of the Spice Girls for a new documentary series centering on the band.

According to The Sun, the series will be made by the team behind The Last Dance, the critically acclaimed hit Netflix series about basketball superstar Michael Jordan.

Speaking about The Last Dance, Mel B opened up about the series in an interview in Australia, saying: ‘The director and the whole concept of how that was shot and filmed is really, really, really good. So we’ll be doing our own version with them.’

The series will reportedly feature behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and document the band’s rise to the top.

Giving a taste of what fans can expect, Mel B revealed: ‘The rap in the Wannabe video, I actually wrote on the toilet while the other girls were doing the vocals.’

She continued: ‘My kids go, ‘Mummy, your music has come full circle’, and I’m thinking, ‘Ooh they’re going to compliment me’. Then I get told, ‘It’s come full circle because now you’re just vintage’. Old but good.’

The iconic 90s girl group, comprising Sporty, Scary, Ginger and Baby reunited for a tour in 2019, without Victoria.

But the five girls are finally set to reunite as Geri turns 50 in September and not only has she invited Emma, Mel B, Mel C, and Victoria to the lavish bash, the quintet are expected to perform together as a five-piece for the first time since the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ‘It’s going to be an amazing night. It’s a seated, black tie do and the theme is Timeless Elegance.

‘Loads of Geri and her husband Christian’s celeb pals will be there and, excitingly, Geri is inviting all the Spice Girls — including Victoria.

‘It’s being held in a Grade II listed manor in Oxfordshire which, conveniently, is just a stone’s throw from David and Victoria’s Cotswolds manor.

‘The girls can’t wait to reunite and the plan is for all five of them to sing Happy Birthday and get up on stage to join Geri for a number — possibly Wannabe.

‘One of the girls turning 50 is a massive deal — they all want to mark the occasion in style, and reuniting after a decade seems the perfect time.’

Mel C previously claimed there have been constant discussions about the Spice Girls getting back together again.

Asked about the possibility of another meeting in December 2021, she said: ‘I really hope so. We’re talking about it. We are talking about it constantly. It was always the plan.

‘We did these amazing stadium shows two years ago. It was the best thing we’ve ever done. The creative was so incredible. We had the best time.’

The Say You’ll Be There singers formed in 1994 and went on to become the best-selling girl group of all time, but Geri suddenly left the band in 1998 and the remaining members went their separate ways in 2000.

All five members gathered for a string of arena shows in 2007 and they got back together again to play at 13 stadiums across the UK in 2019, with the exception of Victoria, who declined to take part in a second reunion.

Disney+ Apparently Blocked One Bluey Season 3 Episode (And More) From Streaming, Despite Containing A Fun Character Reveal

As one of the most acclaimed and universally beloved examples of children’s programming this side of sesame streetthe Australian animated gem bluey has become as vital an entry for many Disney+ Subscribers as the streaming service’s MCU and starwars fare. (With the majority of that group being parents, though not exclusively.) At long last, the first half of Season 3 made its debut as part of the Disney platform’s August releases, and by and large, fans have been just as tickled and jubilant as ever. But it looks like not all of the episodes made the voyage, with Disney+ cutting one potentially offending installment from the bunch, while also reportedly cutting scenes and dialogue from other Season 3 eps.

The Missing Bluey Episode: “Family Reunion”

  • When Dad’s accused of fluffing in Bluey’s face as he climbs out of bed, he’s put on trial with Mum as the judge, and Bluey and Bingo as witnesses. Bluey might also have to explain what she was doing there.

Without any official statement from Disney+ reps out there at the moment, it can only be assumed that the House of Mouse turned their nose at “Family Meeting” due to farting being a central element to the ep’s narrative. Not that Disney’s own animated programming over the years has been wholly highbrow and fart-free, and it’s not like earlier bluey Episodes haven’t also featured moments with Bandit breaking wind. But I guess passively passing gas is on a different level than a father facing allegations of farting in a child’s face.
