F45 co-founder Adam Gilchrist selling manor after stepping down from the business

The picturesque Sydney beachside manor owned by F45 co-founder Adam Gilchrist is set to go under the hammer after the Australian fitness giant’s stunning downfall.

Mr Gilchrist (not the cricketer), who stepped down as F45’s chief executive last week amid stock plunges and company-wide lay-offs, is selling his “beachfront trophy home” at Freshwater on Sydney’s northern beaches.

The home, 52 Ocean View Rd, grew into infamy in 2018 when Mr Gilchrist and his wife Eli bought the property for a whopping $14m due to a minor neighborly dispute.

The couple had purchased a three-bedroom cottage on 50 Ocean View Rd for $5.4m in 2017 and planned to spend $2.5m to develop the property.

But neighbors complained it would not comply with building height or boundary controls, which led to Mr Gilchrist taking the extraordinary step of withdrawing his proposal and setting the matter by buying his neighbour’s bigger home for the obscene amount.

The $14m price was a record for the Freshwater suburb, with agents considering 52 Ocean View Rd’s mammoth coming out an outlier price.

But the three-storey home is again on the market, with real estate agents billing it as “unquestionably one of the finest homes and locations in Sydney”.

“Cutting-edge architectural design and an unsurpassed beachfront setting combine in this state-of-the-art luxury residence to deliver the ultimate designer beach house,” a description of the home reads.

“Set to a picture-perfect backdrop that sweeps over the surf to the ocean’s horizon and North Head, the tri-level residence showcases living spaces and lift access to all three levels and has been appointed and furnished with every conceivable luxury.”

The home’s features include five bedrooms, three bathrooms and giant retractable windows in the dining room.

Mr Gilchrist suddenly announced last week that he was stepping down as F45’s chief executive after co-founding the business with Rob Deutsch back in 2013.

The company also revealed it would be laying off 110 staff and cuttings its operational expenses, which caused its stock price to fall by more than 60 per cent.

F45 hoped that by reducing its corporate workforce by 45 per cent it could return to a positive cash flow.

Mr Gilchrist said he would be “forever grateful” as he exited the company.

“To the staff that have worked tirelessly since our inception, you have been incredible in your efforts, and I thank you for all of your support,” Mr Gilchrist said in a statement.

“To the investors that have joined us along our journey, I thank you for your commitment to F45.

“Lastly, I am forever grateful to our franchisees who deliver the world’s best workout each day to F45 members around the world.”

Mr Deutsch, who stepped down as chief executive and sold his shares in the company in 2020, said there were “enormous issues needing fixing”.

“Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined this,” he wrote on Instagram.

“When I exited, and sold out of F45, I left a healthy, phenomenal, beast of a business. All the way from the company culture to the heart beat of the business… the workouts. F45 was special.

“I genuinely hope all of the 110 laid-off staff, find happiness and opportunities elsewhere.”

F45 was a global fitness powerhouse before its stock shock last week, with more than 1500 studios in 45 countries and Hollywood superstar Mark Wahlberg among its investors.

Mr Gilchrist made $500m overnight when the company went public on the New York Stock Exchange in July last year.

His northern Sydney home will be up for auction on August 27.

OnlyFans job for nurse who was shocked to learn boyfriend had secret family – who she was paying for

A former nurse says she was forced to start a risky but high-paying job – after discovering her boyfriend had a secret family that she had been paying for.

Dara, 37, from Brooklyn in New York, regularly shares sexy snaps with her 271,000 followers on Instagram.

WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE: Dara joined OnlyFans after learning boyfriend had secret family

But the pursuit morphed into her joining OnlyFans, and she now makes more than 16 times what she previously earned as a newborn intensive care unit nurse.

Dara needed the money after finding out her partner had another, secret girlfriend – who was eight months pregnant.

Even more shockingly, she claims her ex had been using her money to cover his budding family’s expenses.

In June 2019, Dara was working as a NICU nurse.

Although living pay to pay, she was also supporting her boyfriend – even agreeing to move across the US to live with him.

A month after moving to the Big Apple, Dara uncovered the truth about her boyfriend.

Not only did he have a heavily pregnant girlfriend, but Dara was financing them both.

“I found out through Facebook,” she told JamPrime.com.

“We were about to go and meet his mum, who lives abroad, and I went to follow her and noticed she was ‘friends’ with a profile of his that I didn’t know about.

“When I clicked on this alternative profile, I saw photos from a baby shower for his other girlfriend.

“I was so shocked, hurt and angry.”

Stuck in a lease in a swanky New York flat, Dara ditched her boyfriend.

But she soon found herself struggling to pay her bills.

Looking for new ways to make ends meet – and wanting to show her ex what he was missing – she decided to try OnlyFans, launching her account in 2018.

Within her first month, she made $US30,000 ($A43,100) – the equivalent of her yearly nursing salary.

Now, she makes more than $A722,500 per year – and it’s all thanks to her cheating ex.

“I have a lot of pride and decided to just figure my financial situation out, rather than let a man take advantage of me,” Dara said.

“When I fell into debt, I ditched him, then got rid of my car, which was a money guzzler, and started an OnlyFans.

“The rest is history.”

In the beginning, she mostly posted behind-the-scenes images from photo shoots, but she couldn’t believe how much money was coming in.

“I remember thinking ‘I’m going to post whatever makes me as much money as possible’ and now I’m debt-free,” she said.

“For the first time, I can actually save money.”

Dara’s new job means she has turned her back on 13 years in health care but she has not looked back.

“I don’t plan to return to nursing as long as I keep making good money,” she said.

“I loved watching my patients grow and go home.

“But the job started to take a toll on my mental health.

“Being a nurse is emotionally taxing when you work in the intensive care unit, and I wasn’t making enough to make ends meet.

“I don’t regret my decision.”

As for her former partner, Dara reveals he still tries to contact her and he knows about her OnlyFans career.

She said: “He still contacts me to this day but I’ve blocked him.

“I want nothing to do with him.”

But with the promotion due to end on August 9 – or while stocks last – fans have a short amount of time to score an Infinity Gauntlet for their collection.

“Since launching Fix-Ems earlier this month, we’ve been inspired and impressed by the creativity of our customers who are giving their everyday belongings a bit of extra flair with Fix-Ems,” Woolworths Senior Manager Continuity and Collectibles Paul Stibbard said.

“As we begin to see many customers complete their collection, there are still dozens of ultra rare Fix-Ems in circulation waiting to be collected.

“We encourage collectors to double check their collection in case they have unknowingly already collected the ultra rare Infinity Gauntlet, and look forward to seeing even more creative ways our customers are using their Fix-Ems.”

In past supermarket promotions, fans have paid tens of thousands of dollars for ultra rare collectables.

One fan bid $100k for an ultra rare Furry Simba Ooshie during Woolworths’ 2019 Lion King Ooshie promotion.

In 2020, another ultra rare furry The Child Disney+ Ooshie also sold for $100k.

Other rare collectables have sold for tens of thousands of dollars on eBay and other buy, swap and sell sites.

Woolworths supermarket confirms major trading hour changes to every store across Australia

Woolworths has announced major changes to its national trading hours and the way it operates its deli, seafood and meat departments.

The supermarket giant has confirmed to 7NEWS.com.au that store opening and closing hours will be adjusted to make them more consistent across Australia.

Learn more about the major Woolworths changes in the video above

This means selected stores will open an hour later or close an hour earlier to align with stores in other states (see full details below).

In addition to this, Woolworths has shortened the trading hours of its fresh service counters.

From August 1, the supermarket’s deli, meat and seafood department will close at either 7pm or 8pm – regardless of the store’s trading hours (see full details below).

A Woolworths spokesperson said that changes were made after careful consideration.

“We’ve made a change to the trading hours of our fresh service counters nationwide, due to a shift in customer shopping behaviour. This includes our meat, seafood and deli counters,” the spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.

“Customers can still purchase similar products, such as chicken breast fillets and salmon, within our packed Fresh Convenience range located in-store.

“We’ve also moved to standardize our overall operating hours so we can offer a consistent customer experience across our store network.

“Select stores across the country will open one hour later or close one hour earlier to align with other stores and better match customer shopping patterns.

“We’ll closely monitor customer and team member feedback over the next few months.”

New fresh service trading hours

From August 1, Woolworths deli, seafood and meat counters will have the following trading hours:

  • The fresh service deli will trade from 7am to 8pm (7 days).
  • The seafood and meat counters will trade from 9:30am to 7pm (weekdays) and 9am to 7pm (weekends).
  • 7NEWS.com.au understands that only a handful of stores will operate longer fresh service counter hours as there’s still high customer demand in those stores.
  • In-store signage has been placed at the fresh service counters and at the front of stores to inform customers of the altered trading hours.
  • It’s understood the new initiative was trialled in a handful of NSW stores in May 2022.

New store trading hours

Woolworths has announced the following changes to trading hours.

  • Select stores across Australia will open one hour later or close one hour earlier to align with other stores across the Woolworths network.
  • 7NEWS.com.au understands that the change means that if your local store typically opens at 6am, it will now open at 7am. And instead of closing at 10pm, it will now close at 9pm.
  • The change means that if a customer travels from state to state, trading hours will be roughly the same across the country.
  • Customers are encouraged to head here to see how the trading hours of their local Woolworths store have been affected by the change.
  • At the front of each Woolworths, signage will notify customers of the store’s new trading hours.

News of the change to Woolworths deli, meat and seafood trading hours has already attracted mixed reviews on social media.

One Woolies customer criticized the decision, saying all of the supermarket’s services should be available during opening hours.

“If Woolworths proceeds to limit services within their stores from 7pm onwards, we will no longer be using their services,” said the Adelaide-based customer.

“Shoppers need to remember that Woolworths openly asked and endorsed extended grocery store trading hours for 9pm.

“Now that they have these they don’t want to provide you with that service.”

Mixed reviews

He added: “As someone who works irregular hours, I typically do my shopping after 8pm at night – and now I can no longer get access to the service deli.”

But many other Facebook users felt it was a good move for Woolworths employees.

“It makes absolutely no sense to keep the deli open until the store closes given how long it takes to clean,” said one.

Added suggested “they have made this decision because the sales in the last hour just aren’t there”.

“They are running a business not a public service.”

Woolworths supermarket shoppers’ disturbing act with Quilton toilet paper captured in new TikTok video

Two Woolworths customers have created controversy over their treatment of a toilet paper display at one store.

Posting on TikTok, the two shoppers shared footage that showed one of them crashing through a neatly stacked pile of Quilton Toilet Paper.

The video shows one of the customers setting up his phone – which was recording the incident – inside a Woolworths freezer, situated opposite the toilet paper section.

While he held the freezer door open, the camera shows his friend emerging from behind the row of toilet paper packs.

Crashing through the display, the shopper’s actions sent the stack of toilet paper falling to the ground.

The shoppers can then be seen smiling and dancing for the camera, as the packs of Quilton lie in disarray.

With toilet paper still in limited supply for some supermarket shoppers around Australia, a video showing packs being mistreated is sure to infuriate many.

Customers have taken to social media in recent weeks to complain of ongoing shortages.

“Can someone please explain why there is no toilet paper yet again?” said one Woolworths customer on Facebook.

“I have been trying for four weeks now to get toilet paper, going into the store twice a week. This is getting ridiculous!”

The incident is reminiscent of a similar incident in June 2021 which saw a female Woolworths shopper jump onto a pallet of toilet paper packs.

“She needs to be thrown out of the store,” said one TikTok user at the time.

“Pathetic,” added another.

McDonald’s breakfast costs Aussie traveler $2664 after airport dog catches the scent

A detector dog at Darwin Airport has sniffed out a stowaway McDonald’s breakfast in the backpack of an Aussie traveler flying home from Bali – leaving him with a $2664 fine.

The penalty for the undeclared meat and dairy products is part of the active biosecurity efforts being made to stop foot and mouth disease (FMD) from entering the country.

Watch the video above for more on this story

For more Travel related news and videos check out 7Travel >>

“Two egg and beef sausage McMuffins from McDonald’s in Bali and a ham croissant” were the offending menu items that caught the attention of biosecurity sniffer dog Zinta, Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Minister Murray Watt told 7NEWS.com.au in a statement.

Stopping the food groups from entering the country is just one of several measures the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is cracking down on to mitigate the biosecurity threat.

“Detector dog Zinta responded to a passenger’s backpack and, after further inspection, it was found they were carrying a variety of risk items,” Watt said.

“This will be the most expensive Maccas meal this passenger ever has.

“This fine is twice the cost of an airfare to Bali, but I have no sympathy for people who choose to disobey Australia’s strict biosecurity measures, and recent detections show you will be caught.”

He was issued a “12-unit infringement notice for failing to declare potential high biosecurity risk items and providing a false and misleading document”.

The undeclared food was inspected for FMD and destroyed.

“Biosecurity is no joke—it helps protect jobs, our farms, food and supports the economy. Passengers who choose to travel need to make sure they are fulfilling the conditions to enter Australia, by following all biosecurity measures,” Watt said.

Indonesian authorities confirmed on July 5 that there had been an FMD outbreak in livestock, and as Australia is FMD-free, authorities are being extra vigilant at the border.

The disease “can survive in meat and dairy products even if they are frozen, chilled or freeze-dried,” the department said.

Zinta the biosecurity detector dog has been assigned the job of tracking down potential carriers of foot and mouth disease before they enter the country. Credit: Supplied

The infringement notice cost more than the man’s flights, but that is the standard cost of failing to declare biosecurity risks at the border.

Travelers who are entering Australia on temporary visas could also risk them being cancelled, ensuring they cannot enter the country.

“Travellers arriving from Indonesia will be under much stricter biosecurity scrutiny due to the presence of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Indonesia, including at the popular tourist destination Bali,” the department said in a statement.

The Albanese government last month announced a $14 million biosecurity package.

It has also rolled out biosecurity dogs at Darwin and Cairns airports, as well as sanitation and on-ground support at Australian and international airports.

‘Most expensive Macca’s meal’ costs Darwin passenger more than $2600

Two egg and sausage McMuffins and a ham croissant has cost an Australian-bound passenger $2664, as the nation’s biosecurity remains on high alert for fear of foot and mouth disease.

The passenger, arriving from Indonesia, allegedly provided a false and misleading document and failed to declare the potential high biosecurity risk item.

The three items were sniffed out by Darwin’s new biosecurity detector dog Zinta last week.

They will be tested for foot and mouth disease before they are destroyed.

Agriculture Minister Murray Watt said not only was not declaring food items a crime, it threatened Australia’s status as being foot and mouth disease – which has torn through Indonesia’s cloven hoofed animals – free.

A passenger has been fined more than $2664 for failing to declare their McDonalds meal and a ham croissant.

“This will be the most expensive Macca’s meal this passenger ever has,” Senator Watt said.

“This fine is twice the cost of an airfare to Bali, but I have no sympathy for people who choose to disobey Australia’s strict biosecurity measures, and recent detections show you will be caught.

“Australia is FMD-free, and we want it to stay that way.

“Biosecurity is no joke – it helps protect jobs, our farms, food and supports the economy. Passengers who choose to travel need to make sure they are fulfilling the conditions to enter Australia, by following all biosecurity measures.”

Zinta’s discovery of the products comes as Indonesian authorities say they have foot and mouth disease under control in four provinces, including in Bali.

Last month the federal government announced a $14m package to roll out more frontline defenses in protecting from foot and mouth disease, including biosecurity dogs at Darwin and Cairns airports.

The government also rolled out sanitation foot mats at all international airports.

Australia has also dispatched support for Indonesia and other countries.

Blind Date: HR adviser Kate and rent service officer Ethan parted until the early hours of the morning

Kate and Ethan are going to Blind Date’s longest date, clocking in at 10 hours.

Ethan, 27, says:

I got there first but I only beat her by about a minute. She was right behind me. We started off at a table and it was really close to the band, so couldn’t really hear each other and then one of the staff brought us around the corner and that was way better. We started off with, “What do you do for work? How do you like it? Is there any foods you don’t like, and foods you do like?

It was nerve-racking at the start. It was the unknown that was the scariest part about it.

But a few minutes into the date, it was fine. She made me feel super comfortable, just with her smile from her, and she would speak and then the conversation would just continue.

Pulled an all-nighter: Ethan.
Camera IconPulled an all-nighter: Ethan. Credit: John Koh/The West Australian

She’s just so easy to get along with. Ella’s personality is very bubbly and she’s a very funny girl.

She works in HR. I think she’s studying to get a promotion or something within that field. She does not like seafood, which is the same as me.

We ordered a lot of food. But we were talking so much, so we didn’t eat it all.

We exchanged Instagrams. And then we exchanged numbers as well. We’re actually still messaging now. I hope we go out again.

We actually stayed out until four o’clock in the morning. We met up with some of her friends of her after The Globe closed.

We went to a couple of bars and it got to about four o’clock and I was, like, ready to die because I went to work at four o’clock that morning as well, so I’d been up for 24 hours straight .

She was like, “Are you OK if we go home now?”. And I was like, “I’m so ready for that”. I’m glad neither of us had worked the next day because I felt rotten.

I got a bit nervous about meeting her friends but she introduced me to all of them. And then she made sure I was very comfortable and she was always involving me in the conversation rather than leaving me alone.

The whole thing was good. No awkward silences. Nothing but laughter. And just good conversation all around.

Verdict: 8.5/10

Kate, 24, says:

We had a lot of fun. It was a really good time.

Straight away, we both kind of bonded over how nervous we were at the start. And then we were just chatting about our interests, our work.

We had some common interests in terms of where we want to travel. We both are keen to go to Japan. I really want to go skiing there one day.

We were sitting at a high table to begin with. It was a little bit noisy. So then the staff asked us if we wanted to move to a different spot.

Almost in tears laughing: Kate.
Camera IconAlmost in tears laughing: Kate. Credit: John Koh/The West Australian

He was so friendly. He was just really easy to get along with and I felt pretty comfortable with him. The conversation flowed really well and was super easy. And I felt like neither of us was sitting there waiting for the other person to say something.

We always had something to talk about. Not that I really struggle with that, personally.

I can’t remember what it was. But there was one thing that we were laughing about and the banter was going back and forth. And I was almost in tears laughing; it was so funny but I actually can’t remember what it was.

After we left The Globe, we ended up meeting my housemate. She was already out in the city. I was messaging her beforehand and I was like, “So if this is shocking, I’m going to message you. And I’m going to come meet you out”.

And then she’s like, “If it’s really good and you like him and he gets on with you, invite him out afterwards”. So I did.

I didn’t know the other people, so it was kind of an extension of date. So I was chatting to Ethan and most of the night anyway. My housemate thought he was lovely. She thought he was really friendly and everything and she was like, “It seemed like you can just have an easy conversation with him.”

Ethan and I have been messaging since the date. Probably we’ll catch up again. Whether it’s more of a friendship, I’m not 100 per cent sure. But we’ll see what happens.

Verdict: 7.5/10

Prices at fast-food giants Hungry Jack’s, McDonald’s and KFC surge as inflation and production costs rise

If you thought your last fast-food order was a little more expensive than usual, you’re right.

A large chunk of the menu at fast food giants including Hungry Jack’s, McDonald’s and KFC have surged over the past year as inflation and production costs rise.

Even the cost of the humble soft-serve cone has increased as franchise owners admit they’re grappling with how to adjust prices.

There’s been uproar this week in the UK after McDonald’s, citing inflation, ended its 99p cheeseburger deal and lifted the price to £1.19.

Back home, a McDonald’s Double Quarter Pounder has increased 95¢ since last year from $7.65 to $8.60, while small and large soft drinks are up 40¢ each.

Hungry families or uni students looking to fill the fridge for the week are going to have to stretch a bit further at KFC this year for a bucket of 21 pieces of chicken — up $3.50 to $38.45, while a pack of six wicked wings is up $1 .

And at Hungry Jack’s, a Whopper is up to a whopping 60¢ and cheeseburger meals are up between $1 and $1.30.

Soft serve cones are now 70¢ at Hungry Jack’s, up from 60¢, and 75¢ at McDonald’s, up from 70¢.
