Another source close to Heche told CNN “she’s lucky to be alive” and has severe burns.

The source said Heche should expect a long recovery ahead.

Heche’s car rammed into a garage, before speeding off and driving into a house in Los Angeles’ Westside shortly before 11AM on Friday, police said.

The car came to a stop inside the two-storey house and erupted in flames.

The fire took nearly 60 firefighters more than an hour to douse, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Footage showed a blue Mini Cooper Clubman, badly damaged and burned, being towed out of the home, with Heche sitting up on a stretcher and struggling as she was put in an ambulance.

She was originally in a ‘critical condition’, but friends have now said the actress is stable.

Police are still investigating the incident, however so far no other injuries have been reported, and no arrests have been made.

According to CNN, authorities are yet to question Heche about the circumstances of the incident due to the significant nature of her injuries.

She first came to prominence on the soap opera Another World from 1987 to 1991, in which she won a Daytime Emmy Award for the role.

In the late 1990s she became one of the hottest stars in Hollywood, a constant on magazine covers and in big-budget films.

She co-starred with Johnny Depp in 1997’s Donnie Brasco; with Tommy Lee Jones in 1997’s Volcano; with Harrison Ford in 1998’s Six Days, Seven Nights; with Vince Vaughn and Joaquin Phoenix in 1998’s Return To Paradise, and with an ensemble cast in the original 1997 I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres from 1997 to 2000 heightened her fame and brought immense public scrutiny.

In the autumn of 2000 soon after the two broke up, Heche was hospitalized after knocking on the door of a stranger in a rural area in California.

Authorities said she had appeared shaken and disoriented, and spoke incoherently to the residents.

In a memoir released the following year, Call Me Crazy, Heche talked about her lifelong struggles with mental health and a childhood of abuse.

She was married to camera operator Coleman Laffoon from 2001 to 2009, with whom she had a son.

He has another son with actor James Tupper, her co-star on the TV series Men In Trees.

Heche has worked consistently in smaller films, on Broadway, and on TV shows in the past two decades.

She recently had recurring roles on the network series Chicago PD and All Rise, and in 2020 was a contestant on Dancing With The Stars.

Judith Durham, Australia’s folk music icon, dies at 79

MELBOURNE, Australia — Judith Durham, Australia’s folk music icon who achieved global fame as the lead singer of The Seekers, has died. She was 79.

Durham died in Alfred Hospital in Melbourne on Friday night after suffering complications from a long-standing lung disease, Universal Music Australia and Musicoast said in a statement on Saturday.

She made her first recording at 19 and rose to fame after joining The Seekers in 1963. The group of four became the first Australian band to achieve major chart and sales success in the UK and the United States, eventually selling 50 million records.

International hits included “The Carnival is Over,” “I’ll Never Find Another You,” “A World of Our Own” and “Georgy Girl.”

Durham embarked on a solo career in 1968 but recorded with The Seekers again in the 1990s.

“This is a sad day for Judith’s family, her fellow Seekers, the staff of Musicoast, the music industry and fans worldwide, and all of us who have been part of Judith’s life for so long,” said The Seekers’ management team member Graham simpsons.

Her bandmates in The Seekers — Keith Potger, Bruce Woodley and Athol Guy — said their lives had been changed forever by losing “our treasured lifelong friend and shining star.”

“Her struggle was intense and heroic, never complaining of her destiny and fully accepting its conclusion. Her magnificent musical legacy from Ella Keith, Bruce and I are so blessed to share, ”they said.

Tributes flowed for the beloved singer, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese describing Durham as “a national treasure and an Australian icon.”

“Judith Durham gave voice to a new strand of our identity and helped blaze a trail for a new generation of Aussie artists,” Albanese wrote on Twitter. “Her kindness of her will be missed by many, the anthems she gave to our nation will never be forgotten.”

In her home state Victoria, Premier Dan Andrews said Durham had conquered the music world both in Australia and overseas.

“With her unique voice and stage presence leading The Seekers, the band became one of Australia’s biggest chart toppers,” he said.

Willow Smith defends dad Will Smith’s Oscars slapgate scandal after Chris Rock hit

Willow Smith has defended her dad’s infamous Oscars slap.

The 21-year-old said it is part of “humanness” to make errors after the 53-year-old actor stormed the stage of this year’s Academy Awards to whack stand-up comic Chris Rock, 57, for making a joke about his wife’s haircut.

Singer Willow told Billboard in an interview published Friday: “I see my whole family as being human, and I love and accept them for all their humanness.

“Because of the position that we’re in, our humanness sometimes isn’t accepted, and we’re expected to act in a way that isn’t conducive to a healthy human life and isn’t conducive to being honest.”

Mario Kart 8 Leak Might Have Clues About Future DLC Courses

Mario and friends race along the new MK8 stage Waluigi Pinball.

screenshot: Nintendo

Nintendo hasn’t revealed what the majority of mario kart 8‘s new courses will be, but players think they already know thanks to some clues reportedly left in the latest DLC files. Dataminers say the latest update contains a ton of leftover music references that hint at what 14 of the remaining 32 courses will be.

“Nintendo left then song prefetches to many future dlc courses in the BGM.bars of wave 2,” dataminer Fishguy6564 wrote on Twitter Thursday night. The discovery, apparently made by YouTube account recordreader, led to a list of music tracks pointing to various courses from past games in the Mario Kart series that would presumably appear in future DLC.

[SPOILERS] MK8D BOOSTER COURSE PASS MUSIC LEAK

The full list is:

  • Peach Gardens (DS)
  • Boo Lake of Broken Pier (GBA)
  • Alpine Pass (3DS)
  • Berlin Byways (Tour)
  • Waluigi Stadium (GCN)
  • Merry Mountain (Tour)
  • Rainbow Road (3DS)
  • Amsterdam Drift (Tour)
  • Singapore Speedway (Tour)
  • Los Angeles Laps (Tour)
  • Sunset Wilds (GBA)
  • Bangkok Rush (Tour)
  • Vancouver Velocity (Tour)
  • Maple Treeway (Wii)

Combining this apparent new info with Fishguy’s past datamining of the first DLC wave revealed a pretty thorough portrait of what types of courses could be coming in the future.

A lot of the courses are from toursthemobile Mario Kart spin-off. That’s not terrible news considering that the MK8 versions of many of those have been excellent so far. But players did quickly point out that if accurate, this means there are only two more Nintendo DS stages coming, and since one of them is Peach Gardens, not all of the fan-favorites like Airship Fortress, Luigi’s Mansion, and DK Summit will make the cut.

Fans will still have to wait a bit to see if these leaks get confirmed and how the rest of the question marks will be filled in. MK8‘s Booster Course Pass will add the remaining 32 new courses between now and the end of 2023.

Celeste Barber wants to make people laugh by ‘taking the p***’ out of celebrities

Celeste Barber wants to make people laugh by “taking the p***” out of celebrities.

The 40-year-old social media star rose to fame by parodying A-listers on Instagram and explained that her work is a look at the “multi-billion dollar body shaming industry”.

She said: “I realized that there were all these kinds of images being put out there, that were sold off as being normal and every day.”

“When you bought a magazine you knew, oh that’s Cindy Crawford being Cindy Crawford but on social media, it got sold as, ‘this is what everyone looks like,’ and I was like, ‘no, I don’t reckon that’s how people really look,’ or ‘I know I don’t look like that,’ so I did ap***-take on it.

“It’s a look at celebrity culture, the beauty industry, the fashion industry, the multibillion-dollar body-shaming industry so it’s just kind of nice to cut through that a bit.”

The comedienne – who has garnered almost 10 million followers online and has impressed the likes of Naomi Watts, Bella Hadid, Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow and Drew Barrymore with her videos – explained that Hollywood stars realize that she is commenting on a “bigger” issue when she creates a parody of them and is able to “cut through” industry norms with her photos.

She told the New York Times’ Page Six column: “They understand it’s a look at something bigger than the individual. The world that they’re in… it’s cutting through the industry, you’re not taking it too seriously.”

“But I think the success that I’ve had is that I’m funny … My goal is first and foremost to make someone laugh. You make someone laugh and then we all kind of even out. That’s always been my goal, to make people laugh.”

Judith Durham, lead singer of Australia’s The Seekers, has died

“After a brief stay in the Alfred Hospital, Judith was admitted to Palliative Care on Friday 5 August, where she passed away peacefully that evening. Her death was a result of complications from a long-standing chronic lung disease,” Musicoast and Universal Music Australia said in a statement shared on the verified Facebook page for The Seekers.

“Our lives are changed forever losing our treasured lifelong friend and shining star. Her struggle was intense and heroic — never complaining of her destiny and fully accepting its conclusion. Her magnificent musical legacy Keith, Bruce and I are so blessed to share,” her former bandmates Keith Potger, Bruce Woodley and Athol Guy added in the post.

Durham helped open the door for Australian artists to achieve international fame. The Seekers, formed in 1962, were considered the first Australian pop band to achieve mainstream success in the United Kingdom and the United States.

The group’s hits included “Georgy Girl” and “A World of Our Own.”

Durham left The Seekers to pursue a solo career in 1968 and released several solo albums but continued to reunite and tour with the band in the decades after.

Several prominent Australians posted tributes Saturday.

“A national treasure and an Australian icon, Judith Durham gave voice to a new strand of our identity and helped blaze a trail for a new generation of Aussie artists,” wrote Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Twitter.

“Her kindness will be missed by many, the anthems she gave to our nation will never be forgotten.”

Australian comedian and actress Magda Szubanski shared her “deepest condolences to her loved ones” on Twitter.

“Her beautiful, crystalline voice was the naive but knowing siren song of my childhood,” wrote Szubanski.

Tanya Plibersek, Australian Minister for the Environment and Water, called Durham “a trailblazer and an icon in Australian music” on Twitter. “Her songs will live on forever.”

The pair first shared the pregnancy news in an exclusive STM interview, where they opened up about their shared joy in embarking on the next chapter of their relationship together.

“We were both stoked and super surprised, we had expected a bit more of a journey (trying to fall pregnant),” she said.

“I think culture will play a big part (in raising our child),” Naitanui, 32, added.

“I guess growing up in Australia, a big thing that I haven’t let go of is my Fijian heritage and my background there. So for me, I think it’d be good to teach our child Fijian. I’d love my kids to be bilingual and speak both languages. And also just have a sense of understanding of where they come from, and what’s come before.”

STM wellness columnist Bown, 28, admitted that Naitanui’s relaxed outlook on life provides her with a sense of relief and confidence ahead of their journey as parents together.

“Nic is so fun, and I think he reminds me that sometimes that’s the best part of life,” she said

“I feel very comfortable going into parenthood knowing our child is always going to have someone to play with and make them laugh.

“He’s also not a panicker. He he’ll say ‘oh well, we’ll sleep later’, or ‘we’ll handle it’. I know as things come our way, if I’m stressed, he’s the type of person who will be OK, he will say it’s not a big deal and calm the whole situation down.

Father-to-be Naitanui mirrored Bown’s sentiment, saying his pilates instructor partner will be “perfect”.

“I think she’ll be perfect. Ella she’s pretty good around children and has a very caring nature. So I think she’ll fit perfectly in the role of being a mother,” he revealed.

The lovebirds’ anticipated due date comes at the pointy end of AFL season, although the Eagles star has a perspective on the bigger picture of life.

“(At the club) we always talk about the rollercoaster, you don’t get too carried away over the highs or too sad when there are lows,” he said.

During STM's photo shoot this week in a field in Perth's south, Naitanui, 32, says he is very much at ease around children.

“A lot of guys have different life experiences throughout their journey, whether it’s birth or death or things like that.

“Footy is a big part of your life, but it’s not the whole thing… it’s something that’s really important to me but at the same time, there’s a lot of things that happen away from the footy field that mean just as much. ”

Marriage is on the cards, but the couple is in “no rush”.

“We’ve got a lot of room for a baby in our lives right now … the other stuff will happen but we’re not going to rush into it.”

Kim Kardashian and comedian Pete Davidson have ended their relationship, a source close to the couple tells CNN.

“They did break up this week amicably due to distance and schedules,” the source said.

The pair, who became Instagram official in March and made their red carpet debut in May, have been romantically linked since October 2021.

In an episode of her Hulu series, Kardashian opened up about meeting Davidson when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” and making a connection with him.

“I did ‘SNL,’ and then when we kissed in the scene, it was just a vibe,” Kardashian said on the show noting that Davidson did not attend the after-show party.

Later, she said, she decided to pursue him.

“I called the producer at ‘SNL’ and was like, ‘Hey, do you have Pete’s number?’ she counted.

“And they were like, ‘Yeah.’ I text him. I wasn’t even thinking like, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna be in a relationship with him.’”

Davidson left the long-running comedy sketch show at the end of last season after eight years.

Kardashian was declared legally single by a Los Angeles court in March, after filing a request several months ago that her estranged husband, musician Kanye West, opposed.

The former couple, who had a contentious divorce battle, have four children together.
