A Bunnings worker has sparked a debate about what the clear pockets on the front of staff aprons are actually used for.
Sharing on TikTok, the employee wrote: “Okay… Here’s what the Bunnings pouch is really for.”

After shoppers discovered the pockets were used to display team member’s name tag, the worker said there was another hidden purpose for the clear pouches.
She claimed there’s a second “secret compartment” in the pocket that holds a small notepad which is unique to each Bunnings store.
“Name badge yes, however we have a notepad for every store,” she said in the video.
In the footage, you can see the Bunnings team member pull out the green notepad from the hidden compartment.
She added: “I’ve worked in probably eight Bunnings stores in my eight years, and I’ve always gotten one.”
Bunnings fans have been in a spin over the easy-to-miss detail after Australian comedian Luke Donkin raised the issue in a recent viral TikTok post last month.
“I honestly have no idea what this pocket is used for,” he said.
“I’ve always wanted to put like a trail mix in it and then just (motions to eat it) throughout the day. But I’d probably get in trouble.”
At the time, it was confirmed that the clear pouch was used to hold the staff member’s name tag.
But just when you think you may know all there is to know about the pockets on the front of Bunnings staff aprons, there appears to be yet another twist.
While another worker pointed out there’s yet another secret compartment.
“My apron has three pockets there… you showed two,” they said.
Former foreign minister turned mining adviser and fashion icon Julie Bishop has made another bold statement in her life post-politics.
Ms Bishop joined Australian department store David Jones for their first runway show in four years to premiere the latest Spring/ Summer 22 collection.
She turned heads on Wednesday night’s red carpet in a $3750 metallic jacquard long sleeve mini dress designed by French luxury fashion house Balmain.
The former politician slipped on a pair of black stockings, simple black pumps and completed the head-to-toe black look with a clutch adorned with silver chain detail.
Ms Bishop received a string of adoring comments when she posted photos of her look to her Instagram account.
Pip Edwards of Aussie activewear brand PE Nation wrote, “You stunner.”
“Va va va Voom!!,” Sunrise entertainment reporter Nelson Aspen commented.
One spot-on Instagram user compared Ms Bishop’s look to that of the late Princess Diana’s infamous ‘revenge’ dress which she wore at her first public event following her headline-making split from Prince Charles.
“Is that like Diana’s revenge dress?,” they said.
The skin tight mini black number certainly looked similar to the Christina Stambolian cocktail dress worn by the British princess.
It’s even more fitting given Ms Bishops very public split from long-time boyfriend David Panton who reportedly dumped her over dinner in July ending their eight-year relationship.
“I’m very busy,” Bishop told Confidential of her newly single life.
“I spend a lot of time at the ANU as chancellor, I’m doing a lot of speaking engagements and attending fabulous events like the David Jones launch”.
Just this month, Bishop hosted a Q&A with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended by university students from across Australia.
Ms Bishop also showed off a return to her iconic close-cropped blonde look after many months of growing out her hair post-politics.
“Ooo has she gone short hair again! I love her with short hair,” One fan, @amysuart commented below the photo.
“Looking gorgeous, what an inspiration, love the new do,” a friend said.
Bishop told Confidential she rushed to the salon just hours before the event.
“It’s a post-Covid recovery haircut,” Bishop said.
“After we went into lockdown I let my hair grow and then it became so easy but I managed to get an appointment with Scott Sloan, whom I have a great deal of respect for, and he cut my hair so I’m feeling great. ”
Ms Bishop was joined on the guest list by indie artist Vera Blue, model Natalie Roser, TV-host Erin Holland, activewear entrepreneur Pip Edwards, and fashion designer Bianca Spender at the flagship store.
Hyundai always says its N cars are made (and warrantied) for the track, and the updated N Track Maps software launching this week suggests it practices what it preaches.
In some ways it brings a Gran Turismo racing sim to life.
Track Maps uses the satellite navigation system to work out when you’re approaching a given track in your i20 N, i30 Sedan N, or Kona N, and subsequently displays the circuit layout.
For more Motoring related news and videos check out Motoring >>
Functions include an automated lap timer triggered each time you cross the start line, in place of a lap timer button. This “frees up brain capacity for hitting each apex”, reckons Hyundai.
Moreover, the position of the vehicle on the track is also shown in the display, along with live lap timing and a log of previous lap times. Lap timing is also displayed in the driver’s digital cluster.
There’s also data-logging including an onboard acceleration timer; g force meter; and power, torque and turbocharger boost gauges.
Track Maps debuted in the Kona N and is now available in the i20 N and i30 Sedan N. Unfortunately the i30 Hatch N uses different infotainment hardware and misses out.
The feature initially covered Sydney Motorsport Park, but now includes many of Australia’s pre-eminent tracks.
The latest Track Maps software is available at update.hyundai.com, so there’s no need to visit a dealer. This and subsequent software updates can be downloaded onto a USB and uploaded by the user into a compatible Hyundai N model’s navigation/multimedia system.
The process only takes a few minutes and the updates come without cost, Hyundai added.
“Every Hyundai N model has an innate sense of fun and driver involvement engineered into it,” claims Hyundai Motor Company Australia CEO Ted Lee.
“Now, that’s complemented by the Track Maps software that can recognize and automatically record lap times around a host of Australian racing circuits, to prompt the driver when the opportunity for driving fun arises,” he said.

The North Coast Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care has since warned residents to “use caution” when walking pets around the areas of Buddina, Minyama, Point Cartwright and La Balsa, which are part of one continuous coastline.
“We, unfortunately, have had a series of patients presenting with alike symptoms that may suggest a toxicity by ingestion,” it said.
“Although we are unable to confirm the cause of these presentations, the link to these patients is the area that they have walked within the 12 hours prior.”
Symptoms include gastrointestinal upsets, breathlessness, lethargy, or any change in the behavior of your pet.
‘Absolutely heartbroken’
One man claimed his six-month-old puppy fell ill after visiting Kawana Beach on Wednesday. On Saturday, she was put down.
“This doesn’t seem like a coincidence, so I’d recommend steering clear for now. Please share around, as I don’t want any other beloved pets to die or anyone else to go through what I have,” he said.
“Absolutely heartbroken.”
Buderim dog day-care centre, Doggie Adventure Playhouse, also shared that one of its dogs, Billy, appeared to have been a victim of poisoning after visiting Buddina on Sunday. He died on Monday morning.
“Our loving thoughts and cuddles go out to Billy’s beautiful and heartbroken parents,” it said.
Silver Lining Pet Rescue Inc said one of her dogs, Sophie, also died over the weekend while on an adoption trial.
“Both Sophie’s now owner and foster mum are devastated at her passing. Please take care until the cause is known, ”she said.
Some locals had expressed concern online that communal drinking bowls might have been contaminated.
Queensland Police told 7NEWS.com.au that it had been “made aware of several instances of alleged dog poisoning in the Sunshine Coast area and are looking into the matter”.
“Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.”
While the exact cause of the poisonings is unclear, a Sunshine Coast Council spokesperson confirmed it was assisting the Queensland Police Service and RSPCA Queensland in the investigation.
“In the meantime, the Council has taken precautionary measures to reduce the risk of animals drinking possibly contaminated water by emptying and sanitizing all dog water bowls in the area,” she said.
“We are also working to remove any loose water bowls and seal any fixed bowls to prevent access.”
The council also encouraged pet owners to keep their dogs in sight at all times while in off-leash areas, ensure their dog is responsive to voice commands before letting them off-leash and contact their vet at the first sign of any symptoms.
It’s the cheeky new rule causing outrage among fans of the classic card game UNO.
According to the gaming company’s website, players can now use a Skip card to avoid a Draw 2 — as long as they are the same color — and pass the buck to the next player.
“Skipping never felt so good,” UNO’s official Twitter account says.
“If someone plays a Draw 2 on you and you have a Skip card of the SAME COLOR in your hand, you can play it and ‘bounce’ the penalty to the next player!”
And get this, if the next player has a Skip card of any colour, they can play it and kick the penalty further down the line.
“The next player must draw the two cards, unless they have a Skip card (of any colour) they can play, in which case they pass the penalty to the next player and so on until no one has a Skip card and must draw two cards,” the company says.
The change, flagged on UNO’s Twitter account in 2020, has left many fans aghast.
“Absolutely not,” one player said. “I’ve lost enough friendships over fighting this exact rule.
“I can’t find this in the rule book — surely this is fake!”
Another simply wrote: “Nah no.”
And another said: “I’m starting to believe y’all don’t know how to play your own game.”
It comes after UNO confirmed that Wild Draw 4 and Draw 2 cards could not be stacked.
It meant that if a player put down a Wild Draw 4, the next player must simply draw four cards and skip their turn.
Another Wild Draw 4 cannot be stacked on top and passed to the next player down the line.
UNO said this had been the rule all along but it caused a storm among players who had always used the strategy — and mostly still do.
In 2019, UNO released a new version of the card game to add extra spice.
UNO Flip has gained its fair share of core fans, with many considering it more competitive.
The entire deck is double-sided, with a “light side” resembling the original game and a “dark side” where penalties are far tougher.
If you score a Flip card, you gain the power of revealing a new set of numbers and colors on the other side.
But there is one rule that never changes — whatever you do, don’t forget to shout “UNO” when you’re down to your last card.
My Kitchen Rules fans have been left stunned by Nigella Lawson — and not just the star power, charisma and expertise she brings to the show.
The British chef has left viewers gobsmacked over her age.
It seems Lawson, who published her first cookbook in 1998 before breaking into TV with Nigella Bites in 1999, has a timeless beauty.
Because believe it or not, she is 62.
Lawson puts her youthful look down to staying out of the sun and eating “lots of fats.”
“I think what ages a face most is disappointment and a lack of enjoyment,” she said.
“So I try to do what I love.”
Lawson’s timeless look has left fans of Channel 7’s reality TV cooking show speechless.
“Look at her neck, not a single wrinkle — I’m telling you, forget what ppl tell you, endulge in butter and cream and sweets, and chocolate and lush velvety rich sauces — and live and look like #QueenNigella#MKR,” one wrote.
Another said: “Can someone explain to me how Nigella Lawson can look so stunning ALL THE TIME?
“She 62yo and looks 42. What kind of witchcraft is she performing!”
Yet another said: “If I don’t age like Nigella Lawson, I don’t want to get old at all.”
Since her first appearance on MKR on Sunday night, viewers have flocked to social media to dub her the “vital ingredient”.
After the exit of long-term judge Pete Evans, whose reputation took a tumble after his peddling of anti-vaxer conspiracy theories on social media, Manu Feildel has been paired with the British domestic goddess.
Their first episode saw them head to Victoria to taste the dishes of father-daughter duo Peter and Alice, and Lawson was clearly the star of the show, with the contestants even joking about giving her used cutlery to their family as gifts.
But when things fell apart in the kitchen, viewers really warmed to Lawson when she offered encouraging words.
“Nigella is the vital ingredient this show has been missing,” Twitter user Archie Banez wrote.
“Not only is she a bona fide food-lover & relatable to all us home cooks but it’s her personable nature, positive energy, insightfulness & unique way with words that makes her so endearing.”
Viewers also remarked on Lawson’s warm demeanour, while others said her presence encouraged them to tune in after not watching the show for years.
And she even won over the critics.
TV Writer Colin Vickery described Lawson as a “hoot” and “funnier and cheekier than on MasterChef”.
During the episode, Lawson showed her down-to-earth nature, ditching the cutlery to chomp at a lamb cutlet.
And while Peter and Alice’s home restaurant faced plenty of hurdles—and even a watery dessert fail—Lawson still tried to keep spirits high.
On Tuesday, Lawson took to Twitter to reply to some of the comments, saying that she was gutted for Peter and Alice.
“I was heartbroken for them. And hated the idea they would feel ashamed in any way,” she posted.
“We’ve all messed up in the kitchen — and beyond! —and none of us wants to be judged on our worst moments. And those lamb chops were divine!”
After a two-year hiatus, the return of MKR attracted 502,000 viewers across the country.
Channel Seven has been focusing on bringing the series back to its home cooking roots after it took a back seat to manufactured drama in previous seasons, previously saying this season would be about “real food and real people” — and audiences seem to be embracing the change.
Almost 14,000 Holden vehicles have been recalled over a manufacturing defect that could increase the risk of an accident.
This week, the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications issued a recall of some 13,898 Holden ZB Commodore 2017-2020 cars.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the brake booster may fail. If this occurs, the stopping distance in the un-boosted condition would exceed the distance prescribed by the Australian Design Rule (ADR) 31/03,” the department said.

“The vehicle is not compliant with the vehicle standard (ADR) 31/03-Brake Systems for Passenger Cars.”
There are fears that if the brake booster does not operate as intended, it could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.
The owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by General Motors Australia and New Zealand and asked to contact their local dealer to have the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) software updated, free of charge.

A traveler has detailed the shocking moment she was “kicked off” a Jetstar flight after being mistakenly told she had a “dangerous” item in her checked suitcase.
Clare Vertannes was in her seat ready for takeoff from Sydney to Perth shortly after 12pm on April 10 when a flight attendant told her she could no longer fly with the budget airline.

The 26-year-old event coordinator claims she started to “panic” when she was ordered off the flight without any explanation.
“I kept asking the flight attendant what was going on and I essentially started to freak out. Many thoughts started to rush through my head at this point,” Clare tells 7Life.
“I felt beyond confused and in disbelief because I had no idea what was going on.”
Eventually, she was told there was a “dangerous” battery pack in her checked luggage – but Clare insisted hers was in her carry-on handbag.
“I knew my battery pack was not in my suitcase because it was in my handbag, which I proceeded to take out and show her,” Clare claims.
“After I showed her my battery pack and tried to tell her that there had been a mistake, she proceeded not to acknowledge what I was saying and kept repeating that I needed to collect my suitcase from baggage claim.”
Realizing she would miss her existing flight, Clare – who was visiting Sydney on a work trip – asked whether she was going to be put on the next plane to Perth.
‘angry and annoyed’
“The flight attendant said to me… that Jetstar will not be paying for another seat for me,” she claims.
“She said it was my fault that I had held up all these people on the plane and that I, in fact, had to compensate them because I had held up the scheduled flight.
“Again, I was in disbelief and this is when I started to feel angry and annoyed because she was blaming me and not giving me the benefit of the doubt.”
Clare says she was left in tears by the time she arrived at baggage claim.
As she made her way to the counter, she was allegedly told her checked suitcase did not contain any “dangerous” item.
“The staff member said, ‘I’m so sorry, there’s been a miscommunication… there is nothing wrong with your bags – I left the desk to go to the bathroom and came back to this mess, I’m so, so sorry’,” Clare recalls.
“Honestly, I was hoping there was something in my suitcase so this drama wasn’t for nothing.”
‘Absolute s*** show’
Furious, Clare says she started to “raise her voice” because she was “upset and emotional” over the debacle.
“I got very angry and started to vent to her about how ridiculous this is and how it was an absolute s*** show,” she says.
“But then I started apologizing to the staff member because I knew it wasn’t her fault.
“After all that, I took a moment to breathe and said, ‘Ok, well, it is what it is, what’s the plan now? Can I get on the next flight?’ She said, ‘There’s no more flights to Perth until tomorrow’.
“I then told her that I needed to be on a flight back to Perth today and that I’d sit and wait for a flight – and that’s what I did.”
After waiting for an hour, Clare was offered a free Qantas flight to Perth on the same day – but she needed to wait seven hours.
“Qantas had a spare seat and they had secured it for me. No upgrades or compensation – just the seat,” she says.
During the wait, she tried to leave her suitcase at the airport so she could return to the city – but was told she needed to pay an extra $50 for storage.
“When they were asking me to pay to put my luggage somewhere after the whole order, I was over it,” she says.
“I decided to lug my suitcase back to the city. I ended up catching a cab because the trains weren’t working.”
‘I was shook’
In a shock turn of events, Clare received an email from Jetstar saying she was charged $10 for a pie under her seat number – despite her having been kicked off the flight.
“I remember sitting in my (Qantas) seat, thinking what else could possibly happen? And then I get an email from Jetstar. It goes: ‘Thank you so much for your pie purchase on your recent Jetstar flight’,” she says.
“I was shook… Someone on my flight had charged a foot to my seat and I got that invoice.
“Honestly, I was just in disbelief. I was thinking, ‘Is this real? Are they having me for a laugh?’ I was done at this point.”
After the mishap, Jetstar offered her a $116.22 cash refund and a $350.78 voucher.
However, Clare is demanding a full cash refund of $467 and a $50 reimbursement for the taxi fare into the city.
“They didn’t give me the compensation I asked for, but they sent me a voucher to ‘compensate’ for the flight I was kicked off,” she says.
“I don’t know why they bothered giving me a voucher – it’s not like I will be flying with them again.”
Jetstar responds
In a letter to Clare, a Jetstar employee explained why the airline was unable to offer her a “monetary refund”.
“I hope you’d appreciate that we can only return something to you in its original form,” the letter read.
“Since you have paid for this booking using a voucher and a credit card payment, we can only process a voucher equivalent to the amount paid via voucher and a cash refund equivalent to the amount paid via credit card.
“We are unable to process a cash refund for a booking which wasn’t paid in cash in the first place.”
The letter added: “We have assessed your claim in line with all relevant laws and conventions and I appreciate how unhappy you are with this outcome.
“However, we’re comfortable that we’ve met our obligations under applicable law by providing this outcome to you.
“We will respect your opinion and decision on this matter however our position remains the same.”
A Jetstar spokesman told 7NEWS.com.au: “We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding and are looking into what took place.”
Four months on from the flight drama, Clare is speaking out about the ordeal on TikTok.
“Now that I’ve overcome my PTSD, I can finally share to you all the trauma that Jetstar gave me,” she said in a now-viral video with more than 700,000 views.
She adds: “I’m glad I shared my experience though because everyone is starting to share their horror stories too and hopefully something will change on how budget airlines treat their customers.”
Woolworths customers in two states have reported concerning incidents with recent iceberg lettuce purchases, prompting the supermarket giant to launch an investigation.
Sharing on Facebook, two shoppers – from Queensland and NSW – revealed that they’d discovered brown spots in lettuce that were recently purchased from Woolies.
It’s understood the discolouring is associated with excessive humidity and wet weather conditions in growing regions.
For more Food related news and videos check out Food >>
While the disease – believed to be a bacterial soft rot – looks unsavory, 7NEWS.com.au understands that lettuce heads that have the discolouring are not a health risk and can be consumed.
With iceberg lettuce prices soaring to record highs in recent months, the customers have voiced their frustration at having taken home lettuce that were less than perfect.
Both shoppers reported that the icebergs appeared to be normal and in good condition when they were purchased.
However it was only when they peeled back the outer leaves at home, that the brown spots and slime became visible.
“I treated us to a ‘fresh’ iceberg lettuce today from Woolworths for the first time in months,” said one Ipswich customer.
“Took off the outer leaves to put the ‘fresh’ inner leaves on our chicken burgers for dinner. Yeah, that didn’t happen considering I was met with a slimy, rotten mess. Yuck!
“The outer leaves looked normal … certainly not paying $6.50 for something I have to chuck straight to the chooks!”
Another Sydney customer shared a photo of her brown lettuce, saying: “I don’t mind paying what you guys ask but this is ridiculous.”
Experts say brown, slimy spots on a lettuce – which don’t appear on the outer leaves – can be a sign of bacterial soft rot in the lettuce.
Bacterial soft rot – or pectobacterium carotovorum – is typically caused by moist conditions and injury to the plant.
The disease causes brown-coloured rot on infected areas and may go unnoticed until the leaves are removed.
Some Facebook users pointed out that recent flood conditions may have contributed to any problems with the lettuce.
“Did you stop and think that maybe, just maybe, they have been flood affected?” asked one. “It would be impossible to see what the inside looks like under the outer leaves.”
Woolworths responds
A Woolworths spokesperson has said that the supermarket is investigating the incidents.
“We take food quality seriously and are disappointed to receive similar reports from these customers,” the spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.
“We’ve passed this onto our suppliers and supply chain teams, who are assessing existing lettuce supply for any discolouring. This will continue to be monitored.
“We haven’t received any other reports on similar products at this time.”
Woolworths customers are encouraged to contact their local store for a replacement and refund if they are disappointed with the quality of one of the supermarket’s products
US star Ashton Kutcher has revealed he has been secretly battling a serious autoimmune disease that affects his hearing, sight and ability to walk.
The That ’70s Show actor shared that he is “lucky to be alive” – and it took more than a year to rebuild his vision, hearing and balance.

“Two years ago, I had this weird, super-rare form of vasculitis,” Kutcher, 44, said in an upcoming episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge, released by Access Hollywood.
“Knocked out my vision, knocked out my hearing, knocked out like all my equilibrium.
“It took me a year to build it all back up.
“You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone, until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever gonna be able to see again. I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to hear again, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to walk again.
“I’m lucky to be alive.
“The minute you start seeing your obstacles as things that are made for you, to give you what you need, then life starts to get fun, right?
“You start surfing on top of your problems instead of living underneath them.”
What is Vasculitis?
Kutcher shared his health journey with adventurer and presenter Bear Grylls as they hiked through brambles and trees.
Vasculitis occurs when the body’s immune system attacks veins, arteries and small capillaries.
Inflammation occurs as a result, which can have the effect of narrowing blood vessels and restricting blood flow.
This in turn can cause organ damage or prompt aneurysms.
If an aneurysm bursts, it can cause internal bleeding which can lead to death.
Vasculitis complications took the life of actor-director Harold Ramis in 2014.
According to the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy the disease is “relatively rare”.
Kutcher has kept a lower profile since taking a break in his career from 2014 to 2022.
He and his wife Mila Kunis, now 38, married in 2015 and welcomed two children, Wyatt, seven, and Dimitri, five.
Kutcher and Kunis met on That ’70s Show in 1998, starring as an on-screen couple Jackie and Michael.
