Bold & Beautiful: Brooke Makes Deacon Leave Her Home as Ridge Arrives With Taylor

On the Forrester jet, Finn, Steffy and Taylor laugh as Finn says the kids are asleep and Ridge is pinned under them, also asleep. As Steffy and Finn kiss, Taylor enthuses that she is so happy — this is a milestone for their family! As the flight continues, Taylor relives the kiss with Ridge in her mind and smiles. Steffy notices and questions her.

At Brooke’s place, she’s eager to see Ridge and gushes to Hope that he must be overjoyed. Talk turns to Sheila still being out there, and Brooke vows not to let that consume her. Hope asks if Ridge ever said anything about the selfie she posted. “It shouldn’t be a big deal.” Brooke only spoke to him once, but he was pre-occupied and rushed. Hope apologizes again as Deacon walks in and asks, “Sorry about what?” Brooke gawps, “Seriously?!” He’s just walked into her house again. Deacon saucily responds that he heard through the grapevine (he points at Hope) Ridge was on a plane and took the opportunity to come and see his two favorite ladies of him.

At Carter’s place, he and Quinn are in bed, grinning from ear-to-ear. She breathes, “Ah, this is the life,” and wants to make a pact. He’s in, no matter what it is. Quinn thinks they need to make it a tradition to play hooky from work, at least once a month, and spend the day in bed. “We need to celebrate us.” They kiss. Carter tells Quinn how amazing she looks in her bed. She purrs that he looks pretty amazing himself. Carter tried giving up on her, but it wasn’t possible. Quinn’s so proud she gets to love him.

Carter recaps that Quinn was committed to Eric, and he tried to move on. “I still can’t believe you’re here.” Quinn assures him she’s not going anywhere. Talk turns to Ridge — Carter spoke to him last night and he’s never heard his friend from him sound happier. Quinn does not want Ridge to talk in the bed and he can think of another way to pass the time. They start making love.

At Brooke’s place, Deacon declares that he feels grounded in something good when he’s with Hope and Brooke — he’d never come around when Ridge was there. Brooke feels like she’s sneaking around behind her husband’s back and wonders if she’s over-reacting. Hope thinks she may be paranoid because of the selfie. Deacon asks why she took it down and guesses Brooke was afraid of hurting Ridge’s delicate sensibilities from her. Brooke wants to show her husband that she’s dedicated to him, and when he comes home, Deacon can’t be there. Deacon agrees.

On the Forrester jet, Steffy tells Finn they’re going to celebrate him every day once they’re home. Taylor goes over the miracle they experienced after landing in Monaco. Finn goes to wake up Ridge and the kids and Steffy turns to her mother from her. “You seem distracted by something other than Finn and me.” Taylor insists she’s only thinking of Finn being alive. “It’s the best feeling in the world.” They embrace.

At Carter’s place, Quinn is so happy being in his arms. They go over how long they hid their feelings from everyone, including themselves and each other. Quinn’s glad she got to that crazy wedding in time to save him from himself. They start making out again.

At Forrester Creations, Hope asks Deacon if he’s okay — he seems a little sad. He shrugs, “It shows, huh?” Hope knows how he feels about her mom de ella and that it hurts to be rejected. Deacon cares about Brooke and at the end of the day, he just wants her to be happy. That said, he doubts she’s ever going to find true happiness with Ridge. Hope realizes that he’ll never be good enough for her mom in Deacon’s eyes. Deacon questions, “If there aren’t any residual feelings for Taylor, then why hasn’t he fully recommitted to your mom?”

More: Opinion: Steffy and Finn fans should dread what’s next

Brooke’s surprised when Ridge arrives at home with Taylor in tow. She asks how Monaco was and Ridge enthuses, “It was incredible.” Taylor cringes a little when he walks over and plants a kiss on Brooke, who says she can only imagine how they’re feeling right now. Taylor and Ridge go over how amazing it was when Finn showed up in Monaco — it was great to see Steffy smile again. Brooke’s glad they’re back home, especially Ridge. “I missed you so much.” They kiss and embrace and Taylor and Ridge lock eyes.

Finn is overcome with emotion as he, Steffy and the kids walk through the door of the cliff house. So many times, I have imagined being back there with them… it seemed distant sometimes. Steffy assures he’s back where he belongs. Finn spots a drawing of them as a family and Kelly says she drew it to make him come home. They hug. “I missed you, Finn.” Finn missed her too. Steffy, holding Hayes, welcomes her husband home. Steffy tells her husband how sad the house was when he was gone. But he’s here now — it’s a miracle. Finn pictured himself there with them to get through his order of him. They express their love and kiss until Kelly calls, “Mom!” Finn says, “Let me,” and heads to the bedroom, where he emerges with both kids and hands the baby over to Steffy, proceeding to tickle a delighted Kelly.

Helen Mirren on red carpet fashion and ageless style

These days, the word “influencer” gets bandied around a lot, a catch-all term for anyone trying to get noticed on social media. But if you want to see a real influencer, take one look at Helen Mirren, who at 77 has more fashion- and beauty-industry clout than most young Insta stars could ever dream of. Sitting across from me via a screen – Helen is in Cannes, I’m in London – wearing a slim-cut, round-neck green dress with her hair slicked back in a modern ponytail, she looks every inch an idol. The actor has the sort of presence and confidence that is alluring in anyone, whether 17 or 70.

Yet she is a charmingly un-grandiose interviewee, making relaxed chit-chat. Her well-trained eye de ella immediately zones in on my cheesecloth blouse: she squints and asks if it’s vintage (it is). She talks about the “very hot” weather in Cannes, and asks whether it’s sunny in London as if we’re old friends.

We’re speaking the day before a red-carpet appearance. Helen tells me she’ll be wearing a sparkly Jenny Packham gown and no, she hasn’t thought about how she’ll wear her hair or make-up yet. (As it turned out, she had hair extensions put in to create an XXL half-ponytail.)

Helen is as chic as she is charming. Her irreverent style of her and “so what?” attitude to beauty are so appealing in this cookie-cutter world. A regular on the red carpet and the awards circuit, her fashion choices get braver and bolder every year, making her a frequent feature on best-dressed lists, too.

Whether she’s in a pretty floral dress toughened up with Russell & Bromley biker boots, as seen on The Graham Norton Show Earlier this year, the waist-cinching sugary-pink Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore to collect her Lifetime Achievement prize at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, or the bright-yellow frock she sported at Cannes last year, her approach is never timid. And Helen, an ambassador for L’Oréal Paris (that’s her de ella, below, walking in their 2019 show de ella), is also up for adventure when it comes to beauty, trying pink hair, “bad-ass” eye make-up up and everything in between.

So who better to discuss her past red-carpet looks than Helen herself? With some pictures to hand, she talks to me through some of the most interesting from recent years, and the seven lessons in beauty and style that make her an inspiration to women of all ages.

Being bad-ass can be a lot of fun

“I’m very free with my make-up; I get to work with amazing make-up artists, so I just let them do whatever inspires them. For this L’Oréal Paris show, the make-up artist Val Garland just said, ‘I feel like doing something really, really extreme.’ The reaction from people to the thick, heavy eyeliner was a mixture of amazement and a tinge of horror, which is a good reaction as far as I’m concerned. I thought it was so fun! And of course I had an amazing outfit on, so the whole thing worked. The whole look was very bad-ass.”

Trust your instincts – and take your skincare down to your neck

In a blue velvet Elie Saab gown at Cannes, 2018.

“When it comes to the outfit I choose for an event, I’m really quick. I work with either a stylist or a fashion designer and see what they’ve got and what they can lend me. And I can see what will work immediately; I won’t fuss around. With this blue gown at Cannes, I had decided I’d had enough of frills and sequins and I didn’t want to sparkle that year. I just wanted something sculptured and tailored, and I loved the slightly medieval feel of the dress. It was low-cut, so my make-up artist took my make-up down to my neck. I always take my skincare right down to my décolletage, even though I don’t tend to go so low-cut any more.”

It’s all about balance

In a silky yellow Dolce & Gabbana dress at Cannes, 2021.

“Sometimes the dress you wear says it all. You put it on and that’s it, enough said. That’s why with this Dolce & Gabbana gown, I wore my hair up in
a relaxed bun to balance out the impact of the dress. It was so bright, and if you have one extreme, you need to make sure you don’t go too extreme elsewhere. What I loved about this dress was how it floated and the way the silk moved when there was just a little bit of wind. I also love dresses that float.”

Feel comfortable, look better

On the red carpet in Jenny Packham at Cannes, 2022.

“For this year’s Cannes Film Festival, I chose a Jenny Packham dress. she she’s
a wonderful British designer whose dresses I’ve worn a few times. I don’t know how she does it, but she creates these incredible sparkly things and they’re always really comfortable to wear. I’ve learned over the years that to find something comfortable is almost the most important thing. If it’s not the most glamorous item in the world, you can do fancy hair or wear beautiful jewelry. But comfort is terribly important because then you’ll actually look like you’re enjoying yourself. It makes a big difference for me.”

Hair accessories add a “wow” factor

“I’ve only recently discovered headbands, and have worn a few on
the red carpet. I always worried they looked a bit ‘Sloane Ranger’ so had
a resistance to them, but now I think they add a lot to an outfit. I also love
a scarf tied around my hair, or a turban … and I used to like hats. In 1995, I went to the Oscars the first time I was nominated and wore a hat – I don’t know what I possessed! I thought it was like going to an English wedding, or even Royal Ascot. I’ve never worn one on the red carpet since.”

Don’t try to emulate anyone else

At the 2011 Golden Globes.

“I don’t have the easiest shape to deal with. I’m not tall or slim, I’m curvy and short, so only certain things look good and some very edgy things just don’t work. And that’s fine. There are people whose style I love but wouldn’t necessarily try to emulate because everyone’s different. I love Helena Bonham Carter’s fashion sense, and how Kristen Stewart dresses. Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett have great style, too. They’re all women who really push the boat out – and that’s something I admire.”

Hair and make-up are temporary, so take risks

With pink hair at Cannes, 2019.

“I love being creative with my hair and make-up, because nothing is permanent. A few years ago, I had this gorgeous pink and gold Elie Saab dress. I thought, ‘Ooh, maybe I’ll do my hair the same colour.’ It was completely my idea: hair can be an accessory, too. The pink was wash-in, wash-out. At 6pm I was my natural colour, by 7pm I was pink and by 11 the next morning I was my color again. Why not?

Demi Moore naked pregnancy Vanity Fair cover: Why the ‘More Demi Moore’ cover was never meant to be seen by the public | FreezeFrame

It’s the photo that changed the course of pregnancy photoshoots forever – and obliterated the idea that pregnancy was anything but sexy and empowering.

the ‘More Demi Moore’ Vanity Fair cover of August 1991 was the photoshoot that had everybody talking.

Selling a record number of 1.2 million copies that month (a major boost from the usual 800,000 for the publication), Annie Leibovitz’s snap of a naked, glowing and seven-month-pregnant Demi Moore was a sight for sore eyes.

Then Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown revealed to CNBC’s ‘The Brave Ones’ that prior to Moore’s shoot, pregnant celebrities were routinely photographed from the chest up.

She had an urge to do something different.

“I had been looking for a cover that would sort of turn the mood from the ’80s right into the new ’90s feeling of a slightly fresher era,” she said.

When Brown commissioned iconic photographer Leibovitz for the shoot, the initial plan was to photograph Moore in a tight black dress – to show off her curves.

The idea felt revolutionary enough. They had one half of “Hollywood’s hottest celebrity couple”, with Moore at a peak in her career de ella, riding the waves of her moment de ella in Ghost.

Married to fellow movie star Bruce Willis, Moore was of a glam factor like no one else at the time. She was 28, expecting her second child from her, a rumored “diva”, demanding, passionate and deeply in love.

But when Leibovitz returned from the shoot to show off the black dress snaps, she revealed something else up her sleeve.

Brown recalled: “[Leibovitz] said, ‘But there is this other picture that I took, but I really did it for just Demi and Bruce Willis.”

“And I said, ‘Well, show me it,’ and then I saw the picture of Demi, naked and pregnant, in all her glory, and I said, ‘Annie, we just have to have this for the cover. This is the cover.'”

Immediately, Brown called Moore to check that they could use the other photo – which she agreed to – but while she was a quick one to win over, retailers weren’t so easy.

American retailer Walmart refused to sell the magazine calling it “indecent.”

While many pushed back against the cover, there were plenty of others who celebrated it.

Speaking with supermodel Naomi Campbell for her No Filter series on YouTubeMoore reflected on what the photo meant at the time.

“I understand what impact it had on the world. On women, on our permission to embrace ourselves in a pregnant state,” she said.

“But it was a moment that I was taking to really be in myself and be expressing myself and not trying to be anything other than me.”

In the 1991 cover story that accompanies the photo, which also features a number of other photos of the actress wearing lace lingerie and short black pointed heels, Moore herself reflects on how important her role of motherhood is to her.

As journalist Nancy Collins quotes her in the 1991 piece: “Pregnancy agrees with me,” she says, beaming. “I feel comfortable.”

At a time when thinness was a do-or-die ordeal for women, Moore’s photoshoot was a comforting, breath of fresh air.

In her accompanying interview, she spruiked no “life-changing” diets or impossible workouts. Instead, she talked at length about her love for her children, and her desires for her as a mother.

“I didn’t go back to work until Rumer was five months old,” Moore said of her eldest child in the 1991 interview.

She added on motherhood: “I wasn’t interested in having someone else come in the middle of the night to do stuff I’d been waiting to do. Rumer slept in our bed until very recently, every night.

“That’s a philosophy. There’s just a closeness and a security that you’re there. I didn’t care that I was awakened two to three times a night and still had to get up at six o’clock in the morning and go to work.”

Today, the ‘More Demi Moore’ cover is considered the pregnant celebrity’s ‘rite of passage’ photoshoot, and has been copied a number of times by celebrities like Britney Spears, Cindy Crawford, Serena Williams, Emily Ratajkowski, Kourtney Kardashian and more.

It is considered one of Annie Leibovitz’s most iconic photos. Not to mention that in 2008, almost fifteen years after its publication, the photo was voted the second best magazine cover of the last forty years by the American Society of Magazine Editors.

Anne Heche car crash: ‘Horrific’ new details of actress’ accident

An eyewitness to actress Anne Heche’s life-threatening car accident in Los Angeles shared new details on the crash with Fox News Digital today.

It has also emerged that Heche had joked about drinking vodka with wine chasers in an episode of her podcast that was published online on the day of the crash – and has since been scrubbed from the internet.

Heche complains of ‘very bad day’ on podcast

Heche complained of having a “bad day” and told listeners she was drinking vodka and wine in the latest episode of her podcast, published online just hours before her crash and since removed from the internet.

It’s not clear when the podcast was recorded. She and co-host Heather Duffy both speak of drinking free vodka provided by them by a podcast sponsor and washing it down with white wine, while Heche opens up about having had a “very bad day.”

“I don’t know what happened, sometimes days just suck and I don’t know if you ever have them [but] some days, those no good, very bad days, and some days just end up like this,” Heche told listeners.

“Sometimes days just suck and I don’t know if you ever have them, but you know some days, Mama says just gonna be like this. Some days there’s those no good, very bad days,” she continued.

Witness describes ‘horrific’ scenes

A witness to Heche’s crash, Lynne Bernstein, detailed the crash as “horrific” and said he could “hardly breathe” when trying to assist Heche out of the blue Mini Cooper she was driving.

“The smoke was just getting way too intense, we could hardly breathe,” Bernstein said. “The smoke was making it difficult to see.”

Bernstein said that he and his wife witnessed a car going down their street at a “high rate of speed” before his wife heard Heche’s car crash into their neighbor’s house.

Bernstein noted that his neighbor, Dave Manpearl, asked Heche if she was alright and she responded that she was not. The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on the scene, asked the neighbors if anyone was in the house and they alerted the first responders that a woman was inside.

The tenant of the house exited her home from a side room and was “shocked” by what had happened. “Get out of my house,” the tenant told the group of people outside her home before she realized a car had struck her home from her.

Dave took the tenant’s two dogs to his home. Bernstein noted that the tenant was “perfectly fine, thank God” following the explosive crash.

Bernstein shared with Fox News Digital that Heche was “conscious” but he did not know how “coherent” she was following the crash.

Manpearl exited the car when flames overtook it.

“I was positive that the driver was dead,” he told the Daily Mail “That she had burned up. It took at least 30 minutes for the fire department to douse the flames, extract the car from her and pull her out of the car.

Heche crashed a vehicle into a Mar Vista, California, home, Friday, igniting a fire, and was transported to a hospital in critical condition, according to emergency responders.

A resident was present at the time of the accident at the home and escaped injury. Heche, however, sustained burn injuries and was “conscious and breathing” when she was placed on a stretcher.

A second witness spoke with Fox News Digital outside the homeowner’s home where the damage from the crash is clearly seen.

The crash “scared the entire neighborhood,” Yaroslav Borets told Fox News Digital. “Something we will remember for a long time.” Borets noted that his neighborhood of him is “not the kind neighborhood that knows everyone next door.”

“This is generally a safe place,” he said, explaining that this type of accident doesn’t often occur in the Mar Vista neighborhood.

Brian Humphrey, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department, told Fox News Digital the person involved in the accidents was transferred to a hospital in critical condition.

The Los Angeles Fire Department shared a statement saying the vehicle had a single occupant when it rammed into a two-storey home built in 1952.

“Fifty-nine firefighters took 65 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the heavily damaged structure and rescued one female adult found within the vehicle who has been taken to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics in critical condition,” the statement said.

No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the crash is under investigation, according to FOX 11.

Heche, who has admitted to using drugs and alcohol in the past, famously dated Ellen DeGeneres from 1997 to 2000, the NY Post reported.

After their relationship ended, a shaken and disoriented Heche drove to Fresno and knocked on the door of a stranger. She was briefly hospitalized after the incident.

Heche has said in past interviews that she was molested by her father, Don Heche, from the time she was a toddler to age 12. Don Heche died of AIDS in 1983 and Anne has said he lived a double life as a closet homosexual.

Heche’s brother Nathan died in a car crash three months after the death of their father, which Anne has suggested was a suicide.

Armie Hammer reunites with estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers and their two kids in LA

Armie Hammer has been pictured reuniting with estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers for the first time since he was forced out of Hollywood and went to work as a timeshare salesman in the Cayman Islands.

Despite infidelity and allegations of rape and cannibalism, the pair appeared friendly as they spent quality time with their two kids Harper, seven, and Ford, five, in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Hammer wore a blue ‘Florida State Parks’ t-shirt, khaki shorts and flip flops. He was in the same Florida tee the last time DailyMail.com caught up with him a couple weeks ago.

The actor was with his two youngsters walking their dog Archie, the same dog that left Hammer with stiches in his hand 2020. The doting dad could be seen chatting with his kids and watching over his son as he picked up after their dog.

He then took the children to meet up with Chambers, who appeared sporty in black biker shorts, a t-shirt and sneaker. The mom-of-two enjoyed a sushi dinner with her kids.

Hammer’s life was thrown into chaos last year after a number of women claimed that he had sexually abused them while fulfilling his kinks, which allegedly included rape and cannibalism fantasies.

Two women said he told them he wanted to remove their ribs, barbecue them and eat them, and one accused him of slicing the letter ‘A’ into one of her thighs before sucking the blood out of her fresh wound.

After the accusations were made public, the actor was dropped by his agency, WME, and was subsequently let go from various film projects, including Paramount Plus series The Offer, Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding, as well as the thriller Billion Dollar Spy.

He and Chambers had announced their split a few months before the allegations surfaced.

Hammer checked into a rehabilitation center to treat sex, drug and alcohol abuse, where he stayed from May through December 2021.

He had been laying low in the Cayman Islands after the rehab stint, supposedly staying with Chambers and their two children. Hammer returned from the Caymans after he was mobbed by media when photos showed him working as a timeshare salesman went viral.

DailyMail.com previously caught up with Chambers who confirmed Robert Downey Jr. had helped fund Hammer’s rehab stint and said ‘everybody needs help.’

“Everything is good,” Chambers said last month as she stepped out for dinner in Hollywood.

She declined to comment on whether Hammer had been selling timeshares while in the islands, and but insisted that he was happy.

‘I really couldn’t talk about that,’ she said, ‘But I think he’s happy and that’s good.’

Though Hammer and Chambers separated in 2020 after he allegedly cheated on her at least twice, she characterized him as ‘my best friend.’

Asked whether she felt her husband had healed since his scandal and rehab stint, she paused and said ‘I think everyone is always going through a process.’

As to any chance of rekindling their romance, Chambers only laughed.

The since-deleted tweet’s caption read: ‘My friend’s parents went on vacation in the Cayman Islands and Armie Hammer was their concierge.’

The pamphlet included discount vouchers and advertised that Hammer would take guests to swim ‘with wild turtles’ and point them to the ‘best snorkeling and diving spots.’

The source told Variety Hammer was working the job because he was ‘broke.’

‘Common decency’: Beyoncé’s Renaissance sparks debate about the politics of music sampling | Music

RObin Stone found out that her seminal 90s house hit Show Me Love was sampled on Break My Soul, the lead single from Beyoncé’s new album Renaissance, at the same time as everyone else. As the performer rather than the writer and producer of the song, her approval of her was not required to clear its use of her – nor does she receive any income from it.

While Stone sees the nod as a compliment and proof of her 30-year relevance, it also brings up old wounds. The writers of the song, Allen George and Fred McFarlane “never gave me my proper credit”, she says. “That first note is mine, the ad-libs are all mine, I added flavor to it. They’ve been eating at my table and I’ve been feeding their families for well over 30 years.”

Stone isn’t the only artist started by the use of their music on Renaissance. This week, Beyoncé removed an interpolation – a kind of sampling that sees song excerpts re-recorded and often reworked – of Kelis’s 2003 hit Milkshake from the song Energy after the latter publicly criticized Beyoncé for not having the “common decency” to let her know . As Kelis explained, the situation rehashed an alleged dispute with the track’s credited songwriters, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of the Neptunes, whom she claims “swindled” her out of publishing rights for the two albums they made together.

Hayleigh Bosher, author of Copyright in the Music Industry, says that Beyoncé didn’t need to remove the interpolation for legal reasons but appears to have done so out of respect – and perhaps because of public perception.

“It doesn’t matter that Beyoncé didn’t actually infringe Kelis’s rights,” says Bosher. “The point is that people think she did because the public aren’t educated about music copyright. [Kelis] doesn’t have any legal standing but by being vocal on social media, she creates emotional and moral capital.”

The discourse around Renaissance has opened up questions about the politics of sampling in modern pop. Today, sampling is big business. In the credits for the 16-track Renaissance, there are nods to 17 other songs. Meanwhile, half of the current UK Top 10 singles chart features samples, ranging from excerpts of Silk’s 1979 track I Can’t Stop (Turning You On) to 2009 hit In for the Kill by La Roux.

As producer and Beyoncé collaborator the-Dream said this week, sampling came of age with the rise of hip-hop almost 50 years ago, when samples were used to make up for sparse production due to a lack of funds. Today, with hip-hop the most popular genre in the US, and dance – another sample-heavy genre – experiencing a resurgence, samples are a prerequisite for chart success.

While Beyoncé appears to have been vigilant about crediting all her samples, not doing so – or being accused of not doing so – brings the potential for an expensive lawsuit once the music is released. In 2017, Ed Sheeran added songwriting credits for the three writers of TLC’s No Scrubs to his song, Shape of You, after being accused of lifting the melody from the 90s hit.

The song originally contained a TLC sample which was taken out before it was released. The basis of the dispute, says Bosher, was the “recreation of a part of the song that’s slightly similar”. As a result, Sheeran handed over 15% of Shape of You’s publishing royalties, which is “extremely high for such a small part of the song”, she says.

The difference between interpolation and direct sampling is another potential cause for contention. Interpolation is often used for creative reasons – to reinterpret older releases and offer a nod to historically relevant tracks. However, there is evidence of record labels favoring the former due to only needing to clear one set of rights – the publishing, rather than those attached to the master recording – in order to avoid sacrificing income.

A music industry insider with extensive major label experience rubbishes this. “The label doesn’t determine anything of what gets created in the studio. You can’t tell an artist what song to sample.”

But they admit that artists might be encouraged to interpolate to avoid what is often a lengthy process to clear rights, which can delay a song’s release date. This is why the UK’s reigning summer hit, Afraid to Feel by LF System, interpolates Silk’s I Can’t Stop (Turning You On) rather than directly samples it.

Amber Davis, who works with artists including Stormzy and Dave at publisher Warner Chappell Music, says: “In this current climate, where you want to drop the song next week or you’re doing a freestyle that’s got a sample, the turnaround time pressure is quite sensitive.”

While Davis would like to see more completely original work, it doesn’t look like the widespread practice of sampling will die down anytime soon. In recent years, investors have bought up a wealth of song catalogs from artists including Leonard Cohen and Justin Timberlake for nine-figure sums and will be expecting a heady return. “Songs finding new life is what a lot of these investments are basing their futures on,” says the music industry insider.

Tony Armstrong is not secretly married, despite rumor

Beloved ABC star Tony Armstrong is this week’s Stellar magazine cover star – and in the accompanying interview, the recent Logie winner for Most Popular New Talent opens up about some of the more unusual attention he’s received in his rise to fame.

The 32-year-old AFL player and ABC NewsBreakfast presenter addressed one surprising rumor that’s sprung up about his personal life. No, Tony Armstrong is not secretly married.

“If I had a secret wife I’d been hiding all this time, do you think I’d tell you?” I have told Stellarwhile also opening up about whether he’d consider getting hitched in the future.

“It’s got to be someone pretty special and I suppose I’ve got to be in a space where I can also give them what they need… I don’t want anything. The only, you know, money worries I’ve got are, ‘Can I service my mortgage and live a life I want to?’

“Everything other than that, I think, is superfluous. I’m just trying to remind myself to enjoy the ride and not buy into things when they’re going well. And don’t buy into it completely when they aren’t.”

Armstrong also downplayed his recent Logies win for the coveted Graham Kennedy Award for Best New Talent.

“Nowhere on the Logie does it say that you’re actually good at your job. It’s for the most popular new talent. What that means is f***ing nothing, apart from a popular vote. I mean, it’s flattering … and I’m very smug to my friends about it – it’s how I finish every argument. But that’s it.”

Armstrong’s appearance at this year’s Logies made headlines for another reason, after he clapped back at a Twitter troll who accused him of “virtue signaling” for making an acknowledgment of country while he was on stage.

The Twitter user – who insisted it was time to “drop this nonsense” – copped a surprised reply from Armstrong, who quickly put him in his place: “Shut up bro,” he responded. “I’m a blackfulla and I am duty bound to respect the land I’m on.”

speaking to StellarArmstrong said it was a no-brainer for him to respond.

“To be honest with that stuff, I couldn’t give af**k what people think. I’m going to say what I think is right. I could never pretend to speak on behalf of all Indigenous people but I can talk about what I know to be right. I don’t always get it right… but I try not to ever be complicit.”

Armstrong batted away another rumor about himself in a recent interview with news.com.au, laughing off speculation that he could one day find love on TV on a show like TheBachelor.

“The more interested that people are in talking to me, the less I want to do in a public space,” he said with a laugh when asked about persistent bachelor rumours, adding that his “anxiety inducing” red carpet debut at the Logies was enough of a foray out of his comfort zone.

“I really didn’t enjoy the red carpet… going to events and stuff like that, it’s just not ever going to be me,” he said.

Truth about Tony’s OnlyFans

One wild rumor about Armstrong that turned out to be true: Yes, he did start an OnlyFans account last year (despite initially denying it was really him).

Armstrong was spotted in a verified account on the raunchy subscription-only platform.

At the time he denied was him, as news.com.au reported, but he’s since come clean that it was actually set up as a ploy to get fans to donate to The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, cooked up with the owners of lifestyle brand Skwosh Club, Jack Watts and Jack Turner.

“I’m actually still waiting to get paid from it,” he explained to news.com.au recently.

“I did it because I was sitting with a couple of mates, Jack Watts and Jack Turner, and they had a charity run of shorts, and we thought ‘wouldn’t it be funny if we did a troll thing and tricked people into donating money’.

“Once they got into the OnlyFans, they would realize a subscription was for this charity… It was just photos of me with cups of tea or with a book or something. We ended up getting quite a few subscriptions.”

Asked whether he had permission from the ABC to join the site for the three-week stint, he sheepishly responded that he “found out later that he was meant to.”

“I wouldn’t say I got in trouble… I had ‘a chat’,” he revealed.

Kevin Spacey ordered to pay $31m to House of Cards producers | kevin spacey

Kevin Spacey has lost his appeal to have a $31m (£25.5m) arbitration award to the producers of House of Cards overturned.

In November, the Hollywood actor was ordered to pay the sum to MCR following “explosive” allegations of sexual misconduct involving young crew members working on the production.

Spacey had filed to have the order overturned, but his request was denied by a US judge in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to documents obtained by the PA Media news agency.

Judge Mel Red Recana wrote that Spacey and his attorneys “fail to demonstrate that this is even a close case” and “do not demonstrate that the damages award was so utterly irrational that it amounts to an arbitrary remaking of the parties’ contracts”.

“We are pleased with the court’s ruling,” MRC’s attorney, Michael Kump, said after the ruling.

The original filings from MCR detailed how Spacey was removed from the hit Netflix show following allegations he was “systematically preying upon, sexually harassing, and groping young men that he had worked with throughout his career on film, television, and theater projects.”

The arbitrator concluded that Spacey had repeatedly breached contractual obligations to provide services “in a professional manner” that were “consistent with [MRC’s] reasonable directions, practices and policies” – including its anti-harassment policies.

The actor starred in House of Cards for five seasons, playing the calculating politician Frank Underwood, before being cut from the show after the allegations surfaced.

In the original ruling, the arbitrator also found that Spacey was not entitled to be paid for the remainder of his contract, as his dismissal had caused the show’s sixth season to be shortened and rewritten and cost MRC millions in lost revenue.

The latest development comes shortly after Spacey appeared in a UK court last month to “strenuously” deny further allegations of sexual assault charges dating back 17 years.

He denied five allegations relating to three men, now in their 30s and 40s, at the Old Bailey in London on 14 July. The alleged offenses are said to have taken place in London and Gloucestershire between 2005 and 2013, during which time Spacey was artistic director of the Old Vic theatre.

Mr Justice Wall set a trial of three to four weeks from 6 June next year, with a further hearing due to take place earlier in 2023.

Spacey is also due to face a civil case, to be heard in New York in October 2022, brought by the actor Anthony Rapp – Spacey’s first public accuser.
