“He would’ve been 12 next month… which I’m told is a long life for this breed.

“I always, always called him the ROCKSTAR. Because he was!

“He marched to the beat of his own drum, was beloved by the whole world, and boy did he have a good life,” the Greatest Showman actor continued.

“We will miss him but know he’s howling in heaven, ruling the roost and enjoying the all-you-can-eat buffet.

“RIP Dalí Rockstar Jackman. We love you!” the tribute ended.

He has previously called Dali “the Chairman of my welcome home committee”.

The Jackman family adopted Dali in 2010, before adopting another dog, a poodle-terrier named Allegra.

Dali and Allegra were often seen on Instagram going fo.r walks on the beach or around New York

‘So proud of Deb’

Dali and Allegra were there when Jackman’s wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 66, was named an Officer of the Order of Australia.

The X-Men actor shared a tribute for his wife, which included a photo of Furness smiling as she held their two dogs.

“So proud of Deb! Today she was named an Officer (AO) of the Order of Australia, ”his post from her began.

“For almost 30 years, I’ve firsthand witnessed her endless generosity and commitment to service.

“Today everyone else gets to understand and appreciate her incredible work. As for her service to the arts, the breadth and depth of her work is extraordinary.

“Also she is the greatest actress I have worked with… And, I’m not just saying that!”

Furness has spent years campaigning to change adoption laws, an issue that is close to her heart, and that has earned her a place on the Australia Day Honors List.

Jackman and Furness married in April 1996 after meeting on the set of the Australian TV drama Corelli in 1995.

They welcomed two children by adoption, Oscar, 21, and Ava, 16.

When speaking on The Morning Show In 2020, Furness raised to viewers’ attention that there were 45,000 children living in the out-of-home care system (as of November 2020).

“When you think about 45,000 kids, that would fill a football stadium,” Furness said.

“They’ve measured that physically, emotionally, and mentally, these kids do not develop and they do not thrive – that’s why we are so insistent on saying that they need permanency in their lives because every moment counts for these kids,” the actress told hosts Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur.

The Mummy’s Brendan Fraser has returned to films after long absence

When 1990s film star Brendan Fraser went viral on TikTok last year in an emotional interview about his long-awaited comeback to the big screen, social media fans the world over suddenly realized what they’d been missing.

Speaking to cosplayer Lindley Key as part of an online convention called Galaxy Con Live in August, Fraser shared some news.

”I’m going to be working with [Martin] Scorsese, [Robert] De Niro and Leo [DiCaprio] … I think I might be sick … a little anxious,” he says, patting his heart, referring to the film he’d been cast in, Killers of the Flower Moon.

When Key told Fraser about the huge support he had on the internet, he teared up and tipped his cowboy hat, saying, ”Shucks, ma’am”.

Immediately, it was very clear ”he was the sweetest of humans”, she said at the time.

The reaction was swift, with fans describing him as a ”rare breed in Hollywood”, a sweetheart, humble, that every one of his films was ”rewatchable” and that he’d been sorely missed.

”Brendan does not realize he’s well loved … the majority of us grew up with him. We are still here to grow further with you man. You just need to believe in yourself Mr Fraser,” wrote one long-time supporter.

Throughout the 1990s, he gave us a delightful mix of feel-good comedy fantasy through to dramatic film roles.

He’s been on a journey to the center of the Earth, hilariously played Tarzan – aka George – in the jungle, fought off scary ancient mummies, and thrilled the kids sitting next to Donald Duck and Bugs Bunny in the much-loved 2003 Looney Tunes flick .

He seemed to have the world at his feet, and then he disappeared for nearly two decades.

Now, his fans are calling him. Yes, it’s a ”Brenaissance”.

With multiple movie roles either in pre- or post-production, we’re now getting a first look at The Whaleand his appearance is worlds away from the handsome, nice-guy movie star we once knew.

Director Darren Aronofsky (black swan, The Wrestler), posted the first image of Fraser’s transformation.

Brendan Fraser will once again walk the red carpet

Ranked among the most prestigious international film festivals, and often a telling precursor for Oscars buzz, The Whale is top-listed in competition at this year’s 79th Venice International Film Festival.

Kicking off on August 31, a who’s who of Hollywood will rub shoulders on the red carpet, and view some of the 49 films on offer from 19 countries.

Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman and Joel Edgerton are expected to show up at the Palazzo Del Cinema, including Timothée Chalamet, Adam Driver, Olivia Wilde, Harry Styles, Penelope Cruz, Ana de Armas, Christoph Waltz and Mia Goth.

And… drum roll. Brendan Fraser and his co-star Sadie Sink (Stranger Things).

The Whale is based on Samuel D Hunter’s play and stars Fraser, who has to transform into a heavyweight, 272-kilogram reclusive English teacher called Charlie.

It’s his story of attempting to reconnect with his daughter Ellie, 17, played by Sink.

The two have not seen each other since he abandoned his family for his late gay lover.

”It’s gonna be like something you haven’t seen before,” Fraser told Unilad last year when asked about The Whale.

”That’s really all I can tell you.

”The wardrobe and costume was extensive, seamless, cumbersome.

”This is certainly far removed from anything I’ve ever done but not to be coy.

”I do know it’s going to make a lasting impression.”

Este George of the Jungle shot still makes people laugh, in a good way. Photo: AAP

He’s already made lasting impressions – good, and sad

The Whale marks Fraser’s first starring role since his 2013 action movie Breakoutbut it was his breakout performance as the lead character in 1997’s George of the Jungle where he got noticed.

After several uncredited roles, small parts in TV series, and several low-budget flicks including Encino Man in 1992, his Tarzan depiction was one of his first successful films at the box office, and grossed more than $174 million worldwide, according to IMDb.

Then enter Rick O’Connell, American adventurer and a former colonel of the French Foreign Legion, who first awakens mummies in 1999 and gets chased around the pyramids. There are wives and kids involved so it’s all good.

In 2001, Fraser reprized the role in The Mummy Returns and again in 2008 – The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. The cult trilogy was so popular that a roller coaster was built at Universal Studios based on the films in their Hollywood and Florida theme parks.

At the height of his popularity, he hosted Saturday night Livehad a recurring role in scrubs from 2002 to 2004, and voiced characters in simpsons and The Fairly Odd Parentsnot to mention his looney tunes lead role and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

In the midst of it all, his life took a sad turn.

His marriage to Afton Smith ended in 2007 (they share three sons together), his mother passed away, he did a few awkward car-crash interviews, including one with SBS’s Marc Fennell in 2008 when a kidnapping stunt went horribly wrong.

A longy 2018 cover story in GQ went some way to explain his absence away from the spotlight.

“By the time I did the third mummy picture in China, I was put together with tape and ice — just, like, really nerdy and fetishy about ice packs,” he said.

“Screw-cap ice packs and downhill-mountain-biking pads, ’cause they’re small and light and they can fit under your clothes. I was building an exoskeleton for myself daily.”

During a seven-year period, he underwent a laminectomy, a partial knee replacement, several other procedures on his back and had his vocal cords repaired.

He took small roles to cope with his injury list and in 2016 was cast in a recurring role in popular drama series The Affair.

He started doing interviews again, including a not-so-friendly viral appearance on AOL’s BUILD YouTube channel.

He became an internet meme for his “sad” demeanor but viewers didn’t know his mother Carol had passed away just a few days earlier.

“I buried my mom,” he told GQ. “I think I was in mourning, and I didn’t know what that meant.”

In 2018, he came forward with allegations of sexual assault against an HFPA [Hollywood Foreign Press Association] member that he says groped him in 2003.

Let’s just say 2021 was his Brenaissance, and his fans were thrilled after watching Key’s TikTok, including Amanda Charles.

”I’m getting the vibe he’s not aware HOW behind him we all actually are … like he’s up there with Keanu Reeves on ‘wholesome national treasure’ list.”

The Block: Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull leave show amid claims it wasn’t ‘on brand’

The Block’s first scandal of the season has finally aired, with influencer Elle Ferguson and her AFL star beau Joel Patfull bailing on the show without so much as a goodbye on Monday night’s episode.

It comes after weeks of headlines surrounding their shock exit, which host Scott Cam has slammed as “p*ss poor” and “unAustralian” in interviews ahead of the season.

Despite reports the couple left the competition to be with Patfull’s mother after a nasty fall, it appears the duo bowed out of the challenge because it wasn’t “on brand”, with Cam telling fellow competitors they’d complained that the toilet paper was “too scratchy”.

Ahead of the shock revelation, Patfull and Ferguson’s first room challenge copped some negative criticism from judges Shaynna Blaze, Neale Whitaker and Darren Palmer, who commented that it was “too Bondi” for the country setting.

“They have smashed the life out of this home… and that breaks my heart,” Blaze said of the room’s lack of character features.

Whitaker agreed: “If they stick with this look throughout the old part of the house and the modern part of the house, it’s going to get very stale and very samey, very quickly.”

He recommended the pair “amp up the heritage, and “have respect for the original bones” in the coming weeks.

But rather than take heed of the advice, the glamorous pair left without a word, leaving the house they’d been assigned in a state of disarray.

On hearing of their departure the next morning, Scotty was in disbelief.

“They just don’t feel like it’s … right for them to do The Block,” executive producer Julian Cress told him.

“Why would you leave after two days?” Cam marveled.

Breaking the news to the remaining contestants, he said: “Last night, if you might remember in the studio, I gave you guys an out … an opportunity, if you thought you couldn’t cut it on the show, you could leave if you wanted to, you could pull the pin.

“I obviously said that tongue in cheek because I didn’t think anyone would drop an opportunity like this, but I’ve just found out that Joel and Elle are on their way to the airport. They have left the show,” he explained to gasps from the cast.

“Why didn’t they even say goodbye?” asked Jenny from House 4.

“They didn’t say goodbye… They didn’t say thanks for having us… They just left,” Cam said, elaborating that they didn’t suggest they were leaving because of a family emergency.

“Well, everything’s fine, apparently, for some reason, The Block isn’t ‘on brand’ for them … And they also said that the toilet paper was too scratchy,” he told the shocked contestants who admitted they had all taken to “weeing in the backyard” amid the competition.

Meanwhile, Sarah-Jane, from winning House 1, declared she had predicted the couple weren’t Block material.

“I saw that coming… They didn’t make any effort to get to know us… They looked miserable the whole time… I heard that they were like ‘I can’t wear that, that doesn’t represent us’,” she told the others, adding that they seemed “sour” after coming fourth in the room reveal.

On hearing they were to be replaced imminently, she said: “I’m glad that someone’s getting the opportunity that’s going to appreciate it … Don’t bring them from Bondi.”

Parents-of-three Rachel and Ryan have now shacked up in House 2 instead of Ferguson and Patfull.

The Block Tree Change continues Tuesday night from 7.30pm on Channel 9

The Masked Singer Australia: Lisa Curry revealed as second celebrity

WARNING: Masked Singer spoilers below.

The second round of Masked Singer contestants performed on Monday’s episode, with another celeb unmasked at the end of the episode.

And this time, it was Australian swimming champion Lisa Curry, revealed to be the celeb under the caterpillar costume.

The Caterpillar had said in her clues package that she could be found worldwide, “from coast to jungle.” She was shown being knighted by a royal – while someone else in the shot did their ironing of her. Meanwhile in the corner of the screen, a counter ticked up to the number 15.

After she performed a distinctively Australian-accented rendition of Tones And I’s song cloudyday, the judges guessed Carrie Bickmore, Sally Pearson, Schapelle Corby (!) and Emily Seebohm. But the clues pointed to Curry: She can be found on the coast and in the jungle, thanks to her stint de ella on I’m A Celeb. She’s got an MBE (there’s the royal knighting) – and her birthday de ella is May 15. And with her ten medals, she’d fit as the “Commonwealth Games superstar” Ten have been teasing will feature in this season.

After her reveal, Hughesy dubbed the swimmer “an absolute icon in this country”, while Chrissie Swan said she was moved by Curry’s spirit, given her traumatic recent past (her daughter passed away in September 2020).

“You know what? I needed a bit of cheering up, so I just thought, ‘Why not do it?’ Because you only get these opportunities once and you never lose, you only learn,” Curry said.

Here’s who else performed on Monday’s episode – along with the best guesses about who exactly is under each mask:

Tiger

The Tiger said he had “links to lions” in his clues package, which showed him playing the theme tune to BMX Bandits on a piano alongside a framed photo of Chelsea Clinton. He was shown wearing a tutu and made a reference to stripping.

The Tiger had a baritone, growling voice for a powerhouse rendition of feeling good. Definitely Australian, and someone with a strong voice.

Chrissie had a “very strong vibe” she was watching Jamie Durie, while Mel B went for British soccer star Paul Gascoigne. Abbie Chatfield guessed Jett Kenny, and Hughesy… Tom Cruise.

I’m siding with Chrissie Swan for this one, given how strongly she felt it was former Manpower stripper turned Backyard Blitz host Durie under the mask. And the clues match up… Chelsea Clinton, you ask? How about this: Durie won gold at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show in 2008.

Snapdragon

Now for an easy one. The Snapdragon’s clues package included a sign declaring they “love Jim Carrey,” and showed them lifting weights labeled 100 and 1. There were references to being mysterious and not being seen as they are.

Then Snapdragon launched into a performance of Demi Lovato’s Sorry Not Sorry – and anyone who’s familiar with The Voice and Eurovision star Sheldon Riley will instantly recognize that voice. In fact, many fans already picked him from his brief appearance in the pre-season ads.

With Sheldon in mind, the clues about being hidden and mysterious make more sense: He often covers his face behind jeweled headpieces when he performs (could the Jim Carrey clue be a reference to The Mask?)

And those 1 and 100 weights? Sheldon’s Eurovision song Not The Same went to number 1 on the AIR 100% Independent Singles Chart.

Mel B guessed former boyfriend Peter Andre, Abbie Chatfield went with drag star Trixie Mattel, Chrissie pinned it on Courtney Act and Dave Hughes guessed … Renée Zellweger. He’s really just pulling Hollywood A-lister names out of a barrel at this point.

Popcorn

Popcorn “went from nothing to huge in the blink of an eye” and said “Wikipedia says his ancestors came from Mexico.” He said he’d want to be stuck on a desert island with “Kylie and Lady Gaga.”

Popcorn delivered an impressively falsetto-filled version of Scissor Sisters’ I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ – complete with a high note to finish.

Chrissie Swan guessed Rick Springfield, Mel B thought Troye Sivan and Abbie guessed Studio 10 host Tristan McManus. I’m hearing another Aussie singer – one who enjoyed overnight success with his debut single Black and Gold. That voice is SW Sam Sparro.

The clues make sense: Sam has duetted with Kylie in the past – and he famously kept Lady Gaga’s iconic meat dress in his fridge when his fashion designer friend made it.

Rooster

The Rooster’s clues package showed him wearing boxing gloves, in front of an Auscar championships poster, and reading a book on Australia’s greatest churches. He said family was important to him, and was shown cutting someone’s hair – in front of a background of Matrix-style binary codes.

His performance of Bruno Mars’ 24 Karat Magic suggested a strong voice – and also perhaps an older male. Some on social media noted that the clues could match Hugh Sheridan – but it really sounds nothing like him.

The guesses from the judges were wild: Keanu Reeves, David Guetta, Russell Brand and John Farnham. That last one, from Mel B, seems closest, but none of them have convinced me so far.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s Masked Singer got the season off to a cracking start, with one of the show’s best-kept secrets revealed when actor Ryan Moloney – aka Toadfish from neighbors – was unmasked after a surprisingly decent rendition of an Ed Sheeran hit.

Few guessed Moloney was inside the Knight costume, but viewers were more certain about other contestants who performed on Sunday, with fans of the show convinced that Shannon Noll, former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton and former Wiggle Emma Watkins are among those still left in the competition .

The Masked Singer continues 7:30pm Tuesday on Ten.

Fake engagement rings the new trend for brides

As weddings make a comeback post-Covid and cost-of-living pressures bite, couples are getting savvy about that all-important thing – the engagement ring.

Before the pandemic, many women set their sights on the idea of the perfect ring, typically a big rock with an expensive price tag.

However, as couples look to break social norms and rein in spending, they are seeking an alternative.

Fake rings are making a comeback not just for fashion purposes but also to symbolize the promise of marriage as more people propose with them.

Jewelery company Sterling Forever posted a reel to Instagram explaining why more men and women are now proposing with fake rings.

The video outlined how more couples were jumping on the trend to avoid mistakes such as sizing issues and the receiver not liking the ring, as returning or exchanging it can be costly and difficult.

The reel concluded with the idea that once engaged, couples could go out and buy the perfect ring together.

While it may seem controversial, particularly for some unsatisfied receivers who were proposed to with a fake engagement ring, there’s plenty of support for the practice.

“I think this (idea) is so much better but honestly the fake ring could be like a ring pop or even a paper ring with a love note hidden in it, much cheaper and super cute,” one commenter said in response to the post .

Another replied: “I’d rather have a ‘fake’ and then we can save the money for something more important,”

And a third responded: “Why buy me an expensive engagement ring and an expensive wedding ring? Y’all see them (petrol) prices and the price for bread, just give me one ring.”

Other viewers of the video came up with their own suggestions as to why women may prefer fake rings over the real deal, including for practicality, for not losing an expensive ring and to avoid feeling guilty after a proposal “accident”.

“I feel like people also do it in case they lose it at the proposal sites, lots of them being at beaches or hiking spots,” one Instagram user suggested.

While the trend may be more popular now, some commenters said their parents used a similar approach in the past for personal reasons.

“My dad got my mom a garnet ring. It’s her favorite de ella and her birthstone de ella, with ‘will you marry me’ and the date engraved. They went shopping for her ring de ella together and I think it’s pretty. I always wanted to inherit it,” one young woman commented.

“My dad proposed to my mum with a minnie mouse ring so she wouldn’t feel pressured and I think it’s the cutest thing,” said another.

But not everyone saw the convenient nature of the fake ring trend, with some saying it goes against the purpose of an engagement ring as a symbol of everlasting commitment.

“If she doesn’t like the ring, she isn’t the one,” one commenter said.

“That’s stupid, a real man should know what his wife likes and what kind of jewelery she wears,” posted another.

“There’s no such thing as a fake engagement ring, there is only a fake stone,” a third said.

But a fake engagement ring isn’t necessarily a sign of lesser commitment, as some proposers purchase a ‘promise ring’ or cheaper alternative, with the goal of buying a better one that meets their partner’s wishes later on. Other fake rings are homemade.

No matter the ring choice, couples who have already jumped on the buying a ring together trend said the experience is one they highly recommend.

“Choosing the engagement ring together is a whole amazing experience and shows a very high level of commitment, that’s what me and my fiance did,” one commenter said.

Another said: “My fiance and I shopped for my ring together and it was the best thing ever. We fell in love with (the) ring together.”

Bullet Train review – Brad Pitt goes second class in brainless action movie | Action and adventure films

There are plenty of big, dumb action movies that can deliver thrills without exactly taxing the brain. And then there are films that are so thunderously stupid they bypass guilty-pleasure status and end up as a danger to themselves and all around them. Bullet Train falls into the latter camp. It’s so imbecilic, you wouldn’t trust it to cross the road unsupervised, let alone negotiate Japan’s Shinkansen high-speed rail network.

The premise, adapted from Kōtarō Isaka’s 2010 novel, is simple: Brad Pitt plays a privately contracted operative, codenamed Ladybug, who is hired by unknown clients to execute various shady missions. These could involve assassinations, but since he’s re-entering the murky mercenary waters after a period of soul-searching and therapy, his first gig back from him is theoretically an easy one. He just has to steal a silver briefcase on a bullet train heading to Kyoto. But Ladybug is cursed with appalling luck. And it turns out that the whole train is packed with hired killers, extravagantly armed with guns, swords, grudges and a selection of toxins, all of whom seem intent on knifing each other in the face.

Key among the cast are a British duo with a near-fraternal bond: Tangerine (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry). Taylor-Johnson is a sharp-suited geezer who looks, like so much in this brash, hollow film, as though he could have been transplanted from Matthew Vaughn’s obnoxious Kingsman series. Henry, meanwhile, is lumbered with a thankless idiot-savant role. Lemon is obsessed with – I kid you not – the children’s book series Thomas the Tank Engine, and claims that it provides a blueprint by which to read a person’s core traits. Thus a Henry is essentially decent, but a Diesel is nefarious and slippery. Predictably, the cast of Bullet Train skews towards the Diesel end of the spectrum.

Also on board is a schoolgirl who goes by the name of Prince (Joey King), who may be the innocent bystander she claims to be. But as previous Japan-set action movies, notably Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Volume 1, have taught us, schoolgirls are rarely to be trusted. She’s the only female character of note – it comes to something when a disposable plastic water bottle gets more of a backstory than the other women in the film.

Monumentally dull-witted as it is, it’s not only the cloddish plotting that sends this picture to the dunce’s corner. Other equally lunkish movies are redeemed by their action sequences. And director David Leitch, the man behind high-octane stabathons such as Atomic Blonde, certainly knows his way around a fight sequence. But the film’s gimmick – the train setting – is also a problem. An inventive close-quarters battle on public transport can be a thing of real beauty – just look at the bus sequences in Nobody and Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for two recent examples. But if there the combat choreography is contained within the metal tube of a train carriage, it soon starts to get a little repetitive, no matter how many samurai swords and venomous snakes you throw into the mix.

But there’s a further issue: the tone. Bullet Train is infuriatingly pleased with itself. And ground zero for this implosion of self-satisfaction is Pitt. There’s a school of thought that argues that Pitt is the film’s saving grace. Certainly, he’s one of the most likeable elements. He plays his character of him like an affable golden retriever that has swallowed a self-help manual, sporadically coughing up a semi-masticated personal growth tip. But he’s also, in many ways, guilty for this month. The Pitt celebrity is the freight that gave the project its momentum in the first place; his involvement of him is presumably the reason that nobody demanded a rewrite, or at the very least a tighter edit, to slam on the emergency brakes and avert the inevitable disaster.

The First Masked Singer Australia Celeb Has Been Unveiled

Knight has just unveiled himself on The Masked Singer Australia and it was Ryan Moloney. Toadfish Rebecca is BACK, baby.

The performance was rogue, it was bold and in all honesty I have no idea how it reeked of Toadie. my neighbors lore is not up to scratch, evidently.

The judges were equally as bamboozled. chrissie swan was convinced it was Nick Cummins while Dave Hughes hedged his bets on David Hasselhoff. Maybe he just felt a connection because they share the same first name, per chance.

Mel B thought it was Brendan Fevola and Abbie Chatfield wanted it to be Shannon Noll so bad.

But no, it was Mr. Toadfish. The Masked Singer Australiayou truly had me on the edge of my seat.

In case you were playing along at home, the clues that would’ve given it away include:

clue 1: I am the Knight, the closest that Australia has to true royalty.

clue 2: I am a Knight but I prefer the evening.

clue 3: To get where I am I had to fight my way through, travel to true respect.

clue 4: This is my trusty steed, far happier to see me now than in the past. I like it more than horseless carriages.

clue 5: Easy there lightning, I have other plans.

Clues 6: I wouldn’t say I was unforgettable but I am more often forgotten than not.

Clues 7: Still, the good people of Switzerland almost sent me flowers, golden ones, but I prefer deep purple.

Intriguing, to say the least.

You can catch up on The Masked Singer Australia at 10Play.

Thousands of people around the globe now play this game each day, and fans have even created alternatives to wordle inspired by the original format. Why are there two different wordle answers some days?

The whole point of wordle is that everyone’s solving the same puzzle, with the same answer, no matter where you are in the world. However, occasionally the puzzle game will accept two different correct solutions on the same day. This aberration is due to changes the New York Times began making after it acquired wordle earlier this year, excising words form Wardle’s original list that the team considers obscure or potentially offensive.

To make sure you’re always getting the same puzzle as everyone else, refresh your browser before you play — don’t worry, the site will keep your streak.

The Queen’s health fears | news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site

There are fresh fears for the Queen’s health after she was forced to cancel an annual event in the royal calendar.

Her Majesty, 96, spends her summers at Balmoral in Scotland and traditionally holds a welcome ceremony outside the castle in Aberdeenshire.

But the event was on Sunday canceled and replaced with a smaller gathering, which saw her inspect troops with no TV cameras present.

It is the first time the Queen has skipped the event, with the exception of during the Covid pandemic.

“The traditional welcome to Balmoral is normally cemented in the Queen’s calendar and something Her Majesty really enjoys, being able to greet locals who travel to see her,” a source told the Daily Mirror.

“It’s a bitter disappointment the ceremony will not take place in its traditional form.”

Another insider grimly warned the Queen’s absence was “very much a sign of things to come”.

Buckingham Palace said the Queen’s schedule was being adjusted for her comfort.

At some recent royal engagements, Her Majesty has been seen using a cane to help her get around.

She usually stays at Balmoral until October, but it is understood that she will make a brief return to London – either at Buckingham Palace or at Windsor – on September 6 when Boris Johnson hands in his resignation as Prime Minister of the UK.

Her Majesty will then welcome the winner of the Conservative Party’s leadership contest, which will be either Foreign Secretary Liz Truss or former Chancellor Rishi Sunak.

She is then expected to return to Scotland.

Queen was forced to pull out of Royal Ascot – one of her favorite events in the royal calendar, earlier this year.

She had attended every meet since ascending to the throne in 1952.

The monarch was replaced by Prince Charles, Camilla and Peter Phillips.

Her Majesty was also absent from the Epsom Derby and a service at St Pauls’s Cathedral during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations, but appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony for a fly-past.

Before that, she attended the Chelsea Flower Show with the help of a mobility scooter.

The Queen’s health issues appeared to start last year, when she was forced to miss the Remembrance Day service with a sprained back.

She later came down with Covid, but continued to hold meetings via videolink.
