Ben Affleck lists his Pacific Palisades mansion for $30M…one month after marrying Jennifer Lopez

Ben Affleck has put his Pacific Palisades mansion on the market for $30 million after rumors to have purchased a sprawling home in Beverly Hills with his wife Jennifer Lopez.

He first snapped up the stunning property, complete with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a gym, screening room and spa, for $19.2 million back in 2018.

At the time, he bought the plush home in a bid to be near his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, with whom he remains amicable since their 2015 split, and the three children they share, daughters Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13 and ten- year-old son Samuel.

At the time, Realtor.com described the house as ‘an entertainer’s dream’, with the full listing for the home stating it has a spacious living room with fireplace, formal dining room with butler’s pantry, study with bar and more.

Additionally, it is equipped with a screening room, gym, family room with full bar, temperature controlled walk-in wine cellar and maid’s room.

The decision to list his home comes a month after the 49-year-old Batman star tied the knot with his new wife, 53, during an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas.

While he and J-LO have yet to confirm that they have purchased a property together, moving trucks were recently spotted outside each of their respective homes.

Lopez and Affleck’s rumored new abode was most recently owned by Australian billionaire James Packer, who’s the former fiancé of Mariah Carey. Other previous residents include DeVito and his ex-wife, Matilda alum Rhea Perlman.

DeVito and Perlman sold the seven-bedroom home in 2015 for $28 million to developers Stuart and Stephanie Liner. The Liners then made numerous upgrades to the estate and listed it for $85 million. Packer then bought the property for around $60 million in 2018.

It’s unclear what Lopez and Affleck paid for the house, and there’s a shroud of mystery surrounding the alleged deal, since the house was not even listed for sale when they reportedly bought it.

In fact, real estate experts told TMZ that it hadn’t even been shown off-market, with the exception, potentially, being to Lopez and Affleck.

The house sprawls across 29,000-square-feet, which would allow ample space for the couple’s blended brood of five children.

The Jenny from the Block songstress shares 14-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while the Good Will Hunting star is the father to daughters Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13 and son Samuel, 10, with ex- wife Jennifer Garner.

The massive estate is also said to have many luxury amenities and perks, including an at-home movie theater, a hair salon, a gym, an entertainment room, a wine cellar, a sprawling pool, and even multiple guest houses.

New documents from the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard trial have been unsealed – and things have only got uglier | Arwa Mahdawi

Hear that nervous click-click? It’s the sound of celebrities quietly removing their likes from the victorious Instagram statement Johnny Depp posted after winning his libel case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, earlier this year. Approximately a gazillion words have been written about the case, so I’m sure I don’t need to recap it. In brief, though, Depp sued Heard for a 2018 op-ed piece in which she said she was a victim of domestic violence but she did not explicitly name him as the culprit. The televised trial was a sickeningly sordid spectacle – one lawyer described it as the “litigation equivalent of Squid Game. Heard endured merciless mocking and walked away with her reputation for her in tatters, while Hollywood largely rallied around Depp.

Now, however, it seems that attitudes toward Depp might be souring. Twitter detectives have noticed that more than a dozen celebrities appear to have “unliked” the actor’s Instagram post over the past two months. That list includes Bella Hadid, Halle Bailey, Amanda Knox(!) and a bunch of other people I’ve never heard of but are apparently very famous.

What could be behind this Great Dislike? Probably the fact that more than 6,000 pages of court documents were recently unsealed, providing a lot of unpleasant new information about Depp. Funnily enough, Depp fans were the ones responsible for thrusting this information into the public eye – they crowdfunded the fees required to get hold of the unsealed documents, which contain allegations that lawyers for Depp and Heard managed to keep out of the trial itself. The idea was to dig up dirt on Heard, but their efforts seem to have backfired: the documents are packed with nasty nuggets of information about Depp and illuminate the extent to which his legal team weaponized misogyny throughout the trial.

One of the nastiest bits of information in the documents might be the claim that Depp’s legal team tried to submit “nude pictures” of Heard into evidence and attempted to bring up her “brief stint as an exotic dancer”. It’s not clear what nude pictures they were referring to, and these were ultimately not relied on in the trial. But, in 2014, Heard’s iCloud account was hacked and hundreds of naked photos of her were released online, causing her understandable distress. If Depp did try to have these photos trotted out in a televised trial, it looks a lot like revenge porn – pure nastiness designed to humiliate Heard. It’s also a horrible reminder that if a woman doesn’t lead a perfectly chaste life, the world will find a way to cast her as a “slut” who is responsible for anything that happens to her.

It has been reported that It has also been reported that in the unsealed documents were: text messages from Depp’s then assistant about the time the actor allegedly “kicked” Heard on a flight; Depp’s legal team’s cynical attempt to implicate Heard in the death of a friend who died in a car accident; the fact that Heard willingly walked away from “tens of millions of dollars” she was entitled to in her divorce proceedings with Depp; a statement from Depp saying Heard had never caused him physical or mental injury; disturbing text messages between Depp and the musician Marilyn Manson, who has been accused of abuse by more than a dozen women, all of which he denies; claims that photos and audio tapes submitted by Depp had been digitally manipulated and edited.

While none of this makes Depp look good, it is important to note that it’s not as if he looked like a boy scout in the first place. This is a guy who lost a libel case against the Sun in 2020 after the newspaper described him as a “wife beater”. This is a guy who joked with a friend about how they ought to murder Heard. “Let’s drown her before we burn her!!!” he wrote. “I will fuck her de ella burnt corpse afterwards to make sure she’s dead.” Depp has a well-documented history of toxic behavior and yet, throughout the trial, there was a very long line of people ready to dismiss his bad behavior from him while jumping on any excuse to paint Heard in a negative light. Will the information in the court documents significantly change people’s minds about Depp and Heard? Beyond some celebrities distancing themselves from Depp, I doubt it. If the trial showed us anything, it’s that misogyny is more alluring to many people than facts.

The Sandman: Netflix’s glossy adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s beloved story

In a story filled with magic and fantastical elements, it’s only fitting that the streaming adaptation of The Sandman is something of a miracle.

Attempts to mount The Sandman, based on Neil Gaiman’s immensely beloved comic books, has been ongoing since the early 1990s. It went through so many rounds of development, it was starting to become like Lucy and the football.

It’s safe to assume then that for The Sandman devotees, this Netflix miniseries is like a gift from the gods, or in the series’ parlance, the Endless, the immortal beings which personify concepts such as dreams, death and destiny.

But what if you’re not a mega-fan? What if you haven’t spent the past 30 years waiting for your screen dreams to be realized? Will The Sandman offer the same intoxicating allure?

Yes and no. The series is definitely high fantasy, which means its complex world can be dense and a little inaccessible at times. Of course, if you’re well-versed in the genre – and fantasy is the de jour in pop culture – then it shouldn’t prove too onerous.

Still, newcomers may struggle for the first few episodes as they wrap their heads around The Sandman‘s deep lore. And the pacing of the show struggles in the early half of the series as you bed yourself into its demanding narrative.

But if you stick it out until at least episode five, the stylish and visually arresting series really pays dividends.

For the uninitiated, The Sandman centers on Dream/Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), an Endless who rules over the Dreaming as well as humanity’s sleeping selves. When Dream is kidnapped by an early 20th century occultist (Charles Dance), he spends one hundred years in captivity.

When he is finally freed, he finds his realm in disarray and various threats on the loose. Dream must journey across realms, encountering a raft of characters who help and hinder his quest to restore order.

The Sandman is structured as episodic television, which means there are highs and not-so-highs depending on the focus. You also get a murderer’s row of guest stars who pop in, such as Gwendoline Christie’s (game of Thrones) arch Lucifer Morningstar or Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) as the wily Johanna Constantine.

While tonally consistent, each episode can vary wildly. A standout is episode six, co-starring Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place) as Death, Dream’s sister. She and Dream venture through a sequence of Death meeting various people at their life’s end and it’s a beautiful and poignant 20 minutes of storytelling.

Another episode features David Thewlis (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) as the pained man John Dee, who uses Dream’s enchanted ruby to expose people’s darkest wants while Jenna Coleman’s chapter is steeped in the philosophies of regret.

That’s The Sandman‘s strength, the way it imaginatively weaponises its wider story to explore smaller stories about love, time, loneliness, friendship and the shadows that lurk where we dare not look.

Not every episode hits you in the same way just like not every emotion has the same effect. What felt like a cold exercise one moment can envelope you whole the next.

And it’s all packaged up in a glossy, spellbinding series which enthrals more than it distances.

The Sandman is streaming now on Netflix

Thong Has Officially Been Revealed On The Masked Singer Australia

The Masked Singer Australia has unveiled the face behind maybe my favorite costume of all time: thong. And Thong was in fact bonafide Aussie legend Pia Miranda all along. Yes, the rhyme was intentional.

Yes, current Josie Alibrandi of Looking for Alibrandi fame. Nineties and noughties Aussie kids just let out a collective gasp.

And look, Miranda may not have won The Masked Singer Australia but she did actually win Australian Survivor: Champions v Contenders. There is a bona fide Australian screen icon on our hands here.

How can you not love that little Thong face? I’m dazzled by the smile.

The judge’s guesses for this one were, in a word, rogue.

Hughesy insisted Thong was rapper Iggy Azalea, despite there being no rapping. In fact, Thong performed P!nk’s song ‘So What’. Not exactly an Azalea tune.

Chrissie Swan initially guessed Carly Rae Jepsenbut then switched to Bindy Irwin at the last second. Both guesses were wrong so she shouldn’t feel too bad.

Mel B went for RubyRose whereas Abbie Chatfield guessed Fisher Island.

In maybe the tensest battle since the Australian Federal Election, Thong faced down against Blowfly in the battle. I am only slightly devastated it wasn’t to Sisqo’s ‘Thong Song’, but perhaps that would’ve been an unfair advantage.

The clues shrouding Thong’s real identity were:

clue 1: I’m Thong, and I’m elastic like rubber!

clue 2: Nobody notices Thongs, that’s fine by me! It worked in my favor big time!

clue 3: That looks tender.

clue 4: My childhood dreams faded, but art can imitate life.

clue 5: I love this car! It’s ageless and doesn’t need to spend much time in the garage.

Clues 6: I’m a cleanskin now, but I wasn’t always.

Clues 7: I’m Thong, and I will be champion again!

Honestly, I think the clues confuse me more.

If you’re desperate for more Thong content, you can catch up on The Masked Singer Australia on 10Play.

Tracy Grimshaw dramatically stops interview with Olivia Newton John’s grieving niece

Tracy Grimshaw was forced to abruptly end an interview with Olivia Newton-John’s niece after admitting she’d pushed her grieving relative ‘too much’.

The iconic Grease star died peacefully at the age of 73 at her home in southern California on Monday, surrounded by her family and friends.

Tottie Goldsmith, 59, revealed her aunt Olivia’s health had deteriorated in the days leading up to her death after decades of fighting breast cancer and was ‘really skinny and unwell’ in the days before her passing.

The former Neighbors actress broke down when asked what Olivia was ‘most proud of’ after more than eight minutes of intense grilling from Grimshaw.

‘Hang in there, are you OK,’ Grimshaw said after Goldsmith burst into tears.

Goldsmith replied that Newton-John was proud of her 36-year-old daughter Chloe Lattanzi.

‘She loved her girl so much, and her husband, and all of us. And the hospital, the work she did, but Chloe, she loved her girl so much.

‘Chloe is doing it really tough, but she is amazing. I’ve been in touch with her a lot, and she is incredible.’

Grimshaw replied: ‘I’m going to let you go because I think I probably pushed this too much with you.’

However, the A Current Affair host threw in one last question, asking if the family would accept Victorian Premier Dan Andrews’ offer for a state funeral.

‘We will on behalf of the family, but I think Australia needs it, she’s so loved. I think our country needs it, so we are going to accept it, but I won’t cry at that. I’m so sorry, it’s just happened today’ Tottie said as she broke down again.

‘Darling, you can cry. I won’t let you cry anymore, but it’s good to see you, and it’s a terrible day,’ Grimshaw finished the segment.

Earlier in the interview, Tottie revealed Olivia’s final days when the legendary singer’s health had taken a turn for the worse.

‘It’s not a shock, we’ve known how sick she’s been, especially in the last five days,’ she told host Tracy Grimshaw of her passing.

Tottie then went on to reveal her heart-wrenching final moments with Olivia, continuing: ‘I couldn’t get to America in time and I wanted to say goodbye, so I asked [her husband John] if he could hold the phone up to her ear… But he got me on FaceTime so I managed to see her.’

‘I told her all the things I needed to say,’ Tottie continued. ‘She was leaving us… but I feel like she got it.’

Tottie went on to reflect on Olivia’s decades-long battle with cancer.

‘There was one day at the Olivia Newtown John Center and she was really skinny and unwell and I said to her, “Are you afraid of dying”, and she said, “Plonker, I’m not afraid. I’ve done more in my life that I could have ever imagined.”‘

‘She’s struggled with a lot of pain and it’s been a tough road,’ Tottie added.

‘It wasn’t just the cancer that got her. It was other complications and being in a hospital with a very susceptible immune system.’

Breaking down: Tottie then went on to reveal her heart-wrenching final moments with Olivia, which took place over Facetime as she was unable to fly to the US in time to be at her bedside

Tottie is best known for her turn in the pop group, Chantoozies, who had hits with their songs Witch Queen, He’s Gonna Step On You Again, Wanna Be Up, and Love the One You’re With in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Her father Brian Goldsmith, a renowned night club owner and restaurateur in Melbourne, died in 2020. Her mother is Olivia’s sister, Rona.

Tottie appeared with her aunt at G’day USA in LA in 2020 – where Olivia candidly spoke about beating her cancer.

‘Gosh, life is a gift and I’ve had an amazing life and I intend to keep going with it and I want to help other people with cancer of course,’ she told DailyMail.com in the January 2020 interview.

‘I have my wellness center in Melbourne and I want to see an end to cancer in my lifetime so other people don’t have to suffer.’

Olivia was first diagnosed with the disease in 1992 but announced she had overcome the cancer in 2013, the year after her Wellness Center first opened, but in May 2017, she was told cancer had metastasized and spread to her bones.

Reflecting on her fight to beat the condition, she admitted: ‘I don’t see it as a battle. I don’t think about it a lot, to be honest.

‘Denial is a really good thing and I’m getting stronger and better all the time! I am doing well!…I am feeling wonderful.’

She also admitted that she had hope for her future, adding: ‘I’m winning over and living with it well and that’s how I see it.’

Newton-John also reflected on her delight at still being remembered for Grease more than four decades after its release.

She confessed: ‘We did something very special together. That movie is still loved.’

She recalled how caring co-star John Travolta was during the filming of the musical romantic film.

Asked about her favorite memory on set, she relied: ‘His kindness to me. When there was one scene in the movie – it was my close up, when Rizzo pulls me forward in the bonfire scene – and in the middle of my take, he stopped it and came over to me and whispered in my ear: “I think you can do better.”

‘So that’s really generous. For an actor to do that for another actor. I wasn’t as experienced as him. He was very nurturing and sweet.’

During that same event, lifelong friend Travolta praised her positive outlook on life, despite her health worries.

He said: ‘Olivia is a survivor and she’s smart and she’s got a lot of life in her and I think she looks at it from the glass half full always and that’s her beautiful, natural approach towards life and I think we all need to do that.’

“This is 100% true! And good things come to those who wait as well!” another added.

After striking a romance in secret, the pair tried and failed to continue on the experiment as a couple.

Meanwhile, Daniel’s close friend Jackson announced his split from Olivia hours earlier on Monday.

The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post, stating they plan to stay friends and have nothing but “respect for one another.”

UK Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley slammed for ‘creepy’ Olivia Newton-John comment after her death

A UK breakfast TV host has been slammed by viewers after making “creepy” comments about singer Olivia Newton-John just hours after news of her death broke.

Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley paid tribute to the 73-year-old Grease star but copped a lashing from Brits over his choice of anecdote.

Madeley referenced an iconic 1970s modeling picture of Newton-John that had been shared in countless tributes following her death, including by her Grease co-star John Travolta.

“I wish I’d met her, I wish I’d interviewed her. It never happened, I always regretted it actually as years went by,” Madeley said.

“That publicity picture… the one of her in the denim shirt. It was a very famous poster of her by her in the 1970s. ”

And he went on to confess many of his former colleagues had a schoolboy crush on the star.

“That poster was on the wall of a radio station I used to work in back in the 70s and I’m not exaggerating, it basically stopped traffic in the corridor,” he said.

“It was up there for months! The guys would just stop and look at it.”

Insulting, inappropriate and very, very creepy.

Viewers were less than impressed by his comments, which came as many Brits learned the news of Newton-John’s death, following a cancer battle, aged 73.

“Richard Madeley’s weird angle on the loss of Olivia Newton-John today on (Good Morning Britain) was uncomfortable to watch,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Just kept on the line of how attractive she was & if she acknowledged how beautiful she was & how her colleagues would stare at her poster.”

One viewer described the comments as: “Insulting, inappropriate and very, very creepy.”

Some even called for Madeley to lose his job over the remarks.

“This creep needs to be fired,” one furious viewer wrote.

TV veteran Madeley, who is known for his cringeworthy live TV moments, is widely thought to have been the inspiration for comedian Steve Coogan’s show Alan Partridge.

Coogan has previously admitted Partridge’s character is similar to the host.

Last week, Madeley was in viewers’ crosshairs again for an awkward comment about England Lionesses soccer player Chloe Kelly.

While discussing her team’s Euro 2022 win, Madeley got a little too familiar with the player, referring to her as “Coco”, admitting he uses the same nickname for his daughter, who is also named Chloe.

‘I survived on Diet Coke, cigarettes and coffee, and by the end of it, I was like, “I need to eat a vegetable,”‘ she told Tatler magazine at the time.

By the time she got around to filming the Netflix miniseries, Anya admitted she was in bed by 8pm every night, yet struggled with the fact she wanted to be out socializing and partying like her friends in their 20s.

‘It’s: go home, have a bath, get up for work. I sound mental, but that’s what’s working for me right now,’ she added.

Anya’s latest sighting was just a week after she was seen for the first time on the set of George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road prequel, Furiosa.

Dressed as the titular character, Furiosa, the American star looked worlds away from her usually polished, stylish self while filming in front of a green screen in Sydney’s South on Wednesday, August 3.

Swapping her trademark platinum locks for a messy, matted brown hair-do and tatty clothing, the smiling star was unrecognizable on set as she got stuck in to her latest role.

Her costume consisted of a dirt-stained brown T-shirt which had one sleeve missing and loose trousers. She also wore a green glove, which will be used in post-production to create her character Furiosa’s prosthetic arm.

Anya has enjoyed a stratospheric rise to fame in recent years thanks to her role in Netflix drama The Queens Gambit, as well as films Emma and The Northman, in which she stars alongside Alexander Skarsgård and Nicole Kidman.

Anya arrived in Sydney in May ahead of filming Furiosa, accompanied by her partner Malcolm McRae, who she secretly married in June.

Mad Max: Furiosa is scheduled for release in 2024.

Melbourne radio host shares hateful letter she received from angry listener: ‘It’s the snail-mailers too!’

Australian radio host Dee Dee Dunleavy was left floored after receiving a hateful letter in the mail about her afternoon show.

Melbourne 3AW Afternoons host Dunleavy shared a photo of the cruel letter on Twitterwhich had been sent a week earlier about a now-finished radio competition.

The competition involved listeners calling in with a secret “codeword” or “password” which was said on-air in order to win cash prizes.

And one particularly disgruntled listener seemed to think Dunleavy didn’t share the password enough times.

“Silly DD,” the expletive-ridden letter began. “What a stupid b—making people wait 2 ½ hours for the ‘password’ for the competition.”

“I had phone calls to make, work to do. You’re a bloody idiot. An ugly woman.”

The letter appeared to have been posted on the 28th of July, when the competition was still running.

But it appears it only made its way to Dunleavy this week, leaving her perplexed and offended.

“Seems it’s not just the ‘every child wins a prize’ generation that can’t hack not being a winner… it’s the snail-mailers too!” Dunleavy wrote, sharing the letter to Twitter.

Dunleavy’s followers were shocked by the hate mail and shared outraged comments on the social media site.

“Imagine being mad about the timing of something and then complaining via snail mail,” one follower wrote.

“And posting it two weeks after the competition finished,” Dunleavy replied.

“But she had time to write a letter, and post it!” another incredulous follower said.

One follower even mused about the type of radio listener who would feel compelled to write such a letter.

“I’m thinking a pensioner (someone young wouldn’t write a letter, they would get on social media) and I’m being potentially controversial here but judging by the hand-writing – female,” he said.

Dunleavy responded: “Oooh. I was getting a male vibe.”

It’s not the first time the veteran journalist has been the victim of trolling, both online and via snail mail.

Dunleavy has been open about hateful messages she gets from commenters in the past.

In 2013, she wrote a message on Twitter about why trolls target people online.

“A troll is someone who wants you to feel, for a few seconds, as miserable as they do their entire existence,” she wrote.

UNO lovers divided after company introduces new ‘skip’ rule to classic card game

It’s the cheeky new rule causing outrage among fans of the classic card game UNO.

According to the gaming company’s website, players can now use a Skip card to avoid a Draw 2 — as long as they are the same color — and pass the buck to the next player.

“Skipping never felt so good,” UNO’s official Twitter account says.

“If someone plays a Draw 2 on you and you have a Skip card of the SAME COLOR in your hand, you can play it and ‘bounce’ the penalty to the next player!”

And get this, if the next player has a Skip card of any colour, they can play it and kick the penalty further down the line.

“The next player must draw the two cards, unless they have a Skip card (of any colour) they can play, in which case they pass the penalty to the next player and so on until no one has a Skip card and must draw two cards,” the company says.

The change, flagged on UNO’s Twitter account in 2020, has left many fans aghast.

“Absolutely not,” one player said. “I’ve lost enough friendships over fighting this exact rule.

“I can’t find this in the rule book — surely this is fake!”

Another simply wrote: “Nah no.”

And another said: “I’m starting to believe y’all don’t know how to play your own game.”

It comes after UNO confirmed that Wild Draw 4 and Draw 2 cards could not be stacked.

It meant that if a player put down a Wild Draw 4, the next player must simply draw four cards and skip their turn.

Another Wild Draw 4 cannot be stacked on top and passed to the next player down the line.

UNO said this had been the rule all along but it caused a storm among players who had always used the strategy — and mostly still do.

In 2019, UNO released a new version of the card game to add extra spice.

UNO Flip has gained its fair share of core fans, with many considering it more competitive.

The entire deck is double-sided, with a “light side” resembling the original game and a “dark side” where penalties are far tougher.

If you score a Flip card, you gain the power of revealing a new set of numbers and colors on the other side.

But there is one rule that never changes — whatever you do, don’t forget to shout “UNO” when you’re down to your last card.
