Google Assistant Is Still Missing on New Wear OS 3 Watches

Samsung released the Galaxy Watch 4 last year as the first watch with Wear OS 3, the latest version of Google’s wearable software platform. It finally received Google Assistant a few months ago, but now the same problem has happened with the second Wear OS 3 watch.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 shipped without the ability to use Google Assistant, even though it used the same Wear OS software experience included Assistant (and Google Now before that) on every other watch model. Samsung and Google never provided a clear answer on why it was initially missing — Samsung probably preferred you use its own Bixby voice assistant — but an update in May added the ability to use Assistant.

Nearly a year after the Galaxy Watch 4 was released, we now have our second watch running Wear OS 3, the Montblanc Summit 3. However, it’s also missing Google Assistant. Michael Fisher confirmed the problem in a product review for the Summit 3, and there’s not even an alternative virtual assistant, which the Galaxy Watch does offer.

Google provided the below statement to Fisher and How-To Geek about the missing Google Assistant feature:

Our priority with Wear OS is to deliver a high performing platform for our partners and users, and we are taking the time to ensure our apps and services deliver a quality experience. We have nothing more to share at this time.

Google and Samsung were co-developing Wear OS 3 for an extended period before it arrived on the Galaxy Watch 4, and Google has had almost a full year to finish working on a version for other watch makers to use. That makes the missing Assistant a bizarre omission, especially when the Montblanc Summit 3 is a luxury smartwatch that costs $1,290.

Google will release its own Pixel Watch with Wear OS later this year, which is expected to include Google Assistant.

Mike Tyson lost pet tiger when he tried to eat neighbor’s dog, boxing news

Mike Tyson lost his famous pet tiger after the white Bengal tried to eat his neighbours’ dog.

The boxing legend was convinced into buying the wild cat after coming out of prison in 1995 following a three-year stretch.

Tyson is believed to have had three tigers in all, costing him over $US80,000 each at the time.

But, according to his former boxing manager Shelly Finkel, he was forced to give them up after one fateful walk.

Finkel, who SunSport spoke with in New York, recalled: “His house was between two houses in Vegas.

“And on the right side, facing the street was a famous Vegas performer. And on the left side was a businessman who had some dogs.

“Mike decided to walk one of his Bengal tigers, he’s walking the tiger, and the tiger saw the dog and scales the wall to go and eat the dog.

“The man is looking out his window and sees a tiger coming over the wall to try and eat his dog and Mike is pulling him down.

“He gets him off the fence and that night Mike calls me and says, ‘Shelly, the ASPCA is here, I’m not allowed to keep cats in captivity, how do you think they found out?’

“I said, ‘How do you think they found out? Your neighbor sees him coming over the wall to eat his dog. How do you think they found out.’

“That to me was my favorite story with Mike.”

Finkel managed Tyson right up until his retirement in 2005.

But their history dates back to when Iron Mike was a teenage amateur sensation.

And they first worked together in 1988 when Finkel brokered a closed-circuit pay-per-view deal for Tyson’s win over Michael Spinks.

But following the heavyweight’s infamous 1997 disqualification for biting Evander Holyfield’s ear, Finkel became his full-time manager.

He said: “It was one of the greatest trips of my life. The adventures with Mike Tyson were phenomenal.”

Finkel was in touch with Tyson as recently as two years ago, when the boxing icon made a shock comeback.

Tyson, now 56, drew over eight exhibition rounds with Roy Jones, 53, and talk of a trilogy with Holyfield emerged.

But following Holyfield’s painful beating against former UFC champion Vitor Belfort, 45, the plug was rightfully pulled.

Hasan Has “Basically Given Up My Intellectual Property Completely”

The popular streamer HasanAbi recently clarified his position on fan channels and websites, even those which monetize his work. According to the content creator, HasanAbi has “basically given up my intellectual property completely.”

While some streamers are known for protecting their work by issuing takedown requests, HasanAbi has always been rather lenient with his followers, but the content creator has mostly been silent about what his fans are allowed to create or distribute, at least until now. HasanAbi is apparently fine with people using his intellectual property for just about any purpose, the streamer’s only request being that in cases where his content is monetized, a backlink is expected as a courtesy.

“I fucking ride for all of my fan channels,” HasanAbi said in a stream. “YouTube took down a bunch of the fan channels including Daily Dose of HasanAbi and stopped monetizing them.” The content creator went on to say that “I talked to my YouTube account manager and I was like ‘no, I want them to be able to keep monetizing.’ I want them to do whatever the fuck they want.” HasanAbi added that “I don’t mind their existence. I encourage it. I have basically given up my intellectual property completely.”

HasanAbi considers that fan channels and websites are in fact beneficial to his brand because they showcase quite a bit of his content. He just wants followers to include a backlink to his Twitch page and his accounts of him on social media like Twitter and Instagram, particularly in cases where money is involved. The influencer fully endorses the YouTube channels Daily Dose of HasanAbi and HasanAbi Productions, both of which credit him as a content creator.

HasanAbi has been in the news recently for his criticism of the latest trend on Twitch, gambling streams. Stake has been at the center of this ongoing controversy ever since xQc started handing out promotional codes to the online casino. “A lot of these websites, Stake and all of them, if they have a code, if you are offering a code, that means that Stake is tracking all of your losses and you are getting a percentage of your fanbase’s losses,” Hasan previously explained. “That is quite literally the truth. That is how fucking bad it is. They let you in on it. They let you in on the losses of your fucking fanbase.”

Big Bash battle looms for Cricket Australia over Chris Lynn’s UAE T20 move | Big Bash League

Cricket Australia could block Chris Lynn’s plans to play in this summer’s UAE T20 competition in a bid to protect the integrity of its Big Bash League.

Big-hitting Lynn was named on Monday night as one of several high-profile overseas stars to feature in the UAE tournament, which will directly clash with the Big Bash.

A number of BBL draft nominees were also named, meaning they will only play in the first half of the Australian competition before flying out in early January for the UAE, where the teams are now owned by cashed-up Indian Premier League franchises.

Australian officials have long expected that it would be the case with draft players and planned around it, with the exodus likely to come at the same time Test stars return to the BBL. But it is the inclusion of Lynn in the UAE’s list that does not sit comfortably with CA.

Under ICC rules, every player competing in an overseas T20 franchise league requires a no objection certificate (NOC) from their home board in order to feature. While Lynn no longer holds a national or state contract, Australia would still be considered his home base by the ICC.

CA officials had yet to receive a request for such a certificate for Lynn and made clear there is no guarantee it would be granted.

“Cricket Australia has not received any applications for NOCs pertaining to a player’s participation in any overseas competitions for the upcoming season,” a CA spokesperson said. “Our guiding principle remains the prioritisation and protection of Australia’s domestic summer of cricket and the interests of the game overall.”

The current players’ deal also outlines that NOCs are usually only granted outside the Australian summer, be it at the conclusion of state cricket for the IPL and grade cricket for all other leagues.

Lynn’s management, the players’ union and UAE league officials are aware of CA’s position.

Let go by Brisbane at the end of last summer, Lynn would still be a crowd-puller and magnet for TV audiences at any of the eight Big Bash franchises.

There has been interest shown and even talks with Adelaide, however the reality is no club could match the maximum salary of $650,000 on offer in the UAE.

CA also have some question marks over the validity of the ratification of the UAE league, given a whopping 72 overseas players will be welcomed with 12 in each squad.

The issue was raised at a meeting last month of national association bosses, who believe the ICC charter dictates an allowance of only nine overseas players per league.

BBL draft nominees on the UAE list of incoming players included Alex Hales, Sandeep Lamichhane, Mujeeb Ul Rahman, Evin Lewis, Colin Munro, James Vince and Dan Lawrence.

In better news for the BBL, positive talks remain ongoing about David Warner’s return to the BBL, after having last played in the Australian league in 2013.

GOP polls show House battlefield stretching into double-digit Biden districts

But the numbers behave with general assessments about the state of the House map from strategists of both parties, as well as the close results of the 2021 statewide elections in New Jersey and Virginia. Altogether, the tightening polls suggest that some super-blue seats could be in play in November, which would mean Democrats may have to expend precious resources there on defense — especially because they lack well-funded incumbents.

The most encouraging poll for Republicans came in Oregon’s new 6th District, where Republican Mike Erickson led Democratic state Rep. Andrea Salinas by 7 points, 47 percent to 40 percent, with 13 percent undecided. In a district that Biden won by nearly 14 points, his approval rating of him is underwater by 20 points. Republicans lead on a generic ballot by 7 points — a rough reality for a seat that Democrats drew to be safe.

Erickson, a supply chain logistics consultant, has poured some of his own money into the race: He raked in $1.1 million in the second quarter, compared to Salinas’ $800,000. The survey of 400 likely voters was conducted July 26-28 by Cygnal for the Erickson campaign and the National Republican Campaign Committee, contacting voters via live calls and text-to-web. The margin of error was plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.

Oregon has turned into a surprising pressure point for Democrats, who are defending three open seats in the state. The most at-risk district is the one that Democratic Rep. Kurt Schrader lost in a May primary. Now, a more progressive Democrat is defending the turf against a credible GOP candidate in a seat Biden won by 9 points.

“Voters in historically blue seats are rejecting Democrats’ failed economic record of tax hikes, record-high prices, and a recession,” NRCC communications director Michael McAdams said.

Still, Democrats feel confident in their ability to retain these seats, citing Kansans’ recent endorsement of abortion rights at the ballot box as a sign that voters have sourced on the GOP and its agenda. And Democrats pushed back on the Republican poll of Oregon’s 6th District, citing internal Democratic polling from early July that found a tied race between Salinas and Erickson.

“Voters in Kansas just showed us how toxic the Republican brand is and now House Republicans are shaking in their boots because they’ve got to defend their anti-freedom MAGA agenda,” said DCCC spokesman Chris Hayden. “Democrats are the party of freedom, justice, and putting people over politics.”

Still, Republicans insist the fact that there are deep-blue districts hosting such close polling results show the political environment is continuing to move swiftly in their favor. In Oregon, they also see a path to contesting the retiring district Rep. Peter DeFazio is vacating along the western coast of the state.

A July 25-28 survey of 400 likely voters in DeFazio’s district found a 5-point race, with Democrat Val Hoyle leading Republican Alek Skarlatos, 46 percent to 41 percent, with 13 percent undecided. Skarlatos, a former National Guardsman who thwarted a terrorist attack on a Paris-bound train, is making a second run for the seat that Biden won by 13 points.

Biden is underwater in the district by 16 points, according to the poll, which was conducted by Moore Information for the Skarlatos campaign and the NRCC. The margin of error is plus or minus 5 percentage points and it surveyed 400 likely voters via live calls.

Meanwhile, a mid-July poll from the Congressional Leadership Fund, the top GOP super PAC, found Republican Erik Aadland trailing Democrat Brittany Pettersen by 2 points, 44 percent to 42 percent in an open seat anchored in the Denver suburbs, where Democratic Rep. Ed Perlmutter is retiring. Biden carried the district by 15 points in 2020.

For Republicans, the surveys are also an encouraging sign that they remain competitive in Democratic-leaning seats in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn. Roe v. Wade.

One recent survey of 400 likely voters in an open district in California’s Central Valley found Democrat Adam Gray leading Republican John Duarte by 4 points, 47 percent to 43 percent. Biden is underwater by 9 points (43 percent approval, 52 percent disapproval) in a district he carried by 11 points in 2020. The seat is open post-redistricting because Rep. Josh Harder (D-Calif.) is running in a more Democratic -friendly district nearby.

But that poll also included some good news for Democrats: They are leading on the generic ballot there, 46 percent to 43 percent, and Biden’s approval has ticked up at least somewhat. An internal Duarte campaign poll from May found Biden underwater by 13 points with his disapproval of him at 39 percent.

The live-caller survey was conducted Aug. 3-7 for the NRCC and the Duarte campaign. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.

YouTube 2022: Amazing Features to Use for a Better Streaming Experience

Since 2005, YouTube has been a source of entertainment for a lot of people, and it is one of the most visited websites in the world.

A lot of features have been added to the platform since then, but there are some that you may not know about.

Viewing the Transcript of a Video

Closed captions show in real-time as a video is playing, and that is the main purpose of closed captions, but you can also read the full transcript.

This is very handy if you want to read the captions at your own pace, copy the text, or even search for words that are spoken in a video. You can check transcripts on the YouTube desktop site and the Android and iPhone apps.

Check All of the Comments

If you are an active commenter on YouTube, your comments are spread out across several different videos.

However, there is not really a great way to see all of your comments on one platform, unless you know where they go.

Your YouTube comment history is saved to the Google My Activity portal, and go to the YouTube comment section so you can see them all in a chronological list, according to HowtoGeek.

Save Videos So You Can Watch It Later

You may have been browsing YouTube and come across a video that you find interesting. If you do not have the time to watch it, you can use the Watch Later feature.

Watch Later is just a playlist that you can add videos to for watching later. It is great for saving videos that you do not want to forget about, and it works everywhere you can access the platform’s website or app.

Make the Videos Always Fill Your Screen

It is pretty common for your phone’s display to have a different aspect ratio than the videos themselves. You can pinch them to zoom and fill the full screen when watching a video, but you need to do that every single time.

You can make it so the videos will always fill the screen, according to Small Biz Trends. You won’t have to pinch-to-zoom every time, but you will be able to zoom out if too much of the video is being cut off on the screen.

Double Tap the Video to Skip Forward and Back

If you want to save a lot of time watching videos on the YouTube mobile app, you can skip them forward just by tapping the video. If you’ve missed some scenes, you can double tap to bring it back a few seconds.

Change the Video’s Double-Tap Skip Time

Aside from double-tapping to skip forward or back in a video, you can also adjust the length of these skips. By default, it is 10 seconds, but you can change the length from five seconds to 60 seconds. It is a great thing to do if you do not want to tap the videos too much.

Double-Tap to Skip Chapters

You can skip forward or back using one finger, but you can tap the video with two fingers for easier control.

Some longer videos on the platform are broken down into chapters and by using two fingers to tap the left or right side of the screen, you can skip between chapters, according to TechCrunch.

Revealed: Why Piastri won’t race for Alpine in 2023

Oscar Piastri never held an F1 contract with Alpine, and is therefore free to drive for McLaren in 2023, RacingNews365.com can reveal.

With Fernando Alonso’s 2023 move from Alpine to Aston Martin announced on 30 July, Alpine moved swiftly to promote current reserve driver Piastri to a race seat next year.

However, just two hours after Alpine’s statement confirming Piastri – which did not include any quotes from Piastri himself – the Australian released a statement of his own saying that he would not be driving for Alpine in 2023.

RacingNews365.com revealed last week that Piastri had instead agreed to a deal to race for McLaren in 2023 in place of the underperforming Daniel Ricciardo.

Now, well-placed sources at Alpine have told RacingNews365.comthat Piastri never held a Formula 1 contract with the team.

More on Alpine and McLaren’s tug-of-war over Piastri

Piastri had signed a contract with Alpine in November 2021, which contained a clause outlining the team’s obligations towards Piastri.

These obligations included giving Piastri a certain number of test kilometers in an F1 car, which RacingNews365.com understands is in excess of 3,500km, along with paying his expenses and making him Alpine’s reserve driver in 2022.

If Alpine fulfilled these obligations, an option existed for the team to place Piastri in a race seat for 2023.

Crucially, however, this contract was between Piastri and Alpine’s Driver Academy, rather than the F1 team.

This meant the contract was never registered with Formula 1’s Contract Recognition Board, as it was not a F1 contract.

Accordingly, when McLaren lodged their contract with Piastri with the CRB after signing the Australian, neither Alpine nor McLaren received any notification from the CRB of any conflict.

Contractual wranglings set to continue

Though McLaren currently have Lando Norris and Ricciardo under contract for next year, RacingNews365.com has learned that McLaren intends to release Ricciardo from his deal.

Negotiations currently ongoing as to the terms of such a split, but RacingNews365.com understands that Ricciardo’s camp are looking for financial compensation in the region of $21 million.

This means the only options available to Alpine are to pursue the matter in a civil court. With Alpine’s parent company Renault Groupe registered in France, and the Alpine F1 team headquartered in England, it is unclear which jurisdiction would hold sway.

Should Alpine decide to pursue the matter in a civil court, it is understood that the team would chiefly be seeking financial compensation for losing Piastri, rather than a ruling obliging the Australian to drive for Alpine in 2023.

Biden skewered for admitting ‘God knows what else’ is in Inflation Reduction Act

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

President Joe Biden was criticized on Twitter on Monday for appearing to admit that he does not know what is in the Inflation Reduction Act, legislation that his administration championed.

“What we’re doing today, what we passed yesterday, helping to take care of everything from health care to God knows what else,” Biden said during a speech in Kentucky after touring the state’s flood damage.

The legislation, which passed the Senate on Sunday on a party-line vote with Vice President Kamala Harris the tiebreaker, will increase taxes for nearly all Americans while adding 87,000 IRS agents and actually increase inflation in its first years, according to the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Budget Model.

Biden was slammed on Twitter for his remarks.

“‘God knows what else’ means whatever the far left wanted in the Bill and all the extra pork Manchin and Sinema needed to get to Yes,” tweeted Rep. Claudia Tenney, RN.Y.

“This is how Joe Biden describes the $$$ printing, inflation worsening, monster bill that Democrats passed yesterday…He doesn’t even know what’s in the bill,” former congressional candidate Robby Starbuck tweeted.

Tommy Pigott, a rapid response director for RNC Research, tweeted, “Looks like even Biden knows his Bidenflation Scam would actually INCREASE inflation.”

“The ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ will ‘take care of everything like health care and God knows what else’ is one heck of a Kinsley gaffe by @POTUS,” said Pluribus editor Jeryl Bier.

Many Democrats are refusing to pledge their support for a hypothetical Biden re-election bid, and the Real Clear Politics polling average shows Donald Trump leading Biden by three points.

Brooklyn Nets governor Joe Tsai voices support for front office, coaches in wake of Kevin Durant’s trade demands

Brooklyn Nets governor Joe Tsai voiced his support Monday night for the front office and coaching staff after Kevin Durant told Tsai to choose between him and the team’s general manager and coach.

Tsai and Durant recently met in London, ESPN sources confirmed, and Durant reiterated his desire to be traded and suggested the franchise needed to choose between him and coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks.

Durant initially asked for a trade on June 30, and he hasn’t backed off that request. At 33 years old, Durant has four years and $198 million left on his contract, which means Brooklyn can be patient in waiting out teams for the kind of return it believes will eventually emerge for a star player reaching the trade market in his prime.

The meeting between Durant and Tsai was first reported by The Athletic, which also noted it occurred on the one-year anniversary of Durant signing his extension.

Durant, along with Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan, joined the Nets in the summer of 2019 after Marks and then-coach Kenny Atkinson had helped lead the franchise out of the doldrums and to a surprising postseason berth.

Since then, nothing has gone the way the Nets planned.

Durant sat out the 2019-20 season while recovering from an Achilles tendon tear, Jordan was traded, Nash was hired to replace Atkinson, James Harden has come and gone, and Ben Simmons has yet to make his Nets debut.

Irving, who played in 29 games last season after choosing to not get the COVID-19 vaccine, has also pursued an exit from Brooklyn this offseason. He created a list of teams he would have liked the Nets to consider working with on a sign-and-trade deal, but when none materialized, he opted into the final year of his contract. The Nets could still trade him as an expiring contract (although Irving would have no formal voice in a potential landing spot) and have until June 30 of next year to work out an extension before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Durant averaged 29.9 points in 55 games last season, after leading the United States to Olympic gold at the Tokyo Games last summer.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
