Beckham Peltz family feud: Brooklyn, Nicola in love but Victoria, David clashing with parents

It’s like Miami’s own version of dynasty.

Amid rumors of tension between Victoria Beckham and her new daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz, Page Six is told the trouble within the Beckham and Peltz clans is more widespread.

“Victoria and Nicola are just collateral damage. It’s not just about two women — it’s two families coming together,” said one highly placed source.

“It’s pretty obvious there’s an issue between the two families. Everybody needs to find their place. They’re just not quite connecting yet.”

The problems are not said to be between Brooklyn, 23, and his new in-laws, billionaire investor Nelson Peltz and his wife, Claudia.

In fact, Nelson’s is offering to back his son-in-law in whatever venture he wants.

According to the source, the chatter in Palm Beach is that the young couple could create their own empire, à la Brooklyn’s parents’ “Brand Beckham”.

It’s believed that Brooklyn and Nicola, a 28-year-old actress, would love to follow in the Beckhams’ footsteps by launching clothing, beauty and perfume lines.

“There is a very deliberate move orchestrated by Nicola and her mom and funded by Nelson. There is a reason why Brooklyn and Nicola are now ‘Peltz Beckham’. It’s all about branding,” the highly-placed source said.

“I think that Nicola and her mom come up with ideas, Nelson can fund anything and he says yes! But for David and Victoria, it has to have some substance.”

Among the Beckham brands are Victoria’s fashion and beauty range, as well as David’s $139 million lifetime deal with Adidas, endorsements including Tudor watches and his own whiskey with Diageo Haig Club.

Earlier this year, the 47-year-old British soccer star, who co-owns the Inter Miami CF team, signed the biggest deal of his life, with Authentic Brands Group (ABG) — which will co-own and manage his global brand , DB Ventures. CNBC reported that the company paid $269 million for a 55 per cent stake.

“The Beckhams are quite old-fashioned. They believe that everyone should make their own way up in the world,” said another source in the know. “Although they’ll always give their kids a leg up in terms of support and endorsement, they famously made Brooklyn work in a cafe to teach him about work ethics and to get some values. They really were keen to support his passion for photography, so they helped him get internships; then he got into cooking, and they’ve supported that.”

The Beckhams were unavailable for comment.

“There are cultural differences between the two families,” the source in the know added.

Reps for Nelson and Nicola did not comment.

Immediately after the wedding, Brooklyn, who has more than 14 million Instagram followers, changed his account handle to @brooklynpeltzbeckham, while Nicola is now @nicolaannepeltzbeckham.

Another family source said: “Brooklyn has become so, so close to the Peltzes, and to Nicola’s dad, especially. For Victoria, who is extremely close to Brooklyn, that has to be difficult.”

And as Brooklyn is close to Victoria, 48, Nicola is said to be just as tight with her mom, Claudia, who reportedly joined her on the movie set of “Lola James,” which Nicola wrote, co-directed and stars in. It’s not yet known when the film will be released.

“Claudia pulls a lot of the family’s strings.” said one Florida society source.

There’s also a bit of snobbery in the mix, according to multiple sources.

“The Peltzes may have thought, (the Beckhams) ‘will be easy’. The Beckhams are just a pop star and a footballer, but they’ve been doing this for 25 years — they’re very astute,” said the Florida society source.

“They can’t be controlled with the Peltz money.”

David’s fortune is now at around $750 million, Page Six is told by an insider. Nelson, meanwhile, is reportedly worth $1.8 billion.

The Daily Mail last month pointed out how the initial love affair between Victoria and Nicola had seemed to cool down.

Back in 2021, Victoria liked 25 of Nicola’s Instagram posts in a three-month period, and Nicola liked 20 of hers in the same time frame.

Now, Victoria hasn’t liked a single post by Nicola since May 27 — but she has been active on the platform, posting photos of her latest fashion designs, as well as of her husband and other children.

While Nicola posted on Instagram from her honeymoon with Brooklyn, spent on a yacht with her family in Italy, Victoria liked none of them.

The newlyweds took Nelson, 80, and Claudia, 67, on their Italian honeymoon.

The Beckhams were holidaying at the same time on another yacht nearby and it was not clear whether the families saw each other.

The young couple wed in April at her family’s $103 million home in Palm Beach, with the bash covered by fashion bible Vogue.

As a sign of just how much the Peltz clan was in control of the wedding, there was reportedly a Wendy’s burger truck at the bash — Nelson is chairman of the board. Said the Palm Beach source: “The wedding was very much a Peltz production.”

Each family had their own table at the lavish reception, while the newlyweds sat at a separate table, Page Six is told.

“Let’s face it, weddings are hard enough, but particularly tough when you’re dealing with two big wealthy, high-profile and complicated families,” said the highly-placed source.

Last Friday, Nicola shared a melodramatic selfie on Instagram in which she appeared to have tears running down her face.

“Sometimes I find it hard to show the sad bits of me,” she wrote, explaining that, growing up in a large family, her “strong parents” had “hammered it into me to not let people bring me down or hurt my heart .”

She then thanked her followers for their support the next day.

“Look, whatever happens, Nicola and Brooklyn are clearly crazy about each other — and that’s what matters right now,” said the source in the know. “Families go through these things, frankly, everyone thinks it will all sort itself out.”

3 dead in shooting at Florida Narcotics Anonymous meeting

EDGEWATER, Fla. — A man went into a Narcotics Anonymous meeting in Florida and fatally shot his ex-girlfriend and her friend before turning the gun on himself, police said Tuesday.

Quinton Hunter brandished the gun shortly after entering the Monday night meeting, Edgewater police Chief Joseph Mahoney said during a news conference Tuesday. About 20 other participants safely fled and called police, he said.

Erica Hoffman and Ian Greenfield were already dead when officers arrived, the chief said. At some point after the shooting, Hunter began recording a Facebook Live which showed him wearing goggles and breathing heavily.

“It appears from the timeline we have that he had already shot Mr. Greenfield and had fired several other shots before he went live,” the chief said. “But he didn’t make any comments, he didn’t communicate with us. Just heavy breathing. It was very strange.”

Officers sought to make contact with the suspect to negotiate before a SWAT team breached the building and found the gunman and the two others dead inside, the post said.

Hunter had a violent criminal history, the chief said. He also said investigators are still trying to figure out the relationship between Greenfield and Hoffman, and that Hunter may have been motivated by jealousy.

The meeting was held in the offices of Be The Bridge, a nonprofit organization that helps the homeless and others get a fresh start in life.

A man’s body was found sticking out of a sand dune on a Florida beach, and investigators believe he was killed when the hill of sand collapsed over him, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

The discovery was made early Monday, Aug. 8, on Hutchinson Island, about 120 miles north of Miami.

Evidence suggests the man was recording video of the sunrise when the dune collapsed, trapping and killing him, officials said.

“An early morning beachgoer noticed a portion of the victim’s body protruding from the sand and called for help,” the sheriff’s office said. ”It appears that the man died hours earlier from asphyxia as a result of being trapped underneath the sand.”

The identity of the 35-year-old has not been released. I have lived in nearby Stuart, officials said.

Foul play is not suspected. Investigators are awaiting results of toxicology tests, which is standard procedure, the sheriff’s office said.

“Those tests, however, are not likely to change the outcome of this incident being a tragic accident,” the sheriff’s office said.

Donald Trump says FBI conducting search of Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida

WASHINGTON — Multiple sources confirm to ABC News that former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was raided by FBI agents on Monday.

The sources told ABC News that the search began at around 10 am

The former president put out a statement Monday evening saying federal investigators were there and that they had even gotten into his safe. Trump was not there at the time of the search.

Sources tell ABC News that the search for Mar-a-Lago was related to the 15 boxes of documents that Trump took to his estate when he departed the White House — some of which the National Archives has said was marked classified.

MORE: Republicans speak out against FBI raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate

In January, Trump handed over the documents to the National Archives, and attorneys for Trump said they were searching for any more records they may have.

Law enforcement sources told ABC News the FBI activities at Trump’s compound are court authorized.

The action marks a dramatic escalation in law enforcement scrutiny of Trump and comes as he has been laying the groundwork to make another bid for president.

“After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” Trump said in his statement.

ANALYSIS: What we know, don’t know about Mar-a-Lago raid

Justice Department spokesperson Dena Iverson declined to comment on the search, including about whether Attorney General Merrick Garland had personally authorized the search.

A Biden White House official confirmed to ABC News Tuesday morning they received no advanced notice of the FBI raid.

Federal law bars the removal of classified documents to unauthorized locations, though it is possible that Trump could try to argue that, as president, he was the ultimate declassification authority.

There are multiple statutes governing classified information, including a law punishable by up to five years in prison that makes it a crime to remove such records and retain them at an unauthorized location. Another statute makes it a crime to mishandle classified records either intentionally or in a grossly negligent manner.

The probe is hardly the only legal headache confronting Trump. A separate investigation related to efforts by Trump and his allies from him to under the results of the 2020 presidential election and the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the US Capitol has also been intensifying in Washington.

And a district attorney in Fulton County, Georgia is investigating whether Trump and his close associates sought to interfere in that state’s election, which was won by Democrat Joe Biden.

Miami’s plan to house homeless on beach island sparks outrage

Miami residents are up in arms over a pilot program to build an encampment for homeless people on a secluded beach that’s just a stone’s throw away from an exclusive island that was once home to Oprah Winfrey, Derek Jeter, and Mel Brooks.

Miami-Dade County’s seventh district sparked anger after it quietly approved a plan to build between 50 and 100 miniature houses in the North Point Park section of Virginia Key Beach.

Residents are upset over the plan for a variety of reasons, according to reports.

Environmentalists believe the encampment will destroy the island’s fragile ecosystem, while recreational enthusiasts think it will hamper their ability to spend time outdoors unhindered, according to The Daily Beast.

Advocates for the homeless are also opposed to the plan because they say there aren’t enough resources or infrastructure on the island in order to facilitate access to transportation, sewage and food.

“You’re taking the chronically homeless, shelter resistant population, bringing them to an isolated area, removing them from everything they know, providing only mobile services and pretty much isolating them on an island two miles from the nearest roadway,” Esther Alonso, the owner of Virginia Key Outdoor Center, told WSVN-TV.

Virginia Key, a largely isolated island, currently houses a magnet public high school as well as a wastewater treatment plant. The nearest grocery store is some six miles away.

It is also right next door to Key Biscayne and Fisher Island — home to some of the priciest real estate in the country.

Celebrities who have bought real estate in these areas include Argentinian soccer icon Lionel Messi, actor Andy Garcia, pop star Cher, tennis legends Boris Becker and Andre Agassi, “Pretty Woman” star Julia Roberts, and hockey star Pavel “Russian Rocket” Bure.

On Thursday, hundreds of residents expressed their displeasure during a District 7 town hall meeting that was broadcast via Zoom.

In the comments section, county commissioners were inundated with messages denouncing their plan.

“Are the homeless that are going to be housed illegal immigrants or are we first going to house homeless US Citizens?” one resident wrote.

The commenter added: “if we’re putting tax dollars to not even take care of US citizens then we need to refocus altogether.”

Another commenter said: “Bad, Bad idea. Bunch of dummies.”

“These ‘Tiny homes’ would be for rent on Airbnb in no time,” another town hall attendee fumed.

County officials voted 3-2 to advance the plan, but Ken Russell, a commissioner who is opposed to the so-called “transition zone” in Virginia Key, said that Miami Mayor Francis Suarez has the “ability to veto any actions by the city commission.”

“It’s embarrassing for the city,” Russell told The Daily Beast.

“It perpetuates this reaction from residents like ‘not here, do it over there.’ It’s not only that this is the wrong location for this idea, but it’s the wrong solution.”

Florida prosecutor Andrew Warren vows to fight Gov. DeSantis suspension

ST. PETERSURG, Fla. — A Florida prosecutor vowed Sunday to fight his suspension from office by Gov. Ron DeSantis over his promise of him not to enforce the state’s 15-week abortion ban and support for gender transition treatments for minors.

Andrew Warren, a Democrat suspended last week from his twice-elected post as state attorney in Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, said in a Facebook video message and news release Sunday he plans a “vigorous defense” by his legal team but did not give specifics.

“I’m not going down without a fight,” Warren said on the video. “I refuse to let this man trample on your freedoms to speak your mind, to make your own health care decisions, and to have your vote count.”

Warren was suspended Thursday by DeSantis, a Republican seeking re-election in November and potential 2024 presidential candidate, who cited neglect of duty and other alleged violations. The governor contended that’s because Warren signed statements with dozens of other prosecutors nationwide vowing not to pursue criminal cases against people who seek or provide abortions or gender transition treatments.

Florida prosecutor vows to fight Gov. DeSantis suspension

ST. PETERSURG, Fla. (AP) — A Florida prosecutor vowed Sunday to fight his suspension from office by Gov.

Warren contended Sunday the governor was essentially seeking to nullify the will of voters in the Tampa area who elected him in 2016 and 2020.

“I was elected because the people of this county share my vision for criminal justice, trust my judgment, and have seen your success,” Warren said in the video. “I swore to uphold the Constitution, and that’s exactly what I’ve done. DeSantis is trying to take away my job for doing my job.”

Under Florida law, the Republican-controlled state Senate has authority to reinstate Warren or uphold his removal from office. Warren could also take his case to court.

The governor’s office did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment Sunday. DeSantis said Thursday, however, that Warren was acting “above the law” and “displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform” the duties of his office.

“I don’t think the people of Hillsborough County want to have an agenda that is basically woke up, where you’re deciding that your view of social justice means certain laws shouldn’t be enforced,” said the governor.

Florida’s new abortion restriction became effective July 1 and remains under court challenge by abortion providers and allies. It prohibits abortions after 15 weeks, with exceptions if the procedure is necessary to save the pregnant woman’s life, prevent serious injury or if the fetus has a fatal abnormality. It does not allow exemptions in cases where pregnancies were caused by rape, incest or human trafficking.

Violators could face up to five years in prison. Physicians and other medical professionals could lose their licenses and face administrative fines of $10,000 for each violation.

Florida has not enacted laws criminalizing gender transition treatments for minors.

DeSantis appointed Hillsborough County Judge Susan Lopez to serve in Warren’s place during his suspension.

Armie Hammer reunites with estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers and their two kids in LA

Armie Hammer has been pictured reuniting with estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers for the first time since he was forced out of Hollywood and went to work as a timeshare salesman in the Cayman Islands.

Despite infidelity and allegations of rape and cannibalism, the pair appeared friendly as they spent quality time with their two kids Harper, seven, and Ford, five, in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Hammer wore a blue ‘Florida State Parks’ t-shirt, khaki shorts and flip flops. He was in the same Florida tee the last time DailyMail.com caught up with him a couple weeks ago.

The actor was with his two youngsters walking their dog Archie, the same dog that left Hammer with stiches in his hand 2020. The doting dad could be seen chatting with his kids and watching over his son as he picked up after their dog.

He then took the children to meet up with Chambers, who appeared sporty in black biker shorts, a t-shirt and sneaker. The mom-of-two enjoyed a sushi dinner with her kids.

Two women said he told them he wanted to remove their ribs, barbecue them and eat them, and one accused him of slicing the letter ‘A’ into one of her thighs before sucking the blood out of her fresh wound.

After the accusations were made public, the actor was dropped by his agency, WME, and was subsequently let go from various film projects, including Paramount Plus series The Offer, Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding, as well as the thriller Billion Dollar Spy.

He and Chambers had announced their split a few months before the allegations surfaced.

Hammer checked into a rehabilitation center to treat sex, drug and alcohol abuse, where he stayed from May through December 2021.

He had been laying low in the Cayman Islands after the rehab stint, supposedly staying with Chambers and their two children. Hammer returned from the Caymans after he was mobbed by media when photos showed him working as a timeshare salesman went viral.

DailyMail.com previously caught up with Chambers who confirmed Robert Downey Jr. had helped fund Hammer’s rehab stint and said ‘everybody needs help.’

“Everything is good,” Chambers said last month as she stepped out for dinner in Hollywood.

She declined to comment on whether Hammer had been selling timeshares while in the islands, and but insisted that he was happy.

‘I really couldn’t talk about that,’ she said, ‘But I think he’s happy and that’s good.’

Though Hammer and Chambers separated in 2020 after he allegedly cheated on her at least twice, she characterized him as ‘my best friend.’

Asked whether she felt her husband had healed since his scandal and rehab stint, she paused and said ‘I think everyone is always going through a process.’

As to any chance of rekindling their romance, Chambers only laughed.

Earlier in July, Hammer’s attorney denied that the actor was working as a salesman, following a viral tweet with an image that showed his face on a pamphlet as a concierge for a hotel.

The since-deleted tweet’s caption read: ‘My friend’s parents went on vacation in the Cayman Islands and Armie Hammer was their concierge.’

The pamphlet included discount vouchers and advertised that Hammer would take guests to swim ‘with wild turtles’ and point them to the ‘best snorkeling and diving spots.’

The source told Variety Hammer was working the job because he was ‘broke.’

‘He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working at a cubicle, ‘the source said,’ The reality is he’s totally broke, and he is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family from him.’

According to the source, Hammer, who is the great-grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer – who was worth an estimated $800 million at the time of his death – ‘is not on the family payroll’ and has been forced to work a regular job after his Hollywood downfall.

The insider also shared that Hammer previously managed an apartment complex in the Cayman Islands.
