‘I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing,’ she noted.

Elon Musk’s dad Errol Musk denies he is ‘not proud’ of his son after Kyle and Jackie O Show comments

Elon Musk’s father created a whirlwind of controversy this week after telling Australian radio hosts he is not proud of his billionaire son.

Errol Musk, 76, told Daily Mail Australia his three daughters were so upset with the comments on Kyle and Jackie O they refused to speak to him for days.

But the retired electrical engineer said the comments were misunderstood and that he didn’t properly hear the question.

‘Elon knows it’s not true, so he would never get upset about it. He just laughs this kind of stuff off,’ Mr Musk said.

‘But the last message Elon sent to me was ”Dad, the press play you like a fiddle so please keep quiet”.’

While the two have shared a somewhat rocky relationship over the years, Mr Musk said he had been proud of Elon since ‘the day he was born’.

Errol Musk (right) said his billionaire son Elon (left) knows his comments to Kyle and Jackie O are ‘not true’ – ‘he would never get upset about it. He just laughs this kind of stuff off’

The media storm follows bombshell revelations last month that Mr Musk has fathered two children with his stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout, 34.

It also comes on the heels of Elon’s ongoing tensions with US President Joe Biden – as well as his bitter legal fight to pull out of the $44 billion ($63billion AUD) Twitter buyout, something his father says he may partly be responsible for.

The Australian radio interview

During Monday’s radio interview on KIIS FM, Jackie O said: ‘Your offspring is a genius. He’s worth so much money and has created so many things, you can’t take that away from him. Are you proud?’

But Mr Musk shocked listeners by replying ‘no’.

‘You know, we are a family that have been doing a lot of things for a long time, it’s not as if we suddenly started doing something,’ Errol replied.

I have clarified the awkward mix-up by saying: ‘I didn’t actually notice her question about being proud? I thought she asked “were you expecting this coming?”

‘It was only when I listened to the recording afterwards that I realized.’

Mr Musk, who was calling from South Africa, said he simply got lost in the conversation of the energetic hosts.

‘It was a bit more confusing because the other chap (Kyle), who was a nice fellow, was laughing a lot so I never quite picked up what she (Jackie O) was saying while I was talking,’ he said.

‘If you ask any parent if they are proud of their son, you are proud of them from the day they are born.’

But while he knows Elon is far too busy to be concerned about how his comments were reported, he revealed his daughters were extremely upset.

‘I still fly airplanes but my kids think I should go to a retirement home after that,’ he joked.

‘All three of them got a hold of me and said “what’s wrong with you, how could you possibly say something like that?”

‘Alexandra wouldn’t even speak to me. I kept sending her messages from her but she refused to talk.’

Mr Musk has since explained his mistake and he and his daughters are once again on good terms.

Backlash after having children with his stepdaughter

Kyle and Jackie O also asked Mr Musk about his relationship with 34-year-old stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout – who he was married to and shares two young children with.

He was married to her mother Heide Bezuidenhout in the early 1990s for two years before they divorced and Jana was placed in foster care.

‘I never really saw her much at all after that but Then in about 2014, she wrote to me and said she was in a desperate situation living in a store room with some chap and they had no food and her eight-year-old daughter had been put into care,’ Mr Musk said.

‘The next day I went to see her and I sorted her out with some funds. She was so thin – I couldn’t believe anybody could be as thin as she was.

‘She is a real princess but she was dressed in rags so I took her [shopping] for clothing and food.’

Mr Musk continued to provide her with money for a number of years and the two grew closer.

‘She left her boyfriend and came to me at one point when she was about 30 years old,’ he said.

‘Obviously there was a big generation gap but we really liked each other and enjoyed each other’s company.

‘We had a little boy, Elliot Rush who is now five, and I can’t imagine a world without him.’

Jana also welcomed a girl, Asha Rose Musk, in 2019.

‘She since has gone back to that boyfriend, and he is more her age, but I provide them with an apartment and medical aid, a car and whatever they need,’ he said.

‘We’ve never had DNA tests done because we love her anyway, no matter what. The main thing is we all love her.

‘They both have their little life and I don’t interfere. I get along with her boyfriend great. And Jana’s mother loves them too.’

Elon’s battle with Biden and the Twitter deal

Mr Musk said he’s never had any doubts about Elon when it comes to his work ethic or scientific mind.

The 51-year-old is the world’s richest person after amassing a fortune of US$242billion, following his incredible success with the payment service platform PayPal, solar car company Tesla and the rocket-building firm Space X.

But his father does ‘worry’ about his recent political statements and the immense pressure he’s under.

‘At the beginning of this year Elon started making a lot of political statements because of this Biden situation in the United States,’ Mr Musk said.

‘You have this really strange thing where you have this guy who can’t put two sentences together who is supposed to be the President.

‘I told Elon, you are getting into the political side now. How is your security? You have to be careful because the political situation is very dangerous.’

The US President earlier this year ruffled Elon’s feathers by ignoring Tesla and calling rival manufacturer GM – the nation’s electric car leader.

Mr Musk said Elon’s growing appetite for politics coincided with his ambition to purchase the social media platform Twitter for $44billion ($63billion AUD).

‘Elon had this idea that both sides have their chance to give their opinions, not just one side,’ his father said.

‘Then he decided he was going to go after Twitter with a plan to make it a neutral platform – that’s all he wanted. But from my experience that was a bit naïve.’

Now the tech billionaire and Twitter are set to go to court after Elon blew up the deal, accusing the company of drastically under-estimating the number of fake accounts.

‘A little while ago I tried to join Twitter and it told me I already had a profile with over 400 posts,’ Mr Musk said.

‘It was a fake account. It had foul language and all sorts of stuff like that. It was not me.

‘I mentioned that to Elon recently and told him to keep it in mind – and Elon has realized that now and he’s said ‘I’m not going to buy this platform if it’s full of a bunch of fake accounts’.’

'I told Elon, you are getting into the political side now. How is your security? You have to be careful because the political situation is very dangerous, 'Errol Musk said he advised his son Elon

‘British-obsessed’ Aussie woman points out the VERY bizarre items she found while shopping overseas

‘British-obsessed’ Aussie woman points out the bizarre items she found while shopping in an English supermarket for the first time: ‘Why would you microwave a single slice of toast?’

  • Aussie Georgian comedian Jean McCudden, 22, is currently in England
  • Describing herself as ‘British obsessed’ the young woman posted a video there
  • It showed her wandering around a series of supermarkets to buy groceries
  • She noted a number of stark differences between the grocers there and at home

A ‘British obsessed’ Australian woman has visited an English supermarket for the first time and pointed out some of the very unique differences in how the two nations shop.

Comedian Georgia Jean McCudden, 22, jetted to Bath, the largest city in the county of Somerset, England, with her boyfriend Sam in tow to enjoy a relaxing European summer.

While visiting the city Georgia made sure to stop by a local Waitrose and Marks and Spencer to get a taste for how the Brits purchase their groceries – and voiced a number of surprises along the way in a recent TikTok video.

‘I’m Australian and I’ve never been to a British supermarket before so these were my honest thoughts. So I started by looking at the juice and I thought ‘what in the hell is this Truman s***?’ She started, pointing out that the plastic containers of juice in M&S were filled with paper.

They were mock ups of what customers could buy if they visited the cafe in the center of the store but it confused Georgia nonetheless.

‘Something I found in M&S was that 90 per cent of the chilled section was ready made meals. The UK just understands that most families have both parents making the income,’ she continued.

‘Honestly the quality and convenience is a 10/10.’

However she did spot a single piece of packaged cold toast in the freezer section and pointed out how wasteful that appeared to be, given how easy it is to use a toaster.

‘I know humanity loves their convenience but at the end of the day why would you microwave a single piece of toast?’ She questioned.

Georgia was also not a fan of the many assorted ‘chocolate and orange’ flavoring combinations in the sweets section.

‘That’s just like eating a cucumber and ice cream. Like you could do it but why would you want to?’ She said.

In Waitrose Georgia noted that there were special personal scanning devices so you could seamlessly checkout while you shop through the store.

‘Honestly genius, Australia get onto it,’ she said.

‘Inside Waitrose they had cooking classes, a cafe and you can buy alcohol too. Australians are like kids who don’t like their food touching… like you have to go to three different places to do all that.’

Georgia and Sam ended up purchasing a packaged ravioli pasta for dinner before leaving the shop.

Many of her followers pointed out how expensive Waitrose and M&S are in comparison to Asda and Tesco supermarkets.

‘Found it so weird when I first moved here that you can get clothes, alcohol and food all in the same place,’ a fellow Australian follower commented.

‘I’m British myself and yet the orange and chocolate doesn’t make sense to me either,’ said another.

A third added: ‘Nah but how is amazing is M&S… if I could bring anything from the UK, it would be marksies’.

  • Chalmers considered leaving the sport over ‘love triangle’ claims at Games

Champion swimmer Kyle Chalmers was all smiles arriving home from a successful Commonwealth Games, looking to put the ‘love triangle’ drama that almost derailed his campaign in the rear-vision mirror.

Chalmers was met by his mother at Adelaide airport and appeared in good spirits.

He donned a black hoodie with a pair of Australian swim team tracksuit pants.

The Commonwealth Games gold medalist beamed at waiting media as he wheeled his luggage through the airport alongside his mother.

Chalmers left Birmingham with three gold medals and one silver.

During the game he said he was considering quitting the sport after the drama surrounding the reported swimming ‘love triangle’ between himself, former girlfriend Emma McKeon and her new beau Cody Simpson.

The drama made headlines when the 4×100 mixed relay team won gold on the opening night but the celebrations appeared tinged by awkwardness as McKeon and Chalmers did not shake hands after securing victory.

Speaking at a press conference in Birmingham, Chalmers threatened to quit swimming altogether if ‘false news’ continued to circulate that he was in a feud with McKeon and Simpson.

After taking gold in the 100m freestyle on Tuesday, Chalmers put his fingers to his lips in a gesture that suggested he was silencing his critics after taking gold.

He had also said there were moments he had felt like he ‘could not continue on’ and said he hoped his latest win was ‘a learning point for everybody’ – including the media.

Chalmers also rubbished reports of a rift in the team, saying after his last race at the Games he was ‘relieved’ it was now over.

‘There’s so many things to be grateful for: being part of the team, it’s special,’ he told Channel 7 after swimming the anchor leg for Australia in their 4x100m mixed medley.

‘And we are all so close and it’s been a very, very successful week in the pool for us and, hopefully, we’re able to celebrate a little bit tonight as a team and, obviously, we all depart tomorrow.’

A restaurant and coffee lounge called the Cosmopolitan is also pictured, but the most iconic set piece is arguably the legendary Porky’s strip club.

The club was previously featured in the TV series Underbelly: The Golden Mile and officially closed its doors for good in 2018, after 30 years.

The 10-part series will tell the story of brothers John and Sam Ibrahim, who were prominent figures in the Kings Cross nightclub district.

It may also explore key events in John’s life, including surviving a near fatal stabbing and other attempts on his life, with Lincoln Younes playing his role.

Sources close to the production say he was ‘very particular’ about the actor playing him but was impressed with Lincoln’s, 30, acting ability and his similarly dark complexion and light eyes.

Lithium mining companies to invest in to take advantage of Australia’s switch to renewable energy

Australian share market investors are set to benefit from putting their money into mining companies that specialize in the extraction of a key material needed for electric car batteries.

Australia’s lithium exports in the year to June surged by 737 per cent to $2.632billion. Exports of this mineral multiplied by eight times from $314million when the June quarter of 2022 was compared with the June quarter of 2021, new Australian Bureau of Statistics data showed.

Australia is also the world’s biggest exporter of lithium – accounting for 46 per cent of the world’s supply in 2020.

Like Australia, the US, UK, the European Union, Japan and South Korea are aiming for net zero carbon emissions by 2050 in a bid to address climate change.

Labor’s plan to reduce carbon emissions by 43 per cent by 2030 on Thursday passed the House of Representatives and Greens leader Adam Bandt has vowed his party will pass the legislation in the Senate.

This means demand is set to arise for lithium, a key component of electric vehicle and solar batteries that will be needed as Australia and much of the developed world reduces their reliance on petrol cars and coal-fired power stations.

Lithium is also a key component in mobile phones, laptops and cameras.

Exports of lithium concentrate, the powered material used to power batteries, in June hit a record-high $1.163billion, a massive 1,189 per cent increase compared with June 2021.

The value of these exports has multiplied almost 13 times from just $90million a year earlier.

Saxo Capital market strategist Jessica Amir said electric vehicle makers would increasingly need lithium, with Australian and American government subsidies set to turbocharge demand

Saxo Capital market strategist Jessica Amir said electric vehicle makers would increasingly need lithium, with Australian and American government subsidies set to turbocharge demand.

‘The means that they are going to continue to produce electric vehicles and the key components of electric vehicles, many of those are sourced in Australia,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘It just means that a baseline of support has been put under the lithium sector.

‘The focus is now reset on the lack of supply and rising demand.’

Western Australia has accounted for more than 99 per cent of Australian lithium exports, every month since January 2021, with the state already having a near monopoly on Australia’s iron ore exports.

Pilbara Minerals, Australia’s biggest lithium miner, in 2019 signed a deal with Chinese car maker Great Wall Motor to supply spodumene concentrate, a key mineral for electric vehicles.

Lake Resources: One of the world’s lowest-cost producers of lithium chemical producers

This Perth-based company owns all of the Pilgangoora Project and Operation, 120km from Port Hedland.

‘This is our biggest, by far, lithium exporter in Australia,’ Ms Amir said.

Its share price has soared from just 15.84 cents in March 2020 to peak at $3.20 in January 2022, before falling back to $2.29 in June and rising to its present level of $2.77.

But Ms Amir said it would be at least another year before Pilbara Minerals saw a meaningful rise in its share price, with investors holding off as the Reserve Bank kept raising interest rates.

‘Unlike other non-profitable lithium companies, Pilbara Minerals does have a robust balance sheet,’ she said.

‘The market thinking it is that it will potentially record revenue this year.

‘The market thinking is its revenue will likely double in 2023.’

Orocobre in April last year became the world’s fifth biggest lithium chemicals producer through a merger with Galaxy Resources.

This merger was officially rebranded in November 2021 as Allkem, with the Brisbane-based company mainly mining lithium in Argentina.

Exports of lithium concentrate, the powered material used to power batteries, in June hit a record-high $1.163billion, a massive 1,189 per cent increase compared with June 2021. The value of these exports has multiplied almost 13 times from just $90million a year earlier

Allkem’s share price has climbed from $2.03 in May 2020 to $14 in May, before slipping back to $11.55 on Friday, with historical Australian Securities Exchange data covering the price when the company was known as Orocobre.

‘Not only have they seen their balance sheet strengthen after buying Galaxy, but the lithium province in Argentina is still pumping out the highest grade of lithium than anywhere else in the world,’ Ms Amir said.

Lake Resources is another player, selling itself as one of the world’s lowest-cost producers of lithium chemical products.

The Sydney-based company also extracts much of its lithium from Argentina.

Its share price has risen from just seven cents in December 2020 to $2.31 as of April this year, before diving down to 61 cents in July and recovering to 92 cents as of August.

The resignation of former Lake Resources managing director Steve Promnitz in June had put pressure on the share price.

Ms Amir said Allkem and Lake Resources, despite being listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, were more focused on Argentina, which meant they were able to better capitalize on Tesla now making electric vehicles in Texas, at its Gigafactory plant.

Tesla also announced this week they would produce their own fuel cells.

‘It just means that Telsa is going to continue to see how they can get cheap access to lithium,’ Ms Amir said.

The word’s biggest carbon emitters are less ambitious with China vowing for a net zero by 2060 target while India has a 2070 deadline.

After a year of battling China’s politically-motivated trade sanctions, Australia has hoped on another trade horizon with exports to India more than doubling in the year to June, rising by 108 per cent.

Australia now has a $16.7billion annual trade surplus with India, up from $16.7billion a year earlier.

CommSec chief economist Craig James noted Australia’s exports to India are worth more than the combined exports of both the US and the UK.

But coal, a fossil fuel linked to climate change, is a key export to India.

Australia’s exports of iron ore to China, so they can make steel, underpinned the 54th successive monthly trade surplus in June.

In that month, Australia had a $17.67billion trade surplus.

During the 2021-22 financial year, Australia had a record $136.4billion annual trade surplus, up from $90billion a year earlier.

Hammer wore a blue ‘Florida State Parks’ t-shirt, khaki shorts and flip flops. He was in the same Florida tee the last time DailyMail.com caught up with him a couple weeks ago.

The actor was with his two youngsters walking their dog Archie, the same dog that left Hammer with stiches in his hand 2020. The doting dad could be seen chatting with his kids and watching over his son as he picked up after their dog.

He then took the children to meet up with Chambers, who appeared sporty in black biker shorts, a t-shirt and sneaker. The mom-of-two enjoyed a sushi dinner with her kids.

Hammer’s life was thrown into chaos last year after a number of women claimed that he had sexually abused them while fulfilling his kinks, which allegedly included rape and cannibalism fantasies.

Two women said he told them he wanted to remove their ribs, barbecue them and eat them, and one accused him of slicing the letter ‘A’ into one of her thighs before sucking the blood out of her fresh wound.

After the accusations were made public, the actor was dropped by his agency, WME, and was subsequently let go from various film projects, including Paramount Plus series The Offer, Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding, as well as the thriller Billion Dollar Spy.

He and Chambers had announced their split a few months before the allegations surfaced.

Hammer checked into a rehabilitation center to treat sex, drug and alcohol abuse, where he stayed from May through December 2021.

He had been laying low in the Cayman Islands after the rehab stint, supposedly staying with Chambers and their two children. Hammer returned from the Caymans after he was mobbed by media when photos showed him working as a timeshare salesman went viral.

DailyMail.com previously caught up with Chambers who confirmed Robert Downey Jr. had helped fund Hammer’s rehab stint and said ‘everybody needs help.’

“Everything is good,” Chambers said last month as she stepped out for dinner in Hollywood.

She declined to comment on whether Hammer had been selling timeshares while in the islands, and but insisted that he was happy.

‘I really couldn’t talk about that,’ she said, ‘But I think he’s happy and that’s good.’

Though Hammer and Chambers separated in 2020 after he allegedly cheated on her at least twice, she characterized him as ‘my best friend.’

Asked whether she felt her husband had healed since his scandal and rehab stint, she paused and said ‘I think everyone is always going through a process.’

As to any chance of rekindling their romance, Chambers only laughed.

In one post by Wilson, the actress can be seen holding hands with Agruma during their visit to Italy in mid-June.

Agruma has been equally liberal in her postings of their travels together over the last couple months, that was solidified by a photo of the couple with their mates as they were about to board a private plane.

And, of course, there were plenty of images that captured their more quieter moments together, including when they frolicked in the ocean water in Malibu on July 27 that she captioned: ‘Summer vibes @rebelwilson,’ along with wave and pink heart emojis.
