Two people escaped the burning wreckage of a small plane that crash-landed Tuesday afternoon on the 91 Freeway in Riverside County.
The single-engine Piper PA-32 flying to Corona Municipal Airport went down at about midday on the eastbound 91 Freeway in Corona and might have struck at least one vehicle, according to the Corona Fire Department. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire that erupted after the plane crash about 50 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
A small plane crashed on the 91 Freeway in Corona Aug. 9, 2022.
Two occupants of the single-engine airplane escaped uninjured, City News Service reported, citing the Corona Fire Department.
There were no reports of injuries to people on the ground. A pickup at the scene of the crash appeared to have sustained damage to a tail-light.
Driver Armando Ramirez said he was traveling from Santa Ana to visit family when he felt something strike the rear of his pickup. He said he felt very fortunate to avoid much worse.
Lanes were closed near the Buena Vista Avenue exit. Eastbound traffic came to a standstill after the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration for more information confirmed there were two people on board the plane and that the pilot reported an engine issue.
Netflix’s gaming initiative booted up in November 2021 and as of August 2022, there are 26 mobile games to dive into, but which ones are worth your time? We’ve picked out our top 5 favorite mobile games.
For the complete list of mobile games that we keep updated every month, check out our complete list here. In addition, keep an eye on our coming soon page for monthly previews of the upcoming games to the platform.
1. poinpy
Added toNetflix: June 2022
Netflix has many simplistic games, but the one with the charm to keep you coming back for more is poinpy which comes from the creator of Down Well.
The game is simple enough in practice, you swipe the screen to guide the little green fellow up the platforms and beat enemies.
Easy to play and hard to truly master is perhaps the best way to describe poinpy, however, as it becomes increasingly difficult and takes true skill to handle all the challenges thrown your way. With that said, it comes with a satisfying progression system that ultimately encourages short bursts of play and always makes you feel like you’re moving forward and getting better.
It’s one of Netflix’s best-reviewed games with a 4.2, with users also praising its pick-up-and-play addictive gameplay.
two. Shatter Remastered
Added toNetflix: March 2022
Originally released in the early 2010s, Shattera brick-breaker game, got and is getting the remaster treatment throughout 2022 in a PC and console release set for October 2022 and saw its Netflix debut in early 2022.
The game has you destroying blocks using your paddle but the unique aspect of this game is all the other mechanics the game unleashes on you as you progress, including being able to control gravity, power-ups, and more.
The visuals continue to be particularly stunning (the team remastered them from scratch), and the music is just as good as when the original was released.
Our biggest flu, unfortunately, comes down to the controls. Given the number of things the game demands you do to at any given time, controls can feel a bit clunky. It’s more apparent when you’re required to make very precise movements which aren’t always easy on a touch screen.
3. Wonderputt Forever
Added toNetflix: October 2021
This is another game where simplicity is absolutely key as to why it grows on you so quickly. We’re all familiar with miniature golf, right? Get your ball into the cup in as few moves as possible. That’s the premise here, but there’s plenty more that the game has to offer, making it a compelling download.
The environments are easily the best thing about the game. One minute you’re playing in a circus arena, another in an underwater station, another in a zoo and another in a swimming pool setting. Each location presents its own set of challenges but more importantly, most are visually gorgeous.
Controls are simple, and given the game’s progression system, it’s easy to pick up and play when you have a few minutes of downtime.
Four. Into the Breach
Added toNetflix: May 2022
One of the many ports of PC games to mobile exclusively for Netflix is Into The Breach, which is by far one of the most in-depth games of any of its current lineup. The premise is simple up front, you control a team of mechs trying to save the world from invaders in a turn-based strategy format.
We’re pleased to report it has been gracefully ported over to mobile, retaining the same visual style that made it so appealing in the first place. The controls are also well done and intuitive despite having many different options at any time.
In addition, the Netflix version of the game comes with content unavailable elsewhere.
While I’d still suggest playing this on a PC over a mobile, if you’re looking for a deep strategy game, then Into the Breach is for you.
5. Asphalt Xtreme
Added toNetflix: December 2021
If you fancy putting your mobile device through the ringer, Asphalt Xtreme is certainly the game to do that.
The aged 3D racer features some great visuals for your mobile device. The game has you charging through canyons, drifting across dunes, and rocketing past your opponents in an unrivaled off-road racing experience.
As you may know, Netflix made this game exclusive to its lineup after beginning its life on Google Play and iOS.
The game is also a great example of the advantages and disadvantages of Netflix’s current gaming vision. Yes, there are no advertisements or microtransactions, but on the flip side, that means some of the game’s progression feels archaic, given they had to re-engineer a lot of the old systems out of the game.
Despite this, it’s a great racer and ultimately enhanced by Netflix’s gaming model.

Bea, the upmarket restaurant in the multi-level Barangaroo House, will close on August 14.
But in good news for Barangaroo regulars, a succession plan for the space is already in place. Co-owner Matt Moran has revealed that Bea’s replacement, Rekodo Restaurant + Vinyl Bar (inspired by Japanese vinyl-spinning “listening rooms”) will open mid-September.
Bea opened in late 2017 with a big-name chef (Cory Campbell, ex-Vue de Monde and Noma) in charge of the kitchen. Tweaks and chef changes followed before the decision was made to rebrand the space.
Bea at Barangaroo House will make way for a Japanese-inspired restaurant-bar. Photo: Wolter Peeters
Moran says after nearly five years operating the sprawling Barangaroo House, they have a good read of the area and believe Rekodo fills a need.
“The crowd down here has changed, even since we opened,” he says. “Rekodo will be fun, with large tables but still serious about its food.”
He adds the menu will offer more dishes than Bea, giving customers greater flexibility about how much they eat and spend.
While the refit will include a Klipsch La Scala sound system, much of the reinvigoration will be driven by chef Paddy McDermott, who worked out of Hong Kong and whom Moran credits with having an enviable knowledge of Japanese food.
While listening rooms are typically bars in Japan, Moran says Rekodo will be more of a “restaurant-bar” – one that includes its own DJ.
This is becoming a joke now. Someone is having a lend. The fix is in, surely. Collingwood wasn’t supposed to be this good. They were supposed to be eating humble pie. They were supposed to be resetting. They started the season as a curiosity. They’re now a legitimate premiership contender. In so many ways, they don’t make sense. Their stats don’t make sense. Their percentage doesn’t make sense. All you can do is suspend your disbelief, and simply enjoy them.
It was all so different last year. At times, watching them play was like undergoing root canal work. Their president of more than two decades finally stepped down. His replacement lasted six months. The coach, a champion of the game, was let go. They’d completely botched the trade period. The head of football, list manager, several assistants, and a number of board members were all gone. Their most important player was arrested in his dressing gown. The club was in disarray, and facing its biggest fear – irrelevance.
But with apologies to Rudyard Kipling (and Ross Lyon), it’s never as good and never as bad as you think. In Craig McRae, they had a cool head, a fresh start, and some clean air. McRae has always seen himself as a career coach. He’s played and coached at Brisbane, Richmond, Hawthorn, even at Melbourne Storm – all successful clubs. There’s a lot of Leigh Matthews in him. He’s process driven, even tempered, and not a man to get caught up in the noise. One of his players said on Friday that the atmosphere around Collingwood is like a country footy team. A weight has lifted.
An hour before the Western Bulldogs game in May, fans were greeted with a three-word notification: ‘Late out – Pendlebury’. They were unmoored that night, and the Dogs were in a mood. But the Pies haven’t lost since. On Friday night, they faced their biggest test: Melbourne, the reigning premiers. The Demons’ Ed Langdon – mixing his metaphors and pushing his luck, suggested the Magpies were all duck, no dinner, and a “one trick pony”. But they won again. Walking away from the MCG, the prevailing question was once again was: How on earth does this side keep winning?
For many, it comes down to effort. A common trope in football analysis is that the losing team didn’t bring the required effort. You could buy a parrot, organize accreditation, train it to chirp ‘where was the effort? what do theand stand for? and what’s in their DNA?’ and the bird would be bigger than Howard Cosell by the next trade period. Granted, there is something maniacal about this Collingwood side. Three of Jamie Elliott’s four goals came from chase-down tackles. Their fierce pressure was personified when Braydon Maynard nearly disembowelled Alex Neal-Bullen in the final term.
But there’s also some very smart footballers in there, some masters of managing time and space. The way the Magpies changed lanes and angles negated the influence of Steven May and Jake Lever. And for a team that’s built on rolling the dice and attacking through the corridor, they also know when to slow down, bottle up and neutralize. On Friday, for five excruciating minutes, up against one of the best ruck and on-ball combinations in football, the ball barely left a 30-meter radius.
Collingwood are also completely unfazed when things don’t go their way. They’ve done a lot of work with the club psychologists on embracing the chaos of the game. It’s exactly what Richmond were doing in 2017, when McRae and Justin Leppitsch were both prominent. Embracing vulnerability, as opposed to ‘power stances’ and being rated by your teammates, would appear to bring out the best in young athletes.
The career of Mason Cox is a textbook study in embracing imperfection. He has brought so much to Collingwood, and to the competition. Sometimes, when he’s flopping and floundering about, he can resemble a freestyler in a bathtub. But when he’s in his flow state, he’s more than a novelty, more than a ‘great story’. He can sink your season. For coaches, for ruckmen, and for defenders, Cox is incredibly hard to counter because he doesn’t play like anyone else. He drifts and ambles about, stoops over, reaches up, dinks it sideways. He grows into games. You can sense the helplessness and bewilderment in his opponents of him – ‘I’m being toweled by a Texan engineering student in swimming googles!’
The events of the past week didn’t exactly paint football in its best light. It wasn’t a good week for the governing body, and for the association that’s supposed to look after its players. But the return of Ben Cunnington, the farewell to Josh Kennedy and the extraordinary Collingwood win were reminders of the sport at its best. “This group’s got some belief, doesn’t it?”, McRae said on Friday night. Over on Fox Footy, Nathan Buckley insisted that we’ve underestimated Collingwood all along, and that this win was five years in the making. His former assistant Brenton Sanderson said there was a “beautiful mystique” to them.
In the stands, the Collingwood army was loud. In previous years – when crowds were allowed – there was a sullen din at Collingwood games. They really weren’t much fun to watch. Friday felt like a Preliminary Final crowd. They sang that song with gusto. They sang it like they couldn’t quite believe their luck. This song, every one of them would have told you on Friday night, will never end.
WAUKESHA – Tim Michels emerged from a four-way primary Tuesday with the Republican nomination for governor, easily prevailing against former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch in a three-month sprint of a campaign during which the construction executive spent $10 million of his own money and earned the backing of former President Donald Trump.
Republican voters in Wisconsin rejected the establishment of their party for the last decade by backing a candidate for governor who said he would consider overturning the results of the last presidential election over Scott Walker’s lieutenant who had the backing of the most prominent business and law enforcement groups .
Michels, co-owner of the state’s largest construction company Michels Corp., defeated his opponents a day after federal agents raided Trump’s Florida resort — an investigation Michels called on his supporters to use as a reason to get to the polls.
In a victory speech to supporters in Waukesha, Michels thanked Trump for his support, comparing the two as businessmen who didn’t need to run for office but wanted to “drain the swamp” of long-time politicians.
“He knows that we need to have new leadership in Madison, and he sees a lot of similarities,” Michels, 60, said. “He wanted to drain the swamp and we found out it’s a really big swamp.”
Michels will face Democratic incumbent Gov. Tony Evers in November. Evers will officially launch his campaign Wednesday morning in Madison.
To supporters on Tuesday, Michels said he would keep “hardworking taxpayers” in mind and vowed to work with Democrats, including Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and County Executive David Crowley, to accomplish goals to improve the state without comprising “my conservative principles.”
“They’ve been left behind by the Democratic Party, which just wants to focus on the social issues,” Michels said of voters.
Michels has called for abolishing the Wisconsin Elections Commission and replacing it with a state elections board with members from all eight congressional districts, leaving open the door to a board controlled by Republicans given the makeup of the state’s congressional map. He also has said he will expand private school vouchers and provide incentives to attract more police officers.
In a concession speech at an event in Oconomowoc, Kleefisch urged supporters to get behind Michels despite the bitter primary fight with Michels that involved even her daughter’s homecoming photo.
“The fight now is truly against Tony Evers, and the liberals who want to take away our way of life,” Kleefisch said from her campaign gathering.

Michels and Kleefisch were locked in an effectively tied race in the final weeks of their campaigns, with the latest poll showing them within less than one percentage point of each other. Ultimately, about 5% separated the two in the final result.
Despite Kleefisch’s more than 12-year political history and endorsements from key groups like the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Tavern League of Wisconsin and law enforcement advocates, prominent Republicans like former Vice President Mike Pence and former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Kleefisch had a hard time connecting with anti-establishment Republicans that have secured the party’s base.

She also didn’t secure her party’s endorsement in May, receiving 55% of delegates’ votes at the party convention, just shy of the 60% threshold required under party rules to receive an endorsement.
Evers’ campaign manager Cassi Fenili called Michels an extreme choice for Republicans.
“After a scorched earth primary that’s seen constant attacks and a dizzying race to the radical right, the Republican Party has chosen the most extreme and divisive nominee possible, one that will tell Donald Trump anything just to keep his endorsement,” Fenili said in a statement.
“From abortion and voting rights, to gun safety and public education — Tim Michels has staked out the most extreme positions possible, with the goal of dividing our state and pitting neighbors against one another.”
State Rep. Sara Rodriguez, a Democrat who represents a suburban Milwaukee Assembly district, will join Evers on the Democratic ticket after prevailing in her primary race for lieutenant governor. State Sen. Roger Roth, R-Appleton, will join Michels as his running mate.

A federal judge has denied a request by three LIV Golf Series players, including Australian Matt Jones, for a temporary restraining order allowing them to play in this week’s $US75m PGA Tour FedEx Cup playoffs.
US District Court Judge Beth Labson Freeman made the ruling after a hearing at San Jose on the lawsuit filed in the Northern District of California. The news came on a dramatic day in which Aussie world No.2 Cameron Smith was reported to have signed on for the Greg Norman-led rebel tour.
Jones and Americans Talor Gooch and Hudson Swafford had sought the chance to compete in the FedEx Cup playoff opener, the St. Jude’s Championship, that begins Thursday in Memphis.

All three were among those suspended by the PGA Tour after they teed off in their first event of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Series in June. The ruling upheld that ban.
“We’re disappointed that Talor Gooch, Hudson Swafford and Matt Jones won’t be allowed to play golf,” LIV Golf said in a statement. “No one gains by banning golfers from playing.” Gooch was ranked 20th in FedEx Cup points with Jones 65th and Swafford 67th. The top 125 players in season points qualified for Memphis with 70 players advancing to next week’s BMW Championship and the top 30 reaching the season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Had they been able to play and reached the Tour Championship, the trio would have earned berths in next year’s Masters and US and British Opens.
But LIV Golf players could not show irreparable harm since they will be allowed to play LIV Golf events when those resume next month in Boston.
While LIV Golf players claim they are independent contractors, the PGA Tour argued they were members and the tour can punish members who violate rules, such as playing in LIV events.

“With today’s news, our players, fans and partners can now focus on what really matters over the next three weeks, the best players in the world competing in the FedEx Cup playoffs,” PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said in a memo obtained by The GolfChannel.
LIV Golf has lured away such top stars as Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson with guaranteed money and record purses of $25 million at events.
Jones, Gooch and Swafford were among 11 LIV Golf players who filed an anti-trust lawsuit against the PGA Tour.
Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz, who had been among the 11 players in the lawsuit, has dropped out of the case, his manager said.
Some players at Memphis warned of a frosty reception for LIV golfers had they been allowed to tee off after departing for richer prize money as well as trying to knock PGA players out of their own playoffs.
“Going to be a pretty icy Thursday morning if those guys play,” 2009 US Open champion Lucas Glover told The Golf Channel. “They want their cake and eat it too.”
A federal tax break that’s available to car buyers for going electric may work differently starting next year.
Under the Inflation Reduction Act — which received Senate approval on Sunday and is expected to clear the House this week — a tax credit worth up to $7,500 for buyers of new all-electric cars and hybrid plug-ins would be extended through 2032. The bill would also create a separate tax credit worth a maximum $4,000 for used versions of these vehicles.
Yet the measure would also usher in new limits to both who can qualify for the credit and which vehicles are eligible for it.
The tax credit has ‘price and income restrictions’
“First, in order to qualify, there are price and income restrictions,” said Seth Goldstein, a senior equity analyst at Morningstar.
For new vehicles, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price for sedans would need to be below $55,000 to be eligible for the tax credit. For SUVs, trucks and vans, that price cap would be $80,000.
Additionally, the credit would be unavailable to single tax filers with modified adjusted gross income above $150,000. For married couples filing jointly, that income limit would be $300,000, and for individuals who file as head of household, $225,000.
“What we’ve seen is that many [electric vehicles] are luxury cars,” Goldstein said. “And buyers of those are in higher income brackets, so that limits right away the ability to qualify for the tax credit.”
For used electric vehicles to qualify, the car would need to be at least two model years old, among other restrictions. The credit would be worth either $4,000 or 30% of the car’s price — whichever is less — and the price cap would be $25,000.
Those purchases also would come with income caps: Individual tax filers with income above $75,000 would be ineligible for the credit. That cap would be $150,000 for joint filers and $112,500 for heads of household.
More from Personal Finance: How to know if you’re affected by Equifax credit score errors 30 companies that help employees pay off their student loans Climate change is making some homes too costly to insure
Another determining factor for whether a vehicle would qualify for a full or partial credit (or neither) include a requirement that the final assembly of the car would need to be in North America. Additional qualifiers include limitations on where key materials for batteries can come from and a mandate that a specified portion of battery components must be manufactured or assembled in North America.
“It’s designed to encourage domestic production in North America,” said Scott Cockerham, an attorney and partner at Orrick.
Many electric vehicles may not qualify for the credit
However, it could be difficult for cars to qualify, he said, depending on where they source their materials and where they complete the manufacturing process. The Alliance for Automotive Innovation has warned that many electric vehicles will be ineligible for the credit right off the bat.
Additionally, another change in the legislation would allow a car buyer who qualifies for the tax credit to transfer it to the dealership, which could then lower the price of the car.
Meanwhile, another modification included in the bill is good news for some electric vehicle manufacturers.
Basically, the existing $7,500 credit was authorized in 2008 and 2009 legislation with the intention of spurring adoption of electric cars. Part of that included a phase-out of the tax credit once a manufacturer reached 200,000 of the vehicles sold.
Tesla hit that threshold in 2018, which means their electric cars currently do not qualify for the tax credit. General Motors is in the same position. Toyota (including its Lexus brand) also has now crossed that threshold, and its electric cars are scheduled to be ineligible for the tax credit after a phaseout of it ends in September 2023.
The congressional measure would eliminate that 200,000 sales cap, making their electric cars again eligible for the credit — at least based on that sales-threshold removal.
Yamaha, more known for its motorcycles and musical instruments, is updating its true wireless earbuds offering. The new TW-E7B in-ear headphones are now available in the US. These wireless earbuds bring advanced proprietary noise canceling technology along with dramatic design update over the TW-E7A.
TL;DR
Yamaha’s new TW-E7B earbuds boast large audio drivers and the newer Bluetooth 5.2.
The TW-E7B headphones come with physical keys for controls.
These earbuds are available in dark blue, black, beige, and white for $280 price.
The Yamaha TW-E7B headphones pick up the company’s custom ANC technology that were present on its predecessor. Unlike most in-ear headphones that produce suppressed audio when filtering out noises, Yamaha claims its technology only outputs untouched music signals, thus creating better sound. Yamaha doubles it down by enabling the Listening Care feature that intelligently balances the music volume with the aid of these ANC microphones.
Yamaha’s TW-E7B are IPX5 water resistance and come with circular and larger bud shaped as opposed to the rounded shape of the older earbuds. What’s new also is the physical volume locker present on the right side paired with a single function key on the left. Gamers can also take advantage of the low latency mode that you can be accessed through three presses on the lower volume key. Moreover, the latest buds now utilize large 10mm sound drivers.
In terms of audio codecs, Yamaha has kept the aptX Adaptive along with AAC and SBC. However, the TW-E7B wireless earbuds now use newer Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and Google’s fast pair mode. Both Siri and Google Assistant voice command features are supported while equalizer presets are available through the Yamaha mobile app.
Battery life and pricing of Yamaha TW-E7B
Battery life on the in-ear noise canceling earbuds is a downgrade from the TW-E7A. The new battery rating is only 22 hours using the charging, which is 6 hours shorter than the original.
Yamaha has listed the TW-E7B for price of $280 with color options of beige, dark blue, black, and white. You can already order the earbuds through Amazon. We will yet find out if Yamaha will release the TW-E7B on other markets. On the other hand, the non-ANC TW-E5B model is $20 cheaper from Amazon.
