NVIDIA Reportedly Assists Its AIBs With Ampere Stock Through Price Drops To Make Room For RTX 40 GPUs

Graphics card prices have declined since the beginning of the crash in crypto mining. While it could be attributed to price drops and availability, add-in-board (AIB) companies are still left with large overstocks of existing Ampere “GeForce RTX 30” GPUs in inventory. NVIDIA is now rumored to be assisting its AIB sellers in moving leftover NVIDIA Ampere quantities to make room for the next-gen RTX 40 lineup, reports Moore’s Law is Dead.

NVIDIA reportedly assisting AIBs in efficiently removing overstock of RTX 30 series to make room for RTX 40 series GPUs

According to Tom, NVIDIA made significant steps to find a resolution for the overstocked supply of the company’s RTX 30 series cards in partner’s stocks. The YouTuber explains in the video below how NVIDIA plans to help its partners further.

In the video, Tom states, “NVIDIA has directly stepped in to help AIBs clear their reserve stockpiles of GA 102 in exchange for big pre-purchases of Enthusiast Lovelace.” The YouTuber observed this information from his insiders in the field. He continues to state that even with NVIDIA’s assistance, several months will pass before any company can clear their premium GA102 (RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 GPUs) inventory. AIBs will be left “on their own” to take care of graphics card stocks consisting of low-end and mid-range GPUs, such as the RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 3070.

The company’s overstock plans to assist AIBs to appear successful, with one of the sources commenting, “The channel is already starting to run dry of RTX 3090s, and the RTX 3090 Ti is starting to show signs of depleting stock as well.”

AMD and NVIDIA are expected to aggressively act towards the end of August if there are still large enough quantities to show concern. It is suggested that graphics card prices will continue to drop past the end of this month and are expected to grow again in September. NVIDIA may lower the costs even more, but AMD is anticipating leaving the market to keep pricing regular.

AMD and NVIDIA will release the next-gen graphics cards over the next several months, which may hurt the marketplace. One thing is sure: right now is the best time to begin shopping around for a replacement or upgradeable option for a newer graphics card for your personal or business systems.

Relationship stories: My partner is behaving like a teenager

There comes a time in a man’s life when he wants to try and recapture aspects of his youth, and in the case of my partner Tom it has come now – at the age of 35.

He is really acting out some of the worst moments of his teenage years and I don’t know what to do with him. He goes out drinking with his work buddies on a Friday night and I am never invited. He wakes up the next morning with a shocking hangover and it happens every week without fail.

A few weeks ago, he was throwing up all over the bathroom floor after one of his Friday night “boys’ nights” – but I wonder if it’s just his friends or whether there are women too. He often reeks of women’s perfume and laughs it off by telling me he was in a crowded pub. Not exactly COVID-safe, but I’d say Tom doesn’t really care about anyone but himself.

Our daughters think their dad is adorable and funny but they don’t know what he puts me through. My mother said it’s a practice run for me for when I really do have teenagers in the house.

He called me recently around 2am, saying he needed me to pick him up. His mates from him had left him alone, he was drunk and could n’t find his wallet from him, and he clearly was too drunk to realize his bank card from him was on his phone from him, so he demanded I pick him up .

This was not ideal for me as it was the night before I had a big presentation at work. Let’s just say I was not impressed.

The next day he tells me he had no memory of even calling me, so that’s how drunk he was. I’ve read him the “riot act” so many times and it goes in one ear, out the other.

I’m really losing patience with him. I do love him very much but I deserve better than a man who still acts like a big kid.

I’ve told him he’s not setting a good example for our children and he agrees. He promises to stop partying so much, but then weeks later he will be out again behaving like a teenager. He even got into a fist fight with a work colleague who was also off his face at the time. I’ve had enough!

I spoke to a wise friend of mine who said I need to give Tom an ultimatum: either he shows up as a committed husband and father and quits the drinking and big social life, or he leaves.

I don’t think I want to be that harsh, but I do need to let him know that I can’t cope with the endless worry about him. What if he gets into a fight when he’s drunk and there are serious injuries? I get into a panic when I wake up early on a Saturday morning and he isn’t in bed with me. This isn’t something I should be going through when I’m already so stressed juggling work and two kids.

Sound Waves Let Researchers Build Stuff With the Force

What does the future of construction look like? Autonomous machines buzzing around a building site? Giant 3D printers extruding walls and floors? Looking forward even farther, researchers at the Public University of Navarre in Spain have been experimenting with using sound waves to make building materials simply float into position without any physical interaction required.

Although still apart from many fantasy flicks and magicians’ routines, levitation is no longer just an illusion. Researchers have been experimenting with using ultrasonic sound waves—well past the threshold of human hearing—to make objects float for quite a few years now. Sound waves generated by ultrasonic transducers have now lifted everything from two-inch styrofoam balls to a grid of tiny particles. Even irregularly-shaped objects have been made to float, but to date the technology has seen limited real-world applications.

Researchers from the Public University of Navarre’s UpnaLab and the University of São Paulo, in Brazil, propose the use of acoustic levitation as a way to complement the rapid additive manufacturing techniques many industries now rely on, from amateur hardware hackers to aerospace engineers. The team created an acoustic levitator that can generate acoustic fields capable of trapping and holding elongated objects like sticks and other materials, and then attached it to a robot arm that allows these objects to be accurately positioned and assembled onto a larger structure without any physical contact .

Even more impressive is that the levitator isn’t limited to just manipulating solid objects. It can also pick up liquids and even materials like glues or resins, which are then used to bond components together. In a video demonstrating its capabilities, the levitator applies drops of an adhesive to a simple matchstick structure, which can be instantly hardened with a quick blast of ultraviolet light.

In its current form, the researchers’ machine can’t be used to construct a building. Its lifting capabilities are still limited to small, lightweight objects like wooden matchsticks. But that doesn’t mean it’s useless until it can be scaled up to handle larger projects.

Building the incredibly small or detailed components that go into electronics or other devices often comes with its own challenges, including developing machines that can safely handle small and extremely fragile parts. That’s where this acoustical manipulator could be immediately useful. And because there’s no physical contact made with the material being handled, acoustic levitation could be particularly useful for handling hot materials that pose a risk of damage through physical contact, or even bio-materials, as the sound waves pose no risk of cross-contamination .

The researchers even demonstrated situations where their acoustic levitator can move and reposition parts behind barriers or inside existing structures: something impossible for 3D printers and very tricky for physical manipulators, depending on where a part needs to end up.

You can read more about LeviPrint in the researchers’ recently-published paper, which was presented at the Siggraph 2022 conference which just recently wrapped up in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Why the carnivore diet is popular right now

“Think like a plant,” Paul Saladino, known to the internet as Carnivore MD, tells me from the confines of a YouTube video.

He’s trying, as he often does, to convince the world that vegetables are probably not good for us, and a diet consisting almost completely of meat is the best way to “thrive.”

“If we think about this intuitively, high level, without getting into the science… plants are going to put all their defense chemicals in those parts of the plant” Saladino says.

It’s one of his few video posts in which he wears a shirt. In fact, it’s a habit amongst carnivore influencers to appear shirtless, barefoot, and generally as closely resembling “our ancestors” as possible.

Another influencer, known as Liver King, addressing his followers as “primals”, roars to the camera about the merits of going shoeless.

loading

“You get connected, anchored to the earth, [because] why would you ever let your environment dominate you?” Liver King says.

Content like this is the most extreme expression of carnivore culture online. Many of these influencers have monetized their social media presence and sell their own nutritional supplements.

‘This will be Mars one day,’ Elon Musk shares photo of spacecraft launch

SpaceX founder Elon Musk has made no secret of his plans to send humans to Mars by 2050. The tech titan has talked about his dream to make a human colony on the Red planet. In his latest post, Musk envisioned the day when a rocket successfully lands on the Martian surface. The billionaire shared a picture of a spacecraft and caption it, “This will be Mars one day.”

The rocket in the picture is SpaceX’s Starship project–a reusable rocket system on which the company is currently working at.

Last month, the SpaceX CEO wrote, “Mars may be a fixer-upper of a planet, but it has great potential.”

A Twitter user asked Musk about the estimated timeframe for human civilization on Marsh. Musk responded by saying, “20 to 30 years from first human landing if launch rate growth is exponential.”

Yesterday, Elon Musk’s SpaceX won certification from the Pentagon’s Space Force to use recyclable boosters on its Falcon Heavy rocket to launch top-secret spy satellites.

The certification for SpaceX — which was issued in June but not previously disclosed — allows the recyclable first-stage side boosters to be used in sensitive national security launches requiring power performance beyond that of the company’s original Falcon 9. The Space Force found that the “recovery, refurbishment, and launch of SpaceX boosters utilizes well-established processes,” the service said in a statement.

The first classified National Security Space Launch mission using a Falcon Heavy with refurbished boosters is scheduled for sometime from October to December, according to the Space Force. It’s a mission to launch a satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office, which develops and manages spy satellites, according to a previous Space Force statement.

SpaceX has launched more than 100 missions using the Falcon 9 with reusable boosters, most of them commercial.

The reuse of previously flown boosters on Falcon 9 missions has “saved the US Space Force more than $64 million for GPS III missions and avoided additional costs for requirements changes while adding manifest flexibility for both the launch provider and our warfighters,” Walter Lauderdale, chief of the Falcon Division within the Space Systems Command’s “Assured Access to Space” organization, said in a statement.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline: What happened?

In a recent interview, Federline made some major claims.

I have told the Daily Mail that Spears hadn’t seen her two sons in months.

“The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,” he told the publication. “It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her from her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding from her.”

He also went on to say that Spears’ father, Jamie, “saved” her life by controlling her financials.

“I saw this man that really cared, and really cares about his family and wanting everything to be OK,” he explained. “When Jamie took over, things got into order. I saved her life from her.”

Federline also explained that their two children have struggled with the details of the conservatorship.

“They’ve had a lot of questions about it,” he said. “I don’t know that I can answer all of them for them but I just tried to explain to them that your mom needed help, you know, and the people were in play to try to make that happen, to make it better. “

He added: “This whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else. It’s been tough. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.”

Spears’ nude photos, claims Federline, has been an issue for their two sons.

Listen to The Spill, Mamamia’s daily entertainment podcast. Post continues after audio.

“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them.

Manase Fainu, Manly NRL player who stabbed church youth leader, to remain on bail

Manly Sea Eagles NRL player Manase Fainu will remain on bail over the weekend after being found guilty of stabbing a church youth leader in a brawl outside a Sydney dance.

The 24-year-old pleaded not guilty to wounding Faamanu Levi with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at Wattle Grove late at night on October 25, 2019.

In his evidence to the Parramatta District Court jury, he denied being the stabber saying when he heard “knife knife” he ran away scared for his own safety.

But the jurors took just over two hours to return a guilty verdict on Thursday afternoon, prompting prosecutor Emma Curran to apply for immediate detention.

Judge Nanette Williams adjourned the application until Monday because of the late hour and because Friday’s industrial strike by prison officers would mean he could not be taken into custody if she so ruled.

Fainu’s barrister, Margaret Cunneen SC, opposed the application saying he had not breached any bail conditions over the last three years.

“This obviously will be appealed as a perverse verdict in view of the evidence,” she said.

Noting it would be surprising if full-time custody was not imposed, the judge ordered Fainu to report to police daily, live with his parents and not leave the address without one of them, and not contact any witnesses.

Tony Quach testified to seeing Fainu plunge a steak knife into the back of Mr Levi in the car park brawl, referring to him looking angry and wearing a sling.

The jury was told the footballer had recently undergone shoulder surgery and had his arm in a sling that evening.

The stabbing occurred after an earlier fight on the dancefloor of the alcohol-free charity event organized by the Church of the Latter Day Saints.

Ms Cunneen had submitted that in the heat of the moment, with the darkness, chaos and speed of it unfolding, the jury could not be certain who stabbed Mr Levi.

But they could be certain the NRL hooker, never before in trouble for any violence, did not, she said.

The jurors were told Fainu and his friend Uona Faingaa were involved in the dancefloor fight and ushered outside by Mr Levi who told them not to fight on church grounds.

CCTV footage showed Fainu with a white towel draped over his head and his four friends jumping back over a fence and into a car park where the brawl occurred with Mr Levi.

Ms Curran contended that when things looked like they were getting out of hand, Fainu pulled out the knife and plunged it into Mr Levi’s back.

“Not content with having stabbed him once … [Fainu] moved around to the front of Mr Levi and swung the knife upwards towards [his] face cutting him across the eyebrow,” Ms Curran said.

“Then he ran back to the car.”

Another witness involved in the brawl told the court that he saw a male in a sling approach his brother holding a knife.

“The accused was the only person in a sling. And a sling is quite a distinctive feature,” Ms Curran said.

She argued that Fainu was an unimpressive and evasive witness who gave contradictory and occasionally fanciful answers.

She asked the jury to reject such evidence including his reason for scaling a three-metre tall brick fence to get back onto the church grounds, rather than entering through the front gate, because “it was easier”.

He told the jury the white towel draped over his head was a “security blanket” doused in cold water because he had a headache, not to hide his identity.

Fainu also denied holding, seeing, or knowing of a weapon being brought that evening.

He was stood down under the NRL’s no-fault policy when charged in late October 2019.

Fainu played 34 NRL matches across the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Alice James details how she met her now-boyfriend after her ‘wingman’ dad set them up at a pub

A young woman has detailed how she met her now-boyfriend the old-fashioned way – after her “wingman” dad spontaneously set them up at a pub.

Alice James, a television publicist from Melbourne, made the decision to quit dating apps in early June after she was fed up with the dating scene.

“I just wasn’t having fun, I was feeling like crap, it was taking its toll and I just thought, I’m just going to take the pressure off for a while,” she said in a now-viral TikTok video.

Just three weeks later, the 30-year-old was enjoying a casual night out with her dad at the pub when they spotted an attractive stranger sitting at the bar.

“Fast forward, I was sitting at the local pub with my dad, we were just having a drink, talking s***, as you do with your dad,” Alice recalled.

“And he’s like, ‘I don’t know if you’ve noticed but there’s a real hottie sitting at the bar.’

“I’m like, ‘I know dad, I clocked him when I walked in, he’s a total spunk’.

“Dad’s like, ‘Oh, leave it with me’.”

Stepping in as the “ultimate wingman”, the matchmaking dad wandered over to the man.

“They started chatting about footy and all that stuff and then dad’s like, ‘Hey are you single?’ And the dude is like, ‘Yes I am’, and dad’s like, ‘Well… she’s my daughter, she’s single too’, ”she said.

exchanged numbers

“Anyway we all start chatting and then he’s like, ‘I’ve got to go’ and dad’s like, ‘You can’t leave, you haven’t exchanged numbers’.”

Alice said her dad then walked over to the bar to grab a notepad and pen.

“We both exchanged numbers… and then we’ve been talking,” she said.

“Now we have a date.”

“But I’m trying to be chill and take it one day as it comes.

She added: “Good work dad… Dad did real good.”

“Hey dad, remember when we went out to a local pub and you were my wingman and you got a guy’s phone number for me?” she asked, as her dad said “yes”.

“Well last night, he asked me to be his girlfriend.”

‘He’s now my boyfriend’

In another video, Alice said her boyfriend did something that left her “too stunned to speak”.

“So I was driving my boyfriend to pick up his car and he was sitting in the passenger seat. He’d bought us blueberries for breakfast and so he started giving me blueberries to eat as I’m driving,” she recalled.

Alice said she and her date hit it off and they are now in a relationship. Credit: Alice James

“Then I look at him and noticed he’s sorting through the blueberries and I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ and he was like, ‘I’m just picking out the ones that are juicy and not bruised to give to you and I’m eating the bad ones.

Amazed with his gesture, Alice urged: “Girls, do not settle, there’s good ones out there.”

‘Can your dad wingman me?’

Her original video has been viewed more than 1.3 million times – with many praising her dad as “the best wingman ever”.

“My dad would never, can I borrow yours please?” one joked.

Another said: “Wow! Can your dad please come wingman for me?”

While one added: “If your dad can find you this gem then surely my dad can find me mine.”

Microsoft’s New Azure Fluid Transition Service Is Generally Available

Just lately, Microsoft introduced the overall availability (GA) of its Azure Fluid Relay service. This managed cloud providing allows internet builders to make use of the Fluid Framework to construct enterprise-grade collaborative purposes.

Azure Fuel Relay service is constructed on WebSockets, a full duplex communication channel powered by trendy internet browsers. Introduced at Microsoft’s Construct developer convention in 2019, the innovation in Fluid Framework is that it helps distributed and synchronized shared state – thus simplifying the creation of a collaborative utility. At present, the one supported language for the Fluid Framework is TypeScript or JavaScript.

Builders can set up and run their purposes with Azure Fluid Relay by offering the Azure Fluid Relay service of their Azure account and configuring the Azure-client SDK package deal to attach their purposes to the Azure Fluid Relay occasion.

Supply: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/microsoft365dev/announcing-general-availability-of-azure-fluid-relay-service/

azure consumer package deal azureclient class that allows builders to work together with Fluid. The category comprises the logic for connecting the Fluid container to the service. Additionally, builders have to replace their app’s configuration to connect with the Azure service with the proper configuration values.

import { AzureClient, AzureConnectionConfig } from "@fluidframework/azure-client";

const clientProps = {

const azureClient = new AzureClient(clientProps);

Note that Microsoft additionally affords WebSocket-based companies with Azure Net PubSub, a totally managed service that helps native and serverless WebSockets, and Azure SignalR, which permits builders so as to add real-time internet performance for purposes. Second, it’s not designed to summarize distributed state in the identical manner as Azure Fluid Relay. Additionally, with Azure Net PubSub just like SignalR, builders can carry their very own WebSocket libraries with out consumer or protocol necessities.

In a Microsoft Developer weblog publish, Mathangi Chakrapani and Pranshu Playingeach senior product advertising executives at Microsoft wrote:

The service allows builders to construct and deploy enterprise-ready collaboration purposes that carry out at industry-leading pace and scale. Azure Fluid Migration takes care of all the small print of Fluid collaboration, whereas as builders focus your consideration in your utility and finish consumer expertise.
