Phones banned from Chris Rock Australian tour

People planning to attend one of American comedian Chris Rock’s upcoming shows must abide by a strict set of rules or prepare to be “immediately ejected”.

The threat has raised eyebrows online ahead of the beginning of his Australian tour next week, with ticketholders given firm orders surrounding the event’s phone-free policy.

Holders of tickets, which cost between $134.85 and $217.05, have been told “no mobile phones, smart watches, cameras or recording devices will be allowed at the venue”.

Anyone who dares bring their phone into the venue can expect to be swiftly booted, the Ticketek booking site warns.

“Anyone caught with a mobile phone in the venue will be immediately ejected,” the site reads.

All devices will be stripped from audience members when they arrive, and secured in a YONDR pouch that will be unlocked by a special device at the end of the show.

Guests will be required to take their unusable phones to their seats and hold them throughout the show.

Afterwards, they will line up to have the pouch unlocked at an unlocking station before leaving the venue.

Guests will also need to print physical copies of their tickets to gain entry because digital ticketing won’t be available, Ticketek warned.

Someone who purchased tickets for Rock’s show at Sydney’s Aware Super Theater expressed concern over the strict rule in a post to Reddit on Thursday.

“Just got tickets to see Chris Rock, terms on the tickets say all phones and smart watches will be secured and you’ll be ejected if caught using them,” they wrote.

“I’d kind of like to be able to be reached by the person watching the kids, what the f*** is with this?”

The ticketholder’s concern was addressed by another Reddit user, who claimed the same system had been in place for other comedians, musicians and movie premieres.

“I’ve had to do it many times (comedians like Dave Chappelle, musicians like Jack White, film premieres). There’s usually a designated place where you can get your phone unlocked and check it if required,” they wrote.

The Ticketek event page states that guests “may access their phones at designated YONDR unlocking stations in the lobby” during the show if they need to.

“We appreciate your co-operation in creating a phone-free viewing experience,” the page reads.

Rock made global headlines earlier this year after being slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars for making a bald joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from alopecia.

The comedian broke his silence last month during a performance alongside Kevin Hart and Dave Chappelle at Madison Square Garden, according to ETOnline.

“Yeah, that sh*t hurt, motherf***er – but I shook that sh*t off and went to work the next day,” he said.

After remaining mostly silent for months, the comedian-actor addressed getting smacked while headlining stand-up shows in New York and New Jersey, the new york post reported.

“Anyone who says ‘words hurt’ has never been punched in the face,” he said.

During the event, Hart brought a live goat onstage and introduced it as “Will Smith”.

Ticketek has been contacted by news.com.au for comment.

Mike gives an update on his relationship with Heidi

Heidi and Mike were fan favorites on Beauty and the Geekand one of the few couples to spark a romance together during their time on the show.

Here we watched their relationship blossom, with the pair sharing a kiss on their first date and Heidi even taking Mike home to meet her family.

But Mike revealed to 9Entertainment that since they left the show the pair have decided not to continue exploring a romantic connection.

“Things pretty much ended as soon as things ended on the show. We went back and it kind of just ended from there,” he revealed.

“She just said she wasn’t ready to keep things going.”

But despite the pair deciding to end things, the Geek assured that there’s no bad blood between them and that they still talk every day.

“I still love her, but not in the way that everyone wishes. We’re still really good friends and that’s all that matters… as long as I didn’t lose her, I didn’t care,” he said.

Mike and Heidi have even caught up several times since the show ended.

“I’ve been to Melbourne three times since the show ended and I’ve caught up with her every single time, so there’s nothing bad between Heidi and I,” he said.

But when asked if he would ever want to get back with the Beauty, Mike revealed that he’s just focusing on himself at the moment. However he didn’t rule out the possibility of it happening later down the track.

Throughout the Beauty and the Geek experience, we watched Mike and Heidi share a romantic connection after the Geek took her on her first-ever date.

I have prepared a romantic fine dining experience for her, and even a hand-written love letter. The date ended with a slow dance and their first kiss.

From there, the couple continued to grow closer, and Heidi even took him home to her family farm during the Life Swap Challenge.

It was a momentous day for Heidi, as it was the first time she took a partner home to meet her family.

But sadly, their on-screen journey came to an end in Episode 9 after they failed to impress with their video skills during the TikTok Challenge.

Despite their Beauty and the Geek journey coming to an end, Mike sees Heidi as a life-long friend.

Chrissy Teigen announces pregnancy: ‘I’m feeling hopeful and amazing’ | Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend are expecting another child nearly two years after the couple suffered a pregnancy loss.

Teigen made the announcement Wednesday on Instagram, where she posted two photos of her baby bump. She wrote that joy has “filled our home and hearts again” after a miscarriage in 2020, which she documented in intimate detail in its aftermath.

“We have another on the way,” wrote the 36-year-old model and cookbook author, who shares two children – Luna and Miles – with Legend. In the post, she wrote about her fertility journey, and being too nervous to unveil her pregnancy.

“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘OK, if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’, but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still,” she wrote. “I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing.”

In 2020, the couple made a heart-wrenching announcement after losing their son, Jack, at 20 weeks of her pregnancy. Teigen was hospitalized with excessive bleeding before the miscarriage.

The same year, Teigen wrote an essay explaining that doctors diagnosed her with a partial placental abruption. At the time, she urged people to share their stories and “please be kind to those pouring their hearts out”.

Teigen’s openness about the stillbirth was praised at the time for demystifying a common and heartbreaking experience.

Legend and Teigen were married in 2013.

National Indigenous Fashion Awards in Darwin showcases growing fashion industry

First Nations fashion is about much more than just clothes.

According to one of the people behind the National Indigenous Fashion Awards, the fast-growing industry is a gateway for greater recognition of First Nations people and culture more broadly.

“When we come together as Australians to make decisions around things like an [Indigenous] voice to parliament … people will have a better understanding,” Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation Chair, Franchesca Cubillo, said.

“Because they’ve had those conversations with First Nations people, because they’ve bought those textiles or they’ve seen paintings or fashion.

“All of these important first steps allow First Nations people to take their place in Australia and be valued and appreciated.”

For Wippa, it was spotting Remember The Titans star Denzel Washington in a restaurant overseas that led to his humiliation.

“We were at a restaurant overseas one time and Denzel Washington turned up to the restaurant,” he recalled.

“I started to make my way over to Denzel Washington to get a photo (and) the guy who ran the restaurant was like the middle man, so he jumped in between us and I’m going ‘Denzel! Photo?’

“So he jumps in, looks at Denzel and Denzel shakes his head as if to say no, the guy then looks at me and says no,” he said, adding: “It was so cold, and in front of everybody I just had to wander back to my seat.”

His story prompted Sarah and Fitzy to chime in with a similar fail involving Oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio, who they’d spotted out one night at LA’s Roosevelt Hotel when they were visiting the city.

“You’d had a few drinks, Sare, and I dared you to go over and (ask for a photo),” Fitzy began.

“He had his hat down, he had a cigarette in his mouth … the hand went up, ‘I don’t do photos’, and Sarah just turned around and came back,” he recalled, with Sarah joking that people should “be friendly at 3am”.

“And then I tried to get the sneaky (photo) on the side anyway and security got my phone,” Sarah added.

The radio stars don’t always strike out with celebrities, however, having formed a close friendship with British superstar Ed Sheeran.

Sheeran, 31, had made good on a promise from a recent interview in which he spoke about the similar phallic statuette he gave Elton John for his 74th birthday, offering to send one to the Nova hosts, too.

It turns out he wasn’t bluffing, with the two bestowed with their very own Aussie-themed versions.

“It’s a giant d**k in a box!” Wippa gleefully exclaimed as his co-host removed the stone appendage from its packaging on air in June, teasing, “It looks a bit like you!” as Fitzy struggled with its size.

Married At First Sight star Ella Ding was left blushing on Thursday following a funny incident with airport security.

The 28-year-old, who is traveling to Europe to meet best pal Domenica Calarco, blurted out to staff that she had left a vibrator in her hand luggage as she went through security.

But despite her honesty, it turned out the saucy item wasn’t even the one which caused the search of her bags in the first place.

“When you go through security and your bag has to get searched… so I remembered I had my vibrator in my carry on,” she wrote as she recalled the incident on Instagram.

Launched in 2018 on the ABC, Bluey was soon hailed for its refreshing characters – particularly Bandit as a capable and astute father as opposed to a bumbling background character common in kids’ programming.

It also earned rave reviews from critics and parents alike, who applauded its good-natured storylines and riffs on modern parenting.

The cartoon has become wildly popular in the US after premiering on the Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney+ in September 2019.

Last year, The New York Times described the show as ‘the biggest Australian export since The Wiggles’ – the country’s most famous children’s band.

An Australian woman who went viral after her ‘fox eye’ procedure went wrong and left her with ‘horns’ has revealed her issues are ongoing with her forehead now turning black.

Jessie Carr, 21, from Sydney, Australia, made headlines after she was left looking like an ‘alien with horns’ and documented getting the trendy eyebrow lift removed after it made her face swell up like an ‘egg’ in March.

She paid $2,000 for the procedure – which promises to last between 18-24 months – inspired by celebrities including Bella Hadid, who have the unique look.

However, the surgery didn’t go according to plan leaving Jessie with protrusions on her forehead resembling ‘horns’ which she later called her ‘biggest regret’.

And now four months on from the initial cosmetic procedure, Jessie says the left side of her face where the threads were initially inserted have turned black.

Panicked, she contacted her cosmetic surgeon to check it out and was given a steroid injection to help alleviate the dark coloring of her scar.

In her latest video she can be seen facing the camera holding a tissue against her head which appears to have red splodges of blood on it before leaving the clinic with tape on her temples.

Speaking to the camera, Jessie said: ‘So update I went to the cosmetic surgeon and he was very, very helpful.

‘I was initially like I am never going back again because he’s done what he can and if that doesn’t work I don’t expect anything else.

‘But I was concerned about it turning black so I did go in and in the meantime what he has done to try and help my scar is he put a steroid injection into the area.

‘I think that lightens the scar and also helps with how the scar is currently progressing.’

Jessie added: ‘It was a bit out before but now it’s sunken in. It’s almost like there’s an indent in my head now but I guess it’s a good thing because it’s not inflamed.

‘And I’ve noticed the color is turning back to more of a reddish color rather than a black colour. Hopefully it goes away even more.’

She uploaded the update onto TikTok which has racked up over 900,000 views – leaving social media users shocked by the ongoing saga.
