“Just a note to my amazing wife. I had to get my tonsils out and she has been taking the best care of me,” Powell, 25, said in a Twitter post.

“I’m so lucky to be loved by you, @BindiIrwin.”

The conservationist’s husband went on to thank his mother-in-law Terri Irwin, 58, for taking care of the couple’s 16-month-old daughter Grace Warrior Powell.

“Also, thank you Bunny (my awesome mum-in-law) for taking care of Grace while we’ve been in the hospital & I’ve been recovering,” he wrote.

Bindi, 24, was quick to reply to her husband’s message, commenting, “The greatest husband. Most amazing Bunny. Love you beyond words @chandlerpowell9 & @TerriIrwin.

“Go team… tonsils?” she said.

Alongside Bindi, other comments wished the father-of-one a “speedy recovery” and that he “heals quickly and painlessly.”

Relationship timeline

Bindi and Chandler, who is originally from the US, met when he went to Australia Zoo while in Australia for a wakeboarding competition.

It so happened that Bindi was giving the tours that day.

Bindi went on to post about their meeting at the time, writing on Instagram: “Legendary wakeboarder Chandler Powell and his beautiful family came into @AustraliaZoo yesterday. Wonderful Wildlife Warriors!”

After years of a long-distance relationship, Powell moved to Australia in 2018 and proposed to Bindi the following year.

They married in March 2020 at Australia Zoo and welcomed Grace exactly a year later.

‘sweetest, kindest’

Powell’s tonsillectomy comes a week after the family farewelled its beloved pet echidna, a “family member of 38 years”.

Bindi announced the news on Instagram with a series of photos of the Irwin family and the echidna, which was part of the family before she and her brother Robert were born.

“Saying goodbye to our beautiful family member of 38 years,” she said on Thursday.

“The sweetest, kindest, most wonderful echidna you ever did meet. Rest In Peace, angel.”

The echidna can be seen in the first photo taken of Bindi and Chandler in 2013.

Soon after Bindi shared the news, Robert, 18, reposted the photos with a broken heart emoji.

Meanwhile, Bindi has celebrated her 24th birthday with her family, sharing photos on Instagram.

Her caption began: “24, the last year has been filled with enormous growth, unpredictable/ challenging times, and above all, love beyond my wildest dreams.

“Without them realizing, my sweet family has given me the greatest gifts this year through their extraordinary actions each and every day.

“My in-laws, the gift of no distance standing in the way of family bonds,” she said at the time.

Chandler moved away from his parents Chris and Shannon to marry Bindi in Queensland.

Due to COVID restrictions, his parents were unable to make the 2020 wedding and much of Grace’s first year.

Bindi continued, “My mum, the gift of perseverance, strength, and a shoulder to lean on. My brother, the gift of enthusiasm for life and remembering not to sweat the little things.

“My husband, the gift of steady support and infinite kindness.

“My darling daughter, the gift of finding beauty in all things and running towards happiness (and bubbles, which are the same thing to her) with an open heart,” she continued.

“I’m grateful for another trip around the sun and another year to do my best making difference in this world,” Bindi said.

“Thank you to everyone who is part of my journey, I’m tremendously grateful for you.”

Kiss’ farewell tour might be the End of the Road, but it’s also given Paul Stanley a chance to reflect

Goodbyes are often opportunities for reminiscence, but for frontman Paul Stanley, Kiss’ global farewell tour is also a chance to reflect on ways the band’s legacy will live on.

Famed for their face paint, pyrotechnics, costumes, theatrics and stagecraft just as much as their music, Kiss have always prided themselves on their ability to put on a show.

It brings Stanley satisfaction when he recognizes elements of that approach in musicians at much earlier stages of their careers.

“Being at a concert means being immersed in an experience, and for me showmanship and putting on a show is also a responsibility,” he told ABC Radio Adelaide’s Nikolai Beilharz and Stacey Lee this morning.

“I’d like to think that in some ways we were a wake-up call to audiences of what they should expect.

“Everyone else who is out on tour, or who has been out on tour, has Kiss DNA in their show.”

Kiss’ first performance was in early 1973 when Stanley was barely 21. His career has since spanned nearly 50 years.

Those years have naturally been accompanied by great changes in the music industry.

While Stanley stopped short of saying he would be reluctant to get into the game today, he recognized the challenges for those setting out.

“The fact is now that record companies … they’re not obviously record companies anymore,” he said.

A battle to ‘pay the rent’

Things have changed since the days when studios “would nurture an artist or an act.”

“Nowadays it’s really about bottom line, about whether it makes money or not, and reading algorithms and all kinds of things,” Stanley said.

Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.

PlayAudio. Duration: 2 minutes 52 seconds

Paul Stanley speaks to ABC Radio Adelaide’s Nikolai Beilharz and Stacey Lee.

Digitization can be a blessing and a curse. While it is arguably never been easier for those trying to find an audience to distribute their music, there are also downsides.

“You have streaming where people aren’t being paid what they deserve, and it’s a big problem,” Stanley said.

“Artists nowadays who are aspiring to become successful have a very, very difficult path ahead of them and unfortunately some of them find themselves saying, ‘Well I’m only in this for doing music’.

“That’s okay but you’re going to feel otherwise when you can’t pay the rent.”

A 50-year set list

The End of the Road world tour was due to touch down in Australia during 2019 but was postponed when Stanley had to pull out due to illness.

Ahead of concerts across Australia this month, Stanley said it was “insane to think” that the band had “been going on 50 years”.

“We’re playing things from every era,” he said.

“A set list has to be more than a group of songs. It has to have a certain dynamic that builds and ebbs and builds — not unlike, quite honestly, a movie at the cinema or a Broadway show.”

While there might be farewell kisses, the mood onstage will be upbeat.

“This is a celebration for us, as opposed to just deciding after a tour to never go back out,” Stanley said.

“There’s nothing morose about it.

“I go out there every night thinking, boy, we are just going to blow the roof off this place, or if there’s no roof, we’re just going to set the sky on fire.”

Olivia Newton-John’s final life lessons to Aussie cancer patient

Olivia Newton-John’s six life lessons: Cancer patient reveals what she learned from the Grease star who called her out of the blue to offer support

  • Mel Dee Dzelde claims to have had a friendship with the late Olivia Newton-John
  • The cancer patient, 52, received a call from the actress during treatment
  • A mutual friend told Olivia what Mel was going through then offered to call
  • Since 2017 Mel claims to have remained in touch through calls and texts
  • Mel told FEMAIL the important life lessons Olivia taught her over the years

An Australian woman battling two serious illnesses has shared how Olivia Newton-John called her out of the blue to help her through her lowest times.

Mel Dee Dzelde, 52, from Adelaide, was diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer in 2017 then Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2021 and claims to have received the call during treatment as she shared a mutual friend with Olivia.

‘She said: “Hi Mel, it’s Olivia here. I’ve heard you’ve been going through a challenging time”,’ Mel told FEMAIL.

‘We spoke for about an hour – she wanted to know what I was going through and shared some of her own struggles with cancer.’

The beloved Grease actress died on Monday aged 73 at her home in southern California after a 30-year fight with cancer.

Mel described Olivia as her ‘earth angel’ who continued to check-up on her from time to time, including on her birthday and at Christmas.

The friendship began when Mel’s mutual friend, Megan, told Olivia what she was going through – and without hesitation the actress offered to call.

At the time Mel was undergoing rounds of chemotherapy and was shocked when she heard who was on the other side of the line.

Mel described Olivia as a ‘very loving and kind person’ who treated everyone equally and the pair continued to stay in touch through texting and phone calls.

‘Olivia was so caring, it was like she was holding my hand through it all. She would always check-in on me which was lovely,’ she said.

The two spoke about meeting in person but Covid prevented this from occurring as Mel was in Australia and Olivia was overseas.

Lessons learned from Olivia:

Don’t focus on sickness and to instead focus on wellness

Always be positive

Make use of natural therapies

Embrace life no matter what’s happening to you

Always be kind and show love to others

laugh and enjoy life

During the last few years, Olivia taught Mel a lot of valuable lessons about how to live a happy life despite experiencing cancer treatments.

‘Olivia always said to not focus on the sickness, but on the wellness. She showed me how to embrace life no matter what’s happening to you,’ she said.

Mel last spoke to Olivia indirectly through Megan last month.

‘She hadn’t answered my last couple of messages and I was worried about her, so she felt her love to me and encouragement to stay positive when she was talking to my friend,’ Mel said.

When Olivia passed away on Monday, Mel said she spent the day in tears as she reminisced on the beautiful person Olivia was.

‘She was such a beautiful human and an important person who helped so many people – it doesn’t matter who she spoke to, she acted the same way to everyone,’ she said.

‘I like to think she’s experiencing all the love the world has for her.’

Olivia Newton John, 73, passes away after 30-year cancer battle

Olivia’s battle with breast cancer first began in 1992 when she was just 44 years old.

She was very open about her diagnosis and treatment, which famously included the use of medical marijuana.

The actress famously beat breast cancer twice but was diagnosed again in 2017.

Despite the cruel toll the disease was taking her life – including crippling her for a period – Olivia kept performing, including touring the US in 2018.

She spent the last few years at home, campaigning for animals’ rights and raising money for her charity online.

She was also a strong campaigner for the use of medical cannabis for treatment in Australia.

The Grease star died at the age of 73 in Southern California on the morning August 8.

Olivia’s death was announced by her husband John Easterling on Monday on her social media pages.

Easterling said his wife died at her Southern California home surrounded by family and friends.

‘Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends,’ he wrote.

‘We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.

‘Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer.

‘Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer,’ he added.

The family asked for donations to be made to her cancer organization, the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, instead of flowers.

Armie Hammer documentary to explore his scandal-plagued sex life and cannibal claims

Armie Hammer and his scandal-plagued sex life is set to be the subject of a new three-part documentary series.

House of Hammer, which will air on Discovery Plus next month, includes testimony from two alleged victims of his extreme sexual fetishes.

The actor checked into rehab in May 2021 for substance and sex issues after he was accused of rape and battery by a 24-year-old woman, allegations he strongly denies.

A text — apparently from Hammer to one of his alleged victims — read: “I am 100 per cent a cannibal. I want to eat you.”

Courtney Vucekovich, one of a pair of women who claim the 35-year-old actor assaulted her, detailed the abuse she allegedly endured at his hands, saying that things started fantastically “but then things change” as he “pushes your boundaries a little bit at a time”.

She detailed how the mention of cannibalism meant she spent ages “freaking out” and it was the only thing Hammer “wanted to ever talk about”.

Vucekovich also claims she got a message from him that said: “I’m going to bite the f*** out of you” and that he texted photos of rope to her.

Of the rope, she said: “The ropes were around your neck, your wrist, your ankles, and you’re completely immobilized. I was closing my eyes until it ended.”

Julia Morrison, the second accuser featured in the documentary, claims she received a text from Hammer that read: “I have a fantasy about having someone prove their love and devotion and tying them up in a public place at night and making their body free use and seeing if they will f*** strangers for me”.

Morrison says that she also got a voice note from the Rebecca star, saying: “My bet was going to involve showing into her place and completely tying you up and incapacitating you and then being able to do whatever I wanted to every single hole in your body until I was done with you”.

In the three-part series, the women share a string of texts — which they assert came from Hammer, who according to reports works as a timeshare dealer in the Cayman Islands — detailing his apparent intentions.

One reads: “You are mine! Do you hear me? I own you now. I’ll own you forever”.

And, in another: “I decide when you eat, when you sleep. When you f***.”

The scandal, which was prompted by texts leaked in January 2021, has been labeled “bulls***” by the act, who has daughter Harper, seven, and son Ford, five, with his ex Elizabeth Chambers. He has since been fired from many projects in Hollywood.

Relationships: Psychologist busts TikTok Green Line relationship theory

Social media is trying to provide a new way of testing the health of a relationship, but psychologists say there’s no validity to it.

Several months ago, TikTokers started promoting a theory that you could tell if a hetero relationship would last by drawing a green line over a posed picture of a couple.

In a nutshell, the theory goes: neither partner leaning means a long-lasting relationship; woman leaning in means sometimes a lasting relationship, and man leaning in means the relationship is doomed.

The green line test was coined by a Twitter account named @alpharivelino – which should tell you everything you need to know about the ‘theory’.

But instead of being laughed at and ignored, more and more TikTok videos testing the theory are popping up on my For You page and I need it to stop.

So I called in a qualified psychologist with a degree, training and knowledge, instead of relying on strangers on the internet who call themselves ‘alpha’.

What the experts say

“There’s no validity to it at all,” said Lysn psychologist Nancy Sokarno.

“I really don’t think photos can tell much at all about a relationship.

“I know the theory is based on body language cues but we have to bear in mind that there are so many other factors to consider.

“For example, if the photo is for paparazzi, do they feel comfortable posing for that photo? Or are they standing in front of a big group of people, are people filming the interaction, etc.”

So not only is the green line test busted, but Ms Sokarno also says that generally body language “shouldn’t be the determining factor as to deciding whether a relationship is good or bad”.

“Ultimately it comes down to how you treat each other. Factors like how you support each other emotionally, how you converse, how you resolve disagreements etc are way more important than a person’s body language,” she said.

“Obviously a level of physicality does come into play in a relationship. For example, if a person is closed off physically it is going to have an impact on the relationship, but body language overall shouldn’t be the determining factor.”

Further evidence the ‘test’ is bogus

The Twitter account that originally spouted this sexist drivel has zero credibility, given it has also shared such wisdom as “The definition of a sl*t: she can’t remember all the c**ks she has sucked”, “the tighter her clothes the looser her p**y” and “At their basest, women are cruel, petty & vindictive”.

Yet the same person saying all these things also tweeted that “finding love gets harder the older you get”. Not hard to see why in their case.

Users of the green line rule also love to post a photo of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson where he is clearly the one leaning in to prove that they were always going to break up. However old mate Rivelino also features a photo of Michelle and Barack Obama where he’s leaning in – I think we can all agree they’re an incredibly solid couple.

TikToker @jackmacbarstool further explained the green line with several videos on the theory, but even his own followers seemed to turn against the Barstool Sports writer.

Several pointed out that “you do clearly draw the lines more favorably when it supports your point”.

Many others dismissed it as a serious reach, as people in love often lean in towards each other, and sometimes it’s necessary for the taller person to lean in.

“*shows 8 foot tall man leaning over to kiss someone much shorter than him* ‘SEE GUYS LOOK HE’S LEANING IN!!!’” one commenter said.

In short, don’t take relationship advice from random, sad singles on the internet.

Sass & bide designer Sarah-Jane Clarke on being back at David Jones

Since being at the center of Australia’s most high-profile fashion deal, sass & bide co-founder Sarah-Jane Clarke has been on many private journeys but with her travel-inspired brand, she is now returning to the runway on her own terms.

In 2011, sass & bide was snatched from the David Jones family of designers by department store rival Myer, who purchased 65 per cent of the brand for $42.5 million. Two years later the remaining 35 per cent was purchased by Myer for $30 million, and Clarke and co-founder Heidi Middleton happily drifted away from Australian fashion’s front lines.

Now Clarke returns to David Jones, taking part in the store’s spring season launch tonight in Sydney, with her eponymous label Sarah-Jane Clarke sharing the runway with Matteau, Toni Maticevski and Bianca Spender.

“It’s quite different to what it was like in my twenties,” says Clarke, who started sass & bide at London’s Portobello Market with Middleton in 1999. “It did seem like we were after world domination back then. Now I’m moving at a gentler pace.”

The relaxed Sarah-Jane Clarke range is a lifetime of experience away from sass & bide’s bum-clutching denim, rats leggings and sequinned vests worn by Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna and Sarah Jessica Parker in sex and the city. Clarke started her label de ella in 2018, focusing on slow fashion pieces inspired by travel and distributed online and in resort boutiques.

Step back in time. Sarah-Jane Clark (L) and Heidi Middleton during sass & bide's heyday arrive at the David Jones Tahitian Summer Collection Launch at the David Jones Sydney store on August 9, 2006.

“It’s been a very, very slow chug along with a different brand ethos,” Clarke says. “With sass & bide we were focused on newness. Now I’m producing two seasons a year of pieces that are multitaskers and easy to wear. There’s still the dopamine rush from great colors and beautiful fabric, but the joy can be experienced in different ways.”

That joy is captured in flamenco-style silk-linen trousers subdued by a biscuit palette, powder blue blazers with sharp shoulders that soften into a baggy silhouette and whimsical tunics trimmed with ostrich feathers.

Since sending the first pieces out from her Watsons Bay studio, Clarke has been in discussions with Bridget Veals, David Jones general manager of womenswear, but waited until the time felt right before returning to Australian fashion’s frontlines.

Kanye West covers up as he’s seen out following ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s split from Pete Davidson

Kanye West appeared to be in good spirits as he was seen stepping out in Los Angeles on Wednesday, following recent news that his ex-wife Kim Kardashian split from her beau Pete Davidson.

The rapper, 45, covered up in a sleeveless black hoodie worn over a camouflage long-sleeve shirt, which he paired with gray denim pants and a ball cap.

The outing comes after Dailymail.com’s exclusive story in which a source said Kim, 41, found Kanye’s Instagram post on Monday – an image of a fake New York Times newspaper with the headline ‘Skete Davidson dead at age 28’ – ‘appalling.’

The musician finished his look with a pair of sturdy black boots. The busy star was also seen holding his cellphone in his hand.

Not wanting to draw any attention, he was seen pulling his hoodie over his cap at one point and shielding his face.

The entertainer posted the mock-up newspaper page announcing Pete’s, 28, ‘death’, just two days after his split with Kim.

The newspaper had Monday’s date and also a tagline which read: ‘Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers.’

That was in reference to Kid Cudi, 38, cutting his headline set at Rolling Loud short on July 22 due to people throwing bottles at him. He filled in for Kanye at the last minute but then Kanye turned up later anyway and performed.

Kim subsequently slammed the ‘appalling’ meme on Instagram, and demanded he take it down. The post was removed from his account of him.

A source close to the star told DailyMail.com: ‘Kim won’t stand for this. She is demanding that Kanye take the post down, but he won’t.’

‘She has been vigorously defending Pete. Ella she’ll never get back together with Kanye over the way he’s treated the people she loves and respects.

‘She has tried incredibly hard to have a good co-parenting situation for the children.’

‘She won’t stand for this type of behavior from him.’

The source added: ‘Kim and Kanye’s divorce is still moving ahead. She thinks that people should not be ok with this post – and Instagram should not allow this type of harassment.’

The reality TV star split with Pete last week after first being linked in October when Kim made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live.

After less than a year together the pair decided to just be friends, because of the long distance and clashing schedules – with Kim based in the US while Pete is filming in Australia.

It’s not the first time Kanye has threatened Pete online as he’s regularly posted and then deleted attacks waged at his ex-wife’s former boyfriend.

It was revealed earlier this week that Pete has been seeing a therapist for ‘trauma therapy’ after months of online harassment from Kanye over his relationship with Kim.

The former Saturday Night Live star is said to have found the ‘attention and negativity’ coming from the rapper a ‘trigger’ and has been receiving trauma therapy since April.

A source told People on Monday: ‘He has been in trauma therapy in large part [due to Kanye]. The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics of him is a trigger for [Pete]and he’s had to seek out help.’

Kanye previously shared a screengrab of Davidson’s defunct Instagram account and took credit for driving him away from the social media platform.

‘Ran Skete off the gram,’ he wrote. ‘Tell your mother I changed your name for life.’

In March, Kanye released a claymation video for his track Eazy, in which he depicted himself committing violent acts against a character resembling Pete.

Kanye also took to social media in March and said he was ‘really concerned’ that Davidson would get Kim ‘hooked on drugs,’ adding, ‘He’s in rehab every two months.’

West previously acknowledged his social media posts came off as harassing Kardashian, after he shared text messages with her saying that his previous torrent of posts were putting Davidson in danger.

‘I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim,’ West wrote on Instagram. ‘I take accountability.’

In the texts, Kardashian told West he was ‘creating a dangerous and scary environment and someone will hurt Pete and this will be all your fault,’ later adding, ‘There are dangerous people out there and this is scary and it doesn’t have to be.’

Kim and Kanye married in 2014 but she filed documents to be recognized as legally single in December, 2021, following their split.

The pair – who have four children together, including North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 – have been co-parenting since she filed for divorce back in January 2021.

The couple had a trial-setting conference in their dragging divorce on Friday, and it was revealed that the Donda rapper recently lost his fifth divorce lawyer.

His attorney, Samantha Spector asked to be relieved as counsel and said her relationship with Kanye was ‘irretrievably broken’ though she did not specify why, as per TMZ.

The judge also made it clear that unless Kanye ‘submits his financial declarations to settle the remaining issues’ the case will go to trial in December.

Tiffiny Hall praised for posting relatable gym selfie on Instagram

Fitness star Tiffiny Hall has been applauded by her fans for ‘keeping it real’ with a relatable gym selfie three months post-partum.

The 37-year-old welcomed her daughter Vada with comedian husband Ed Kavalee, 43, back in May this year.

The couple are also parents their 4-year-old son Arnold.

In the Instagram post, Tiffiny is seen standing in front of a full-length mirror at her gym, surrounded by workout equipment.

She is wearing black leggings, white trainers and a gray sports bra.

“Progress, not perfection” she captioned the image, while also adding the ‘strong’ emoji and a #bounceforward hashtag – a movement she started in response to social pressures put on mums to “bounce back” after giving birth.

She was rapidly inundated with messages of support, with many praising Tiffiny for sharing something so ‘raw’ and ‘real’.

“Tiff, thanks for being an awesome human and keeping it real for all of us ladies!” one commented.

“You are amazing! Your body is amazing at every stage.”

“Beautiful, healthy, natural. Taking your time allowing your body to heal and adjust” another said.

“You are hot as, strong woman.”

“Who and what define perfection? You look amazing” one person said.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I’m sure Ed thinks you’re the bees knees!”

“It is so fabulous to see someone in the spotlight taking things slowly after having a baby” another commented.

“Such an inspiration to mums out there.”

This is not the first time the former Biggest Loser coach has made waves with her ‘inspirational’ posts.

Back in June, just days after giving birth to Vada, she shared a photo of her post-partum body, prompting women to praise her for being “raw” with her fans.

In the post, she Tiffiny opened up about the hardships she faced in the “4th trimester”, the name given to the first few months after giving birth.

“Home from the hospital with Vada. Juggling post partum recovery, nurturing the sibling relationship so no one feels left out, sleep deprivation and feeding,” she wrote.

“Let the 4th trimester begin. The washing can wait! Any tips?”

Alongside her post, Tiff shared a photo of herself cradling baby Vada while wearing just a bra and knickers.

In the snap, Tiff’s postpartum body was on full display, she even had her hospital tag still around her right ankle.

Her “stunning” photo was quickly flooded with comments from Tiff’s fans, many thanking the star for being “raw” and “real” with them.

“Love the raw, realness of this pic ️you are fantastic Tiff,” one said.

“So lovely seeing what it’s really like, thank you for sharing with us,” another wrote.

“So beautiful thanks for sharing the real authentic truth,” someone else added.

“You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone,” he said.

“Until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again, I don’t know if I’ I’m ever going to be able to walk again’.”

Here’s what you need to know about vasculitis.

What is vasculitis?

Vasculitis is the term used for a group of rare diseases that cause inflammation of blood vessels including arteries and veins.

Symptoms can include:

  • fever
  • Headache
  • fatigue
  • weight loss
  • General aches and pains
  • Skin rash

The severity and symptoms of the disease can vary greatly depending on which type of vasculitis you contract.

For example, you might have heard of Kawasaki disease, an inflammatory disorder that was thought to be linked to COVID-19 infection in the early days of the pandemic.
