Colin Farrell had ‘terrifying’ panic attacks filming Thirteen Lives

Colin Farrell didn’t have a great time filming Thirteen Lives.

“Terrifying, in a word. Terrifying,” the Irish actor told Entertainment Tonight at the film’s premiere Thursday night while describing the experience, reported Page Six.

The Ron Howard-directed movie recounts the real-life 2018 rescue of a dozen young boys and their football coach who were trapped in the flooded Tham Luang cave in Thailand.

Farrell, 46, confessed to feeling particularly frightened filming extreme underwater scenes.

“It was scary. I’m not a great swimmer anyway, not that we were swimming, not that we were treading water — we had to stay on the surface — but they built a really impressive network of caves,” the In Bruges star shared.

“It was about four or five different caves that were based on the topography of the caves, the Tham Luang caves in Thailand, and they filled them full of water, and we’d go down and there was no up.”

Farrell, who plays rescue diver John Volanthen, added that not being able to see the water’s surface was horrifying and “just wreaks havoc on [the] mind.” He even shared that he experienced panic attacks underwater, which he called a “new experience.”

However, the True Detective alum explained that all the underwater scenes did not improve his aquatic abilities, adding that being a rescue diver is “a very particular skill set.”

Farrell was not the only star on set who struggled with the intense scenes.

His co-star Viggo Mortensen, who plays real-life hero Richard Stanton, shared that he, too, panicked at one point while filming.

“All of a sudden I couldn’t breathe,” the Green Book star, 63, told People. “It seemed like a long time, but it was only a matter of seconds. I panicked.”

Although he managed to remember his training and switch the mouthpiece to the oxygen tank, Mortensen acknowledged that “it’s not that complicated, but at the moment, it’s hard to think clearly.”

The movie also stars Joel Edgerton, Tom Bateman and Paul Gleeson.

Thirteen Lives is on Amazon Prime Video from Friday, August 5.

Candace Bure and JoJo Siwa: What happened?

Bure then added as a side note: “If you’ve personally ever run into me, and I was not the person you were hoping for or expecting, I just wanna say, I’m sorry. Sorry in the sense that I get asked for photos and autographs often, and 99 per cent of the time, it is my joy to do that.

Listen to The Spill, Mamamia’s daily entertainment podcast. Story continues after audio.

What did JoJo Siwa say?

While Siwa has yet to say anything more on her social media pages, she explained in a video obtained by Page Six that she’d “had a rough experience when I was little.”

“I was 11, and I was a big, big fan, and I wanted to take a picture with her, and it wasn’t a good time for her,” the child star said.

“I will say because I had a bad experience, that doesn’t mean that she is an awful human… I think it just was an inconvenient time for her, and little 11-year-old me was just so pumped up and so excited, but that doesn’t mean she’s the worst human ever.”

Siwa added, “It just, you know, it was a rough experience for me.”

While the pair managed to squash their beef, Bure’s daughter, 23-year-old Natasha, slammed the actor for claiming she had a “rough experience.”

What did Natasha Bure say?

In a now-deleted Instagram story, Bure reportedly had words for Siwa.

“Respectfully, someone saying no to taking a photo with you is not a ‘rough experience,” the 23-year-old reportedly wrote.

‘Big tree down’: Archie Roach remembered as a truth-teller, healer and First Nations champion | australian music

The Indigenous Australian songwriter and activist Archie Roach has been praised as a “courageous” and “powerful” truth-teller, as leading figures in politics and the arts mourn his passing.

Roach died aged 66, after a long illness, surrounded by his family and loved ones at Warrnambool Base Hospital.

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Gunditjmara (Kirrae Whurrong/Djab Wurrung), Bundjalung Senior Elder, songman and storyteller Archie Roach,” his family announced late on Saturday.

Roach’s death has prompted an outpouring of praise for the activist and musician, who focussed the nation’s attention on the horrors of the stolen generations with his song Took the Children Away.

The Olympian Cathy Freeman described Roach as a “champion of First Nations people and all humanity”.

“I will remember (Uncle) Archie Roach as such a courageous story teller and remarkable musician,” she said. “You’ll never be forgotten.”

The Australian music legend Paul Kelly, who had worked with Roach from the early days of his music career, wrote simply:

Archie Roach. Big tree down. Weeping in the forest.”

Billy Bragg, who also worked with Roach, said his death was a loss “to all of us who believe that music can be used as a tool to seek justice.”

“Sorry to hear of the death of the great Indigenous Australian songwriter and activist Archie Roach,” the British musician and activist said.

“His passing is not just a loss to Australia, but also to all of us who believe that music can be used as a tool to seek justice.”

Linda Burney, the minister for Indigenous Australians, said Roach was “one of our nation’s greatest songmen and truth-tellers” and a “giant of the Australian music industry and of our mob”.

“For many Australians, Archie was their first exposure to the horrors of the Stolen Generations.

“His voice, his music and his story came out of trauma and pain.

“His powerful songs also brought people together. They provided strength and still serve as a source of healing – putting words into what was unspeakable.

“We are all so sad about his passing.”

The Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe spoke of the important role Roach played in bringing healing and peace to Indigenous communities.

“Uncle Archie, thank you for validating the trauma felt in our communities since colonization,” she said. “Your music brought us healing and peace. May our ancestors protect and guide you.”

The First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, the state’s democratic voice for Indigenous Australians, said there were not “adequate words to sum up the loss… to the community, to the nation or indeed the world”.

Uncle Archie, thank you for validating the trauma felt in our communities since colonization. Your music brought us healing and peace. May our ancestors protect and guide you.

Rest in power✊🏾 pic.twitter.com/TKwPnhzar3

— Senator Lydia Thorpe (@SenatorThorpe) July 31, 2022

Roach suffered a stroke and battled lung cancer following the death of his wife Ruby in 2010. He continued to perform even after having a lung removed.

Roach’s debut album Charcoal Lane, released in 1990, and the track Took the Children Away helped define his career. He went on to release nine studio albums, as well as a film soundtrack, compilations, and live albums. His album by him in November 2019, Tell Me Why, became his first to reach the national top 10.

Uncle Archie Roach was our most powerful truth teller. His songs by him were an expression of spirit; a form of justice in his own words from him. I’m so thankful for Munjana, Took the Children Away, Never Blood, Beautiful Child, & so many more (these are just my favourites). R.I.P. Uncle Archie.

— Amy McQuire (@amymcquire) July 30, 2022

The Gunditjmara-Bundjalung elder’s death was confirmed by his sons Amos and Eban Roach.

“We are so proud of everything our dad achieved in his remarkable life,” the pair said.

“He was a healer and unifying force. His music from him brought people together.”

On Saturday night, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the nation was mourning the loss of a “brilliant talent, a powerful and prolific national truth teller.”

“Archie’s music drew from a well of trauma and pain, but it flowed with a beauty and a resonance that moved us all,” Albanese said in a social media post.

“We grieve for his death, we honor his life and we hold to the hope that his words, his music and his indomitable spirit will live on to guide us and inspire us.”

‘Lost control’: Sticky Fingers storms off mid-concert in Melbourne

Controversial Australian band Sticky Fingers frontman Dylan Frost admitted he “lost control” when the lead singer sensationally stormed off in the middle of a concert last night in Melbourne.

The band was seven songs into its set when Frost appeared to become upset onstage. Video footage captured by a concertgoer and uploaded to social media shows Frost striking the microphone and throwing his guitar to the ground.

The rest of the band – Paddy Cornwall, Seamus Coyle, Beaker Best and Freddy Crabs – then followed him offstage.

According to the Herald Sun, a faulty microphone may have triggered the tantrum during the song “Not Yet Done”. Boos could be heard from the crowd.

Another 10 minutes passed before it was announced that the show had been cancelled.

On Sunday afternoon, Frost posted a statement to Facebook apologizing to fans.

“I’m really sorry for last night in Melbourne,” he said.

“I’ve been working hard on myself and will continue to prioritize my health, but I still let a lot of you down.

“I want to apologize to the fans and my band, our crew and venue staff.

“The tour has been amazing so far and we wanted to end it big, but I just didn’t have it last night and I lost control. We’re working on a new date to make it up to everyone or refunds for those who want them and we will let you know plans soon.”

The Saturday night Festival Hall gig was the last performance of Sticky Fingers’ Australian tour. The band had played on Friday night in Melbourne without drama. It’s expected the band will still perform in New Zealand next month.

An audience member told the Herald Sun, “The atmosphere at the gig initially was great. But then we only got three songs in and Frosty cracked the s**ts, stormed off and cancelled.”

Other concertgoers took to Facebook to express their annoyance.

for the Herald Suna fan named Jordan Patrick wrote on social media, “Unbelievable, I’ve been waiting for tonight for years, was so excited and absolutely devastated they ditched the show like that.

“So disrespectful to the fans who have stuck by them and waited to see them after such a long time.”

Other fans said they had flown to Melbourne specifically for the show.

Sticky Fingers was previously engulfed in scandal when Indigenous artist Thelma Plum Frost allegedly had in 2016 racially abused and threatened her. The accusation sparked a raft of boycotts.

Frost and the band denied the allegations but later issued a mea culpa around unspecified “unacceptable” behaviors and claimed that alcohol addiction and mental health issues were contributing factors.

Frost wrote in 2016 that he would seek therapy and rehabilitation and that he was “truly sorry to the people who have been affected by my behaviour” and that he hoped to “one day make amends for my actions”.

Frost isn’t the only band member to be embroiled in public spectacles. Bassist Cornwall had to issue an apology for 2019 rantings against ABC’s youth station, Triple J.

He initially said in an expletive-laden video posted to social media, “Triple J, f**k you and your f**king artist repertoire. We don’t f**king need you. We don’t want you because you play your f**king bullshit and you’re a bunch of f**king maggots.”

A year later, Cornwall apologized for his words. I have conceded that the relationship between Sticky Fingers and Triple J had fractured due to his actions.

He said in May 2020, “I was outta my head, not dealing with personal battles of my own, I’m sorry to the people I hurt at the station, as well as my own team.

“I ain’t the same derailed, angry person you saw last year. I’m not where I want to be yet but I’ve been doing a lot better, dealing with my demons. I hope sharing this helps find a resolve on the situation.”

In 2019, Frost and Cornwall were arrested for a violent punch-up between the pair at Marrickville Bowling Club in Sydney. It occurred after the band members had been drinking for six hours.

Cornwall was in 2021 sentenced to 18 months, to be served in the community.

News.com.au contacted Sticky Fingers’ management for comment.

British politician’s proposal to call the Queen ‘Elizabeth the Faithful’ via title addition knocked back

We know her simply as the Queen or Her Majesty, but if one British politician had got his way, the monarch might have become ‘Elizabeth the Faithful’.

Michael Farmer, former treasurer of the UK’s Conservative Party, called for ‘the Faithful’ to be added to Elizabeth II’s title in honor of her record-breaking reign.

Making his case in Parliament last week, he suggested the monarch’s unprecedented Platinum Jubilee, marking her 70 years on the throne, ‘demanded marking for future generations’. (Watch above.)

“Adding ‘the Faithful’ to the Queen’s title, as in ‘Alfred the Great’, would make her stand out in the sweep of history,” Lord Farmer said, referencing the Saxon king who reigned from 871 to 889.

“This permanent and indisputable marker would acknowledge her constancy and outworked sense of duty.”

Though few would deny Her Majesty’s faithfulness to the throne, the proposal of an addition to her royal title was knocked back.

As reported this weekend by The MirrorFarmer was told there were “no plans” to advise the Queen to make such a change, which would require an amendment to the 1953 Royal Titles Act in order to happen.

“The Platinum Jubilee demonstrated the affection this country has for Her Majesty; it may be left to history to accord titles to past monarchs, but the Government have no plans to make a change,” Lord True replied, according to the Hansard transcript Farmer shared on Twitter.

Another member of parliament, Lord Lexden, suggested it might be unwise to decide on a single epithet for the Queen at this stage.

“As people in the years to come look back on this extraordinary and glorious reign, they are likely to subscribe to it all manner of suitable loving and respectful epithets … it might perhaps be wrong to single out any one term,” he said .

Queen Elizabeth II is Britain’s longest-serving monarch, and the second longest-serving monarch in world history. She’s also the oldest current monarch.

Her Majesty ascended the throne at the age of 25 upon the death of her father King George VI in February 1952, and was 27 when she was coronated in June 1953.

Celebrity Life: Kourtney Kardashian hides stomach in latest Instagram post and sends fans into a stir

Kardashian fans think that Kourtney is hiding a baby bump after she posed in a suspicious way.

The mother-of-three positioned her body in a way that covered up certain body parts in new pictures, The Sun reports.

Kourtney posted two photos of herself in a black shiny leather dress with a major slit on Instagram.

She completed the look with tall black heels, feathery sleeves, and dangly earrings.

The first snap had her leaning one leg on the couch behind her in her trailer while the other was planted on the floor.

The Poosh founder looked off in the distance as her dress fell down her legs.

She put her big sleeves in front of her stomach, covering it up.

In the second pic, the 43-year-old sat on the couch and looked down at the ground.

Kourtney crossed her leg over her body and stomach and positioned herself in a way where she could hide a bump if there was one.

The Hulu star captioned the post: “Playing dress up in my trailer.”

This led many fans to believe that she is pregnant with her fourth child.

Fans on Reddit reposted the pictures and started a discussion on the thread.

One person wrote: “I think she’s pregnant.”

“So this is just speculation and I can be 100 per cent wrong but I feel like the way she’s been moving lately. I think she’s posting old photos to her of her but new to us, she’s been hiding her belly from her, herself.

“Don’t get me excited,” replied another fan.

One chimed in: “Look at the way she is sitting. Trying to hide a bump?

Baby number four?

Earlier this week, Kourtney posted a photo that sent the internet into a frenzy.

The Kardashians star posted a glammed-up model pic of herself styled in all-black leather on her story.

She wore thick dark and smoky eye makeup and showed off her curves in a brassiere.

The reality star posed holding a neon “V” in her hands as she stepped through the light fixture with one leg.

However, after fans saw the photo circulating online, they came up with a different theory for Kourtney’s pose.

“She’s definitely preggers right?” asked one fan.

Others joked: “Setting my reminder for nine months!”

Is that a hint?

Kourtney previously shared a throwback photo of her sister Khloe touching her baby bump.

She gushed: “OMG” before tagging Khloe, 38, in the slide.

The photo had been taken when Khloe and the Keeping Up With the Kardashians clan changed into matching velor tracksuits after the Good American founder’s wedding to Lamar Odom in 2009.

After a whirlwind wedding, Lamar and Khloe officially divorced in 2016.

covering up

Recently, Kourtney posted a photo of herself in an oversized jacket that fueled even more speculation.

She shared a snap of herself in her latest outfit – a massive brown and black patterned oversized jacket to cover up her midriff.

Later, the star posted another video in an oversized outfit.

In the boomerang, she posed by crossing her arms over her belly and holding the bag in front of her stomach.

The star craftily covered up any signs she may be showing a bump.

Kourtney’s struggle

On the family’s new reality show, viewers have been watching Kourtney’s struggle to have another baby.

Fans recently watched Kourtney’s bizarre methods as part of her attempts to become pregnant with a fourth child.

In one episode, she tried eating hard-boiled quails eggs.

While sitting down for lunch with Steph Shepherd, 32, she told her friend: “I have to eat quail eggs every day.”

Steph seemed concerned as she asked: “Why?”

Kourtney replied: “For baby-making.”

She and her husband, Travis Barker, also openly shared their struggles as Kourtney tried to conceive through IVF.

Kourtney already has three children with her ex Scott Disick: Mason, 12; Penelope, 9; and Reign, 7.

Although the spouses do not have any children together, Travis has children with his ex, Shanna Moakler: Landon, 18, and Alabama, 16.

Sunday with Adam Hills: ‘I’ll be on barbie duty – ribs with my secret ingredient’ | tv-comedy

Early morning or lie-in? I have two young daughters, so I don’t really get the choice. My eight-year-old got into bed with me today at 6am and said: ‘You’re the best dad in the entire multiverse.’ My perfect day starts with that.

Sunday brekkie? Australian brunches – smashed avo on toast, poached egg, bacon or chorizo – are just phwoar. In Melbourne, there’s a new coffee called a Magic – a double ristretto with three-quarters hot milk. That’s the level of detail we give to brunch.

Sunday travel? We’ll probably head down the coast to our beach shack, which has a beach on either side, like Summer Bay in Home and Away. My daughter will have a surf lesson on the back beach. If you want to have a paddle, you go to the front beach. If you want to walk the dog, you drive to the dog beach.

Sunday afternoon? If it’s high tide, I head in for a bit of a body surf. If it’s low tide, we walk around the rock pools, looking for crabs and starfish.

Sunday sunset? I can see the English mindset: ‘Hang on. It’s 30C, it’s 6pm, we’re on a beach, this may never happen again.’ The Australian mindset is: ‘Yeah, it’ll happen again tomorrow. Let’s go home and get dinner.’

Sunday dinner? I’ll be on barbecue duty, so I’ll do fish, veggie and a rack of ribs, with my secret ingredient – a coat of Vegemite, so they char with a bit of a kick.

Sunday Tipple? I’ve been so productive since I’ve been off the booze for the last few years: I’ve taken up disability rugby league, made a documentary and written three books. There’s nothing worse than Sunday with a hangover; I feel so guilty.

Sunday evening? We’ll watch a movie, then an episode of the Australian kids’ TV show bluey. It puts you in a really light mood before bed.

Sunday reality? This is my ideal Sunday, about four times a year. It’s better than saying I wake up and FaceTime my daughters as they’re going to bed in Australia, then spend all day working!

The Last Leg is on Channel 4 on Fridays at 10pm
