Video of Kalyn Ponga, Kurt Mann kicked out of pub toilet cubicle

Newcastle’s nightmare season has hit another embarrassing low, this time off the field – with video emerging of Kalyn Ponga and Kurt Mann being kicked out of a pub toilet.

The clip, which has been leaked from the social media app Snapchat, shows the pair being ushered out by a staff member with the caption ‘Ponga getting done in the toilet’.

The star fullback, who had already been ruled out for the season with concussion issues, signed a new contract with the Knights earlier this year.

The club are now investigating the video – which took place over the weekend.

Kalyn’s father, Andre, defended his son’s actions.

“He made an exciting house purchase Saturday and celebrated with a few mates drinking. Sick in the toilet and his mate went in to help him,” Andre Ponga told News Corp.

If the investigation corroborates that explanation the two players may still find themselves in hot water.

Ponga has been sidelined due to concussion protocols and will not play again this season. The superstar fullback has been involved in training but has not been taking part in contact drills.

Mann has been sidelined with a quad injury and players are normally told to stay off the drink while they are in the rehabilitation group.

Ponga told Triple M Newcastle on Sunday afternoon that he was cleared to return for the club’s round 25 clash with the Sharks but it had been determined that he would take extra caution and sit it out.

“I’d be sweet for the last round but doing no contact for the year, it probably would be a wise thing not to play the last round,” Ponga said.

“My season’s done. It’s a bit weird. I feel OK now. At the start I felt a bit weird, headaches and what not, but I feel all right now.

“It’s just hard. I feel OK. I feel fit. I want to play but I guess I’m just going through the protocols at the moment.”
