Hunted Australia viewers are left furious over a ‘wildly unfair’ twist

Viewers of Hunted Australia have been left furious over an ‘unfair’ twist that saw one half of a team get caught on Sunday’s episode.

Bondi couple Lavinia and Nick spent two weeks completely off the grid by avoiding friends and family, and not using the bank cards given to them at the start of the competition.

But eventually the pair found themselves in need of money because they were getting ‘cold, tired and hungry’.

However, just as they went to withdraw the cash they were entitled to spend, as per the rules of the game, the Hunters decided to throw a spanner in the works.

They froze the pair’s ATM card in a bid to catch them, even though all the other teams had taken advantage of this emergency cash resource.

In CCTV footage, Lavinia made several attempts to withdraw cash without luck.

The Hunters cheered back at HQ as she struggled to work out why one of their few lifelines had been taken away before they could even use it.

Viewers flocked to Twitter to express their anger and frustration, labeling the Hunters’ decision ‘unfair’.

‘Hey freezing their bank accounts… is that fair?’ another added.

Meanwhile, several viewers accused the Hunters of ‘cheating’.

The shock twist comes after last week’s ‘unAustralian’ betrayal which saw aunt-and-niece duo Karen and Brittany get caught after being tipped off by their bus driver.

Also on Sunday’s episode, friends Puneet and Kris dropped by the remote country property of one of their contacts, but fled after becoming suspicious the Hunters where on their tail.

The Hunters managed to capture the pair, as well as Nick, leaving his partner Lavinia on her own with no money.

The Hunted team is still tracking down five contestants – Stathi and Matt, Jake and Rob, and Lavinia – who are on the run with just a few days left.

Kevin Bacon marvels at popularity of Footloose and confesses ‘it was a great gift’ to be in the film

Kevin Bacon is looking back fondly at the time he spent shooting the hit film Footloose, nearly 40 years after slipping into his dancing shoes for the role of Ren McCormack.

In an interview on Todaythe musical drama’s leading man also marveled at its longevity, and how it’s been able to garner new fans over the course of the last four decades.

‘I love it. I think it’s great,’ he told the co-host Willie Geist, adding, ‘It’s like all of those things that you think “Oh, my gosh, is it ever going to go away?” At a certain point, you have to embrace the beast.’

Bacon, 64, went on to add how ‘it was a great gift to be part of that movie. I certainly took it very seriously when I was doing it and I love that people will still come up and say that they just showed it to their kids.’

The Philadelphia native also credited the film’s enduring popularity to the Broadway musical that premiered back in 1998, and has since gone on to have traveling versions of the musical in the US and UK, while also having a couple of runs on London’s West End.

‘After the Broadway show (ended) its run, it then becomes available to be done in every single high school,’ he explained. ‘And there’s not that many plays, certainly musicals, where you can have a musical and a bunch of high school kids in it.’

The film’s popularity can also be attributed to the music, which included the title song, Footloose by Kenny Loggins and Let’s Hear It For The Boy, which was performed by Deniece Williams.

Just a few weeks ago, Bacon convinced his wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, to take part in the ‘Footloose Drop’ challenge that went viral on TikTok.

The trend, which is set to Loggins’ iconic song, has one partner holding the other horizontally grabbing onto one hand and leg. Then, the partner unrolls the other toward the floor, catching them before they fall.

While confessing he didn’t remember these such moves being part of the original movie, Bacon and Sedgwick went on to pull off the faux drop in their video that was posted on his Instagram page; although she did suffer a wrist injury.

In the film, Bacon played a teenager who moves from the big city of Chicago to a small town in rural Southeast Texas, where he attempts to overturn a ban on dancing instituted by the efforts of a local minister, played by John Lithgow.

Along with Bacon and Lithgow, the cast also included Lori Singer, Dianne Wiest, Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Penn, among others.

Bindi Irwin has captured the moment her one-year-old daughter Grace Warrior waved at a photo of her late grandfather Steve.

Posting to Instagram on Monday, Bindi, 24, shared a video of her cherubic toddler searching for posters of Steve outside an animal enclosure at Australia Zoo.

‘Is he over here? Grandpa Crocodile. And he’s in his construction hat!’ Bindi cooed from behind the camera as little Grace pointed at a poster of Steve wearing a hard hat.

‘You love Grandpa Crocodile. Yeah, love, love! Good girl. Love for Grandpa Crocodile,’ she continued, as a wide-eyed Grace beamed and waved at the poster.

Crocodile Hunter Steve tragically died in September 2006 at the age of 44, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while filming a wildlife documentary in Batt Reef, Queensland.

Bindi was just eight years old at the time.

Following his death, Steve’s family, including his children Bindi and Robert, widow Terri, and son-in-law Chandler, have continued his wildlife conservation work at Australia Zoo.

Bindi welcomed Grace with her husband Chandler Powell, 25, in March last year.

Speaking to People magazine earlier this year, Bindi and Chandler said the advice they received during their first year as parents taught them so much about raising their child.

‘There’s a lot of information, opinions and advice that you get, and as a new parent you go, ‘I have to follow all this,’ and you feel a pressure to try and be the perfect parent, come up with the perfect routine ,” Chandler told the publication.

‘I think the best advice I got was the fact that you can read every baby book, you can take everybody’s advice on board, but at the end of the day, you know what works for your child,’ Bindi added.

‘And that was so freeing for me.’

American woman living in Sydney reveals she NEVER uses handbrake when parking

American woman living in Sydney is left baffled by the seemingly obvious action Aussies use to park a car – and she can’t believe we do it every time

  • US woman living in Sydney said she never puts on her car’s handbrake
  • She asked if other Americans did, noticing that most Aussies used the brake
  • TikTok commenters came out in force asking how she got her driver’s license
  • While others were amazed,’the car literally rolls away if we don’t use the brake’

A US woman living in Australia has revealed she never puts the handbrake on when she parks her car.

The American driver known as Brit made the surprising claim in a now viral TikTok, and admitted she was shocked Sydney motorists relied on the brake so heavily.

‘If you’re American, do you use the parking brake when you drive? Or when you park, I suppose?’ she said in the video.

‘Because I’ve never used one in my entire life. But I think everyone uses them in Australia.

‘And my boyfriend asks me to drive and I have to look at it and say ”Is it on? I don’t know”.’

She captioned the video: ‘They’re so safe here I love it’ but copped an onslaught of criticism from fellow TikTokkers.

‘How did you get a license to drive here? Handbrake use is in the driving test, you either get ticked or failed on it,’ one commenter said.

‘The car literally rolls away if we don’t,’ said another.

‘Yeah if you want to find your car where you left it,’ someone added.

Another said they were ‘flabbergasted’ every time they heard an American person say they don’t use a handbrake.

Brit later clarified that cars ‘are not just rolling away’ in the US, and said the parking brake was only used if the driver stopped on a hill.

She added once the car is put in park, it didn’t need the handbrake on.

‘When you put it in park, you can lean on it, you can push it, it doesn’t roll anywhere,’ she said in another video.

‘We don’t need to put the parking brake on unless you’re on a really steep hill – that’s what we’re taught.’

But many were still unconvinced.

‘Using the park break not only is a failsafe it’s to take away stress and strain from your gearbox/transmission,’ one commented.

‘My sister literally got run over by her own car. It was parked without the hand brake on,’ said another.

Bloom’s interest in the Australian wildlife wouldn’t be complete without getting to see a kangaroo up close and personal.

And from the looks of his video post, it appears as though the actor went to an animal shelter of some kind and got to cradle a baby kangaroo in his arms.

‘Hi buddy. You are just the coolest little gut. Aren’t you amazing,’ he said while petting the animal, which are indigenous to Australia, as well as New Guinea.

He also posted a video of a group of sharks that had gathered near the shore of the beach as the sun gave way to the evening, as well as a photo of a few beautiful birds walking along near a roadway.

Bloom has been shredding his body into tip-top shape while filming Wizards, as seen in another clip of him doing some stretching exercises.

While laying on his side, shirtless and wearing only skimpy black shorts, the Pirates Of The Caribbean star flaunted his ripped abs and overall toned physique.

For his role in Wizards, he had his dark brown hair dreaded, which he pulled up into a loose bun while he worked out.

Fans can also get a look at his amazing toned midsection in another photo showing him working with weights on his legs as he does crunches and sit-ups.

Bloom is expected to spend about three months shooting Wizards, alongside Australian director David Michod, which means he will likely be in the country working to about mid-September.

Alongside the photos the woman wrote: ‘I’ve always wanted a seagrass pendant light but without the price tag, so I thought I’d give it a shot to make one.’

She used a $32 pendant light from Kmart, $3 raffia and a hot glue gun to create the piece and deleted the social media post after realizing the idea was dangerous.

‘Please be aware that this can catch fire because it’s not designed to be used in that way. Would hate for something bad to happen,’ one person wrote.

‘Oh no!! I’m dangerous. I’d be taking it down as lovely as it is. The light bulb could get far too hot and up in flame’s the raffia will go,’ another said.

A third added: ‘Please take these lights down. I lost my home and everything in it in the Lismore floods, trust me you don’t want to lose your home and everything you own to a fire.’

Others also mocked the woman’s design and described it as ‘ugly’.

‘It looks like my damaged hair after I bleached it for the fifth time,’ one person wrote, another added: ‘Spiders, that’s all I have to say.’

‘Awe man, I thought it was two minute noodles for a moment there,’ another said.

The most common fire hazards include smoking, cooking, electrical cables and improper handling of storage.
