The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies got emotional live on air as co-host Larry Emdur recalled the moment they “just clicked.”

Recalling their audition for the morning show in 2007, Emdur got sentimental about their instant connection and how over the past 15 years they “never unclicked”.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Morning Show, the TV personalities celebrated the launch of Emdur’s memoir Happy As Larry, which was just released.

Gillies shared with the audience her favorite line from the book, asking Emdur to “shed some light on it.”

“We just clicked, and we’ve never unclicked,” was the line Gillies chose.

“That’s about us Kylie, that’s about you,” Emdur laughed.

“The only line in the book to read out on TV of course I would make it about me,” she said.

“No, no, no, that is about us, it’s about the first time we sat on The Morning Show couch for our audition, and how we looked into each other’s eyes and we just smiled, we laughed, we had fun, and we ‘ve never stopped doing that,” Emdur explained.

“And I wrote this to you in the cover of your book: This show and you are such an important part of all of this.

“All of this, all of these silly little stories over the last 40 years has led to this,” he said, referring to their partnership.

“And I am so grateful for you and this show. And we just clicked and we’ve never unclicked.”

Hearing Emdur’s sweet words, Gillies was overcome with emotion as she said, “aw how can I make fun of that now because that was really nice!”

“Well it’s true, it’s true,” Emdur said.

‘Most fulfilling chapter of my life’

“I mean, all this stuff it’s all about me growing up and me as a kid.”

“This was about growing up and nostalgia and getting to a certain point in my life, and that point was 15 to 20 years ago and that’s when this started.”

Emdur said that his time on The Morning Show has been “the best and most fulfilling chapter of my life and work life and our partnership started and that’s very special”.

Gillies responded, “Aw that’s so nice, that’s gorgeous.

“When you started off with the words ‘couch and audition’ I was wondering where you were going with that. Glad it turned out really nice.”

“But you got the job, so well done,” Emdur joked.

“That’s all that counts,” Gillies added.

Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac has shared live updates from a prenatal class his pregnant partner signed him up for.

Mac appeared wide-eyed in the clip and said he would “skip dinner” after the two-and-a-half-hour zoom class.

Mac and his partner Rebecca James announced in April that they were expecting their first child, due in September.

To make sure Mac was prepared for the upcoming birth, James enrolled him in a class, which he participated in on Wednesday.

“Big thanks to Bec for signing me up for this 2.5 hr pre natal zoom today,” he captioned the TikTok.

Later sharing the video on Instagram, he wrote, “Thank you darling @rebeccajames_stylist.”

Mac recorded himself listening to the session with “midwife Penny,” who gave instructions including, “little push, big push, little push, big push.”

Other comments heard from Penny included, “to stitch you up,” “the cervix is right up near your bum,” and “mucus plug can come out.”

“That will ripen the cervix like a piece of fruit. It’s done with a hook that’s about 30cm long it looks like a crochet hook,” the midwife added.

“Might skip dinner tonight,” Mac wrote on the video.

Commenting on the video posted on Instagram, James responded, “How amazing is midwife Penny though?”

Also to react were many of Mac’s Channel 7 colleagues.

“Fun times ahead!” news reader Sally Bowrey wrote.

“It’s the mucus plug for me,” The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies added.

Meanwhile, other fans also reacted.

“This is probably the best pregnancy dad I’ve seen online,” one wrote.

“No one will ever convince me to go through pregnancy ever,” a second said.

Another commenter added: “Mate, I didn’t even do one. You’ll be right. Winging live crosses will hold you in good stead.”

Mac and James announced they were expecting a baby in April

“Wow! Mini Mac coming soon & Bec just ca n’t wipe the joy off her face de ella, ”Mac wrote to Instagram, followed by #DaddyMac.

James added: “Well this escalated. See you in September baby Mac”.

The couple also posted vision of the moment they shared the news with family and friends, as seen in the video below.

The baby is due in September.

Mac and James made their relationship ‘”Instagram official” early in 2021, the weatherman sending fans into a frenzy when he shared a cozy photo.

In a lengthy caption, the Seven star revealed he met “Bec” after being “introduced on Instagram last year” by a mutual friend.

“Bec lives in Melb, and I’m in Syd, so the Victorian border restrictions meant it was illegal for us to meet in person,” he explained.

“Here’s where it gets cool. We very quickly struck up a great friendship. Insta chats, phone calls, Friday zoom drinks, we spoke every single day for almost six months!”

Mac said it was “surreal” to finally meet James in person for a romantic dinner when border restrictions eased.

“By this stage I felt like I knew everything about her… except if she was interested in being more than friends,” he wrote.

“We knew each other so well, but also not at all.

“It’s not entirely relevant to the story but I want the fact that she was 24 minutes late to be on the record,” he joked.

The breakfast TV star added: “Eventually, over a few Harry Potter marathons & a glass or two of Zonzo, we discovered we were both feeling exactly the same.”

“We were just so cautious about ruining the friendship.”

In October, the couple announced they had purchased their first home together.

“’We bought a bloody house! In Sydney! Already drinking our way through the pain as we calculate the stamp duty #Pray4Us,” Sam captioned a photo on Instagram.

Bindi Irwin and Robert Irwin have taken to Instagram to announce that a beloved “family member of 38 years” has died.

The Irwins have said goodbye to their pet echidna who was a part of the family before Bindi and Robert were born.

Bindi, 24, took to Instagram to announce the news with a series of photos of the sweet echidna and the Irwin family.

“Saying goodbye to our beautiful family member of 38 years,” she said on Thursday.

“The sweetest, kindest, most wonderful echidna you ever did meet. Rest In Peace, angel 🤍.”

Soon after Bindi shared the news, Robert, 18, reposted the photos with a broken heart emoji.

Fans took to the comments section to offer their condolences to the family.

“I am so extremely sorry for your loss. Heartbreaking,” one comment said.

“38 years! incredible! So sorry,” added another.

“No doubt they had a wonderful life,” a third said.

The photo reel was a series of shots of Bindi, Terri and Robert with the echidna, along with one of baby Grace Warrior.

Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell welcomed baby Grace in 2021, a year after they married at Australia Zoo.

Also in the reel was one of the first photos of Bindi and Chandler, holding the echidna.

bindi turns 24

The news of the tragedy came a week after Bindi celebrated her 24th birthday with her family, sharing photos from the celebration on Instagram.

Her caption began: “24, the last year has been filled with enormous growth, unpredictable/ challenging times, and above all, love beyond my wildest dreams.

“Without them realizing, my sweet family has given me the greatest gifts this year through their extraordinary actions each and every day.

“My in-laws, the gift of no distance standing in the way of family bonds,” she said at the time.

Chandler, who is originally from Florida in the US, moved away from his parents Chris and Shannon to marry Bindi in Queensland.

Due to COVID restrictions, his parents were unable to make the 2020 wedding and much of Grace’s first year.

Bindi continued, “My mum, the gift of perseverance, strength, and a shoulder to lean on. My brother, the gift of enthusiasm for life and remembering not to sweat the little things.

“My husband, the gift of steady support and infinite kindness.

“My darling daughter, the gift of finding beauty in all things and running towards happiness (and bubbles, which are the same thing to her) with an open heart,” she continued.

“I’m grateful for another trip around the sun and another year to do my best making difference in this world,” Bindi said.

“Thank you to everyone who is part of my journey, I’m tremendously grateful for you.”

Brad Pitt said he wore a skirt to a Bullet Train screening because we’re all going to die.

The Fight Club actor, 58, gave the explanation when asked why he wore the knee-length outfit to the Berlin showing of his latest film.

He told Variety on Monday night, while wearing an all-green combination, about his recent quirky sartorial choices: “I don’t know! We’re all going to die, so let’s mess it up.”

It comes after he told GQ earlier this year: “I consider myself on my last leg. This last semester or trimester.

“What is this section gonna be? And how do I want to design that?”

Pitt’s skirt was accompanied by a light brown cardigan and accessorized with a cluster of necklaces, along with sunglasses and black combat boots.

At the time, social media users have mixed reactions to the look.

“Who cares if Brad Pitt wore a skirt? A good iron was needed to the whole ensemble. Looks like I found a bag of clothes in the dumpster and put it on,” one user wrote.

Pitt joins the likes of other male celebrities to have rocked the traditionally female garment, including Harry Styles, Lil Nas X, Oscar Isaac, Pete Davidson, Russell Westbrook, Odell Beckham Jr and Jared Leto.

Meanwhile, his film Bullet Train has received average reviews so far with a score of 51 on Metacritic.

Chicago Sun Times gave it a glowing review and said: “Unlike so many of the cookie-cutter, wisecracking-assassin movies in recent memory, Bullet Train acknowledges its outlandishness from the beginning and yet also manages to connect so many dots in creative, gotcha fashion.”

Meanwhile, AV Club gave it a poor review, writer Rodd Gilchrist said, “ultimately, Bullet Train aims to be slick when it needs to be smart, and predictable when it should be provocative — effectively making all of the wrong stops at exactly the wrong time.”

Bullet Train hits Australian cinemas this Thursday.

After 37 years on air, Aussie soap Neighbors ended last week – and many tuned in to see some of the early stars of the show make their reappearance.

Fans especially couldn’t wait to see Scott and Charlene – aka Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue – return to Ramsay Street.

But they appeared only briefly, parking their red Mini on Ramsay Street before getting out and admiring their old home, then appearing later at Toadie’s wedding.

The pair was given next to no dialogue – in fact, Minogue spoke only five words all episode, three of which were “home sweet home.”

The other two? “Jane” and “Harold”.

Memes and jokes began flying: was Minogue being paid by the word and charging an exorbitant rate for each?

Having lived in the UK for so long, was her accent now too posh for mechanic Charlene?

Was she actually a DeepFake?

Were she and Donovan having trouble remembering their lines?

The answer to all these questions is no, according to the show’s executive producer, Jason Herbison.

Herbison told TV Tonight that Minogue and Donovan didn’t want to overshadow some of the more recent cast members in the finale.

And the timing of their “secret shoot” meant it had to stand apart from any of the finale’s various story threads.

“Our discussions with Jason (Donovan) and Kylie were always about making a small appearance,” he said.

“They didn’t want to overshadow the current cast or make the finale about them.

“We also filmed their scenes before I’d written the episode, so whatever we filmed had to fit in with that.”

That meant they couldn’t be part of any bigger plot line in the finale.

“I hate to see Kylie coping with any criticism – she was nothing short of amazing on the day,” Herbison said.

The producer also quashed rumors that sets at the Nunawading film site in Melbourne were being demolished.

“We haven’t made any decisions about the sets and nothing has been demolished,” Herbison said.

“We are in the fortunate position of having the Nunawading studios for several more months and we will be using the site for other productions.

“This gives us plenty of time to make provisions.”

It begs the question: Could a Neighbors museum be in the works?

Despite being married for 12 years, Denyer, 44, had never before shared his “exceptional” vocal talent with his partner.

While recording their podcast It’s All True, Chezzi asked her husband if he had a favorite Disney character.

“Maybe not a Disney character,” Denyer began, “but if I was a Muppet I’d be Kermit, you know, nice, friendly, likes to sit on a log.”

He then broke into an unexpectedly accurate impression of the muppet’s character.

“Oh my god,” Chezzi said.

“That’s exceptional. Sign him up,” the podcast’s producer George Sargent said.

Chezzi told her husband, “That’s your next job. I never knew that you could do that.”

“What, impersonate Kermit?” Denyer laughed.

“Standing on a street corner just doing that?”

“And then people asking, ‘Why does Grant Denyer have a weird voice and why does he have a guitar case open collecting coins?’

“We’ll paint you green,” Chezzi joked.

“Oh my god. I never knew you could do that – I loved Kermit.”

“I’ve never done that before,” the former Dancing with the Stars contestant said of his impression.

“We’ll you’re very good,” Chezzi added.

‘Fear of failure’

Last month, Denyer suggested he was “a work in progress”, opening up about his personal struggles in a revealing Instagram post.

“Defs no expert at this but I’m always open to new ideas on how to feel/do better. Or even ancient ones for that matter,” the candid post from July 8 said.

“Meditation isn’t easy for me but it certainly does chill me out more.

“I really suffer from a racing mind that makes a hell of a lot of noise.

“My self-talk can get pretty savage, I beat myself up, worry about the future, hang on to regrets about the past and get bogged down in fear.

“Fear of failure, fear of not being liked, not being good enough.

“Generally a busy mind that makes it hard to be present for those around me.”

He added that his “mental distractions” could make it hard for him to be present and “enjoy the moment.”

“This is not meant to be a preach or a ‘look at how balanced I am’ – it’s an ‘I’m flawed, I have many weaknesses, I struggle’… and I hear you, if you do too,” he said .

The post drew hundreds of likes and comments from fans and followers, including some fellow celebs.

“Absolutely loved this post and you,” Chrissie Swan wrote.

“Love this mate,” comedian Dave Hughes added.

One fan added: “Intuition tells me that you’re witty, caring, resilient, generous and I personally love your posts.”

If acting doesn’t work out for Aquaman actor Jason Momoa, he could pick up a career as a jet-setting flight attendant.

Lucky passengers on a Hawaiian Airlines flight were witnesses to Momoa’s first day on the job as cabin crew as he handed out bottles of his water, called Mananalu, from a trolly.

A woman named Kylee Yoshikawa, who goes by the username @livinglikekylee on TikTok, posted the clip which has now been viewed by 3.5 million people on the platform.

“My aunty sent me this vid, i just thought i’d share,” she captioned the video which had an instrumental version of Disney’s Under the Sea — very fitting — playing over the footage.

The 43-year-old even dressed the part in a gray suit complete with a pink flower tucked behind his ear.

He has since shared a behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram, introducing himself to passengers as the “water master” on board the flight.

“Mahalo @hawaiianairlines for allowing me and my team to capture this special moment,” he wrote.

“It’s a dream come true. My idea to create @Mananalu.water came to me while on a flight.

“I’m grateful for your support and it’s an honor to have Hawaiian Airlines be the first airline to partner with Mananalu. We’re on a mission to end single-use plastic. Drink one, remove one – For every bottle of Mananalu sold, we remove one plastic bottle from the ocean. We have removed 3 MILLION plastic bottles from the ocean this year. Appearing on Sunrise live from the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Angie and Allie told hosts David Koch and Nat Barr that the former singer’s background in the spotlight — particularly his relationship with Miley Cryus — made him uniquely qualified to handle his private life making global headlines.

“I think he has been lucky because he has had so much history with press and media before, performing on stage for thousands of people,” Angie said.

“So I think the pressures of what he has dealt with in camp and at the Commonwealth Games has been pretty easy for him.

“It has given him an advantage to deal with a lot of those stresses and not let that stuff bother him.”

Alli added: “I think he’s used to it, growing up from a very young age in the entertainment world a lot of this stuff is what comes with it, the public eye and the public world.”

Rumors of a supposed rift between Chalmers and Simpson have dominated media coverage of the Australian team’s success at the Commonwealth Games after news Simpson was dating Charlmers’ former flame and fellow swimmer McKeon.

Cody was with Cyrus for about 10 months before moving to Australia from LA to focus on swimming.

His mum said the career change came as a shock and she did “everything I could to discourage” Cody from taking up swimming.

“I feel like a bad mum,” she admitted on Sunrise.

“I tried to do everything I could to discourage him. Being a former swimmer myself I went, ‘are you kidding, you’re singing, traveling the world parting till late why would you go back to a black line, the solitude of the sport when you’ve got this lifestyle of traveling and everything ?’

“I just didn’t think he could transition from so manly years of that…but he proved me wrong and once he lived with me he wanted to do it I was 100 per cent behind him.”

On Tuesday, Bindi, 24, posted a sweet video of one-year-old Grace at Australia Zoo, pointing at a poster of Steve Irwin wearing a hard hat.

“We have a little construction going on to make our Tasmanian devil habitat even more beautiful,” Bindi captioned the post.

“Grace’s favorite part?

“Visiting Grandpa Crocodile.

“All the love.”

In the video, Grace potters over to the poster of Steve as Bindi asks, “Is he here?”

“Yes,” Grace replies.

“Grandpa Crocodile, and he’s in his construction hat!” Bindi says.

“Do you love Grandpa Crocodile?”

Grace looks up at the poster, smiles and says “Yes!”

She then toddles over to another sign featuring Steve, points to it and waves.

Grace’s dad Chandler Powell, 25, took to the comments section, writing: “Her little wave gets me every time.”

Australia Zoo’s official account added: “The cutest,” with a red love heart emoji.

Steve Irwin died in 2006 when he was pierced by a string ray on the Great Barrier Reef.

“It’s like she knows him from another time,” one Bindi fan observed.

“Steve’s soul lives on through his granddaughter,” another wrote.

“Oh my goodness Bindi, this is beyond special!” said another.

“Grace Warrior’s connection and love for your dad is so evident!

“This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.”

Since Grace was born, Bindi has spoken often about how much her father Steve would have endowed on her.

“If Dad was around, honestly, we would never see her,” she told People.

“He would be in love.

“He’d just have her doing everything with him.”

Bindi’s mum Terri told Entertainment Tonight how she could already see aspects of Steve in her young granddaughter.

“I think she’s got that determination that Steve had, and that connection with wildlife,” she said.

“Because it is weird to see animals just gravitate to her.

“So she’ll go out in the morning in the stroller, and all the kangaroos just gather around her like they’re having a meeting.”

Australia’s Got Talent judge Kate Ritchie has stunned social media with a throwback video from her Home and Away days.

The actress shared a scene from the Channel 7 show, in which she performed with a local band in front of a rapt crowd.

“I have watched this blast from the past video repeatedly tonight,” Ritchie, now a radio host, wrote on Instagram on Monday.

“Remembering fondly all those lovely faces I worked with years ago.

“Isn’t it funny how I reflect on this scene so kindly now when I remember being sick to the stomach over it on the actual day.

“There might just be a lesson in that for me,” she ended the post.

Ritchie was eight years old when she first arrived in the Bay.

She played Sally Fletcher on the show between 1988 and 2008.

Also seen in the footage was a young Tammin Sursok who played Dani Sutherland between 2000 and 2004.

Replying to the video, fellow AGT judge, British singer Alesha Dixon, wrote, “So cute.”

Meanwhile, other fans looked back on the “trip down memory lane”.

“The Home and Away I remember, ohh the nostalgia,” one user wrote.

Others were stunned by Ritchie’s hidden talent.

Actress Jacinta Stapleton added: “Whaaaat!!??? Didn’t know you could sing!!”

“Better than Dannii Minogue,” another cheeky fan suggested.

“This era of the show was so memorable, loved it, so iconic. Some of the best role models you could ask for,” another said.

“Oh I miss this was so much!!!! I Feel old thinking about how long ago this was though,” added one more fan.

The reminiscences come as Ritchie gears up to be a judge on AGT, to air on Channel 7 later this year.

She will appear beside Dixon, comedian David Walliams and actor Shane Jacobson.

Filming for the talent show wrapped earlier this month in Sydney.
