Celeste Barber wants to make people laugh by “taking the p***” out of celebrities.
The 40-year-old social media star rose to fame by parodying A-listers on Instagram and explained that her work is a look at the “multi-billion dollar body shaming industry”.
She said: “I realized that there were all these kinds of images being put out there, that were sold off as being normal and every day.”
“When you bought a magazine you knew, oh that’s Cindy Crawford being Cindy Crawford but on social media, it got sold as, ‘this is what everyone looks like,’ and I was like, ‘no, I don’t reckon that’s how people really look,’ or ‘I know I don’t look like that,’ so I did ap***-take on it.
“It’s a look at celebrity culture, the beauty industry, the fashion industry, the multibillion-dollar body-shaming industry so it’s just kind of nice to cut through that a bit.”
The comedienne – who has garnered almost 10 million followers online and has impressed the likes of Naomi Watts, Bella Hadid, Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow and Drew Barrymore with her videos – explained that Hollywood stars realize that she is commenting on a “bigger” issue when she creates a parody of them and is able to “cut through” industry norms with her photos.
She told the New York Times’ Page Six column: “They understand it’s a look at something bigger than the individual. The world that they’re in… it’s cutting through the industry, you’re not taking it too seriously.”
“But I think the success that I’ve had is that I’m funny … My goal is first and foremost to make someone laugh. You make someone laugh and then we all kind of even out. That’s always been my goal, to make people laugh.”
Schapelle Corby has revealed she is single and looking for love.
The 45-year-old convicted drug smuggler took to Instagram today, sharing a photograph of herself on a beach, holding hands with someone whose image had been scrubbed from the photograph.
“Looking for a new four leaf clover,” she wrote in the post.
ATTENTION: Help a girl out. Get tagged.”
The invitation apparent prompted a huge reaction from her followers., with many tagging friends in the comments section.
“Your dream is about to come true,” teased one follower to a friend, with another declaring Corby “single and ready to mingle.”
The post is overlaid with the seminal 1990s nu-metal song Last Resort by Papa Roach.
Corby spoke in 2021 about how hard it was to spend time apart from her long-term Indonesian boyfriend Ben Panangian during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The two had been in a long-distance relationship after Corby was deported back to Australia from Bali in 2017 following her release from jail.
The pair met during a church service at Kerobokan Prison in 2006. Both were behind bars for drug crimes, with Panangian sentenced to more than three years for possession of marijuana.
Even after he was released, he continued to visit the 43-year-old in prison and has been credited with helping her during her battle with mental health.
“He’s very important. He’s a huge motivator in me. He’s really encouraged… He’s a big part of my life,” Corby said in 2020.
“It works because we have video chats. We can see each other. It’s not just letters or normal telephone calls, it’s video chats, so we speak together like three or four times a day.
“It works for us, this long-distance relationship.”
Corby was — in 2005 — sentenced to 20 years in a Balinese prison after she was busted with 4.2kg of cannabis in her bodyboard bag.
Her sentence was reduced, however the Queenslander still spent almost a decade locked away at Kerobokan Prison before her release on parole in February, 2014, and her deportation back to Australia three years later.
Kim Kardashian and comedian Pete Davidson have ended their relationship, a source close to the couple tells CNN.

The pair, who became Instagram official in March and made their red carpet debut in May, have been romantically linked since October 2021.
In an episode of her Hulu series, Kardashian opened up about meeting Davidson when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” and making a connection with him.
“I did ‘SNL,’ and then when we kissed in the scene, it was just a vibe,” Kardashian said on the show noting that Davidson did not attend the after-show party.
Later, she said, she decided to pursue him.
“I called the producer at ‘SNL’ and was like, ‘Hey, do you have Pete’s number?’ she counted.
“And they were like, ‘Yeah.’ I text him. I wasn’t even thinking like, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna be in a relationship with him.’”
Davidson left the long-running comedy sketch show at the end of last season after eight years.
Kardashian was declared legally single by a Los Angeles court in March, after filing a request several months ago that her estranged husband, musician Kanye West, opposed.
The former couple, who had a contentious divorce battle, have four children together.
Sydney neurosurgeon Charlie Teo could be trading scrubs for a wedding suit soon after revealing social media posts hinted he has recently become engaged to his girlfriend Traci Griffiths.
The couple met when Ms Griffiths sought Dr Teo’s expert advice in 2009, although they did not begin dating until 11 years later after the brain surgeon split from his wife.
Dr Teo previously operated on WA girl Amelia ‘Milli’ Lucas, who captured the hearts of the nation during her brave cancer battle. The 14-year-old lost her cancer battle in January 2021.
Wedding rumors have followed the well-known surgeon and his former patient for more than a year, but it appears there may now be some truth to the whispers.
Ms Griffiths, a vegan activist and fitness influencer, has used revealing hashtags in pictures of the couple to hint at the change in their relationship status.
The former model has consistently tagged photos of her and Dr Teo with references to “#myhero” and “#mybestfriend” during their relationship, but she upgraded the hashtags in May to “#myfiance” and “#ilovemyfiance”.
The revelations are buried in a number of hashtags attached to photos of Ms Griffiths at the Charlie Teo Foundation Ball more than two months ago.
The engagement hints continued in June with pictures of the costumed couple attending a Great Gastby themed birthday party.
Photos from the night are captioned with the same fiance hashtags and a nod to Dr Teo’s paperboy outfit.
After dropping the tantalizing suggestions, Ms Griffiths has remained quiet on the topic of her relationship.
The animal activist hasn’t posted any further photos of the couple on her social media accounts and there have been no more revealing hashtags.
Neither she nor Dr Teo responded to requests for comments about the engagement.
The exciting hints come as Dr Teo has taken a step back from his work as a neurosurgeon after conditions were imposed on his medical registration last year following complaints from colleagues.
In August 2021, the Medical Council of NSW banned Dr Teo from performing high-risk surgeries without the written approval from a second independent neurosurgeon.
The restrictions will remain in place until next month.
Prior to the review of his medical practices, Dr Teo had built his reputation by operating on those with incurable or inoperable brain cancers.

“As part of The Seekers and as a solo performer she was superb,” he said.
“Also a truly kind and generous person.”
She is understood to have died in hospital on Friday night following a battle with chronic illness.
Durham joined The Seekers in the 1960s alongside Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley in Melbourne.
In 1967, the band members were named as joint recipients of the Australian of the Year award, the only group to be honored to date.
The band disbanded a year later when Durham left to pursue a solo career but reunited for shows over the coming decades.
In 1995, The Seekers were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and, almost two decades later, the members were individually honored as Officers of the Order of Australia.
Durham married her musical director Ron Edgeworth in 1969 before briefly moving to Europe.
In 1990, the couple and their tour manager Peter Summers were involved in a car accident in Victoria, resulting in the death of the driver of the other car, as well as Durham suffering a broken wrist and leg.
The response from fans prompted a meeting of The Seekers for a Silver Jubilee show. During this meeting, Edgeworth would be diagnosed with motor neuron disease, dying in 1994.
In May 2013, the band reunited again for a Golden Jubilee tour. However, Durham would suffer a stroke that impacted her ability to read and write – including reading music sheets.
Her singing was not impacted by the stroke.
In 2015, she was named Victorian of the Year for her services to music and involvement with charities.

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are said to have split after nine months together.
An insider claimed the pair called it quits earlier this week, telling Page Six: “Kim and Pete have decided to just be friends. They have a lot of love and respect for each other, but found that the long distance and their demanding schedules made it really difficult to maintain a relationship.”
Davidson has been spending much of his time working on a film in Australia, while 41-year-old mum-of-four Kardashian has been juggling her businesses and co-parenting with ex-husband Kanye West in Los Angeles.
Page Six said it was told the split “had nothing to do with Kanye” and that their divorce is “moving forward.”
The insider added to the outlet: “They are focusing on co-parenting.”
It comes as West’s fifth divorce attorney has reportedly officially withdrawn from his case.
The move is said to have come months after she filed to be removed on account of an irreconcilable breakdown with the rapper.
West’s attorney, Samantha Spector, was relieved as his counsel on Friday, according to TMZ.
West, 45, and ex-partner Kardashian had a trial-setting conference on Friday, and Spector was set to officially withdraw in a date next week, but the judge apparently ended up approving it on Saturday.
According to TMZ, the judge informed the court West needed to take action and submit his financial declarations to settle lingering issues or the case would head to trial in December.
TMZ said: “If Kanye ghosts everyone then in all probability when the case comes before the judge in December Kim will get whatever she wants.”
In May, when it was reported Spector had filed her paperwork to be withdrawn, The Blast reported an attorney from Pennsylvania who was not a divorce lawyer would represent Kanye in his split from Kim in the meantime.
Spector, who has previously represented Amber Heard and Dr Dre’s ex-wife Nicole Young, was hired by the rapper earlier this year amid his acrimonious split with the reality star.
Counting Spector, West has now been through five attorneys in the case, according to TMZ.
Prior to Spector, West relieved attorney Chris Melcher of his duties in the case, the outlet reported in March.
Insiders told TMZ at the time West had been indecisive in his dealings with Melcher, at some times looking to settle and other times looking to battle her in court.
Kardashian’s lawyer Laura Wasser is said to have claimed West had been “strategically” switching lawyers in an effort to slow down the legal process in the split.
Kardashian filed to divorce him in February 2021 after more than six years of marriage.
She had been dating comedian Pete Davidson since last autumn and shares daughters North, nine, Chicago, four, as well as sons Saint, six, and Psalm, three, with Kanye.
A source told Us Weekly despite West’s apparent online threats to Davidson during their romance, which included warnings he should never see his kids.
“Kim and Kanye have been co-parenting very well as of late. They are very civil with each other right now, there are no issues. They are both treating each other with mutual respect,” the source said.
US actress Anne Heche has been taken to hospital in a critical condition following a collision that left her vehicle “engulfed in flames”.
The incident occurred on Friday morning in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles, near her home.
Heche, 53, is the former partner of talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, and is known for films including Donnie Brasco and Cedar Rapids.
Pictures and video footage obtained by US media outlet TMZ showed Heche driving a blue Mini Cooper, which was later pictured severely damaged at the scene.
The vehicle struck a two-storey home and “erupted in heavy fire” according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Fifty-nine firefighters took 65 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the heavily damaged structure,” an LAFD report stated.
“One female adult (was) found within the vehicle, who has been taken to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics in critical condition.”
The LAFD also confirmed to the PA news agency that the vehicle had driven ten meters into the residence but that the occupant had escaped without injury.
The building was left “uninhabitable,” spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
Heche began dating DeGeneres in 1997 but separated in 2000.
Musician John Legend and his model wife Chrissy Teigen have announced they are expecting a baby, two years after the devastating stillbirth of their son.
Teigen made the unexpected announcement to her 38 million followers, showing off her growing baby bump in a cropped t-shirt and lace underwear.
“The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way,” she wrote.
The 36-year-old, who hasn’t disclosed how far along she is in her pregnancy, said it took her some time to announce the news publicly after losing her son Jack in 2020.
“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still,” she wrote.
“I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”
Famous friends, including Emmy-nominated actor Lily James, model Irina Shayk, and West Australian model Nicole Trunfio were among the first to congratulate the model.
Legend shared a screenshot of her post with heart emojis to her fans.
The news comes months after the author posted on Instagram that she had begun IVF treatment and told fans to stop asking her if she was pregnant.
In March, she told Entertainment Tonight that she had completed a round of IVF treatment.
In October 2020, the couple, who met on set of Legend’s music video for Stereo, shared their heartbreak of losing their son.
She wrote a blog about her experience and revealed she had to deliver the son they had planned to name Jack, knowing that he would not survive.
“My mom, John and I each held him and said our own private goodbyes, mom sobbing through Thai prayer,” she wrote.
“I asked the nurses to show me his hands and feet and I kissed them over and over and over again. I have no idea when I stopped. It could have been 10 minutes or an hour.”
In May 2021, Teigen took time away from the spotlight after she faced backlash after she was accused of bullying other celebrities.
The new arrival with be a sibling for Legend and Teigen’s children Luna, 6, and Miles, 4.
She’s best known for winning over Perth’s Locky Gilbert of The Bachelor but Irena Srbinovska is using her platform to bring attention to the “exhausted” healthcare workers amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“The current situation is horrible and has been for the last two years,” she wrote.
“Speaking from experience, I can honestly say that things are not getting any better or easier on healthcare workers.
“We are all exhausted. We are not okay.”
Srbinovska, who now calls Perth home, returned to her “regular” job as a nurse after finding love on The Bachelor.
Speaking to STM earlier in the year, she said she and Gilbert had been through “a lot” together.
“We’ve certainly gone through a lot,” she said.
“When you say it all out loud, people are like, ‘What on earth? All that was in the last two years?’ And it really was nuts, and a lot to process, but you know what? We got through it together, and we leaned on each other and supported each other to make it through to the other end.”
It was only a few weeks after moving to WA that the couple were faced with their first big relationship test, when Srbinovska suffered a miscarriage.
“It’s something you don’t expect in your first four or five months of your relationship,” she said.
“It happened very quickly and unexpectedly, and it was a bit of a shock. But I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason, and it wasn’t our time.”
