The Victorian government said that its 2022-23 Skilled Migration Program is now open.
All occupations on the relevant Department of Home Affairs occupation list are now eligible.
Open to applicants living in Victoria and overseas, the program provides skilled migrants with a pathway to permanent residence in Victoria
The state government said that its 2022-23 Skilled Migration Program is now open.
“Open to applicants living in Victoria and overseas, the program provides skilled migrants with a pathway to permanent residency in Victoria,” said.
“The skills that successful applicants bring to Victoria benefits employers and the broader Victorian economy. The program provides two visa pathways,” it added.
The government said “as with previous years, applicants will first need to submit to (ROI) and then be selected on competitive merit to apply for visa nomination.”
Before submitting to ROI, applicants should ensure that they meet all eligibility requirements and ROIs will be assessed until May 2023.

The government pointed out that the selection process was highly competitive and there were over 15,000 RoIs submitted in the 2021-22 program.
The government has also encouraged applicants who were not selected previously, to for the 2022-23 program.

“I was granted a visa on 9 August and I am so relieved now. I work in the IT sector and I had filed my PR last year so I believe if there is an urgent job requirement in the state, the visa process will not take too long,” he opined.
According to a Melbourne-based migration expert Neha Singh, this year presents a great opportunity for applicants who could not get an invite last year as the program was only aimed at applicants from specified streams like science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM ).
She says it was also a great opportunity for the people who could not meet the state nomination requirements earlier.
“This time they have opened up for all the occupations which are in the skill level 1, 2 and 3. You just need to be working and you have to show the evidence of working,” she said.
“In my opinion, the government would still be prioritizing some occupations like healthcare, social services, STEMM sector, advanced manufacturing, chef, cook, and early childhood,” she added.
Barcelona have finally managed to register most of their summer signings ahead of the start of the new LaLiga season this weekend, with only Jules Kounde still to be registered.
Xavi Hernandez’s side kick off their season against Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou on Saturday, but the build up to that fixture has been dominated by the club’s race against time to get all their new arrivals registered.

Barca have spent over €150 million this summer on Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Kounde, while Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie both arrived on free transfers.
Prior to Friday, however, none of them had been registered with LaLiga due to the league’s strict financial regulations.
The new contracts agreed by Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto had not been signed off by the Spanish league either. However, that duo were also able to be registered on Friday — along with Lewandowski, Raphinha, Christensen and Kessie — following the sale of another 24.5% of Barca Studios.
Barca’s summer spending has been funded by the sale of club assets, with each deal dubbed a “financial lever” by president Joan Laporta.
They sold 25% of their domestic television income for the next 25 years to Sixth Street in two separate packages worth €511m in total. They then sold 24.5% of Barca Studios to Socios.com for an additional €100m.
However, despite raising over €600m, Barca were told by LaLiga last week they would need to sell more assets — or further reduce their wage bill — to be able to register all their new signings.
Barcelona will now have to free up salary space in order to register Kounde. Because they are no longer exceeding their squad limit, though, the club will now just have to free up the equivalent salary space to what Kounde will cost.
On Friday Barca, whose gross debt still totals over €1 billion, closed a deal with Orpheus Media to sell off another 24.5% of Barca Studios for €100m.
Meanwhile, they are also re-negotiating Gerard Pique’s contract with the defender to create further salary space.
Speaking earlier on Friday, Xavi said he was optimistic that most of his new recruits would be available to him against Rayo Vallecano.
“We are working on it, we’re positive,” he said at a news conference. “We have announced the fourth lever and we will see tomorrow, maybe not all 100%, but we are optimistic. We have time until tomorrow.
“It hasn’t had much influence because working on systems, tactics, different variations… One player can play or another because we are doubled up in positions. We work on positioning, systems, variants… so not much changes. But right now, I repeat, we are very optimistic about the registrations.”
All Spanish clubs must adhere to a spending cap for the season, which includes money spent on wages and transfer fees, which are amortized over the length of the contract.
The cap is loosely a club’s revenue minus outgoings and debt repayments and is applied prospectively. Barca’s cap was -€144m at the end of last season, the only negative limit in Spain, but it will rise significantly following the four financial levers triggered this summer.
Barca are not the only club having problems registering their players with LaLiga. Real Betis still have a handful of players not yet inscribed for the new season, while other clubs, including Sevilla, Celta Vigo and Girona, have had to wait until this week to register their summer activity.
An Adelaide father who tried to gas himself and his young daughter has been jailed for more than 14 years for the attempted murder of the girl.
Shaun Mate and his three-year-old daughter were found unconscious in July 2020 in what a judge described as a vindictive act of domestic violence.

In the days leading up to the crime, he had bought two gas tanks, putting his plan into place after an argument with his then-wife.
Sentencing Mate in the Supreme Court on Friday, Justice Geraldine Davison said the impact of the 45-year-old’s offending was significant and widespread.
“Sadly, in many marriage breakdowns, when feelings are running high and the parties are feeling aggrieved and vindictive, the notion of depriving their partner of one of the greatest joys of their life can seem to be a way of wreaking revenge,” she said .
“There is a significant element of vindictiveness, planning and preparation in your offending.”

On the night of the offending, Mate had made a photo montage of the couple, which he played on the television and said to his wife, “this is what you’re going to miss out on”.
Davison said he later became angry and his ex-wife began to feel unsafe and called the police.
Police arrived and the couple agreed he would stay in a room downstairs.
The judge said the girl’s mother woke up during the night to find her daughter missing from her bed and when she tried to open the door to her husband’s room he told her to “go away, we’re having a little sleep now”.
At that point, the mother heard both her daughter groan and the sound of gas and called police again.
While Mate had barricaded himself in, officers eventually gained entry where they found the girl unconscious and suffering from hypoxia.

Davison said while the offending was both planned and premeditated she accepted a psychologist’s finding that he was suffering from a major depressive disorder at the time.
However, she said regarded his crime as at the higher end of the scale.
“The victim was a vulnerable three-year-old child. Your planning indicates that it was premeditated offending,” the judge said.
“It was the most significant abuse of trust placed on a parent.
“Your intention was to take your child’s life as an act of vindictiveness against your wife thus depriving her of that child.
“Your plan failed by the good fortune of your wife waking and acting as swiftly as she did, along with the first responders.”
The judge accepted a psychologist’s finding that he was suffering from a major depressive disorder at the time, but said it was the ‘most significant abuse of trust’. Credit: 7NEWS
Mate’s daughter, now almost five years old, is said to have no memory of the event.
Her mother told 7NEWS that recovering from the ordeal has been “very tough”, but her little girl was “doing as best we can”.
“No one wins out of this, this is not a great scenario for anyone,” she said outside court.
Mate showed no emotion in sentencing, while his father put his head in his hands and cried.
Davison jailed the man for 14 years and three months, reduced from 15 years because of his guilty plea.

On July 8, 2011, Atlassian Cloud posted a Jira ticket titled “Allow custom domains for Cloud apps”.
2011 is not a typo. And as of today, more than eleven years later, the ticket – now known as “CLOUD-6999” to reference its URL – is still open. But The Register has learned relief is coming.
Atlassian and its customers like the idea of allowing custom domains for its products, because presently they’re hosted as subdomains – if The Register used Jira, we could pick theregister.atlassian.net. The ticket proposed making it possible for customers to use their own second-level domain instead, producing URLs such as jira.theregister.com or theregister.com/confluence. That would be neater and perhaps allow self-hosting.
No-one seems to know just why it’s taken over a decade to get this done.
Certainly not Atlassian customers, who over the years have posted over 1,300 comments on the ticket.
CLOUD-6999 became something of a legend as users wondered if any vendor had left a ticket open for longer – or if any vendor would leave a ticket open for longer.
The ticket acquired a certain cult status, with an artist who goes by “Revolving Toilet” even turning it into a Redbubble t-shirt. The Register asked Mr or Ms Toilet to comment on the situation, but did not receive a reply.

In 2021, Atlassian started posting substantial updates detailing progress on CLOUD-6999. While the Atlassian employee responsible for the ticket changed, the updates emerged with a steady quarterly cadence and explained that Atlassian had a team assigned to custom domains – and that group was making decent progress.
But a promised July 2022 update did not appear.
Followers of CLOUD-6999 noticed the absence of an update, and weren’t happy. Reactions ranged from suggestions Atlassian is only posting news on the ticket to avoid customer anger, to a dark hint that Atlassian promised an update in July – but didn’t specify July of any particular year.
The Register could not resist asking Atlassian what on Earth is going on.
An Atlassian spokesperson responded: “In an effort to provide the most up-to-date and meaningful information with the customers anticipating this feature we opted to delay a status update to the feature request ticket for Cloud-6999 from the end of July to next week, the week of August 15, 2022.”
Why Atlassian didn’t just post that on the ticket is unknown.
But the company did share a little about the ticket’s resolution, telling The Register “custom domains are on the Atlassian public cloud roadmap, and we anticipate early access availability in 2023.”
“We have multiple teams involved in that effort and are excited to be making steady progress on this long-awaited feature.”
But we weren’t told if those teams expect to complete the job in 2023 – so CLOUD-6999 could easily stay open deep into next year, or beyond.
If you know of a longer-lived ticket, or have tracked CLOUD-6999, feel free to contact me or post a comment. ®
google-will-show-cloud-games-in-the-results/”>Google Stadia is about to further improve the live streaming experience – a feature called is on the way Party Streaming according to what was anticipated by the colleagues of xda-developers. The deployment should already have started and will take about a week to complete.
Quite simply, it means that it will be possible stream live during a party, which we could basically define as the equivalent of a private group chat. The users included in a streaming party can be a maximum of ten, and a mix between players and spectators. The resulting video stream is only available to the party attendees themselves, rather than in public on YouTube. All typical party features – including voice chat, emoji reactions, and voice reactions – remain available.
The functionality will initially be available on desktop browser and official Android app; timing for distribution on other platforms has not yet been communicated.
At the same time, Stadia announced important improvements to the quality of the streaming experience: in essence, it will be possible change game and even device without having to stop and restart a broadcast. For example, just open the app on the new device and the message will automatically appear to resume streaming. It is worth noting that there are third-party software that allows for similar results, but they are not compatible with Stadia.

Dylan Groenewegen (BikeExchange-Jayco) took out a close bunch sprint on stage 2 of the Arctic Race of Norway, hitting out early and holding off Amaury Capiot (Arkéa Samsic) and a late-surging Edvald Boasson Hagen (TotalEnergies) in Brønnøysund.
The soggy stage saw no change to the top of the overall standings, with stage 1 winner Axel Zingle (Cofidis) finishing in the bunch to keep the yellow jersey with five seconds on Mathieu Burgaudeau (TotalEnergies). With the bonus seconds for second on the stage, Capiot moved into third in the general classification, nudging Astana trainee Gleb Syritsa into fourth.
It was Groenewegen’s seventh victory since joining the Australian team and even without his usual train, the BikeExchange-Jayco squad lined out the sprint and delivered the Dutchman to an ideal position to take the win.
“It’s not the normal lead-out train, we are also with general classification riders but they did an amazing job,” Groenewegen said. “It looked like a real lead-out train with Schultzy on the end to bring me in position. I started my sprint really early but I think it was enough. It’s a nice win for me and for the team. Yesterday was a hard day We’re also good in the classification and now we have a stage win.”
It was another rainy day in Norway for the 154km stage from Mosjøen to Brønnøysund.
Stephen Bassett (Human Powered Health), Aaron Van Poucke (Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise), Johan Ravnøy (Team COOP), Liam Johnston (Trinity Racing) and Iker Mintegui (Euskaltel Euskadi) made up the early breakaway, with Bassett aiming at adding to his mountains classification lead.
Van Poucke won the intermediate sprint at kilometre 19.5 while Bassett followed the Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise rider over the summit at Laksforsen. Johnston, the only rider from the breakaway to finish in the main chasing group on stage 1, spent some time in the ‘virtual yellow’ but with a sprint finale on the menu there would be no chance for the Trinity rider to take the lead.
Van Poucke led over the next climb at Tosen to come one point closer to the mountains lead. The breakaway only gained a few minutes but began to come apart, with Mintegui dropped on a steep uncategorized climb with 59km to go.
The gap to the breakaway came down steadily and, inside 20km to go, it was under a minute. When Bassett looked behind and saw the peloton coming, he sat up and dropped back, while the remaining trio kept forging ahead until the peloton swept past before the second intermediate sprint.
Sven Erik Bystrøm (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux) attacked out of the bunch to take the sprint bonus, and although Zingle jumped to try to take second, he was nearly pipped by Burgaudeau.
A flurry of attacks failed to interfere with the bunch sprint, and although Intermarché staged a well-oiled lead out, it was too early and the neon yellow team got washed away as Groenewegen opened up his powerful sprint.

An allegedly stolen car with six youths inside has caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to artworks after crashing into a community gallery in Melbourne’s outer east overnight.
Police say the Audi ploughed into the Kapi Art Space in Kalorama, in the Dandenong Ranges, shortly after 3am, crashing through a stone barrier and pushing into the gallery before the youths fled the scene.
Police arrested a teenage girl near the gallery before receiving a report of an attempted car theft on nearby Price Road.
Three male teenagers and a female youth were then arrested after police flagged down a ride-share vehicle.
A sixth teenager was taken to hospital with a leg injury after police used the dog squad to locate them.
Kapi Art Space business owner Heather Bradbury said the car had pushed a number of meters into a corner of the gallery before nearly exiting through another wall, damaging about six works by local artists collectively worth thousands of dollars.

She said the vehicle narrowly missed a painting of a black cockatoo worth about $40,000 and emergency workers were able to salvage a valuable marble bust from the wreckage.
“I am shocked and really sad,” Bradbury said. “People love coming in and being part of the lovely community that we’ve created, but we’ll rebuild.”
Imagine not knowing where your husband is for six months, only to find him returning from a trip with his mistress.
That was the unfortunate reality for a wife who claims her husband cheated on her after busting him at Singapore’s Changi Airport with another woman.
In a viral clip that has been circulating since June, the furious wife can be seen confronting her husband at the airport as he walked through the arrivals gate hand-in-hand with another woman.
“Excuse me; I’m talking with my husband. Quien eres?” the angry wife can be heard saying according to local media, before the “mistress” walks off.
The wife continued to berate her husband in front of onlookers at the airport demanding he answer where he was as she accused him of neglecting her and their four-year-old son.
“For the past six months, where were you?” she asks.
She can also be heard saying, “I’m still your legal wife, remember that”, according to Singapore outlet The Independent.
In a separate video, the husband reportedly told his wife he was going to see his father in Malaysia and had left. But later, the man’s father called the wife, asking where his son was.
The mother-of-one posted details of the incident to Facebook, noting she was a full-time housewife since their son’s birth, leaving her with no income.
In a lengthy post, she claimed her husband was uncontactable after struggling to get through to his mobile number.
“No video call and his contact number cannot be contacted for the past 6 months,” she wrote.
It appears that the couple has been together for 11 years, with the wife following her husband from Kuching to Singapore when he decided to get a diploma.
She claimed things “changed” in 2021 when she left to Singapore for a job interview.
The woman said she contacted her husband to discuss their son’s schooling just a few weeks after he left in December.
“I try to call just to discuss about the school, unfortunately call cannot get through also fail to get through to him. He should not forget he has a son and wife waiting for him in Malaysia,” she wrote.
“My child keeps asking me. ‘Why didn’t my father call me?’ ‘Why didn’t my father come to see me’. I keep telling my child that his father is working hard in Singapore to earn money
“I took out medical check-up (ultra sound scan /colonoscopy) and I’m found out I have health issue here need immediate medical attention. But the phone still can’t even get through.”
She planned to visit their house in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, but discovered that the door lock had been changed, forcing her and their child to stay at a hotel.
She then decided to enter Singapore to search for her husband, seeking assistance from the police.
“The police dialed your Singapore number which was not available and found out from a friend that you were going to Thailand,” she wrote.
“These days me and my child have been going back and forth from the hotel and Singapore airport wait for the flight from Thailand to Singapore.
“Thank you god! My child and I stood at the arrival gate and saw my husband holding hand-in-hand with his female student walking out wearing couple clothes. At that moment, my heart hurt and broken.”
She realized the woman he was with was his violin student. The wife is reportedly urging her and her husband to meet to discuss divorce.
Remember about two years ago, when absolutely everyone wanted to either upgrade their existing PC or buy a new one? Yeah, that doesn’t appear to be the case anymore, according to the latest market report from Mercury Research.
The report states that x86 chip shipments have dropped by the largest percentage year-over-year since the report began way back in 1994. Analyst Dean McCarron said it’s probably the largest decline since the precipitous downturn of 1984.
Desktop and mobile client CPU shipments were down significantly compared to a year ago, with desktop CPU unit shipments falling to the lowest level in nearly three decades, McCarron said in an emailed statement. Total CPU shipments had the largest on-year decline in the history of our report, which spans 28 years.
Even so, the news is good if your name is AMD. Across desktops, laptops, and servers, AMD has gained ground on Intel in every segment, totaling 3.7 per cent market improvement and nearly nine per cent gain year over year. That measurement from Mercury is broadly in line with the quarterly reports from Intel and AMD — awful and rosy, respectively.
Even while gaining on its industry rival, AMD is showing a downturn in laptop CPU shipments, despite glowing reviews for its Ryzen 5000 and 6000 lines. But in desktop and server shipments the company is well up on its position a year ago.
Mercury assigns inventory issues — a symptom of the ongoing global supply chain problems — as the primary culprit for Intel’s loss in all three segments.
Mercury estimates that ARM CPUs like those in Apple’s latest Mac designs, the least expensive Chromebooks, and a few Snapdragon-powered Windows machines make up approximately 9.4 per cent of the market. That’s down from the last quarter (assigned to a large drop in Mac sales) but gaining 1.7 per cent year-over-year.
Britney Spears‘ ex-husband Jason Alexander has been found guilty, two months after breaking into the popstar’s home on the day of her wedding to Sam Asghari.
Alexander has been found guilty of aggravated trespass and battery, and was sentenced to 128 days in county jail. He’s also been prohibited from coming within 100 feet (30 meters) of Spears.
On the day of her wedding, Alexander snuck into Spears’ compound, while live-streaming on social media. He demanded to see the star and was allegedly armed with a knife.

Alexander was then tackled by security during an apparent physical struggle before the livestream cuts out.
He was then restrained outside the property by security before police officers showed up and took him away.
Because he has spent the last 64 days in county jail following the incident, he will not need to serve the remainder of the sentence based on his “good behaviour”.
A former security guard for Spears says that Alexander had been spotted close to her property multiple times leading up to the wedding, including the day before. He was reportedly told to stay away.
