Kevin Bacon is looking back fondly at the time he spent shooting the hit film Footloose, nearly 40 years after slipping into his dancing shoes for the role of Ren McCormack.

In an interview on Todaythe musical drama’s leading man also marveled at its longevity, and how it’s been able to garner new fans over the course of the last four decades.

‘I love it. I think it’s great,’ he told the co-host Willie Geist, adding, ‘It’s like all of those things that you think “Oh, my gosh, is it ever going to go away?” At a certain point, you have to embrace the beast.’

Bacon, 64, went on to add how ‘it was a great gift to be part of that movie. I certainly took it very seriously when I was doing it and I love that people will still come up and say that they just showed it to their kids.’

The Philadelphia native also credited the film’s enduring popularity to the Broadway musical that premiered back in 1998, and has since gone on to have traveling versions of the musical in the US and UK, while also having a couple of runs on London’s West End.

‘After the Broadway show (ended) its run, it then becomes available to be done in every single high school,’ he explained. ‘And there’s not that many plays, certainly musicals, where you can have a musical and a bunch of high school kids in it.’

The film’s popularity can also be attributed to the music, which included the title song, Footloose by Kenny Loggins and Let’s Hear It For The Boy, which was performed by Deniece Williams.

Just a few weeks ago, Bacon convinced his wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, to take part in the ‘Footloose Drop’ challenge that went viral on TikTok.

The trend, which is set to Loggins’ iconic song, has one partner holding the other horizontally grabbing onto one hand and leg. Then, the partner unrolls the other toward the floor, catching them before they fall.

While confessing he didn’t remember these such moves being part of the original movie, Bacon and Sedgwick went on to pull off the faux drop in their video that was posted on his Instagram page; although she did suffer a wrist injury.

In the film, Bacon played a teenager who moves from the big city of Chicago to a small town in rural Southeast Texas, where he attempts to overturn a ban on dancing instituted by the efforts of a local minister, played by John Lithgow.

Along with Bacon and Lithgow, the cast also included Lori Singer, Dianne Wiest, Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Penn, among others.

Directed by Herbert Ross from a screenplay by Dean Pitchford, an Academy Award-winning lyricist who co-wrote the title song for the hit film Fame (1980), it went on to gross more than $80 million at the box office in North America on an $8.2 million budget, despite receiving mixed reviews by critics.

That box office receipts in the US and Canada would end up being good enough to be the seventh highest-grossing film of 1984.

Dean Boxall reacts to Ariarne Titmus, women’s 4 x 200m freestyle relay, world record, time, video, highlights, latest

Death, taxes and Dean Boxall providing box office reactions when Ariarne Titmus is in the pool.

The legendary coach endeared himself to the Australian public during the Tokyo Olympics last year when Titmus took home the gold medal in the women’s 400m freestyle.

As Titmus raced home and touched the wall first, Boxall channeled his inner ‘Ultimate Warrior’ from WWE and frightened a poor Tokyo official who had no idea what to do to keep Boxall in check.

And Boxall was back at it again at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, albeit nowhere near as wild as the Tokyo celebrations.

Boxall was watching the Australian’s women’s 4 x 200m freestyle relay in which Titmus was competing alongside Madi Wilson, Mollie O’Callaghan and Kiah Melverton as Emma McKeon did not take part in the event.

With Titmus winning the gold medal in the 200m individual freestyle event, the Aussies were always set to be a red-hot favorite going into the event.

Unsurprisingly, the girls in gold swimming caps delivered in spades as they set a time of 7:39:29, 12 seconds ahead of second-placed Canada while host nation England took home the bronze medal.

It was Titmus’ anchor split in particular that had Boxall going bonkers.

Titmus clocked 1:52:82 in a blistering spell that is also the fastest 200m freestyle relay split of all time.

It also helped Australia set a new world record for the event to truly assert their dominance.

Boxall, along with several others on social media, were left with their mouth agape at what had transpired.

Cunningham picks former fighter pilot as SC gov running mate

COLUMBIA, SC (AP) — Joe Cunningham has chosen Tally Parham Casey, a civil litigator who flew fighter jets during three combat tours over Iraq, to be his running mate in his quest to become South Carolina’s first Democratic governor in 20 years.

“She’s one of the most impressive people that I’ve ever met,” said Cunningham, who previewed his lieutenant governor pick for The Associated Press ahead of a formal announcement Monday. “Ella She’s fought for our freedoms abroad, and she wants to continue fighting for those freedoms, so that’s why I put her on the ticket, and ella she’s agreed to do it.”

Cunningham, 40, planned to introduce Casey, 52, at an event in Greenville, her hometown.

“I have long admired Joe’s bipartisan approach to governing and believe he is exactly what South Carolina needs as governor,” Casey said in a statement provided by the campaign, calling her selection “an incredible honor and privilege.”

“Joe is a regular guy who has the guts to say what we’re all thinking,” she also said in the statement.

This is the second gubernatorial election cycle in which contenders for South Carolina’s top two executive offices run on the same ticket. In years past, governors and their lieutenant governors were elected separately, meaning that sometimes the politicians clashed ideologically or were from different parties.

Last week, Gov. Henry McMaster and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, 54, became South Carolina’s first gubernatorial ticket to file for reelection, with McMaster calling the payroll company founder “fully conversant with the trials, tribulations and challenges of business.” That skillset, the governor has saidcomplements his decades in law and politics.

Since her election in 2018, Evette has spent many months traveling the state, meeting with businesses and promoting their relationships with South Carolina’s technical training schools. Both she and the governor say keeping them strong is key to the state’s manufacturing economy.

Cunningham also points to the diverse experiences of his running mate. Casey’s military service, legal savvy and the fact that she’s a woman make her the right fit for where he’d like to take the state, he said.

“Tally is the best person for the job, period,” Cunningham told AP. “And the fact that she’s a woman brings that perspective to the ticket, especially in light of everything that’s gone on with Gov. McMaster’s attack on our freedoms and his assault on women’s rights. It makes it that much more personal for Tally.”

The Republican-dominated Legislature is on track to make abortions even harder to get in South Carolina following the US Supreme Court’s decision to reverse its nearly 50-year-old Roe v. Wade ruling affirming a constitutional right to the procedure.

While abortion-rights groups challenge the state’s current law, which bans abortions after six weeks of pregnancy but includes some exceptions, a special legislative committee advanced a proposal last week to ban almost all abortions, except when the mother’s life is at risk.

McMaster, who has said he would “immediately” work with those lawmakers, said last week that the six-week ban includes “good exceptions” and is “quite reasonable.”

“If there are other steps, if there are other things that they believe should be done after thorough examination, then I’d like to hear about it,” McMaster said.

Cunningham has called for legislators to hold off on debating the measure this fall until after the November election.

Casey was South Carolina’s first female fighter pilot, enlisting with the state’s Air National Guard’s 157th Fighter Squadron in 1996 and attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel. She has nearly 1,500 hours in the F-16, more than 100 of them in combat, and has received numerous service-related awards.

Casey has also been an attorney for more than two decades, most of that at Wyche PA in Columbia, where she was elected chair in 2017 and focuses on commercial litigation, products liability, insurance and aerospace law. The graduate of Princeton University and the University of Virginia School of Law she has also been a federal law clerk.

Like Cunningham, Casey is significantly younger than McMaster, who at 75 is the state’s oldest governor, and whose age the Democrat has said is too advanced to adequately represent South Carolinians.

“He’s been in politics literally longer than I’ve been alive, and you look at where that’s gotten us,” Cunningham said. “What Tally offers is much-needed change, and it’ll be a refreshing take on politics.”

Cunningham has proposed an age cap of 72 for South Carolina officeholders — a shift that would require voters to approve a constitutional change. He’s signaled openness to a similar federal age limit, which would apply to 82-year-old House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn of South Carolina and 79-year-old President Joe Biden.

How to Instantly Customize Lock Screen Notifications in iOS 16

Every year, and with every iOS update, it seems Apple tries to do something new when it comes to iPhone notifications. We’re not talking about reinventing the wheel or going the Android route — just incremental changes that improve your quality of life, at least as it pertains to your device.

With iOS 16, you get more options than ever to customize how notifications appear on the lock screen (which also has customization options for the first time). You can even make notifications disappear with a simple pinch-in gesture.

To get started, go to Settings > Notifications > Display As.

note: This is an iOS 16 feature which is currently available as a Public Beta. The feature will be widely available in fall 2022.

There are three ways to view notifications on the iOS 16 lock screen. By default, they now show up at the bottom of the screen instead of in the middle. This is the newStack” option, which places related notifications (from the same app, or conversation), atop one another in stacks, so they don’t take up a lot of space. To see all of your notifications, tap on the stacks to expand them. (If you prefer the old way, you can switch to the “List” option which will display all notifications individually.)

By far the most interesting customization option is the “Count” feature. Enable it and you’ll see only a simple “(N)Notifications” count at the bottom of the screen when you have new notifications. This serves as a subtle reminder that you have notifications, but they won’t scream at you — you won’t even be able to see which app is pinging you until you tap or swipe up on the count, at which point the notifications will expand into a stack.

How to switch between notification options with a gesture

And here’s the cool part: You can switch between Count, Stack, and List on the fly, without going to Settings first. Any time you have notifications on the Lock Screen, pinch in or out on the display, and you can go from Count to Stacks to List and back in mere seconds.

These new notification display options are one of the many small, hidden features in iOS 16. If you’re new to the update, take a look at our detailed guide to see what else you can do.

Secrets of world’s most exclusive sex club Snctm revealed by performer

Whispers travel across the dimly-lit room that an A-list female star is among the masked guests at a top-secret Snctm sex party.

Members, who pay up to $50,000 a year to attend orgies in lavish settings, are sipping champagne and cocktails by the bar, while some are already exploring each other’s bodies, The Sun reported.

This is a regular evening at work for Haley Grace, who puts on a tantalizing display with fellow performers, and has recalled her experiences working for the elite society.

The high-end erotic arts club, which launched in 2013, has become a sexy night-life staple in cities including LA and New York, offering guests the chance to realize their wildest sexual fantasies.

Haley is a performer, model, costume designer, and producer who has been working at the club’s intimate events since last September, often held in mansions or luxury penthouses.

Her specialty acts range from fire performance, burlesque, and roller-dancing to environmental character performances. She is also a professional mermaid.

She says her shows for Snctm are “expressive, elegant, and sensual,” and dare the viewer to transcend reality and enter a world of fantasy, reminiscent of the 1999 film ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ starring Tom Cruise.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, she said: “I first heard of Snctm through a night-life venue I perform at, and my first

time attending was actually as a guest.

“I went with a date and we had an absolutely amazing time. I went to the next event again as a guest but alone.

“It was a different experience but exciting and satisfying nonetheless.“At this point, I had gotten to know many of the people involved in making SncTM and it really made me want to be a part of the

team, so I applied to become one of their performers.

“The following event they had I was making my debut performance. I have been a XXX performer for a year now.”

She admitted: “My friends know of my role with Snctm but I have never felt the urge to make it a family discussion.

“I’m polyamorous and also perform with my main partner.

“Doing acts with him is great because the performance is really enhanced when the chemistry between two people is real and they know each other’s bodies.”

When it comes to guest relations, she said performers do interact with them by mingling and flirting to ensure they are having a good time and getting in the mood.

However, as a general rule, performers do not hook up with guests.

“I don’t have any sexual contact with guests – I only physically interact with the other XXX models that I have consented to perform with,” Haley said.

“The show is always different and so is every evening. At the last Snctm party, I did a beautiful bondage scene while being serenaded by a violinist – it was divine.”

She says the crowd of up to 100 is made up of “beautiful, wealthy people” working in everything from business and finance to the arts, including many well-known faces.

Recalling one night in New York which sticks in her mind, Haley said she rubbed shoulders with a female celebrity and the pair had a memorable conversation.

Asked if she’s ever been starstruck at Snctm, she said: “Yes, there was one time I definitely was. And I got the opportunity to talk to them for a while.

“It was an A-list female star, people like to do this in secret and be able to kind of shed their inhibitions.”

Asked if the star got involved with any fellow guests, Haley giggled and replied: “I can’t speak on that.”

Quizzed if the club still gets many big names through its doors, she said: “I’m not really the best with celebrity names and faces, but people do get excited like, ‘Oh, so and so is here’. So that’s fun.

“The organizers are very strict about people’s phones, they are taken at the door. And they have really good security.

“Consent is also the most important thing. They really do a good job of making sure that it’s like a safe space for everyone, not just celebrities.”

The parties run from around 10pm until 3pm and Snctm has also hosted events in the likes of Miami and Moscow, with actress Gwyneth Paltrow even reportedly promoting the club.

“Typically when people arrive, men are in tuxedos, and women are dressed in evening gowns with sexy lingerie underneath,” Haley said.

“They’ll go over to the bar, get a cocktail. We’ll have some more ambient performers.

“And then the night kind of progresses from there. The performances are spread out between rooms.

“We have different stage pieces. There’s a lot of attention to detail, decor, props, things of that sort, lighting, and music.

“A lot of times we’ll have live musicians. I’ve done scenes where I was also being serenaded by either a harpist or violinist, there can be a really beautiful, dark ambience.”

While many sex parties involve guests going off into private rooms to get down and dirty, Haley said Snctm is more of a “play party.”

“The point is really more to play in public,” she said. And then there are people who are fly on the wall [voyeurs].”

Guests get down to business – kissing and engaging in foreplay, in either couples or groups, while others go all the way and enjoy full sex in front of fellow members.

Haley said since events were canceled throughout the pandemic due to safety, Snctm is now more popular than ever, insisting: “We’re always packed out.”

Snctm has thrived under new ownership for the past few years and they have also welcomed a new creative director, Inka Nevala, an award-winning performance artist who also goes by Lou Lou D’vil.

Haley said the majority of her parties have been in New York, with a few in Los Angeles, and she’ll arrive at the event in the afternoon to have her hair and makeup done.

“Next, I will do a run-through and discussion with the creative director and my performance partner(s) about the scenes I’m in.

“Following that I get into costume and do a photo shoot. I usually have plenty of time to relax and socialize until getting ready for the doors to open and the real fun to begin.

“I’ll often start the evening doing a more ambient performance and then later on in the night will do the more intense sex scenes on the main stage with my partner(s).

“I’ll typically have three performative moments throughout the night.”

Haley said she’d encourage couples or single women to join Snctm, describing it as a “sexual oasis” and ”a unique experience.”

She added: “If you are a sexually open-minded person, or want to open up more, it’s a great way to find like minds and try new things.

“The feedback I get from guests is really positive. A lot of first-timers have expressed to me that they were surprised with how open and inspired they felt being there.”

South Africa defeats England by 90 runs, Jos Buttler, record as captain, Matthew Mott, Tabraiz Shamsi, latest, updates

Tabraiz Shamsi’s maiden five-wicket Twenty20 international haul sealed South Africa’s 90-run thrashing of England on Sunday as the Proteas completed a 2-1 series win.

The 32-year-old left-arm wrist-spinner took 5-24 as England, set 192 for victory, collapsed to 101 all out with 20 balls to spare at Southampton after losing their last eight wickets for 49 runs.

Earlier, in-form South Africa opener Reeza Hendricks hit 70 — his third fifty of the series — and Aiden Markram made an unbeaten 51 as the Proteas posted a competitive 191-5.

Recalled left-arm quick David Willey took 3-25.

Shamsi’s haul was all the more impressive given his expensive return of 0-49 in England’s series-opening win in Bristol.

But South Africa have been much improved in the field since that 41-run defeat and this win gave them a first T20 series success in England, as well as their first white-ball bilateral series victory in the country since 1998.

By contrast, defeat left England still searching for a first series win under new white-ball captain Jos Buttler following one-day international and T20 reverses against India and a drawn ODI campaign with the Proteas.

Jonny Bairstow (27) was the only England batsman to make more than 20, but Buttler and white-ball coach Matthew Mott do have at least seven matches at this level scheduled in Pakistan in September in which to turn things around before the T20 World Cup in Australia.

England’s chase suffered an early setback when Buttler was out for 14, caught at short third man off spinner Keshav Maharaj.

The out-of-form Jason Roy fell for 17, caught behind off Anrich Nortje — in after South Africa decided against risking fellow fast bowler Kagiso Rabada’s injured ankle ahead of next month’s three-Test series in England.

And when Moeen Ali was brilliantly caught one-handed by a leaping Tristan Stubbs off part-time spinner Markram, the hosts were 59-4.

Shamsi then cleaned up Liam Livingstone before taking two wickets in two balls, with Sam Curran caught in the deep before Willey was clean bowled.

Chris Jordan survived the hat-trick only to be lbw to Shamsi. Adil Rashid holed out off Shamsi before Maharaj ended the match when he dismissed Bairstow with the aid of a catch by David Miller — a memorable way for the South Africa captain to finish his 100th T20 international.

England’s decision to recall Willey in place of Richard Gleeson reaped an early reward when he had potential danger man Quinton de Kock chopping onto his stumps for a three-ball duck.

But South Africa recovered, with the Proteas 53-1 at the end of the powerplay. Hendricks completed a 42-ball fifty and he then upped the tempo with three boundaries in a 16th over bowled by Curran.

He was eventually well caught by wicketkeeper Buttler off the expensive Jordan (1-52).

But Markram, back in South Africa’s T20 team for the first time since last year’s World Cup, having first provided solid support, went on to a 36-ball fifty before Miller chipped in with a quickfire 22.

Trump’s Lawyers Are Prepping for a DOJ Criminal Charge: Report

  • Trump’s legal team is prepping a defense strategy in case the DOJ charges him, per Rolling Stone.
  • Sources told Rolling Stone that Trump was briefed on the possible legal options he could take.
  • Rolling Stone’s sources said Trump’s lawyers have also discussed finding scapegoats for him.

Former President Donald Trump’s legal team is preparing for the possibility of Trump being criminally charged by the Justice Department, according to Rolling Stone.

The outlet spoke to three people familiar with the matter and looked at written communications regarding the issue.

Per the sources, Trump’s lawyers have been looking at possible strategies to help the former president. The sources told Rolling Stone that this process gained steam following former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s explosive testimony in June before the House January 6 Committee investigating the Capitol riot.

Hutchinson described in detail what she knew of Trump’s behavior behind the scenes on January 6, 2021, which included allegations that Trump had tried to choke a Secret Service agent after his request to be brought to the Capitol was denied.

“Members of the Trump legal team are quietly preparing, in the event charges are brought,” one of Rolling Stone’s sources told the outlet. “It would be career malpractice not to.”

Per the outlet, the source added that Trump’s lawyers don’t trust that everything Cassidy said was true, nor do they think that the DOJ believes it is wise to charge Trump. However, the source added that things have “gotten to the point” where the former president’s interests would be best served by preparing for the likelihood of criminal charges being filed.

Another source who spoke to Rolling Stone said that Trump’s team might opt to pin the blame for the Capitol riot on other people.

According to the source, the Trump team has been deliberating if Trump’s former advisors — such as Mark Meadows or lawyer John Eastman — could be potential scapegoats.

“Trump got some terrible advice from attorneys who, some people would argue, should have or must have known better,” the source told Rolling Stone. “An ‘advice of counsel’ defense would be a big one.”

The January 6 committee said in June that it had enough evidence to ask the DOJ to indict Trump.

For his part, Attorney General Merrick Garland has rebuffed speculation that the DOJ is holding back on probing potential crimes concerning the Capitol riot. I have also told NBC in July that a Trump presidential campaign in 2024 would not protect him from possible federal charges.

However, legal and political experts have divided opinions on whether or not Trump will be indicted.

In the meantime, Trump has asked an appeals court to give him “absolute presidential immunity” from civil lawsuits linked to the Capitol riot.

Day Four, live blog, Aussies in action, Emma McKeon, full schedule, Cody Simpson, when do they swim, Diamonds, Hockeyroos, results

LIVE: Emma McKeon has cruised into another final as the Australian swim sensation continues her assault on the history books on Day Four of the Commonwealth Games.

On Day 3, McKeon broke the Commonwealth Games record with a stunning 11th career gold medal, and her meet isn’t finished yet with more medals still up for grabs.

In the swim finals scheduled for Tuesday morning (AEST), McKeon heads a raft of Australians including Kyle Chalmers, who withdrew from one event to prioritize the massive 100m freestyle final.

Follow all the action from Day Four at the Commonwealth Games in our LIVE BLOG below! See the full schedule at the bottom.

McKeon once again hit the pool on Day Four in the women’s 100m freestyle heats, with fellow Aussies Shayna Jack and Mollie O’Callaghan also successfully qualifying for the semi-finals.

O’Callaghan qualified first in 54.28s, ahead of Jackthird in a comfortable 54.28s.

“I was definitely trying to hold back,” Jack said after her race.

McKeon only managed third-fastest in her heat and sixth-fastest overall as she cruised to the finish in 55.36s.

The 28-year-old won the same event at the Tokyo Games last year and is a massive chance of doing the same in Birmingham.

ALL-TIME COMEBACK FALLS JUST SHORT

Australia’s men’s triples lawn bowls team came within an inch of pulling off one of the all-time great comebacks only to fall just short in a gold medal heartbreak.

Barry Lester, Carl Healey and Ben Twist – all sporting brilliant gold-dyed haircuts – were down by as many as 12-1 to England’s team of Louis Ridout, Nick Brett and Jamie Chestney.

But the Aussies charged back into the fight as the home side began to fall apart, with Australia snagging four in the 12th end en route to tying the scores up at 12 apiece.

England didn’t score from the ninth end until the 16th, but claimed a single on that second-last leg and then did the same on the last leg – after Australia missed a host of chances at the death.

DIAMONDS DEMOLISH SA… BUT COP BIG BLOW

In easily their toughest test of the Commonwealth Games so far, the gold-medal-favorite Diamonds went up a gear to defeat South Africa 74-49.

From the start, the Diamonds were in fine form, shooting with outstanding accuracy and harrying the South Africans all over the court with exceptional pressure.

Australia is undefeated after three Pool A games. They play Wales tomorrow before a huge match with more-than-dark-horses Jamaica.

But a calf injury to Paige Hadley, who had played just 15 minutes in the second game after missing the opener, looms as a potentially defining moment in their campaign.

AUSSIE ROBBED IN WILD HEARTBREAK

Kyle Bruce has been controversially robbed of a gold medal in the men’s 81kg weightlifting after a heartbreaking judges’ decision.

23-year-old Bruce was a gifted rugby flanker who only entered the gym to improve his ability on the field, before swapping to weightlifting full time and going on to claim a silver medal four years ago.

This time around, I have finished second in the snatch portion of the competition by lifting 143kg before twice failing to lift 147kg.

He successfully lifted 180kg in the clean-and-jerk portion for a stunning total of 323kg which had him in a second. Then, with the gold medal on the line, he attempted to lift 183kg on his final attempt.

He struggled with the lift and was wobbling, but was initially given three green lights from the judges to indicate a successful lift… only to have it overturned almost immediately afterwards by the jury, who spotted a small movement of Bruce’s left elbow.

That relegated him to a silver medal, behind England’s Chris Murray in a Games Record 325kg total.

He said: “It got overruled for a press-out. I haven’t seen the video so I’m not sure. But sometimes this is how sport goes and you know, congratulations to Chris on winning it

“He was the good lifter on the day and I just got a bit unlucky there, but it is what it is, I’m humble in defeat and I’m happy.”

He adds: “Coming away with a silver, not gonna lie, is quite disappointing… I’ll be ready for 2026. I’ll come back and I’ll have some redemption.”

CHALMERS WITHDRAWS AS AUSSIES SURGE INTO MORE FINALS

Kyle Chalmer has withdrawn from the 100m butterfly so that he can focus on his 100m freestyle final in the evening session.

His scintillating semi-final swim last night (local) has him the firm favorite to claim gold in his favored event, and it’s no surprise he’s going all-in.

Teammate Cody Simpson qualified fifth for the semi-finals in 52.47s, just behind fourth-placed Matt Temple, the Australian record holder touching in 52.28s.

“It’s a great heat swim for him,” Ian Thorpe declared on Channel 7 of Temple.

Simpson has already won a gold medal for his involvement in the first heat of the men’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay, although he did not swim in the final.

McKeown won the event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the recent 2022 World Championships in Budapest.

She also reached the final of the women’s 200m individual medley, qualifying behind Abbey Harkin in equal fourth with 2:13.24 and Ella Ramsay in km in 2:14.03. McKeown was seventh in 2:14.23s.

All three Aussies also qualified for the Women’s 100m Breaststroke semi-finals: Chelsea Hodge fourth in 1:07.68, Jenna Strauch fifth in 1:07.80, and Abbey Harkin sixth in 1:07.85.

debutante Grayson Bell qualified for the semi-finals of the men’s 50m breastroke in fifth after winning his heat in a personal best 27.63s. Sam Williamson won his own heat in 27.20s to qualify third-fastest. Joshua Young also qualified with his 27.96s.

Recent world championships silver medalist Lani Pallister qualified first for the final of the women’s 800m freestyle with a strong 8:32.67s. Ariarne Titmus qualified second-fastest with a very measured 8:36.17. Kiah Melverton was fourth-fastest in 8:40.29. Could we see another podium sweep?
