Both motherboards are equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and 2.5G LAN networking, also offering PCIe Gen5 storage support. The X670E Carbon will also support Gen5 graphics cards and has more advanced power delivery (18+2 phase 90A vs 14+2 80A on the PRO).

The MPG Carbon isn’t the flagship MSI though. MSI is also working on MEG Ace and Godlike series which have even more powerful power design (22+2+1 phase), faster Ethernet (up to 10GbE) and even have onboard information display (Godlike). The pricing for the MEG series has not been leaked yet though.

Target might sell you a $270 Pixel 6 Pro at clearance

Until the fall, the Pixel 6 Pro is still Google’s flagship phone, but Target (in the US) looks to already be aggressively discounting the device to $270, if you’re lucky.

In the past week, two reports have emerged of people at Target being able to buy a 128GB Pixel 6 Pro for $270 instead of $899, which is still the price online at the Google Store and other retailers (including the Target website).

[Update 8/14: On Sunday, the unlocked Pixel 6 Pro was discounted to $649 on the Google Store, Amazon, and other places, while the Pixel 6 is currently $499 (Google Store, Amazon) until September 5.

Some – not all – Target stores have put the Pixel 6 Pro on “Clearance.” It appears that this is happening at stores where inventory is running low (down to 1 or 2 devices).

The first report (from Florida) came on August 5. Notably, the initial clearance sale was to $449.50 – or half off on the box – but it came out to $269.70 at the register.

Meanwhile, a second report said that upon checking last week, the Pixel 6 Pro was priced at $449.50. A week later (August 13), this Redditor was also able to buy at $269.70.

How you might get a $270 Pixel 6 Pro at Target

This is a ridiculously good deal for a solid phone and you should jump on it if available in your area. The Pixel 6 Pro has a 6.7-inch 1440 x 3120 OLED (at 512 PPI and 120Hz) and Google Tensor chip with 12GB of RAM.

The main rear lens is a 50MP Octa PD Quad Bayer wide (82° FOV) camera that’s paired with a 114° 12MP camera and 48 MP telephoto with 4x optical zoom, while there’s an 11.1MP 94° ultrawide front-facer. The rear camera shoots up to 4K60 and the selfie cam is 4K30 or 1080p60.

Again, your mileage will vary. Check Target’s Pixel 6 Pro listing here and look at stores in your area. The Google phone is already sold out at most locations, while Stormy Black looks to be the only available color.

Your best bet for finding the clearance price is going to Target stores with low inventory: “only 1-x left.” However, don’t be surprised if you see empty shelves. If you do find a Pixel 6 Pro, visit the store and ask about the cost. Units on clearance have a yellow sticker noting the $270 price.

2023 BMW X5 M Rendering Sharpens Up The Performance SUV

With BMW’s lineup being this vast, there’s always an LCI or a next-generation model around the corner. Even though 2022 is proving to be one of the company’s busiest years in terms of launches, 2023 is already shaping up to be just as prolific. The 5 Series G60 will likely be the most important, but let’s keep in mind the X5 is due for a mid-cycle update.

Many spy shots have revealed BMW is hard at work preparing styling revisions for the X5 M. It’s set to receive a redesigned (and illuminated) front grille without being unnecessarily too large. Although the bigger X7 now boasts split headlights that are also being worked on for the XM, that won’t be the case with the X5 as prototypes clearly had one-piece lights. However, some changes are in order as we’ve noticed the clusters on these test vehicles were significantly slimmer.

The X5 LCI’s facelift is certainly going to be less drastic than the X7’s, and one would argue that’s for the better. Redesigned bumpers and new graphics for the taillights are also in order, but nothing to write home about. Chances are the full-fat M model will have a new look for the quad exhausts since BMW has been making changes in this area. As a refresher, even M Performance models will soon transition to four tips, with the X1 M35i and M135i LCI leading the way.

As far as hardware changes, the X5 xDrive40i is rumored to get the B58B30M2 engine with 370 horsepower on tap. On the diesel side, the B57 (TÜ3 revision) straight-six diesel for the xDrive40d sold in Europe is expected to have 295 hp. As we’ve already seen with the X7 facelift, the M50i will be dropped in favor of the M60i with the newly developed S68 mild-hybrid engine. A more powerful xDrive50e is in the offing with 480 hp.

What about the X5M? It too will make the switch to the 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo S68 with a mild-hybrid setup but just about the same horsepower and torque as before. However, the electric boost should partially offset the turbo lag for more low-end muscle in the lower rpms. It is believed the range-topping derivative will be sold strictly as a Competition model. Needless to say, all of these changes are also earmarked for the rakish X6 as well.

The X5 LCI is believed to enter production at the Spartanburg plant in April 2023, so the official premiere could take place in late 2022 or early next year.

Further down the line, next-generation G65 X5 and iX5, G66 X6 and iX6, G67 X7, and iX7 on the CLAR platform are expected.

Security Expert Reveals Two Big Security Flaws in Zoom

Whether it’s for work or recreation, Zoom has become a much bigger part of our lives since the beginning of 2020. And with remote work continuing to be a presence in many people’s lives, that seems unlikely to change in the short term. But as with any application that people depend on, there are security questions to be mindful of when using Zoom — and one cybersecurity researcher recently raised two significant ones.

At this year’s DEF CON, a hacker conference held in Las Vegas, cybersecurity expert Patrick Wardle revealed a pair of security issues with Zoom that could have significant consequences for people with Zoom installed on their Mac.

As Engadget reports, Warldle pointed out that the security check Zoom uses could be exploited in such a way that a hacker would have access to the root directory of a Mac. Wardle told Zoom about the issue, but apparently Zoom’s method of fixing it created another vulnerability — one which could cause an older and less secure version of Zoom to be installed instead of the most recent version.

Thankfully, Zoom is aware of these issues. The company told The Verge that they are at work now on a patch that will resolve them.

In our review of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PC, we said: “This is an excellent PC port with Steam Deck support that elevates it to a must-own for anyone with Valve’s portable. While Sony may never make a PlayStation Vita 2, if its support of the Steam Deck continues as more and more PlayStation exclusives migrate to PC, it’ll soon feel like the next-generation Sony handheld many of us have always wanted.”

The remastered version of Spider-Man is developed by Nixxes, which Sony acquired last year, and will be released for PC on August 12, 2022.

In a post on the PlayStation blog, Head of Franchise Strategy & Studio Relations, Insomniac Games, Ryan Schneider added: “We’re grateful to our PlayStation Studios partner studio Nixxes Software for fully optimizing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC.

“Our production team has been thrilled with Nixxes’ collaborative spirit and commitment to quality. We see a lot of ourselves when working with Nixxes.”

Jurjen Katsman, Nixxes’ Founder and Senior Director of Development said of working on the project: “I am extremely pleased with our collaboration with Insomniac on the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, the shared support provided between our teams and their dedication to quality above all is inspiring.”
