How to Take a Screenshot on a OnePlus Smartphone

A screenshot is the easiest way to capture the contents on your phone’s screen and share it with others. However, depending on the smartphone you use, there will be different ways you can take a screenshot on it.

As a result, if you’ve recently switched phones, you might be wondering how to capture screenshots on it. If it’s a OnePlus smartphone, there are multiple ways to do this.

Follow along as we list down all the different methods to take a screenshot on a OnePlus smartphone.

Method 1: Take a Screenshot on a OnePlus Phone Using Hardware Keys

One of the most common methods of capturing a screenshot on Android devices is to use the hardware keys. OnePlus smartphones also employ this method, and it’s pretty convenient.

With this method, you simply need to press a key combination, and the device immediately captures the screen. Here are the steps to take a screenshot using the hardware method:

  1. Open the screen you want to capture on your phone.
  2. Press the Volume Down and Power key together quickly and release them as soon as your phone screen flashes.

Once captured, you’ll see a screenshot preview in the screen’s bottom-left or bottom-right, depending on where you set the preview window location.

Click it to open it for editing. Or press the Compartir button to open sharing options to send the screenshot. If you missed clicking on the preview in time, you could swipe down on the status bar to access the screenshot in the notification bar.

Clicking on the screenshot also gives you multiple editing options, such as crop, markup, text, and many more, which you can use to annotate, highlight, or crop your screenshot. Hit Save after you’ve finished editing to save the screenshot image.

Captured screenshots are saved to the screenshots album in the Photos app.

Method 2: Take a Screenshot on a OnePlus Phone Using Gestures

OnePlus offers a bunch of gestures on its smartphones to give you quick access to various system features. There’s also a dedicated gesture for taking screenshots, which makes screenshotting much easier than the hardware-based method.

First, follow these steps to enable gesture screenshotting on your OnePlus phone:

  1. Open Settings and go to System settings > Screenshot.
  2. Toggle on the switch for 3-finger swipe down and 3-finger touch and hold screenshot options.
enabling gesture screenshot on a oneplus phone

Now, you can capture the screenshot using gestures like this:

  1. Open the screen to capture.
  2. Yo. To screenshot the entire screen: Swipe down with 3 fingers on the screen.
ii. To screenshot part of the screen: Tap and hold with three fingers on the screen to bring up the area selection. Drag down to select the area and lift your fingers to capture it. To re-adjust your selection, move the selected box up or down on the screen and tap the tick button on the top-right corner to save it.

How to Take a Scrolling Screenshot on a OnePlus Device

At times, taking a regular screenshot or capturing one of a selected area might just not be enough. For example, if you’re on a screen with a long list of items, perhaps an article on a website, a settings page, or a long chat, and you want to capture all of them, you need the scrolling screenshot functionality.

Here’s how to take a scrolling screenshot on a OnePlus phone:

  1. Open the screen with content that goes beyond a single page.
  2. Take a screenshot using either hardware buttons or the 3-finger swipe.
  3. Once the screenshot is taken, click on the Scroll button below the screenshot preview, and it will automatically start capturing the entire screen.

  4. Hit donate at the bottom to save the captured screenshot. If you don’t wish to capture the entirety of the page, swipe up or down on the captured page to adjust the capture length.

  5. Hit the checkmark in the top-right corner to save the screenshot.

Never Miss A Screenshot Opportunity Again

Screenshotting is possibly one of the best features on any device, including smartphones. It’s a sure-shot way to record what’s displayed on your screen, be it from an app, a picture, or a frame in a video.

With OxygenOS, you get multiple ways to take screenshots on your OnePlus smartphone, as we discussed earlier in this post. So now, the next time you come across something interesting/informative on your screen, you can take a screenshot of it easily and save it for future reference.

FAQs About Taking Screenshots on OnePlus Smartphones

Screenshots are saved to the Screenshots album in the Photos app. To access them via a file manage, navigate to Internal Storage > Pictures > Screenshots.

While the hardware-based screenshot method is really helpful, it can sometimes accidentally capture a screenshot when you don’t need it. If this keeps happening to you, you can disable the screenshot shortcut and rely on the gesture-based method instead.

Here’s how to turn off the screenshot shortcut:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to System Settings and select screenshot.
  3. Toggle off the switch for Power and Volume Down buttons.

Patrick Cripps to face match review scrutiny over hit on Callum Ah Chee

It left trump cards Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay all but toothless, at least until Carlton seized the initiative late in the contest and gave them a chance to make an impact. But by then it was too late.

Their best players were in defence, which was not surprising, given how busy they were kept. Jacob Weitering held Joe Daniher goalless and almost kickless and Adam Saad, in his 150th game, had the better of his duel with Charlie Cameron.

Captain Dayne Zorko led from the front with his most influential game of the year, and Zac Bailey was electric with four goals. Lachie Neale, as usual, was quick and clean, and finished with 32 possessions.

The Lions’ midfield, which has been unsettled all year, lifted and dominated Carlton, especially early. Oscar McInerney’s physicality was important in the ruck, as was Mathieson at ground level, and center clearances finished 24-8 the Lions’ way.

Other fine contributors were McStay, who finished with four goals and seven marks, while Jarrod Berry and Hugh McCluggage also worked hard around the contest.

Hot mic catches Dem Sen. Sherrod Brown snap at Bernie Sanders’ child tax credit bid

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) was caught on a hot mic snapping “Come on, Bernie” early Sunday as tensions flared on the Senate floor over Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders’ bid to replenish the child tax credit.

Sanders offered the amendment, which would have raised the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28%, during the “vote-a-rama” session where Democrats pushed to pass their massive tax, health care and climate bill, dubbed the “Inflation Reduction Act.”

“This is the wealthiest nation on Earth, we should not have the highest rate of childhood poverty of almost any country,” Sanders said in remarks from the floor.

Sanders’ move to push for the tax credit of $300 per month for the next five years after it lapsed near the end of 2021, drew pushback from Democrats he caucuses with, who noted they couldn’t support it as they focused on pushing through the full bill, which later passed 51-50, with Vice President Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaking vote.

“We know that this is a fragile arrangement, and we’ve got to pass it — as much as I’d like to do [a corporate tax increase],” Brown said.

His time elapsed but he was caught saying “Come on, Bernie!” on his mic from him, according to Mediaite.

Sen. Michael Bennet, of Colorado, also said voting with Sanders “could lose the underlying bill.”

The amendment failed 1-97, with only Sanders backing it.

Brown and Bennet both have long advocated putting the tax credit back in place, but rebuffed Sanders’ appeal because they said it threatened the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, according to The Hill.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., questions witnesses during a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee hearing to examine an update on the ongoing Federal response to COVID-19, June 16, 2022, on Capitol Hill in Washington.

The child tax credit was included in the American Rescue Plan passed last year.

Other amendments proposed by Sanders were also overwhelmingly rejected, including greatly expanding the bill’s number of prescription drugs eligible for price negotiation under Medicare for the elderly and widening Medicare coverage for eyeglasses, hearing aids and dental care.

Sanders was less than thrilled with the overall substance of the bill.

“I want to take a moment to say a few words about the so-called ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ that we are debating this evening,” Sanders said Saturday night. “And I say ‘so-called’ by the way because according to the (Congressional Budget Office) and other economic organizations that have studied the bill it will have a minimal impact on inflation.”

Debate on the $433 billion legislation opened Saturday when Harris broke a tiebreaker in the Senate chambers, clearing a hurdle for the Senate to pass the bill and send it to the House for a vote.

India beat South Africa 3-2 in men’s hockey semi-finals

India won a hard-fought match against South Africa 3-2 to qualify for the men’s hockey final of the Commonwealth Games on Saturday.

Abhishek (20th minute), Mandeep Singh (28th) and Jugraj Singh (58th) scored for India, while South Africa’s goals came from Ryan Julius (33rd) and Mustapha Cassiem (59th).

Going by form and rankings, it was expected to be an easy match for India but it didn’t turn out that way, courtesy South Africa goalkeeper Gowan Jones, who put out a superlative performance.

Had it not been for Jones’ brilliant display, the scoreline could have been much bigger in favor of the India.

CWG Day 9 LIVE Updates

India were on the offensive from the word go and dominated possession for the majority of the first two quarters. They had plenty of circle penetrations and chances in the first quarter but goals eluded them with Jones standing like a rock in front of the goal.

He denied India’s star drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh from converting as many as four penalty corners in the first half to keep his side in the game. Jones’ anticipation and reflexes were a treat to watch as he pulled off save after save.

Not only penalty corners, Jones was also solid in front of the goal from open play as he kept out Shamsher Singh’s try from close range in the 10th minute after he was set by Akashdeep Singh. Seconds later Jones pulled off another stunning reflex save to deny Akashdeep.

South Africa looked to have got some rhythm in the second quarter and secured three penalty corners in quick succession but India’s reserve goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak was up to the task.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 20th minute when Abhishek scored with a smashing reverse hit from the top of the circle to finally beat Jones.

Minutes later, Jones once again came to his side’s rescue, blocking Amit Rohidas’ fierce shot and then stopping Akashdeep’s reverse shot.

But India doubled their lead in the 28th minute through Mandeep, who scored a fine goal after being fed by Gurjant Singh. They secured another penalty corner two minutes after the change of ends but wasted it.

South Africa looked more determined after the change of ends and reduced the margin three minutes after restart through Julius who scored of a rebound from a penalty corner.

Jones was in top form as he pulled off another fine save off Abhishek in the 38th minute.

South Africa were not to be bogged down as they penetrated the Indian circle multiple times and secured penalty corners but failed to breach the defence.

In the 41st minute, Jones made another brilliant save to keep out Jarmanpreet Singh’s effort from India’s sixth set piece.

In the final quarter, India tried to play the possession game and focussed on defending as South Africa pressed hard.

With four minutes to go, South Africa withdrew Jones and India utilized the chance to extend their lead with Jugraj slamming home from a penalty corner.

South Africa threatened India when Cassiem scored with a reverse hit to make it 3-2. India, however, managed to hold on to their lead to seal a final berth after 2014 edition, where they came second best to Australia.

India will play the winner of the second semi-final between Australia and England in the final on Sunday.

Statement by President Biden on Senate Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act

Today, Senate Democrats sided with American families over special interests, voting to lower the cost of prescription drugs, health insurance, and everyday energy costs and reduce the deficit, while making the wealthiest corporations finally pay their fair share. Iran for President promising to make government work for working families again, and that is what this bill does — period.

This bill caps seniors’ out of pocket spending for prescription drugs at $2000 per year – no matter what their drug bills would otherwise be, seniors will not have to spend more than $2000. In addition, 13 million Americans, covered under the Affordable Care Act, will see their health insurance premiums reduced by $800.

This bill tackles inflation by lowering the deficit and lowering costs for regular families.

This bill also makes the largest investment ever in combatting the existential crisis of climate change. It addresses the climate crisis and strengthens our energy security, creating jobs manufacturing solar panels, wind turbines, and electric vehicles in America with American workers. It lowers families’ energy costs by hundreds of dollars each year.

Finally, it pays for all this by establishing a minimum corporate tax so that our richest corporations start to pay their fair share. It does not raise taxes on those making under $400,000 a year – not one cent.

I want to thank Leader Schumer and every member of the Senate Democratic caucus for supporting this bill. It required many compromises. Doing important things almost always does.

The House should pass this as soon as possible and I look forward to signing it into law.

The Rise Of Steam Deck Alternatives Is Growing Larger

So it has been some time since the Steam Deck has been out and quite a few people have started getting their hands on Valve’s latest new invention. The man himself, Gabe Newell went out to hand-deliver people their Steam Decks in Seattle, even giving out many of them away for the low cost of nothing.

One of the best things that the Steam Deck does, even beyond just providing the powers of a handheld console, is that Nintendo finally has a bar to live up to. They are no longer the bar itself, while Nintendo still thrives in the quality of its exclusive titles, there are just as many people who buy the Nintendo Switch solely to play third-party indie titles.

But today, it seems that even more competition have entered the arena. The Ayeneo Air is a new alternative, and it does not disappoint. At almost half the size of the Steam Deck and standing at around 400 pounds, coupled with it able to fit in your pocket, it actually lives up to its own name.

It is truly a marvel, having actual practical use with it being small, compact, and light, things like these go a long way to the consumer. But this is not the only one of interest. The All-New ONEXPLAYER Mini is another small and compact handheld gaming pc is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U.

Games like Forza Horizon 5, God Of War, Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077 work on this Handheld console at a very decent 60-100 frames with a good battery life. Emulation is also possible differentiating it from other alternatives.

This just shows that other industries have a chance to pull off some great work. Of course the Steam Deck is amazing, these other alternates do much of the same, maybe even better. What do you think of these handheld PCs? let us know in the comments below.

Adam Simpson pays tribute to Josh Kennedy after kicking eight goals during last AFL game for West Coast Eagles

West Coast coach Adam Simpson has marveled at Josh Kennedy’s extraordinary performance in his final game after he kicked eight goals to write himself into AFL history.

No player in the history of the national competition has kicked more goals in his final match and only Fred Fanning, who kicked a VFL record 18 goals in 1947 before walking away from the Melbourne Football Club as a 25-year-old, had a better last game than Kennedy.

“Can you imagine kicking eight goals in your last game? It will probably never happen again,” Simpson said.

“I was just so happy for him and for what the boys were trying to do. To get rewarded and have a game like that – unfortunately we couldn’t get that last bit and get the four points.”

Kennedy turned back the clock with his effort during the 16-point loss to Adelaide. He hadn’t kicked eight goals in a game since 2016. No player had managed eight goals throughout the league this season and Kennedy equaled Lance Franklin’s record for the most goals at Optus Stadium.

He said it became obvious early that his teammates wanted him to finish his career with a bag of goals.

“Someone handballed to Boots, he was shoulders out and we had JD long inside the 50 and he looked inboard to try to handball it back to me. That was probably the moment,” Kennedy said.

“I’m so grateful I was able to finish on my terms thanks to Simmo and the club. To be able to have a game like that where, even though we didn’t get the win, it was great to be out there. It was a good answer.”

An emotional Kennedy said he felt numb at the end of the match. He ran onto the field with his children from him, through a guard of honor from family and friends, then had his mum toss the coin. Kennedy also wore a black arm band and pointed to it after a goal as a tribute to his best friend’s Nanna who recently passed away.

Former West Coast teammates Mark LeCras, Adam Selwood and Quinten Lynch were among the 50,117 people in attendance, along with ex-coach John Worsfold.

Luke Shuey and Shannon Hurn chaired Kennedy from the field before he did a lap of honor after the match.

While he dominated, Kennedy said his body reminded him of why he retired.

“The knee is a little bit sore,” he said.

“The knee was the same as it always has been. You feel good early and then it slowly starts to kick in after a few knocks. I won’t have to get up for more games now so I’ll be able to rest it and settle down. Hopefully it gets mended over the next couple of months.”

Going to the Ekka? Here are the best ways to avoid getting sick with COVID-19, monkeypox or the flu

As throngs of people flock to the Ekka showgrounds, authorities are concerned about a potential spike in COVID-19 and influenza cases in the Queensland community.

A string of illnesses remain in the community with COVID cases still high, the flu season not yet over and cases of monkeypox being reported interstate.

With some 1,300 head of cattle at the showgrounds, health authorities have also added a potentially devastating foot-and-mouth-disease outbreak to their list of concerns, though the risk remains low.

Back after a two-year COVID-induced hiatus, Ekka crowds have exceeded expectations with people steadily streaming through the gates.

Virologist Lara Herrero said the Ekka event would inevitably lead to a spike in transmission of both COVID and the flu.

“I have absolutely no doubt there will be an increase in transmission for an event like that — it’s simple mathematics,” she said.

Dr Lara Herrero in the lab wearing a lab gown.
Lara Herrero says the Ekka is likely to cause a jump in cases. (Supplied: Griffith University)

So how can you safely hit the Ekka to devour a dagwood dog without getting sick?

Here are Dr Herrero’s five key pieces of advice:

1. Don’t get slack

Dr Herrero reminded those hitting the show to stay vigilant by employing all the usual tactics.

“Monitor for any symptoms at all,” she said.

“Try your best to keep that 1.5 meters of social distancing where you can.

“Bring your own alcohol wipes and hand sanitiser.

“Avoid shaking hands and hugging — I would still opt to first bump or wave.”

2. Wear a mask

People stand in front of toys at a show.

You know the drill.

Free masks will be available upon entry to the showgrounds. If in doubt, mask up.

Queensland Agriculture Minister Mark Furner said he was impressed with the “reasonable amount of people wearing a mask”.

“Bring your mask along or get one on entry, make sure your protected and you’ll have no issues,” he said.

Queensland Health has encouraged everyone at the Ekka to wear a face mask, “not only for themselves but for every other person who is there to celebrate safely”.

Dr Herrero said she had no doubt people who live in the regions that come to the Ekka and return home to regional and rural areas will bring infection back with them.

“We have more cases in the city because we have more people, we’re living in a high-density community with more cases.

“So by sheer numbers, I have no doubt transmission on the regions will go up.

“It’s a good idea for those people returning to regional and remote areas to wear a mask for 24-48 hours to stop transmission to vulnerable people”

3. Stay away if unwell

“The Ekka is all about community spirit so if you have any symptoms, no matter how mild, have a bit of community spirit and stay at home,” Dr Herrero said.

Mr Furner advised anyone feeling under the weather to stay well away from the showgrounds, get tested and isolate.

“We don’t want people coming here spreading illness, whether it be the flu or COVID,” he said.

“Keep away if you’re feeling unwell and get tested.”

4. Wash your shoes and clothes of foreign dirt

People look at animals at royal show.
Ekka show visitors should maintain good hand hygiene when playing with the agricultural animals amid fears of a foot-and-mouth-disease outbreak.(ABC News: Marton Dobras)

The Ekka show is the largest showing of stud beef in the southern hemisphere with some 1,300 head of cattle at the showgrounds.

This has sparked fears of a foot-and-mouth-disease outbreak that could cost the industry an estimated $80 billion.

Federal Agriculture Minister Murray Wyatt estimated there was an 11.6 per cent risk of a potentially devastating outbreak occurring which would trigger a 72-hour national livestock standstill and longer-term movement controls on animals.

A preventive task force has been established with border security on-site.

Dr Herrero strongly advised people who live in agricultural areas to wash their shoes and clothes of dirt or mud from any other agricultural region to avoid an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease.

With one case of monkeypox recorded in Queensland, authorities are also asking patrons to stay vigilant and monitor for symptoms.

5. Get vaccinated

With a little more than three weeks of winter remaining, most of you would have had your COVID and flu vaccines by now.

the fourth COVID vaccine orwinter shot” is available for all Australians over the age of 30, as well as:

  • People aged 16 years and above who are severely immunocompromised
  • People aged 16 years and above who have a medical condition that increases the risk of severe COVID-19 illness
  • People aged 16 years and above who have disabilities with significant, complex, or multiple health issues, which increase the risk of poor outcomes from COVID-19 infection.

Kentucky candidates struggle when describing 2020 election

FANCY FARM, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Republicans came to the state’s premier political event this weekend attempt on winning elections in November and beyond, but some candidates aspiring to become governor had a hard time coming to terms with Donald Trump’s defeat in 2020.

They gave parsed or tortured responses when asked if Democrat Joe Biden’s victory over Trump for the presidency was fairly decided. Their tiptoeing was a sign of Trump’s continued hold on many in the GOP, including in Kentucky, which he easily carried twice.

That influence was evident Saturday as Trump supporters held large “Trump Won” signs as people gathered for the political speaking at the Fancy Farm picnic in western Kentucky. The signs — promoting Trump’s false claims of a rigged 2020 election — drew cheers from Republican faithful. The stump-style speaking at the picnic — shown on statewide TV — is a rite of passage for statewide candidates in Kentucky.

The GOP gubernatorial hopefuls will face off for the party’s nomination next May.

Trump has already weighed in on the Bluegrass State’s 2023 race for governor, endorsing GOP Attorney General Daniel Cameron. Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear, who is seeking a second term, skipped the picnic and spent Saturday consoling flood victims in eastern Kentucky.

Cameron pointed to the Trump endorsement during his picnic speech. But he bristled at questions during the weekend about the ex-president’s unsupported claims of widespread election fraud in 2020.

“The election was fair and secure here in Kentucky,” Cameron said to one of the questions from reporters. “Look, we’ve got to focus on the future. And that’s what this campaign’s about.”

Cameron, however, distanced himself from the views of some die-hard Trump supporters, who believe the 2020 presidential election results should be overturned.

“President Biden is the president of the United States. I don’t dispute that,” said Cameron, who as attorney general has joined multiple lawsuits challenging Biden administration policies.

Cameron, who worked for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and counts him as a mentor, also refused to discuss the Jan. 6 insurrection at the US Capitol. The House panel investigating the attack has laid the blame on Trump, saying the assault wasn’t spontaneous but an “attempted coup” and a direct result of the defeated president’s effort to overturn the election.

Instead of discussing the Capitol siege, Cameron pointed to 2020 demonstrations spurred by the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and other Black Americans in encounters with police. He said he doesn’t get asked about protests that destroyed property in some of the nation’s cities.

Cameron, who is Black, even cracked a joke about the Trump endorsement in his picnic speech — in true Fancy Farm form, where zingers and spoofs are not only common but expected.

“Now people have speculated about how I got that endorsement. So today I’m going to spill the beans. It was actually pretty easy. … All I had to do was assure Trump that Mitch McConnell is not Makenze’s grandfather, ”Cameron quipped, referring to his wife from him.

Cameron was the only gubernatorial candidate to mention Trump, whose endorsement had been coveted by other GOP candidates for governor, from the Fancy Farm stage.

In her picnic speech, state Rep. Savannah Maddox, another gubernatorial candidate, mentioned Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as an “authentic Republican” who will “fight for your constitutional rights and freedoms.”

Cameron wasn’t the only GOP candidate to struggle answering Trump-related questions.

Asked if he thinks Biden won fairly, Ryan Quarles replied that Kentucky had a “secure election” and that Trump “won tremendously” in the Bluegrass State. Quarles, the state agriculture commissioner, is also among the gubernatorial candidates seeking the GOP nomination to be decided next spring.

“I think that President Trump would be doing a lot better job than President Biden if he was in office today,” Quarles added.

Another gubernatorial hopeful, state Auditor Mike Harmon, gave a more than 140-word response when first asked if Biden won fairly. Harmon later said some key election-related “controls were taken off” but said he couldn’t “make an assessment one way or the other.”

Harmon said he wished there wasn’t an attack on the Capitol, but also pointed to the damage and destruction of property during police-related protests, saying there’s a lack of attention to that.

“Certainly, President Biden is serving as our president,” Harmon said later. “We need to pray for him just the same as we would pray for any of our presidents. And hopefully he provides guidance. There’s some things we wish he would do differently, obviously.”
