Italian Nonna Fina from TikTok tries Starbucks coffee for the first time

Italian Nonna’s VERY honest reaction to trying a Starbucks coffee for the first time: ‘I think this is her lowest rating yet’

  • Sydney TikToker Maddie recorded the moment her Nonna tried Starbucks coffee
  • In the video, Nonna Fina looks disgusted after the very first sip
  • ‘It doesn’t taste like coffee at all! It’s too sweet!’ Nonna said
  • She also described the coffee as ‘junk’ and ‘rubbish’

A granddaughter has captured the moment her Italian Nonna tried a Starbucks coffee for the first time.

Maddie, from Sydney, offered her now TikTok famous Nonna Fina a $5 caramel macchiato and asked for her honest opinion after the first sip.

‘No, I don’t like it. It doesn’t taste like coffee at all! It’s too sweet!’ Nonna said before scrunching up her face in disgust.

When asked what she would rate the drink out of 10, Nonna only gave it a four

With milk froth around her top lip, Nonna made it clear she wasn’t pleased at all with the sugary taste that overpowered the coffee.

‘You don’t need that much sugar in coffee. It’s junk coffee!’ she said before dubbing the hot drink as ‘rubbish’.

After being told it cost $5, Nonna said she wouldn’t drink it again even if it was free.

‘I’d say ‘thank you very much’, I’ll give you another $5 but YOU drink it,’ Nonna said.

When asked what she would rate the drink out of 10, Nonna only gave it a four – which Maddie described as the ‘lowest rating yet’.

In the comments other Aussies couldn’t help but agree with Nonna about how regular coffee is far nicer compared to sweetened Starbucks alternatives.

‘Nonna has never been more right,’ one person wrote, another added: ‘At least she gave it a go.’

A third said: ‘She is so nice with her rankings even though she didn’t like it.’

Another person compared Starbucks coffee to ‘milkshakes’ rather than coffee.

Maddie also added Nonna usually enjoys drinking espresso, which explains why the Starbucks drink was far too sweet for her.

In December last year, Maddie convinced her Nonna to try the Coles brand pasta after explaining she was going to eat it on toast with cheese for dinner.

In December last year, Maddie convinced her Nonna to try the Coles brand pasta after explaining she was going to eat it on toast with cheese for dinner

In a 20-second TikTok video, the Nonna seemed confused as to why Maddie was going to eat the pre-cooked pasta, which she deemed was only good to feed pets.

‘I thought you were giving it to the cat, this is very good for the cat,’ the Nonna said in the now-viral clip.

A second video followed showing the Nonna trying a tiny spaghetti string before rushing off in disgust saying ‘mamma mia’.

The first video has since exceeded more than 1.1million views, while the sequel has been watched half a million times.

‘Why do you want me to try this strange food?’ the Nonna asked and said it looked ‘fake’.

She instantly rushed off in disgust while Maddie can be heard laughing behind the camera in the video.

The Nonna said the pasta didn’t taste ‘al dente’ (cooked to perfection) at all and instead was awfully ‘mushy’.

Others agreed they too would ‘never’ try spaghetti in a tin because it’s ‘so gross’.

‘I’d finish my Crispix or pop-tarts and sit back down to Sailor Moon on Agro’s Cartoon Connection. We’d flick it over to Cheez TV for Pokémon and then some Dragon Ball Z before we had to leave,’ Brad wrote, adding how television commercials were all about kids toys.

‘We’d get into mums Nissan Bluebird and feed the Tamagotchi on the way to school with Alanis Morriset blaring. Front doors with Safety House signs along every house near school.

‘I’d get out with my Tazos and glow in the dark Odd-Bodds ready for a big day of hustling.’

Brad said on the way to school he would play a tamagotchi (pictured)

At school he would swap Tazos with friends, which were tiny disks featuring a picture of a character

Once at school Brad and his classmates would watch Behind the News and sometimes an episode of Round The Twist if they were lucky.

‘At recess I’d take a dollar to the canteen and f*ck them up by asking for 100 chocolate buddies or 20 Redskins to get us through the day,’ he joked.

During school reading time he would pick up a Goosebumps book then play marbles with friends.

‘After school we’d head down to the drain pipes or fire trail and we knew to be back by dark. We’d always just end up in a cul-de-sac till the adults yelled at us to come home,’ Brad continued.

‘If we stayed in, afternoon TV was the best. They’d have Power Rangers, Totally Wild and then the afternoon cartoons until the adults would make us watch the news at 5:30.

‘We’d watch the Simpsons at 6. Neighbors at 6:30 and Home & Away at 7:00.’

What is like being a kid in the 90s:

Watching Pokémon and Dragon Ball Z on Cheez TV before school

Reading Goosebumps novels in the library

Playing with a Tamagotchi and Tazos

Watching Behind the News and Round The Twist

Buying lollies for 20c at the school tuckshop

Writing a lunch order on a paper bag

Renting out movies and television shows from Blockbuster and Video Ezy

Watching The Simpsons at 6pm weeknights

Brad dubbed 7:30pm as the worst television time slot because only Better Homes & Gardens, Harry’s Practice or Getaway would be on – so instead they’d play.

‘We’d go record songs on the $35 cassette player we got from Parklea Markets with our birthday money. By 8:30pm the good sh*t like Buffy, Sliders or the X-Files would come on,’ he said.

Brad said the weekends would be start with watching Rage then Video Hits, followed by playing sports outside and ‘running amok’ with cousins.

‘There’d be sleepovers or a BBQ and we’d just shove mattresses on the lounge room floor. We’d watch Gladiators, Xena and then Hercules. After that the TV guide would tell us what the Saturday night movie would be. It was always a f*cking pearler,’ he said.

The social media post resonated with thousands who agreed the 90s was an ‘amazing’ period before everyone had a mobile phone.

‘Friday night trips to Video Ezy – my kids don’t even believe me when I tell them we had shops to hire videos. Kids now days really are missing out!!’ one woman commented.

‘Omg this seriously sums up my 90s childhood! If I wanted something to read or some cool as posters for my room I’d go down the deli and buy a smash hits or TV hits magazine!!’ another added.

A third said: ‘Those were the best days! Corner delis everywhere with 20c bags of lollies, use an iron to straighten our hair and we all knew where everyone was by the pile of bikes on the front lawn.’

Others also praised old television shows including Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Funniest Home Videos, Beverly Hills 90210 and Passions.

Nurse lists the five things she will NEVER do now that she has worked in ICU

An Australian nurse has shared the five things she will never do now that she has worked in the ICU.

A young healthcare worker from regional Victoria shared a TikTok video to the Bendigo Health page outlining some of the more heinous accidents she had witnessed people involved in during her time working in a hospital.

She started by announcing she will never ‘chop wood, mow the lawn or use a chainsaw in thongs’ given some of the horror injuries she had seen sustained as a result of this.

A young healthcare worker from regional Victoria shared a TikTok video to the Bendigo Health page outlining some of the more heinous accidents she had witnessed people involved in during her time working in a hospital

‘I’ll never ride a motorbike in only a singlet and footy shorts, go drinking and swimming, use petrol on a fire and put any objects in any orifices that they don’t belong in.’

Her light-hearted reminder to Australians to be safe when they’re engaging in potentially dangerous activities was well received by fans.

‘Don’t move to Cairns… I’ve never seen anyone mow a lawn in anything but bare feet. It horrifies me. Surely a steel capped boot job,’ one woman replied.

‘Me too and I work as a community nurse,’ another woman said.

In a separate video a hotelier described the ten things she would never do in a hotel room, knowing how regularly it is cleaned and what safety practices are followed.

TikTok user Evangeline shared two videos about her experiences working in an American hotel and what to watch out for when you book your next room.

TikTok user Evangeline shared a video about her experiences working in an American hotel and what to watch out for when you book your next room

TikTok user Evangeline shared a video about her experiences working in an American hotel and what to watch out for when you book your next room

Her first piece of advice was to always add every guest in the room to the reservation, so they can always get a key from the front desk, even if the primary booker isn’t with them.

‘If there is more than one person staying in the room I would never not add their name on the reservation,’ she said.

‘If the primary person happens to be gone and the other person gets locked out and they go to the front desk and their name isn’t on the room reservation they won’t be allowed in. They won’t get a key, period.’

Ten things you should NEVER do in a hotel, according to employee

  • Touch or sit on the bedspread sitting on top of the blankets and sheets
  • Use the ice bucket without a liner
  • Leave any guests’ names off the reservation otherwise they can’t get a key to access the room should the primary booker not be there
  • Drink from the glasses without washing them first
  • Use the TV remote without wiping it down
  • Walk around barefoot on carpeted floors
  • Use the shower without flip flops
  • Use a hotel washcloth
  • Say your room number out loud
  • Reject the chance to sign up for the hotel’s points program

Next, Evangeline moved onto hygiene tips, explaining that her in-depth understanding of the in-house cleaning process has prompted her to bring her own supplies with her whenever she stays in a hotel – and to do a quick wipe down of several key places as soon as she walks into a hotel room.

‘I would never use the remote control without wiping it down first with my own Clorox wipe,’ she said.

‘Your cleaning and my cleaning are different cleaning, you feel me?

‘I would never use the glasses in the room, I’m talking about the glasses in the room ready for you to use, I would never use them without washing them first.’

And while some might think that hotel points programs are just a gimmick, Evangeline insists that you should always sign up to accumulate points whenever you stay at a hotel.

‘I would never sign up for the point program, whatever point program that the hotel is offering,’ she said.

‘Back in the day, you used to really have to let some of the points accumulate to actually use them for something good. But these days they actually allow you to use them for other things such as Amazon points.’

When it comes to the bed, Evangeline shared that she would ‘never sit on the bedspread’, explaining that they often don’t get washed.

‘I would never sit on the bedspread,’ she said. ‘A bedspread is not the sheet, it’s not the blanket, it’s on top of that. That thing comes off the first minute I walk into the hotel. Those things are not washed often… those bedspreads get cleaned like maybe once a year so don’t sit on those.’

In a follow-up video, Evangeline shared several other words of warning with her followers, explaining that she never walks around a carpeted hotel or motel room without shoes on: ‘I would always have a pair of flip flops on… I would also not take a shower without wearing them.’

Evangeline said she wouldn’t ever use an ice bucket without putting a liner in first.

‘Some people just use the ice bucket as is without the liner, no don’t do that, put the liner in,’ she said.

'Some people just use the ice bucket as is without the liner, no don't do that, put the liner in,' she said

‘Some people just use the ice bucket as is without the liner, no don’t do that, put the liner in,’ she said

She continued: ‘This is something nobody actually mentions but it’s big for me, I will never use a hotel washcloth on my body or my face.

‘I will use a towel but I will not use a wash cloth. Hundreds, if not, thousands of people have used that on their body and, it’s not that they’re not washed or sterilized, but having that many people coming into close contact with their body parts with a washcloth and then put it on me. .. no, I’m good.’

She added: ‘Just to clarify, when I say I use a towel, I will use the body towel very, very gingerly.’

Evangeline also warned future hotel guests not to say their room number out loud at the front desk for safety reasons.

‘If you notice, the front desk agent will write your room number on a piece of paper, they’ll circle it and direct you to the elevators, they don’t say your room number out loud,’ she said.

‘At least they’re not supposed to, and you shouldn’t either.’

Why Cheerios are better than coffee for breakfast, new study claims

When it comes to eating healthily, it seems there’s a new piece of advice every week.

Take eggs. Once demonized for being high in cholesterol, they gained hero status when protein-rich diets became the holy grail for weight loss. No wonder we’re so confused.

But a new study could be the definitive guide that we’ve all been looking for.

Researchers from the US have created the Food Compass, which, they say, is the most comprehensive system ever devised to assess the nutrition content of what we eat. The team in Boston spent three years looking at more than 8,000 foods and drinks, from melon to a McDonald’s, and used cutting-edge science to rank them according to 54 different attributes.

They gave each food a score between 1 and 100 — the higher the score, the healthier the food. Foods scoring between 100 and 70 are encouraged, those between 69 and 31 should be eaten only in moderation, while anything under 30 is bad news.

Researchers from the US have created the Food Compass, which, they say, is the most comprehensive system ever devised to assess the nutrition content of what we eat

Some of the highest scoring foods will come as little surprise. Legumes, nuts and seeds (average score 78.6), fruits (73.9) and vegetables (69.1) all do well. Savory snacks and desserts (average score 16.4) are on the no-go list.

But there are some surprises. Sweet potato crisps get a score of 69, the same as bulgur wheat, usually considered a healthy grain. The vitamins and minerals in both are comparable. But break it down further, and other factors emerge.

Sweet potatoes have more vitamin A and potassium, and are low in sodium.

Bulgur wheat does have more protein and fiber than sweet potatoes, but it also has more starch (a bad thing) and fewer healthy fats.

And those of you who have ditched cereal in favor of eggs for breakfast might be surprised to find that Cheerios (95) and Shredded Wheat (83) are not only top scorers in the grain category, but score more highly than a boiled egg (51 ).

‘Cereals aren’t inherently bad. In fact, if they have a high whole grain content then they will get a good score for that, and if they don’t have added sugar, they won’t lose any points,’ explains Professor Jeffrey Blumberg, one of the co- authors of the study.

Coffee addict? Curiously, an espresso (55) isn't the best choice, according to the Food Compass

Coffee addict? Curiously, an espresso (55) isn’t the best choice, according to the Food Compass

What’s more, although eggs are a great source of protein, they may not contain as many nutrients as, say, a cereal that’s been fortified with vitamins and minerals, hence the lower score.

Fancy super-charging your diet? Here’s what to choose—with their Food Compass ratings in brackets.

FOLLOW THE FOOD COMPASS

Highest scoring foods – 100/100

  • avocado
  • Raw or lightly cooked broccoli
  • celery juice
  • raw salmon
  • Watercress
  • red kidney beans
  • cherries

Lowest scoring foods – 1/100

  • fizzy drinks
  • white pitta bread
  • boiled sweets
  • Frankfurters
  • biscuits
  • fudge
  • instant soups

BREAKFAST

For juice, opt for celery (100), which contains a range of vitamins and minerals including potassium, magnesium and calcium, or tomato (100), which is a great source of the antioxidant lycopene.

Coffee addict? Curiously, an espresso (55) isn’t the best choice. The healthier option is a skimmed milk cappuccino (73), which has some protein and, unlike the full-fat version (58), not too many saturated fats.

As for cereals, Special K might seem a good option, but with a score of 18, it’s on a par with Cornflakes (19) and not much better than Frosties (15).

Eggs alone, boiled or poached, score only 51. But make an omelette and you can push that up or down, depending on what you put in it. A ham and cheese omelette cooked in butter drags the score down to 15, but with an egg-white omelette with vegetables, you’ll hit 59. If toast is your thing, ditch jam on white (1) for reduced-fat peanut butter on whole wheat (63).

LUNCH

Unadulterated sashimi (thinly sliced seafood) is a good choice (100), while a sushi-style California roll (1) has almost no health benefits thanks to its starchy rice, sugary vinegar and processed crab sticks.

White rice noodles (17) might look healthy but they’re almost empty calories. But if you go for wholegrain spaghetti (70) you get a lot more fiber, plus iron and potassium. Add a tomato-based sauce, with seafood and vegetables, and you’ll score 78.

Sandwiches aren’t a great choice, regardless of filling. Even a vegetable submarine sandwich with fat-free spread only gets 14, while roast beef gets 11. If you must grab a sarnie, go for grilled chicken on a wholewheat roll with lettuce and tomato (68). Sadly, but predictably, cakes (1) and cookies (4) aren’t advised.

dinner

You won’t be surprised to learn that a McDonald’s cheeseburger (8) isn’t massively nutritious. Ditch the meat and starchy carbs in favor of seafood — it’s high in protein, low in saturated fats, and packed with vitamins and minerals.

Try mussels in a tomato-based sauce (95), or a tuna salad made with light mayo (73). For top marks, go for a seafood salad with lettuce, tomato, carrots and other vegetables. The bad news is you need to hold the dressing to get a perfect 100.

If you can forgo meat, a curry isn’t a bad option. Vegetable curry scores 90, beef curry just 51.

Finally, while an ice cream sundae, with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, scores 10, you can still get a chocolatey fix — chocolate frozen yogurt made with skimmed milk scores a pretty impressive 81.

Comedian Blake Pavey pokes fun at his terminal illness during his stand-up comedy shows

A young Australian stand-up comedian has shared a series of videos online poking fun at his terminal respiratory illness while performing in front of live audiences.

Blake Pavey, who has more than 870,000 followers on TikTok, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF) when he was just six weeks old.

The 20-year-old, from Melbourne, needs to self-manage himself by taking between 30 to 50 tablets a day, often feels out of breath after exercising and is unable to have children.

Cystic fibrosis is a terminal condition that causes severe damage to the respiratory and digestive system, resulting in thick mucus sticking to the lungs – and patients typically live into their 30s or mid-40s.

Blake told FEMAIL he copes with his condition through humor during his live shows while also raising awareness.

In one video shared on Instagram, Blake asks the audience: ‘Are there any other dying people in the room?’ and woman puts her hand up explaining how she has a ‘hereditary family disease’.

The pair banter back and forth before Blake jokingly calls the woman a ‘loser’ because she didn’t receive a ‘Make A Wish’ despite having a terminal disease.

In another clip at a separate show, Blake explains what CF is and the life expectancy is – but then someone can be heard cheering.

Blake laughs and seems shocked, then makes fun of the woman.

‘He’s going to die, let’s go! That was the most positive way to tell me to kill myself,’ he joked.

This build-up increases the risk of bacteria and infection in the body, which requires close maintenance and medication.

Blake doesn’t recall the first time he was told he had CF but remembers the ‘toughest moment’ when his parents had to discuss the life expectancy with him.

‘It’s always been something I’ve just had to deal with throughout my life,’ he said.

‘The life expectancy is always in the back of my mind but I try not to focus on it too much. I don’t want to let it control me.’

Not only has Blake been hit with the reality that he will likely die young, he may also require a lung transplant in the future to survive.

‘A lot of people with CF tend to need a lung transplant at some point depending on how severe it gets, which is something that is always on the cards,’ he said.

What is cystic fibrosis (CF)?

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a serious genetic condition that causes severe damage to the respiratory and digestive systems

This damage often results from a buildup of thick, sticky mucus in the organs

The most commonly affected organs include the lungs pancreas liver intestines

If you have CF, a genetic mutation increases the thickness of mucus and other body fluids.

When this happens, the thicker fluids can interrupt the function of organs – like the movement of air through your lungs. This can trap bacteria and lead to infections

Source: Healthline

Blake has been able to self-manage the degenerate condition and says it can worsen over time.

He is diligent with health checks and usually visits the doctor every three months.

Blake moved to Melbourne last year to pursue comedy and is now planning a national tour.

On TikTok he’s known for sharing comedic skits and relatable videos – including mimicking what ‘every’ host on different radio stations sounds like and hilarious takes on real-life events.

How Salt Bae’s Nusr-Et restaurant – which has made £7million in just 4 months – has proved a hit

It was inundated with negative reviews and hit headlines over its overpriced menu – yet Salt Bae’s controversial Nusr-Et restaurant in London has proved a hit with Instagrammers.

Diners have filled the social media platform with glamorous snaps showing them posing with the social media sensation or on the steakhouse’s standout stairs and showing the expensive dishes.

The Knightsbridge restaurant, part of a chain run by Turkish chef, Nusret Gökçe, who rose to viral fame back in 2017 for his unusual meat seasoning technique where he lets salt run down his elbow, made £7million of sales in its first four months.

This week, Nusret UK Limited, the company behind the steakhouse, filed financial reports to the UK’s Companies House revealing that it ‘performed higher than expected and made a profit of £2.3million in 2021.

Yet the impressive figure is hardly surprising when considering how expensive the menu at the steakhouse is.

Specials include a Golden Giant Tomahawk steak for £1,450, Golden Giant Striplion for £1,350 and Golden Kafes for £500 – while a simple burger and Red Bull will set you back £100 and £11 respectively.

It was inundated with negative reviews and hit headlines over its overpriced menu - yet Salt Bae's controversial Nusr-Et restaurant in London has proved a hit with Instagrammers (pictured)

David Beckham, Jason Statham and Naomi Campbell are among the famous faces to have eaten at Nusret’s restaurants – which include locations in New York, Dubai and Istanbul.

Meanwhile, Coleen Rooney and husband Wayne, Gemma Collins and Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott are some of the British celebs to have visited the London-based eatery after it opened in September 2021.

Yet just months after its highly-anticipated opening, it became one of the worst ranked restaurants on TripAdvisor after being slammed by unhappy customers online.

Diners were left less than impressed with the glitzy steakhouse, with a slew of bad reviews leaving it at number 20,491 out of 23,811 in the capital on TripAdvisor.

One person commented: ‘Do not be fooled by the glitz and glam and waste your money. Terrible food. Meat was not at all tasty. Ended up going for a £5 kebab after a £300 bill… this place is the biggest joke in London.’

Meanwhile another wrote: ‘Insult to humanity. Worst food, worst service. Paid over £1,800 for three of us. Poor quality, smelly meat, small portions. Rather spend £50 in the local restaurant, it will be better! Never again! Stay away, it’s a death trap!’

In March 2022, a sommelier who was fired from Salt Bae’s restaurant for ‘eating an avocado after 5.30pm’ branded the eatery a ‘toxic working environment’.

Guillermo Perez, 30, from Madrid, compared Nusr-Et to a ‘McDonald’s for rich people’ for charging guests extortionate prices – despite allegedly serving them ‘frozen chips with Heinz ketchup’.

Sommelier of eight years Mr Perez, who has lived in the UK since 2012, claimed the London eatery was ‘immoral’ in a scathing attack, adding that bottles of wine were being marked up by ‘incredible’ amounts.

‘Bottles worth £1,000 would be sold for up to £3,000, for example,’ Mr Perez told MailOnline. ‘Of course you can charge people whatever price you want, but it’s pretty immoral when the quality of the food and service does not match the price.

‘One day I saw a big bag of frozen chips and I thought “really? That’s what we are serving people?” And they had Heinz ketchup and mayonnaise, which you can get from the shop.’

Mr Perez continued: ‘I have worked in Mayfair and other good restaurants, but my experience there was very disappointing. I think people there want to show how much money they have, almost everybody paid in cash.’

Mr Perez said he was dragged into HR on January 20 after he was rated by a chef in the staff canteen – which is shared with a hotel – for eating his own avocado and rice.

Workers from Nusr-Et are not allowed to eat food from the canteen after 5.30pm, Mr Perez said.

‘I arrived with my own food at 5.35pm and took a plate and the chef started shouting at me telling me I can’t eat from the canteen,’ alleged Mr Perez, whose past work experience includes the upmarket Sushisamba.

‘I tried to explain that the avocado was mine and that I was just taking a plate and some cutlery and he accused me of being aggressive and called my general manager.’

Within 30 minutes, Mr Perez said he was told to report to HR, where he was chastised for ‘arguing with the chef’ and told not to return after that day. He said he was told he would not receive his week’s holiday pay or work a notice period.

MailOnline contacted Nusr-Et for comment.

Dad saves £10,000 with extreme cost-cutting tips like reusing LOO ROLL

A thrifty dad has shared some of his extreme cost cutting tips – from reusing toilet paper to dry tea bags on the washing line for a second cuppa.

Al Baker, 48, from Aldershot, was plunged into £300,000 business debt in 2017 and was forced to declare bankruptcy.

Ever since, the dad-of-two has been on a mission to cut costs – notably living on yellow sticker bargain foods to help him save £10,000 over the course of two years.

Now, Al – who shares money saving tips on his blog The Penny Pincher – has revealed some of the other ways which can help save you some cash.

But brace yourself – they’re not for the fainthearted…

DITCH THE LOO ROLL – AND USE RE-USABLE RAGS

Although Al doesn’t do this himself, he has shared this trick to help others save cash.

Instead of toilet roll, some thrifty people use pieces of cloth, which are cleaned by storing them in a container of bleach and water and then placed in the washing machine.

Al said, ‘It’s not a million miles away from washing babies’ nappies, but I suspect the contents may be a little worse.’

He said he doesn’t do this trick himself, adding: ‘I get that loo roll is expensive, but I think there are other things I would be happy to lose before losing loo roll.

‘Still thousands of people are now doing this, and if money is tight then fair enough.’

TEA BAGS FOR LIFE

We Brits love a cuppa – so this may be considered a sacrilegious act. But drying out teabags to re-use is a thrifty way to make your daily necessity stretch further.

Al said, ‘This is the most un-British thing you could do, but another tip for frugal people.’

He added, ‘I’ve tried it, and it is kind of OK… obviously, it’s a weaker cup of tea than the first cuppa, but more or less passable.

‘I think it would be better for making iced tea, as you don’t need quite so much flavour, and based on that, again, it’s on the list as an extreme frugal contender.’

FLUSHING TOILET ONLY ONCE A DAY

Another money-saving bathroom exploit is reducing how often you flush your toilet – with Al advising you could cut this to just one flush a day.

He said, ‘If you want to flush as normal, invest in a hippo bag that fills up space in your water cistern, which means your toilet will use less water to fill up the cistern.

‘You could also consider filling up a larger fizzy drink bottle with water and popping that in your cistern, which will do the same job as the hippo bag.’

RE-GROW YOUR VEG

By growing your own fruit and veg from leftovers, you could save yourself quite a few pennies on your food bill – plus it can be fun.

Al said, ‘This is very achievable and is something I already do.

‘For example, take a spring onion, cut off the root, and place it in water or soil, and it will re-grow, which you can then use for food, and re-grow again.’

WATER DOWN YOUR MILK

To save money on milk, Al advises buying a full carton of whole milk and, once half used, filling it back up with water – the idea being you get double the amount of milk for your money.

Al said: ‘The logic is reasonably sound. I did try it, and it isn’t something I would want in my cup of tea, but it works ok when making sauces or puddings.

‘It’s a bit extreme, but if used for the right thing, it’s a yes from me.’

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREEBIES

Even people who can afford to go out can still make the most of freebies.

Al said, ‘If you go and stay at a hotel, make sure you nick the complimentary tea and coffee from the room, as well as the guest shampoo and soap.’

Al also recommends tips such as freezing leftovers, canceling subscriptions and avoiding eating out to cut costs.

Constance Hall, 38, unleashes on men after a stranger sent explicit image

Constance Hall OWNS the ‘desperate, lonely and sad’ man who sent her ad**k pic – as she publishes his vile text to her

  • Australian mummy blogger Constance Hall has called out men for explicit pics
  • The 38-year-old mother shared the text messages on her Facebook page
  • She tried to ‘put herself in their shoes’ but couldn’t make sense of the situation
  • Ultimately she ‘felt sorry’ for the men who feel the need to send such images

An Australian mummy blogger has unleashed on creepy men after she was sent an unsolicited explicit photo of a stranger’s genitals and a series of graphic text messages.

Mother Constance Hall, who lives in Western Australia, took to Facebook with a photo of the texts – and a censor over the male genitalia – to talk about the ‘assault’ that is receiving such low rent content.

‘I just got sent ad*** pic but unlike all the other lonely boys that have sent me them in the past, this came through to my private phone number on an app I downloaded two days ago to message my paranoid friends on,’ she captioned the photo.

‘Aside from the obvious victim on the other end of this assault, what is going on with these blokes? So I tried putting myself in their shoes.’

Despite ‘trying to be open minded’ Mrs Hall couldn’t see how sending these types of images would be gratifying – for the sender or the receiver.

The message she had received read: ‘Weren’t you after this? Did you text me after something big and throbbing?’

‘Could it be depravity? If I had never met anyone who actually wanted to see my stimulated v**** could I be driven to send it out there anyway? Umm that’s a no,’ she concurred.

‘Maybe to get even? If I found out that my husband was sending his genitals to a number of people who didn’t want to see them would I then be inclined to ‘get even and show him that two can play at the game of assaulting strangers with our genitals? I don’t think that’s how I’d frame that particular revenge.’

Mrs Hall couldn’t actually come up with a single instance in which she thought the photos were okay to send without the receiver first acknowledging that they wanted to see them first.

‘And I do realize that it’s not always possible to understand someone who’s lived a different life to yours, male privilege can be hard to fully grasp when you have been served the privilege of it,’ she said.

Mrs Hall couldn’t actually come up with a single instance in which she thought the photos were okay to send without the receiver first acknowledging that they wanted to see them first

‘But there isn’t enough empathy in the world that could help me understand how desperate, lonely, sad and full of self entitlement I’d have to be to send someone a close up of my aroused genitals who simply didn’t want to see them.’

She did acknowledge that there was a certain degree of sympathy for those ‘poor excited men’ who sat alone in their bedrooms taking these photos.

‘They’re dreaming about the wide world of sexual encounters being had all over the place, none of which he was invited to,’ Mrs Hall said.

Bizarrely when she snapped a screenshot of the photo it was naturally censored by the app it was sent in, preventing Mrs Hall from sharing it on even if she wanted to.

‘Of course, that thought moved on. And left me wondering what kind of an app blanks out d*** pics in screenshots? How the f*** am I supposed to process this if I ca n’t black out his nob de él and rip apart his bedroom with my queens?’ She said.

‘Never in my life will I understand why ‘men’ send a pic! Send back a pic of a scoring panel!’ One woman wrote.

‘I’m in a relationship now but before I wasn’t and I found this kind of behavior really disgusting and degrading … hard no, from me,’ another said.

While one woman said: ‘Weird that men think it is a turn on.’
