Waluigi-themed bachelorette party dubbed ‘best event that has ever happened’: ‘I’m so impressed’

A Waluigi bachelorette party is the talk of the town on TikTok.

Buy, sell or hold? How to decide what to do with a plummeting stock

When TikToker @cherriesorbet, a burlesque and cosplay costume designer, was getting married, she knew her bachelorette party was going to be special. But few brides would be daring enough to go with a Waluigi theme. For the uninitiated, Waluigi is a villain from the Mario franchise. He’s Luigi’s longtime nemesis and sidekick to Wario.

Symone reflects on the epic year she’s had since winning “RuPaul’s Drag Race”:

The bridal party each dressed up as a different version of Waluigi, with the bride herself going as Elvis Waluigi. There was a Cowboy Waluigi, Pirate Waluigi, Sexy Firefighter Waluigi, Cult Waluigi, Chef Waluigi and a Strong Man Waluigi.

Each Waluigi guessed who would get the drunkest that night, and most of them guessed Elvis, the bride.

“I do a lot of burlesque and cosplay costuming, so there was no way I wasn’t going to do something like this for my Bach,” the bride explained on TikTok.

The video earned nearly 1 million views. People loved the commitment to the theme.

“I think that this is the best event that has ever happened ever,” a person commented.

“Imagine being at a restaurant and just seeing an army of differently themed Waluigi’s pulling up,” a user wrote.

“Everyone brought it with their costumes,” another said.

“I’m so impressed that everyone went ALL OUT with props and everything!” to TikToker replied.

“I’ve never been in love with so many people at once,” someone added.

Melbourne socialite and philanthropist dies at 92

“Hairdressing was her love and what she made her living from,” Jackie said. “People flocked together and she realized that, ‘Hey, I can make a difference here. I can do something’.”

Lillian Frank often told a story to her daughters of their grandmother having a locked room at their home in India to collect dowries for women who could not afford to marry.

“Her mother said to her, ‘charity should be seen behind closed doors’,” Jackie said. “She got it from her mother de ella.”

Fashion designer Alex Perry remembered Frank as “brilliant in real life” and a force in Melbourne fashion through hairdressing and the horseracing scene.

“She was one of those incredible people who was always completely energetic,” Perry said.

“[She was] a tireless charity fundraiser, and that gets sometimes eclipsed by the pure joy she had at the Melbourne Cup where she would have the most outrageous hats.”

Victorian Labor minister Jaala Pulford said the community stood in solidarity with Frank’s family.

“We express our deepest condolences to them at what’s a really difficult time,” Pulford said on Saturday. “We thank her for her from her … from her incredible presence from her, her from her incredible work from her in business and in the community.”

Frank wrote a gossip column for the Herald Sun for decades.

Frank is survived by husband Richard, daughters Jackie and Michelle, and grandchildren Ella and Charlie.

Nick Kyrgios’s winning streak comes to an end at the Montreal Masters at the hands of Hubert Hurkacz

Nick Kyrgios gave it all he had but, in the end, in the midday Montreal heat, there were just too many aches and pains.

The mercurial Australian’s nine-match winning singles run came to a disappointing end in the quarter-finals of the Montreal Masters 1000, worn down by fatigue, a sore back, and the relentless serving of Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz.

The number eight seed won 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 with the final set, which took just 27 minutes after the first two lasted 38 and 41 respectively.

Kyrgios did not call a trainer or complain, but looked off the pace physically. He also had plenty on his mind with his parents of him unwell.

“I honestly don’t care [about losing the winning streak],” Kyrgiossaid.

“I’ve been away from home, away from my mum, away from my dad.

“They’re not very well at the moment. So I don’t really care about ‘no winning streak’.

“I got two more tournaments [Cincinnati and the US Open] left before I can go home.”

John Howard reflects on the Liberals defeat at the Federal Election under Scott Morrison

Former prime minister John Howard has weighed in on what went wrong for the Liberal Party in its 2022 Federal Election campaign that ended with the Coalition losing power after nine years.

In his first interview since the May 21 defeat, Mr Howard – who led the Liberals to four election victories – told The Australian the party was badly hurt by its failure to properly outline its vision for the nation.

“The absence of a program for the future… the absence of some kind of manifesto, hurt us very badly,” Mr Howard told the publication.

“There’s a shelf-life to argue that we can manage things better… you have got to keep arguing for something.”

The Liberals under Scott Morrison lost 18 seats at the election, reducing the Coalition to 58 seats overall. The Nationals held all their seats.

Labor took 10 seats from the Liberals, the Greens picked up two and Teal Independents won the remaining six seats.

Mr Howard, whose latest book A Sense of Balance is out on August 17, revealed another one of the mistakes the Liberals made was “to take its natural constituency for granted”.

“One of the reasons we suffered more is the Teals did offer, as it happened, something that was attractive to people who were unenthusiastic about the Liberal Party but really couldn’t bring themselves to vote Labor,” he said.

Mr Howard’s remarks come as the Liberal Party undertakes a review into its Federal Election defeat.

The review – led by former Liberal Party director Brian Loughnane and opposition frontbencher Jane Hume – will include responses to the success of teal independents as well as the Coalition’s climate change policies.

Also under microscope will be how the Liberals lost six out of nine seats across the top 15 Chinese-Australian electorates.

The Australian reported this week Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has been advised to scale back the Coalition’s attacks on Beijing and adopt a more subtle approach in a bid to win back Chinese-Australian voters.

The revelation came as recent Australian Bureau of Statistics census data overlaid with election results found the party suffered above average swings against it in electorates with high numbers of Chinese-Australian voters.

Post-polling suggested the Morrison government’s anti-China rhetoric alienated Chinese-Australian voters who would otherwise prefer the Coalition on economic matters.

Former treasurer Josh Frydenberg lost his seat of Kooyong – which has Chinese-Australian voter base of 19 per cent- to teal independent Monique Ryan following his crackdown on Chinese foreign investment in response to Beijing’s sanctions on Australian imports.

In the seat of Bennelong, a 13 per cent swing against the Liberal Party was recorded in polling booths in Eastwood, where 38 per cent of residents have Chinese heritage.

The Coalition also lost the Victorian seat of Chisholm, which boasts a Chinese-Australian voter base of 28.9 per cent, while it narrowly retained the seat of Menzies – where 26.7 per cent of voters are of Chinese heritage – by just 1,377 votes.

Mr Dutton said his criticisms of China were not about its people – it was about the country’s government.

“If you look back at my transcripts, I’ve been at pains to talk about China under President Xi. President Xi has appointed himself leader for life,” he told reporters on Wednesday.

“It’s like our criticism about Russia under President Putin – our criticism is not of the Russian people. When we talk about problems that we have with other countries, our comments aren’t an attack on those people, it’s on that dictatorship.

“I mean, our attacks on the North Korean dictator, when you talk about that, it’s not an attack on the North Korean people and talk of that is just absurd.”

Nintendo Just Shared A Secret Switch Sports Code To Summon A Wii Sports Legend

Nintendo Switch Sports launched back in April and has seen a steady-ish stream of updates since, adding in new features like full Leg Strap support and adjusting some ranking stuff, but today they dropped a bombshell feature that wasn’t in the patch notes.

Out of nowhere, the Nintendo of America account tweeted, “Interested in a tougher challenge in #NintendoSwitchSports? Try entering ZR + R + A or ZL + L + ? on the difficulty select screen” along with an in-game screenshot showing them squaring off in Chambara against “Matt”.

If you know your Wii Sports memes well, you’ll know that Matt is a legend among the community for being an absolute menace in Boxing (and Swordplay in Wii Sports Resort). He acted as your trainer in the original Wii Sports, and was the most difficult Boxing opponent in the game – and now he’s back to grind you to dust once again.

We tested this ourselves and, yep, there he is. It’s worth noting that we could only get him to show up in Chambara (which makes sense given Swordplay is his thing) and there’s no prompt or chime to show you’ve entered the code correctly. Doing the same in other sports did pit us against “Legend” opponents, though.

UK grandmother, 91, looks 20 years younger when in a bikini

A great grandmother aged 91 gets chatted up by men 20 years younger when in a bikini.

And Joan Richmond-Woodhouse says her envied beach body look comes despite her love of meat pies and pub grub, The Sun reports.

The mum of eight and grandma of 18 says she is regularly mistaken for a woman in her 70s when sunbathing.

“I don’t know how to behave as a 91-year-old — I just act the same as I did when I was 21,” she said.

“I’ve always looked young and people are always shocked when I tell them my age as I don’t look, talk or act like I am 91.

“I love wearing a bikini and going to the beach with my granddaughter.”

Granddaughter Lydia, 27, a beauty ambassador, said, “It’s mad people 20 years younger try and chat her up.

“They don’t believe us when we tell them her real age — she doesn’t age.

“I hope when I’m older I’m like my grandma and inherit her genes and look as good as she does at her age.

“I really hope to have her luck. Lots of members of our family get complimented on our youthful looks and it’s almost like we get to a certain age then we age backwards.”

Retired dressmaker Joan, of Blackburn, now spends most of her time with boyfriend David Winder, 84, on Spain’s Costa Calida.

“I don’t do anything special to stay young,” she said.

“I love pies and English grub so I’ve stuck to eating that. I love a meat pie.

“I always go for a carvery every Sunday. I don’t follow any silly diets.

“I just eat what I want and what makes me happy. I just love English food — especially pub grub.”

Joan — who lost her retired solicitor hubby Trevor Woodhouse — swears by a Nivea cream, which she has used since she was 16 and she moisturizes her whole body once a week.

She also loves clothes and likes to dress glamorously.

“I’ve never put any weight on,” she added.

“I think that must be my secret to my young looks.

“That and I just love life and have never had the mindset of being old.

“Age is just a number. I keep young by staying positive and eating what I want. It works for me.”

Kostecki labels MARC GT ‘bloody incredible’

2022-New-MARC-car-test-Queensland-Raceway

The new MARC GT prototype

Supercars driver Brodie Kostecki has described the new MARC GT prototype as a ‘bloody incredible piece of machinery.’

The Erebus Motorsport driver was given the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the LS3-powered MARC GT car during a test day at Queensland Raceway earlier this week.

There, the 24-year-old put the prototype example from the Gold Coast-based manufacturer through its peace.

“I think it was a really positive test, it’s the first real hit out that the cars had,” Kostecki told Speedcafe.com

“I believe they had a shakedown test on the Clubman Circuit [Queensland Raceway] a few weeks prior.

“We did the first half of the day without the front clip of the body on, so once that showed up we knew that the lap times were gonna drop.

“I think there’s still a lot more lap time left in it.”

The Supercars regular punched a fastest lap of 1:07.4s during the hit-out.

That provided marginally faster than the latest-spec GT3 machinery managed during qualifying when GT World Challenge Australia raced at the venue days earlier.

“It’s a bloody incredible piece of machinery,” Kostecki enthused.

“Everyone at MARC cars and PACE Innovations have done an awesome job. It’s the fastest I’ve ever gone around QR.

“The current version that I drove put out 550 horsepower, which is plenty for what they’re going to be doing.

“It was quite nice to drive, it felt like a GT car, except it was a bit quicker than a GT car, so it was bloody cool to drive it,” he added.

“It’s quite a lot different to a Supercar, it’s got a lot more downforce.

“It’s got ABS, paddle shift, all the fruit, so it’s really good for the market that they’re trying to capture.”

The MARC GT is touted as an upgrade of the MARC Focus and MARC Mazda models launched in 2014.

Inspired by the Mercedes C63, it consists of a chrome moly space frame with a bolt on front and rear crash structure.

It includes a Holinger transmission, Brembo brake package, and PACE Innovations Modular Upright system.

Google is testing a way to start streaming games from search results

One thing that will help bolster adoption of cloud gaming is by making it as easy as possible to fire up a game. To that end, it is testing a way to start playing something with a single click from results, even if it’s not on the company’s own platform.

The test, which was by Bryant Chapel of The Nerf Report, not only enables folks to directly launch a game on Stadia, but it works with , and as well. If you’re enrolled in the test and search for a game on one of those platforms (such as or ), you may see a Play button in the information panel. Clicking that will either start up the game or take you to a landing page on the respective streaming platform.

and saw the feature in action too. The latter noted the search results can show if a game has a timed trial on Stadia or if it’s available for free or as part of a premium subscription.

It’s not incredibly surprising to see Google testing out such functionality. For several years, it has shown folks where they can. For instance, if you have a Netflix subscription and search for stranger things on Google, you’ll be able to start watching the show with a single click.

In hindsight, it’s a little odd that Google hasn’t offered this feature for Stadia from the jump in order to promote its cloud gaming service. On the other hand, Stadia’s store didn’t have a search function for a year and a half, which offered further evidence that the platform isn’t exactly one of Google’s highest priorities. However, Stadia is not shutting down and Google is slowly adding more features to it.

AFL news 2022: Brad Crouch beats hit vs Darcy Gardiner video, St Kilda vs Brisbane score

St Kilda midfielder Brad Crouch could be staring down the barrel of a stint on the sidelines following a late hit on Brisbane Lions defender Darcy Gardiner during Friday evening’s AFL match at Marvel Stadium.

During the second quarter of Brisbane’s 15-point victory, Crouch’s shoulder made heavy contact with Gardiner’s head near the boundary line.

Watch every blockbuster AFL match this weekend Live & Ad-Break Free In-Play on Kayo. New to Kayo? Start your free trial now >

The dazed 26-year-old required medical attention following the ugly incident, which sparked a brief melee.

“That’s not good I don’t think,” footy icon Brian Taylor said on Channel 7 commentary.

“That’s head contact with a bump and it could’ve been a tackle.”

Melbourne AFLW footballer Daisy Pearce continued: “That’s weeks. At least a week and anything upward of that hinges on what those doctors are working out right now.”

Channel 7 commentator James Brayshaw replied: “You say that, but in the current landscape how would anyone know?”

Crouch will almost certainly come under scrutiny from the Match Review Officer, but the severity of his punishment remains unclear.

Earlier this week, the AFL Appeals Board overturned the AFL Tribunal’s decision to uphold Carlton captain Patrick Cripps’ two-match ban for rough conduct due to a lack of procedural fairness.

The outcome baffled the footy community, and the AFL Appeals Board could face further scrutiny following Crouch’s late hit at Marvel Stadium.

“Good on Carlton for pursuing it and getting their player free but I thought we were all about protecting the head and Cal Ah Chee had no chance whatsoever to protect his own head last week,” Lion coach Chris Fagan told reporters in the post- match press conference.

“And he was off early in the game last week and he’s not playing this week as a result of it so we get penalized for that and unfortunately Cal gets injured.

“We’ve just got to protect the head – it’s as simple as that.”

Melbourne great Garry Lyon fumed on Fox Footy: “It’s the greatest raffle in sport right now… it’s a farce.

“We don’t know what’s going on. ‘Procedural fairness’, come on.

“I hope this is not the start of a long concussion run for Callum Ah Chee, because we’d go back to this moment and go, ‘This is an AFL that makes a lot of noise but (doesn’t do enough)’ .”

St Kilda will need a minor miracle to qualify for the finals after Friday’s 12.9 (81) to 9.12 (66) defeat.

Brisbane opened up a 26-point buffer late in the second quarter, but for the third game in a row, they either gave up a sizeable lead, or had one eaten into significantly, as the Saints exploded in the third quarter to lead by five points, putting the Lions’ top-four ambitions in peril.

However, Brisbane’s pursuit of a double chance would’ve been severely impeded if Saints spearhead Max King kicked straight, but he could only must five behinds, including four missed set shots from directly in front in the second half when the Saints enjoyed all the momentum .

In response, Rayner stepped up to the plate, showing King how it’s done, booting three of Brisbane’s four final-quarter goals, to finish up with a team-high four majors, and prove to be the match winner.

The Saints will likely drop to 10th this weekend, meaning they will have to not only beat the Swans in Sydney in the final round next week, but will also need a raft of other results to go their way to make the finals.

Oppo’s Apple Watch lookalike is official, featuring Qualcomm’s latest W5 Gen 1 chip

Qualcomm announced its latest Wear OS chipsets in July this year: the W5 Gen 1 and W5+ Gen 1. Both SoCs are a massive upgrade over their predecessor and give Wear OS a fighting chance against the Apple Watch for the first time in years. Oppo was quick to confirm that it would be the first to launch a W5 Gen 1 smartwatch on the market, with a leak indicating the wearable would have an Apple Watch-y design. The Chinese smartphone maker has officially taken the wraps off the Oppo Watch 3 in China, with a claimed battery life of up to four days.

ANDROID POLICE VIDEO OF THE DAY

Oppo’s 2022 smartwatch lineup consists of two models: the Watch 3 and the Watch 3 Pro (via GSMArena). Both wearables feature a 5ATM-certified aluminum chassis with easily replaceable bands. Qualcomm’s W5 Gen 1 chip is ticking inside them. Unlike the W5+ Gen 1, the non-plus model lacks a low-power coprocessor, which is handled by Oppo’s Apollo 4 Plus chip.

While the best Android smartwatches feature a circular display, the Oppo Watch 3 takes design inspiration from the Apple Watch. It has a rectangular chassis housing a 1.75-inch AMOLED panel with 3D glass on top and a rotating crown on the right. Other specs include 1GB RAM, a 400mAh battery, 32GB storage, Bluetooth 5.0, eSIM support, NFC, and 100+ workout tracking modes. A 400mAh battery powers the watch, which can seemingly last up to four days. This can be extended to ten days when the watch is used in light mode. A full charge takes around 60 minutes, while a 10-minute top-up will allow the wearable to last for a day.

The Oppo Watch 3 Pro lives up to its ‘Pro’ moniker with a bigger 1.91-inch AMOLED LTPO display—a first for a wearable. The superior display tech also allows the watch to support Always-on Display. It packs a massive 550mAh battery for a claimed battery life of up to five days. With LTE, the battery life drops to four days, while in light mode, the smartwatch can last up to 15 days. Despite the larger battery, the company says topping up the cell takes just over an hour.

Both smartwatches house an array of sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart rate monitor, SpO2, ECG, barometric, and ambient light sensor. They are already up for preorder in China and will go on sale starting August 19. Prices for the Oppo Watch 3 start at CNY 1,499 (~$220), with the Pro model carrying a CNY 1,899 (~$275) price tag.

In China, the Oppo Watch 3 lineup runs on proprietary software. If it makes its way to other international markets, it should run Wear OS 3, which could lead to its battery life taking a hit.
