A girl was shot Wednesday night in Towson, Baltimore County police said. *UPDATE* According to officials, the 8-year-old girl who was shot has been pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. Circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.Police said they responded to a home in the 6300 block of Sherwood Road just before 9:30 pm Officers arrived and found the 8-year-old girl in the basement of the home critically injured.Police said there is no threat to the community.
