The Best (And Silliest) Stray Mods

stray has been out for a couple of weeks now, so there has been plenty of time for mods to pop up.

Players have been making all sorts of stray mods since the game came out. Some we’ve already touched on include turning the cat into CJ and turning the cat into a dog.

Outside of these mods, there are still so many that I think are just fantastic, so I’ve compiled a list of my favorite cat mods for Stray. Please take a look.

Meow mods for Stray

JASON by gibrietas

This mod replaces the cat’s meows with Ethan’s ‘Jason’ lines from Heavy Rain. Pretty self-explanatory and very silly.

Farting Mod by norskpl

This mod replaces the cat’s meows with fart sounds. Once again, incredibly self-explanatory and very, very silly.

Cat accessory mods for Stray

Eyepatch Mod by Sirgalahad172

stray mods
Image: Sirgalahad172 / Annapurna Interactive

This mod adds an eyepatch to your cat, making him look like Solid Snake from metal gear solid. If there were a way for Solid Snake to hold this cat, I would be at peace.

Glasses Mod by Sirgalahad172

The Best (And Silliest) Stray Mods
Image: Sirgalahad172 / Annapurna Interactive

This mod adds little glasses to your cat, making him look like a big nerd. I’m allowed to say this as I also wear glasses, and they make me look like a nerd.

Cat mods in Stray

Garfield Mod by Chris Rubino

stray mods
Image: Chris Rubino / Annapurna Interactive

This mod, made by the same creator that made the dog mod, turns the cat into the lasagna-loving beast Garfield. How about those Mondays, huh?

Spyro the Dragon Mod by MrMarco1003

The Best (And Silliest) Stray Mods
Image: MrMarco1003 / Annapurna Interactive

This mod turns the cat into Spyro from the Reignited Trilogy era. As you can see, all the cats become different dragons. One of them is Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon.

Minecraft Pig Mod by RSH Kai Jones

stray mods
Image: RSH Kai Jones / Annapurna Interactive

This mod turns the cat into a pig from Minecraft. There is something indescribably evil and hilarious about this mod and this image especially.

An honorable mention would have to be all of the mods people have made of their own cats. There are too many to include, but it’s very wholesome that so many people have wanted to put their cat in the game.

Lee Ryan arrested: Blue singer’s airplane rampage

Pop star Lee Ryan was arrested after allegedly going berserk on a plane.

The singer from British boy band Blue is said to have been abusive to cabin crew and refused to sit when they would not serve him a drink.

Blue enjoyed a string of hit singles and three UK number one albums in the early noughties, and two platinum-selling songs in Australia with the hits All Rise and Too Close.

Passengers claim Ryan, 39, became disruptive during the flight from Glasgow to London City, delaying it by 20 minutes as he was arrested after it landed.

One passenger said: “Never mind singing with Blue, he turned the air blue with his language.

“He became aggressive with the air hostesses once it became clear he wouldn’t get given alcohol. At one point he left his seat and started walking up and down the aisle despite being told to sit down – he even ran behind the cabin crew curtains.

“It was crazy behaviour.”

Another said: “The way he acted was really intimidating.”

Cabin staff radioed ahead and cops boarded the BA flight in London on Sunday.

They arrested Ryan on suspicion of public order offenses.

He was handcuffed and bundled off the jet into a waiting police van on the runway.

He spent the night in a cell and was finally released yesterday pending further investigations after spending well over 12 hours in custody.

The Met Police said: “At around 16.40hrs on Sunday, 31 July, officers met a flight that had arrived at London City Airport from Glasgow.

“A 39-year-old man was arrested for a public order offence. He was taken into custody at an East London police station and was released under investigation the following day.”

Ryan formed the boy band in 2000 with Antony Costa, Duncan James and Simon Webbe. They have sold 14 million records.

Pat Cummins and Becky Boston married

Australian Test captain Pat Cummins has married his long-time partner Rebecca Boston in a star-studded ceremony on Friday.

After nearly nine years together and various COVID-19 disruptions, the couple tied the knot at the luxury accommodation Chateau Du Soleil on the coast of Byron Bay.

Cummins posted a photo of the newlyweds celebrating the occasion on Instagram on Monday evening, alongside the caption “just married”. The bride donned a white, sparkling gown and the groom sported a classic black suit and bow-tie.

Cummins and his partner – who goes by “Becky” – initially expected to be wed in 2020, but they, like many other couples living through the pandemic, were forced to reschedule the event for safer, less restriction-ridden times.

They were finally able to make it official on Friday in front of family and friends, including several teammates and coaches.

Cummins’ teammates Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head and Nathan Lyon were among the guests as their captain exchanged vows. Others in attendance were former skipper Tim Paine and head coach Andrew McDonald.

The pair met in Sydney’s nightlife district in 2013. He and Becky, who hails from Britain, have since had a son named Albie, who is now nine months old.

Cummins is Australia’s 47th men’s Test captain. At only 29, the local Westmead was the first fast bowler in more than half a century to be named captain.

With the wedding behind him, Cummins faces a busy period ahead with the Twenty20 World Cup and two summer Test series against South Africa and the West Indies.

Former Canberra Rebels bikie boss Ali Bilal jailed over expletive-laden threatening phone calls

The former boss of the Canberra Rebels bikie club has been jailed over a series of phone conversations, riddled with expletives, during which he threatened to hurt several people.

Ali Bilal, 50, pleaded guilty to five charges relating to using a carriage service to harass or threaten serious harm after the conversations were captured in telephone intercepts.

In one conversation played to the ACT Magistrates Court, he told a woman he was trying to contact someone and wanted her to arrange the meeting, ignoring the woman’s pleas to listen to her.

“Get him to meet me. That’s it,” Bilal screamed into the phone.

“I’m gonna f*** him, his mother, his father. I’m not gonna leave anybody tonight,” Bilal told her.

In another conversation, Bilal asked a man who had angered him where he was.

“We’ll just come to you now,” he said.

“Forget the bulls***.

“We’ll come to the site where you are now and we’ll deal with you in public in front of everybody to finally make a statement in this town.

“I’m happy to go to jail for it. Let’s not f*** around anymore.”

Chief Magistrate Lorraine Walker said the conversations revealed a grandiose and alarming attitude and displayed “manipulative aggression”.

But she noted Bilal had said he never intended to carry out the threats.

Chief Magistrate Walker said Bilal had also expressed some remorse in his pre-sentence report, although she said that he should be qualified.

“He has not demonstrated contrition in any practical sense,” she said.

The court heard that Bilal had left the Rebels, although Chief Magistrate Walker said that news was also “received with some skepticism” given Bilal’s long association with gangs.

Chief Magistrate Walker said some of the conversations may have been driven by some kind of perverted form of moral authority.

But she said there was no other option but to send him to jail.

Bilal has been sentenced to 13 months in prison, but that will be suspended after four months.

He will also have to sign an 18-month supervision order.

Bipartisan compromise bill would restore abortion rights

WASHINGTON (AP) — A bipartisan group of senators is pushing compromise legislation to restore abortion access in the wake of the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, a long shot effort to put a majority of the Senate on the record opposing the decision.

While the bill is not expected to pass — and is unlikely to even get a vote — the legislation introduced by two Republicans and two Democrats on Monday is intended to send a signal to state legislatures and the public that a majority of the Senate supports codifying Roe , even if they can’t get the necessary 60 votes to pass it in the 50-50 Senate.

“We still think there is utility in showing there is a bipartisan majority that would want to codify Roe,” even though the bill doesn’t have enough votes, said Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, who introduced the legislation with Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

The legislation would prohibit most state regulations that prevent abortion access before fetal viability, generally considered to be around 24 weeks. It would allow state restrictions after that point, as long as the mother’s life is protected. It would also protect access to contraception, an issue after Justice Clarence Thomas suggested in a concurring opinion to the decision overturning Roe that decisions guaranteeing access to contraception and other rights may need to be revisited.

The bipartisan bill is narrower than legislation preferred by most Democrats — passed by the House but blocked by Senate Republicans — that would have protected abortion rights and expanded them beyond what was allowed in the landmark 1972 Roe v. wade decision. Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Collins and Murkowski all voted against that bill despite opposition to the overturning of Roe.

Kaine said he felt like Democrats “left votes on the table” after that effort. He said he was encouraged by a new law designed to reduce gun violence that passed the House and Senate after horrific shootings in Texas and New York.

“There were not 60 votes either” for that legislation until members decided that inaction was no longer an option, he said.

Democrats would need 10 Republican votes to overcome a filibuster and get a bill through the 50-50 Senate, but only Collins and Murkowski have publicly backed abortion rights.

By overturning Roe, the court has allowed states to enact strict abortion limits, including many that had previously been deemed unconstitutional. The ruling is expected to lead to abortion bans in roughly half of the states.

Already, a number of GOP-controlled states have moved quickly to curtail or outlaw abortion, while states controlled by Democrats have sought to champion access. Voters now rank abortion as among the most pressing issues facing the country, a shift in priorities that Democrats hope will reshape the political landscape in their favor for the midterm elections.

The support of Kaine and Sinema, a moderate, comes as some activists have accused President Joe Biden and other top Democrats of failing to respond forcefully enough to the decision.

Kaine said there is an increased sense of urgency since the June decision, and suggested he or others may go to the floor at some point and request a vote, an effort that is unlikely to succeed but could call attention to the bill as majorities of Americans say they disagree with the Supreme Court decision.

“People are paying attention to it,” Kaine said.

Ramsay confirms its contract with Bupa is void

“We want our members to know that our first priority in our negotiations with Ramsay has been to keep healthcare costs affordable, especially when cost of living pressures continue to impact families,” he said.

While Ramsay and Bupa are further negotiating to reach a deal, Ramsay said it is communicating with patients about their options, including swapping health funds.

Jefferies analyst David Stanton said in a note to clients he considers private health insurance switching costs to be low, and Ramsay may not suffer from lower patient visits.

“Australia has full portability of [private health insurance] policies. This means that once the requirements of the ‘waiting period’ under a first policy have been satisfied, there is no need to repeat this with every move to another insurer,” he said.

He said Bupa customers may find it “relatively easy” to move to another insurer and avoid a large out-of-pocket payment to be treated in a Ramsay hospital. “Hence, [Ramsay] might not suffer much volume decline from this decision.”

In July Bupa penned a new deal with Victoria’s largest not-for-profit private hospital group Epworth HealthCare. This followed two other deals with large private hospital groups Cabrini Health and Mater Health.

Ramsay is the subject of a potential binding bid from a KKR & Co-led consortium which is still pending.

KKR is believed to be renewing its push for due diligence on the hospital group’s French assets, which has been met with push back by Ramsay Sante’s second-biggest shareholder, Predica.

Ramsay shares on Tuesday afternoon were trading flat at $70.61, still well below the $88 a share indicative bid by KKR and its partners.

Jessika Power hits out after being axed from new Ten series at the ‘last second’

Married At First Sight star Jessika Power has hit out at a report she quit Ten’s new reality series, revealing that she was actually fired at the last minute and has “zero idea” why.

For weeks, Power – who appeared in Nine’s controversial dating show in 2019 – was rumored to be among the crop of local reality stars joining Ten’s premiere season of The Challenge Australiawhich begins filming this week.

However, the Daily Mail reported earlier this week that the 30-year-old TV contestant and OnlyFans creator had decided to quit – which prompted Power to fire back and set the record straight.

“I had my contract signed, bags packed, everything ready and received a message from my manager stating that the American executives had made a creative decision to not include me on the show despite believing I am ‘good talent’,” Power wrote in an Instagram Story, which was attached to a screenshot of the article.

“I was excited to be chosen to do the show and it was only a day before I was having Skype interviews with the casting director and speaking about opening outfits and filming location and leave dates,” she added.

“I’d completed my medical, background check and had my leave date for the show. “Everything had come back clear and everyone was happy but sometimes in TV these ‘creative decisions’ happen and that’s okay because it’s always an honor to even be considered (sic) let alone film a new television show.”

Power finished her lengthy statement by declaring: “Anyone who knows me knows I don’t hold back and I give the whole truth in things. Don’t ever write exclusive next to my name again without having actual facts from me. Idiots.”

She elaborated on the abrupt turn of events to the so dramatic podcast, explaining that she was one of the first contestants cast for The Challenge Australia back in January.

“I have zero idea why they pulled me from the show. It was literally a last-second creative decision,” Power said.

“People are asking if it’s because of OnlyFans but they knew about that and didn’t care… I have no idea the real reason, I don’t know what happened.”

The Challenge Australia is described as a cross between survivor and ninja warrior and will see a crop of former reality stars compete in grievous challenges for a shot at winning $1m in prize money.

According to so dramaticsome of the big names who are set to appear on the show include Ciaran Stott, Cyrell Paule, Grant Crapp, Tully Smyth, Brittany Hockley, Jessica Brody, Megan Marx, Jack Vidgen, Kiki Morris, Tim Dormer and Brooke Blurton.

Billionaire Clive Palmer, WA Premier Mark McGowan to learn their fates in defamation verdict

“The publications themselves are, it seems to me, highly unlikely to change very settled views about these men.”

loading

Defamation trials are supposed to restore the reputation of complainants, but this one apparently had the opposite effect on anyone who sat in the witness box.

Palmer gave extraordinary testimony during his cross-examination that he thought the “anti-Palmer” legislation gave McGowan a James Bond-style “licence to kill”, and led him to fear for his life.

McGowan’s lawyers ridiculed that statement but McGowan himself was forced to sit through an uncomfortable cross-examination.

Palmer’s lawyers went through text messages between McGowan and WA Attorney-General John Quigley in 2020 in excruciating detail.

The texts exposed locker room talk between the pair as they derived Palmer’s weight, describing him as a “big fat liar,” a “turd,” and “the fat man.”

The texts also offered a glimpse into McGowan’s relationship with media mogul Kerry Stokes.

A text message chain revealed McGowan alerted Stokes to the anti-Palmer legislation one minute before it was read into WA Parliament in 2020.

“Kerry, we’ve just introduced legislation to block a claim by Clive Palmer against the state of WA for $28 billion… The risk is too great… obviously he won’t be happy. I’ll call to discuss,” the message to Stokes read.

In the next three days, front pages on Stokes’ newspaper TheWest australian depicted Palmer as Dr Evil, a cockroach, and a cane toad.

loading

Stokes congratulated the premier and joked that the newspaper’s depiction of Palmer as a cockroach could be sold as an item for his WA-based charity.

“Mark, well done,” Stokes texted. “I think no one else could have achieved that legislation in the speed you did. Reckon the insect heads should make a Telethon sales item. People are with you!”

Quigley did not escape a cringeworthy cross-examination either.

He was forced to fly back to Sydney in April at taxpayers’ expense to redo his evidence after admitting mistakes in his earlier testimony.

Quigley was a veteran criminal lawyer before entering parliament, but Lee tore into his effort as a witness, describing his evidence as “all over the shop”.

The blunders prompted questions from the WA opposition over Quigley’s ability for his ministerial role.

The defamation bid is one of several legal challenges Mr Palmer has pursued against the WA premier since 2020, including a failed bid in the High Court to have the state’s hard border closure deemed unconstitutional.

UC Davis medical student and Navy vet dies after saving others in the American River

Family, classmates and professors are mourning the death of 30-year-old UC Davis medical student Joshua Brandon Crane. The five-year Navy veteran disappeared under the water Friday at a social event he organized for his medical school colleagues.”He saw some women in distress in the San Juan Rapids,” his sister Jessica Crane told KCRA 3. “No hesitation, he jumped off his board and he got in the water and got them out.”Sacramento Metro Fire and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office recovered his body in the American River on Saturday.”In every sense of the word, he was a hero,” his sister said. “He was a hero to a lot of people, everyone views him that way. He’s my biggest hero.”Crane was born in Chico and raised with his sister from him by their single mother. Their father died 29 years ago Monday. He went to Chico High School, then joined the navy at the age of 18. He served for five years and was stationed at Camp Pendleton and in Okinawa, Japan. When he returned, he enrolled in Chico State for undergraduate classes, with dreams of going to medical school.”He was holding out for Davis,” his sister said. “That was the big one.” Fast forward to this summer, Joshua was a fourth-year student at the UC Davis School of Medicine. The associate dean of students, Dr. Sharad Jain, told KCRA 3 he was working toward a residence in internal medicine. He dreamed of doing that at UC Davis, as well. During his time in medical school, Dr. Jain said Joshua volunteered with people experiencing homelessness, refugees who were new to the Sacramento area, and vulnerable and marginalized communities. Dr. Jain and Joshua met on Thursday, the day before he disappeared under the American River. The two had a special bond. “We talked about his hopes of him, his dreams of him, and his ideas of him for a career ahead,” he reflected. “I felt like he was at a really good place at the time, so I think that made this loss even more tragic.” Right now, the medical school is working with Joshua’s family to arrange a memorial service.
