Courtney Clenney, the OnlyFans and Instagram model who stabbed her boyfriend to death in Miami in April, has been arrested on a murder charge, the Miami Herald has learned.

The 26-year-old Clenney was taken into custody on Wednesday in Hawaii, and will eventually be extradited to Miami-Dade County to face trial. She’s being charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon for the April 3 stabbing of Christian “Toby” Obumseli, who was a native of North Texas.

Obumseli’s family in Richardson, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV that they set up a GoFundMe page, which described Obumseli as “extremely compassionate with a desire always to uplift those around him.” The GoFundMe had raised about $82,500 of its $100,000 goal on Thursday.

Clenney’s arrest was confirmed Wednesday afternoon by her Miami defense lawyer, Frank Prieto, who said she’d been in Hawaii while in rehabilitation for substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder.

“I’m completely shocked, especially since we were cooperating with the investigation and offered to voluntarily surrender her if she were charged,” Prieto said. “We look forward to clearing her name in court.”

The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, in a press release on Wednesday evening, said the arrest warrant remained sealed. State Attorney Katherine Fernandez, along with City Police Chief Manuel Morales and South Florida US Marshal Gadyaces Serralta, were expected to detail the arrest at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.

The arrest caps a four-month investigation by Miami police homicide detectives and prosecutors into Clenney, whose killing of her boyfriend during a domestic dispute in a luxury Edgewater apartment garnered headlines across the world. Clenney’s defense attorney insisted that she acted in self-defense and the killing was justified.

But in the days after his death, Obumseli’s relatives called for Clenney’s arrest, saying they did not believe he was ever a threat.

Obumseli worked in cryptocurrency. Known as Courtney Tailor on her social-media platforms, Clenney boasted over two million followers on her social-media platforms.

She and Obumseli had been dating less than two years, and their relationship had been plagued by domestic strife — she’d once been arrested for domestic battery in Las Vegas, and police had been called to their home in Austin, Texas, on several occasions .

The two had only lived in Miami for a few months at the One Paraiso building, 3131 NE 7th Ave., where staff members had documented numerous domestic disturbance complaints about the couple and had even moved to evict them.

Clenney and Obumseli had broken up several times, although investigators believe that he’d moved back into the apartment by the first day of April. The Miami Herald earlier reported that Miami police responded to the apartment on April 1, two days before the stabbing, over another domestic disturbance call.

Finally on the evening of April 3, just before 5 pm, Clenney frantically called 911 to report Obumseli had been stabbed.

Influencer Courtney Clenney Charged In April Stabbing of Boyfriend Christian ‘Toby’ Obumseli

An Instagram influencer has been charged with murder after allegedly fatally stabbing her boyfriend inside a luxury Miami high-rise in April.

Courtney Clenney, a 26-year-old OnlyFans model, was taken into custody on Wednesday in Hawaii after being charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon in connection April 3 death of her boyfriend, 27-year-old Christian Obumseli, the miami herald first reported. The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office is set to hold a press conference about the arrest on Thursday afternoon, citing in a press conference that the arrest report is sealed but that a “social media personality” was charged in connection with Obumseli’s murder.

Clenney’s defense attorney, Frank Prieto, confirmed the charges to The Daily Beast and said his client had been at a Hawaiian rehab facility for PTSD. The lawyer added that they are “disappointed that the State Attorney sought an arrest warrant” and noted that his client of him has “cooperated with the investigation from the beginning.”

“We are completely shocked at Courtney’s arrest based upon the clear evidence of self-defense in this matter,” Prieto said. “Obumseli attacked her and choked her that evening; Courtney had no choice but to meet force with force.”

“We will vigorously defend Courtney and clear her of this unfounded and baseless charge,” he added.

The Miami Police Department did not immediately respond to The Daily Beast’s request for comment.

The arrest marks the largest development in the investigation into the grayly slaying. The Miami Police Department previously said that on April 3, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at the One Paraiso luxury building around 5 pm, where they found Obumseli, who worked in cryptocurrency, with a “knife wound.”

“A female was located on scene and interviewed by detectives,” police said.

Obumseli was then transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. While the details of Obumseli’s death remain unclear, a police spokesperson previously The Daily Beast that the pair “had been involved in a physical altercation” prior to the attack.

Local media reports also indicated that Clenney was detained at the scene to be taken to a mental health facility under the state’s Baker Act—which allows police to involuntarily commit an individual for up to 72 hours.

At the time, Prieto insisted that Clenney had acted out of self-defense.

“We have always offered to self-surrender if charges were filed in an effort to begin the legal process of clearing her of the charges,” Prieto told The Daily Beast on Wednesday, noting that this is “an absolute injustice to charge a victim of domestic violence and human trafficking with a crime; Courtney was clearly defending herself.”

Clenney—who boasts 2 million followers on Instagram, 25,700 on TikTok, and 41,000 more on Twitter—describes herself as “that chick from the internet” on social media accounts under the name “Courtney Tailor.” On her Ella OnlyFans account, Clenney describes herself as a “Proud Texan! Full-time fitness model and foodie living with my 2 dogs, Jesse and Ranger. I just moved to Miami so I need your positive vibes! Scary BIG change for this lil texas girl.”

On April 2, an OnlyFans post on her page read, “talk dirty to me.” The day prior, her page of her posted: “I’m not always this nasty… wait, yes I am lol.”

According to the Dallas Morning Newsthe pair recently moved to Florida from Texas, and initial reports suggested the conflict that night was not the first time the couple had had a physical altercation.

“We’ve seen her hit him. I’ve never seen him hit her,” Ashley Vaughn, one of the couple’s friends, told Local10. “From what we’ve personally experienced between the both of them, we believe that Christian wouldn’t put her in a position where she would need to stab him to protect herself.” (A neighbor told the same outlet that they had witnessed Obumseli swing at her about a week before the incident.)

Another friend told the outlet the friend group in Miami was now reeling from the news—and the reality that both Clenney and Obumseli were lost to them. “We didn’t think this is how far it would have gone,” Tahki Banks said.

In a GoFundMe campaign, Obumseli’s family said the “unconscionable” tragedy occurred just a week before his 28th birthday—and it is hard to believe “someone’s selfish act ripped Christian away from this world.” Describing Obumseli as an “extremely compassionate” person with an “infectious smile that could light up any room” the family added that they were seeking justice for the “heinous act of violence.” The family did not immediately respond to The Daily Beast’s request for comment.

“It is not enough to say we are shocked and hurting—We are utterly devastated,” the family said in the online campaign. “His murder leaves many unanswered questions and creates a void that can never be fixed or filled. Not even with time.”

Late music icon Olivia Newton-John confessed that she had been in ‘denial’ about her cancer battle in recent years – and refused to label her struggle to live as a ‘fight.’

In one of her last poignant red carpet appearances, the Australian star admitted that she even refused to think about cancer on a daily basis.

The fun-loving singer and actress, famous for her role as Sandy in 1978 film Grease, as well as her stellar music career, called life ‘a gift’ no matter the outcome.

A statement from her husband John Easterling posted to her Instagram revealed the singer died peacefully at her Southern California ranch Monday morning. She was 73.

Newton-John had always remained positive about her health even during the worrying times of the pandemic.

Olivia Newton-John spoke candidly about her positive outlook on life amid her long battle with cancer, in an interview with DailyMail.com at the G'Day USA benefit in Beverly Hills in January 2020. She is pictured with her niece, Australian actress Tottie Goldsmith

Just two years before her passing, she spoke candidly about her outlook on life at the G’Day USA benefit in Beverly Hills alongside former co-star John Travolta.

‘Gosh, life is a gift and I’ve had an amazing life and I intend to keep going with it and I want to help other people with cancer of course,’ she told DailyMail.com in the January 2020 interview.

‘I have my wellness center in Melbourne and I want to see an end to cancer in my lifetime so other people don’t have to suffer.’

Newton-John was first diagnosed with the disease in 1992 but announced she had overcome the cancer in 2013, the year after her Wellness Center first opened.

But in May 2017, she was told cancer had metastasized and spread to her bones.

Reflecting on her fight to beat the condition, she admitted: ‘I don’t see it as a battle. I don’t think about it a lot, to be honest.

‘Denial is a really good thing and I’m getting stronger and better all the time! I am doing well!…I am feeling wonderful.’

She also admitted that she had hope for her future.

‘I’m winning over and living with it well and that’s how I see it,’ she added.

Newton-John also reflected on her delight at still being remembered for Grease over four decades after its release.

She confessed: ‘We did something very special together. That movie is still loved.’

She recalled how caring Travolta was during the filming of the musical romantic film.

Asked about her favorite memory on set, she relied: ‘His kindness to me. When there was one scene in the movie – it was my close up, when Rizzo pulls me forward in the bonfire scene – and in the middle of my take, he stopped it and came over to me and whispered in my ear: “I think you can do better.”

‘So that’s really generous. For an actor to do that for another actor. I wasn’t as experienced as him. He was very nurturing and sweet.’

During that same event, lifelong friend and Grease co-star Travolta praised her positive outlook on life, despite her health worries.

He said: ‘Olivia is a survivor and she’s smart and she’s got a lot of life in her and I think she looks at it from the glass half full always and that’s her beautiful, natural approach towards life and I think we all need to do that.’

However on Monday, husband John Easterling announced the tragic news that his wife had lost her battle.

‘Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends,’ he said in a statement.

‘We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.

‘Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer.

Newton-John balanced her career with spending the last 30 years as a bold advocate for cancer patients and survivors.

She admitted in 2020: ‘I live in the most beautiful place in the countryside and I just play with my animals and get out in nature. That’s my healing place. But I never feel kind of overwhelmed with helping people if I can.

‘I have a little group of women that I stay in touch with who are going through metastatic breast cancer also and we stay in touch and communicate.

Newton-John famously resisted the part of Sandy in the 1978 movie Grease. She was 28 at the time and thought she was too old to play a fresh-faced high school student

‘And I’d love to take that to a broader audience so people can share their experiences and share the things that they are doing that are helping them.

‘I’m in a very happy place. My baby has been born, the foundation has been born and now we can move forward and raise the funds so that we can find the best scientists and researchers to do the studies.’

She often promoted the use of cannabis and gardening as key to fending off cancer symptoms.

‘My husband’s a plant medicine man so he grew cannabis for me and made tinctures for me to take for pain and inflammation and so many other things that cannabis can do.

‘It’s been a maligned plant all these years and it really is a magical miracle plant.’

Olivia said using marijuana was a ‘no brainer.’ rather than popping pills and taking steroid creams.

‘It helped me a lot with pain, because, you know, I don’t like taking prescription drugs, so it’s kind of a no-brainer.

‘It is kind and it’s compassionate. It’s what should be available for everybody to use.’

As her career grew, she first landed the role of Sandy in the Broadway musical Grease, before being cast opposite Travolta in the blockbuster film.

The pair ‘grew closer’ after Dr Teo ended 30 years of marriage and split with his wife Genevieve Agnew in 2018.

Dr Teo, 62, and Ms Agnew met when he was 25 while she was working at hospital as a nurse.

The neurosurgeon had discussed his relationship with his then-wife in several newspaper and TV profiles and public speeches, and his family regularly supported him at black tie galas for his brain cancer research foundation.

Dr Teo publicly announced the pair had split in a statement released in 2020 – saying they had split ‘two years ago but remain friends’.

‘This is something that is entirely private and confidential to us and not a matter of public interest,’ he said.

The statement was made during a turbulent year for the renowned, but controversial neurosurgeon, famous for his reputation of taking on patients who other doctors have deemed inoperable.

Criticism was also heaped on the surgeon over patients paying six figure sums to fund their surgeries, with many turning to crowdfunding platforms, such as GoFundMe.

The high private fees were charged as patients went outside the public system, Dr Teo explained.

Dr Teo previously said he would receive about $8,000 to $15,000 himself from a $120,000 surgery, with the rest shared among the medical team and to pay for costs.

Discord updates Android app to roll out new features along with iOS

Discord’s product team has updated the blog post to announce that the company has revamped its Android app. The new update will help Android users to receive new features at the same time as iOS and desktop. Previously, DiscordAndroid users get new features months after they were announced on iOS. According to a report by The Verge, the recently released Server Profiles feature was also available for iOS users a long time before it arrived for Android users.
The blog post explains that earlier work on Android implementation of new features was usually delayed before its desktop and iOS rollout was completed. This resulted in some features to release first on one platform before eventually arriving on another one. However, this new update is expected to stop showing users “coming soon to Android” messages for future Discord features, the report claims.
New Discord Android app availability
Discord has started rolling out the latest Android app update. Users will be able to see the changes in the underlying codebase over the coming weeks. Discord has decided to switch to ReactNative for its Android app.

What is React Native and how will it help users
React Native is an open-source UI software framework created by Goal which can be used to develop apps for multiple platforms. As per the report, React Native is widely used across multiple popular mobile apps, including — InstagramMicrosoft Outlook, Shopify, Tesla and Pinterest among others. Discord started using this framework for its iOS app since Meta open-sourced it in 2015, the report mentions. The report also claims that
This switch will allow the company to release new features across every platform, simultaneously. Moreover, the design of Discord on Android will look more like the one found in the desktop or the iOS versions, the report suggests. The Discord Android app will retain some specific customizations, however, designs and font size will be aligned with the iOS app.

Discord has explained that React Native has allowed the company to “streamline and consolidate” its processes, which has helped its engineers to “work more efficiently and push out updates more frequently.” Now, the team won’t need to spend much time maintaining “different codebases for different devices” the report states.
